Aeon snickered at the ludicrous plot. "Why does every evil geek get their kicks from unleashing irrationally pissed-off men on other worlds? If you just want to inflict pain, there's this thing called a whip." Though she was messing around, Aeon saw the motion and did a backflip to gain some distance from the blast. She then fired her gun at Konahrik, totalling six shots.

"He's a suspect? Very nice! We should question him," Storm agreed as she landed. "Grab his legs and keep pushing," Storm then directed her, threading her arms beneath O'Chunks's armpits. She grimaced at the smelly, heavy brute as she pulled him. This was going to be a slow trek back to the portal. She prayed they'd have enough time.

Talim nodded, moving over to take the fat man's legs and attempt to push. It was much easier now with the new heroine helping her.

The Arms Legion continued to punch at Goret, his chain link to Akira seemingly never ending. Akira herself had leapt back to avoid the flames, firing back with her X Baton in Blaster Mode.

Storm grunted as she hefted to O’Chunks. “Why, yes... For a while, my home village thought I was an incarnation of a weather goddess. I am Storm, leader of the X-Men’s Gold Team.” The two had made significant progress, getting clear of the wildfire and out of the woods. It would take just a bit more effort to drag him across the battlefield and through the portal—except there was one problem: time.

With her watch, Storm sent her coordinates. “Storm to base,” she radioed in. “I’ve located Talim and we have suspect O’Chunks in custody. Requesting extraction ASAP, before he wakes up.”

Talim listened to the woman's story as she helped carry the very large and very smelly man. Why exactly did they need him again? "I see. How interesting! Well in my village, I was appointed the new Priestess of The Winds. I lived with my family in relative peace until one day when a stranger brought a strange weapon to sell for food."

With Storm's powerful elemental strikes and Aeon's arsenal of explosives, enough holes had punched through the opposing numbers for most of the agents to make it back through the portal to safety. Most of them...except for the ones who were left behind, that is.

Although the wall of monsters had been thinned tremendously, they were still in ample enough numbers to prove a challenge to those remaining. With most of the team's heavy hitters successfully evacuated and the rest preoccupied with fighting Konahrik, no one was left to prevent the monsters from surrounding the portal itself and drawing dangerously close to entering the unclosed gateway.

By the time Talim and Storm (who was still winded from her battle with Volga) rounded the hill with the sleeping O'Chunks in tow, they were met with a circle of assorted beasts that surrounded the portal. As if the race against this world's desruction wasn't enough, Talim, Storm, Aeon, Akira, and the others' only chance of escape was now barricaded by the remaining enemies their allies had failed to dispatch. With so few heroes left on the field at this point, could they still overcome Konahrik's advantage and escape with their lives?


As if psychically sensing the insults being thrown at him, O'Chunks struggled in his sleep and mumbled.
"Quit...yer lip...ZZZzzZZzzZZzZzzZ....."


Thankfully, it seemed like Talim and Storm's mere presence had distracted the remaining monsters from entering the U.C.A.'s portal for the time being. The enemies instead advanced on the two's position, aiming to destroy the stragglers who still had yet to escape. It was time to either fight their way through, or risk being lost forever inside this doomed world.

A loud, continuous rumbling rose from the ground near the portal, and suddenly, a whole dozen Skellobits were sent flying! Two giant enemies stampeded through the group of monsters, barreling straight for the girls on the hill.

Those silhouettes from the horizon weren't small anymore, were they?

Muth​

The pair of mammoth-esque monsters made O'Chunks' massive 262cm build look like a child in comparison. Stepping all over the squishy Clubbas and Skellobits in their way, they had already made quick work of much of the remaining enemies. The two Muths started clambering up the hill on their hoofs, their huge trunks swinging wildly towards the pair and aiming to send them flying down from the top of the hill! The huge beasts would be upon them in 15 seconds or less, with the rest of the smaller foes reaching them in about a minute or so.



Ah, but wait...weren't there three silhouettes?



An even larger foe approached from behind the main force of enemies.

The wheeled dragon rolled past the U.C.A. portal on its way to the base of the hill, slowly catching up with the charging forces.

...Things were not looking good for our pair on the hill. Unless the forces currently fighting Konahrik could cross the wide distance of the field in time or some of the agents returned from the U.C.A., Storm and Talim were about to enter a very trying encounter. As if the sheer unfairness of the enemies' numbers wasn't enough, O'Chunks' shaking wasn't making their carrying any easier!

Marco woke to find herself staring up at a sterile white ceiling.

...Was this the infirmary? She hadn't really been to this side of the complex before...

...OK, did that one time Ally's stomach ached really count?


Marco's eyes were heavy, and instead of rising, she flipped on one side and let out a tired moan. Whatever had happened to her out there, it had done a number on her. Her motivation to so much as lift a finger was close to zero, but it's not like she was in pain or anything. It was more like...numbness all over her body.

"Mmmmmmmmrrrrgghhh...." Marco mumbled.

Storm gave a tired grin, having found a kindred spirit. The look quickly faded as she heard the clattering of lesser foes converging on the two wind-wielding women. Then came the hulking monsters... “Oh, come on...!” the exhausted Storm protested. The stragglers required little effort to destroy, but those things making a beeline for her were a different story. Her pupils constricted as the beasts closed in. They needed backup or a portal immediately.

Cugai and Fugai watched as the towering beasts showed up to the battlefield, slamming his fist on the counter, Cugai growled. "Damn these guys! We gotta get Talim and Storm out of there."

"These guys are just begging to die." Pepperjack said. "At least that kid is keeping the man on his last string, better than nothing."

".....The Ally System." Fugai said.

"Fugai?" Cugai asked.

"Think about it. We need someone who can give us the edge we need. We ran in like idiots, so using an idiot solution might get us away."

"I don't think that's true-" Cugai was then interrupted.

"Whoever you have in mind, send em in." Pepperjack said, folding his arms.

"Fine." Cugai said. "I'll see if I can get into contact with our other Administrators. You summon who you need to."

The flames around Konahrik seem to fade, and it is revealed to the two warriors that Konahrik had slipped himself into a portal that was closing beneath him. He reappears standing over them on a hill, and he breaths in once more. "Yol...TOOR SHUL!!!" From his person, a wave of fire is launched toward the two.

Goret took every blow, his mouth bleeding as his face is once again punched. Goret leaps back and fires a barrage of ki blasts from his hands.

As the opposing forces slowly made their way toward Talim and Storm, another portal opened, and out from it a glowing blue projectile came rushing in at quick speeds. It's speed being enough to kick dirt up toward the mammoth beasts, and knocking any smaller enemies. This blue thing then slammed himself into the ground, revieling himself to the bunch.

"Hey. Didn't your parents tell you that ganging up on ladies isn't socially expectable?"

Sonic The Hedgehog has been summoned to the battlefield!​

From Talim and Storm's watches, they can hear Cugai speaking. "Storm, Talim, leave O'Chunks behind and get back here as fast as you can. Capture isn't worth it right now. Sonic will help clear a pathway for you guys to escape!"

Akira yanked her Astral Chain, the Arms Legion vanishing after punching the fireball Konahrik had vomited their way before Goret could damage it further. She shifted it to her Beast Legion and hopped on, switching her X Baton into its sword mode and began charging through enemies to the escape portal. She was too upset to talk, knowing that Konahrik got away. Meanwhile, on the hill, Talim was all too happy to drop the fat man as she sent a gust of wind out to push some of the enemies back.

"We're on our way! Thank you, Mr. Sonic!" Talim exclaimed as she began to follow the Blue Blur. The entire situation was extremely stressful and chaotic, but Talim was raised to always keep a level head in times like these.

“Ohhh hoho! I’ve heard zis before! *Ahem* My goals are beyond your understanding.", the raven continued with a mocking tone. "Bohhh hoho! You better not make zis ‘half blood Mer’ angry because it vill cause you to-BLARGHH-!!” Stroheim didn’t have the chance to finish taunting Konahrik before he got blasted by the lightning, disappearing in a small puff of magical smoke.

Kazwellor winced as he felt the connection between him and Stroheim sever. ‘Looks like he finally got killed… What’s this about an old man, though?’ Right as the half-elf was about to inquire with the other agents, hell completely broke loose, with the appearance of even more enemies and some agents arriving in order to help everyone evacuate the world. Looks like it'll be over soon…

As the agents went back in the portal one by one, Kaz helped the extraction go a little smoother by providing cover fire with his Arcane Bolts, delaying a part of the enemy forces. With the magical reserves he had left and the Genesis Jar he still had in his possession, maybe it could be worth a shot to- ‘No, I shouldn’t… Mission’s over for now.’ Letting out a sigh, Kaz entered the portal after the others.

When he got back into the UCA headquarters, the sorcerer let out a groan, rubbing the side of his head. “This got south rather quickly…”, he mumbled to himself. “Tsk, I wish I would’ve done more, I’m sorry…”, he apologized to no one in particular.

Storm stuttered for a second as she processed what had just happened. “D-do you mean acceptable?” she corrected Sonic.

With Talim pushing with the wind, Storm took flight once again, dropping O’Chunks with a relieved sigh. “It’s settled then. You bring the wind, and I the lightning! Let’s go!” While floating towards the extraction portal, she conjured lightning strikes against the gigantic enemies, though with only a third of the power she used against Volga.

The sky above the charging enemies would be cleaved in twain, as a single meteor drenched in purple fire and shadow energy hurtled towards the middle of the field. A might planet shaking boom sent scores of enemies flying, and while it didn't stop all of them, a good portion of said enemies were destroyed by the meteor's fall. But of course, it wasn't the metoer itself that was the issue. Rather it was what, or WHO, lay inside.

A lone figure rose from the crater, a blood red energy exuding from his body. The sheer power exuded by this newcomer sent shivers down everyone's spine, no matter what side of the conflict they were on. Talim all but froze in sheer terror as her eyes widened in shock. Akira yelped to avoid the crater entirely and took a different route around it. As the being stepped out of the crater and onto the field, his true form became clear to all. The elegant dark blue armor with gold trim was offset by the grotesque arm and the massive red blade that looked as if it had been torn from some demon or beast. The single piercing eye looked to and fro, causing all who looked upon the knight to recoil in fear.

When he spoke, his voice was like a sword on a chalkboard, the most evil, sinister voice anyone could think of. Even Konahrik himself would think twice before engaging this being.

"I am Nightmare. Azure Knight of Soul Edge. Pledge your fealty to me, or die by my hand!" he declared.

With the team settling in the barracks, Jackson took a once-over at Ellie and Felix as they got themselves situated. No way in hell was anyone getting out of the MJOLNIR for the foreseeable future, so they'd most likely get cozy with the nearest floor or wall. At least, he didn't expect the facilities here to have that kind of equipment anyway. A rapid series of thudding signaled Three's arrival as Hailey strode in through the doorframe, speaking up. "Our downed agent is stabilized, Boss. I'm sure she'd appreciate some company if she's awake." With an acknowledging nod, Jack briefly bumped Hailey's rightmost shoulder against his left as he exited the barracks and trudged his way down to the medbay. His teammates could sense his mind was in a dead panic, even if he dare didn't admit it. Seven hours ago, they were one jump away from Reach. Now, they're in the middle of deep space, separated from Command, and under entirely new, disorganized leadership hosting an assembly of strange characters- some, of which, he could at least relate to with military experience.

The thoughts didn't last long, as Jack cut them off. Helmet underneath his arm, he approached the wall to the medbay and gave two quick taps to the exterior before moving in the doorframe and shifting off to the right inside the room. His immediate fears of an injured agent were instantly diminished as he spotted the woman glancing around the area- probably how the hell she ended up there. Jack lowered his voice to a friendlier volume, and spoke. "Hey, kid. Is now a bad time?"

While diving out of the way, Aeon quickly inserted a standard round and a blank into her gun, followed by another spider bomb. In rapid succession, she launched the device towards Konahrik and detonated it with a bullet. The plume of fire and smoke obscured her hasty getaway. “Next time...” she hissed.

“Oh...!” Storm slowed momentarily and stared in awe at the new challenger. “Keep pushing!”

On the battlefield, a fissure opened, its odd shape edged in a red glow. Like glass, the image of the world behind the crack suddenly shattered, revealing a full portal, through which flew a woman with red hair and a short, white cape. She drew a pair of gleaming curved swords as the portal closed behind her.

LUCIA HAS STARTED HER MISSION.

Upon seeing the people under siege, the devil hunter leapt into the air and threw daggers at the lesser enemies on the ground, skewering their skulls with the serrated blades. She then rushed and delivered a flying kick to one skellobit, punting it into another. Both were reduced to a pile of assorted bones on impact. She then followed up her attack by leaping onto a Clubba's head and springboarded backwards, landing on the charging Muth with precision. "HA!" She blurted out a kiai while driving her swords into the hulking monster. She then forcefully twisted the right sword, aiming to goad or 'steer' the creature to miss Talim.

The Azure Knight was not one to simply wait.

He swung Soul Edge with one hand in a wide arc, cutting down an entire group of enemies, cutting them down like grass with just one swing. He switched hands and swung the sword around to the other side, cutting even more enemies down without a single scratch. Summoning dark energy in his hand, he ran his normal hand across the flat of the sword and charged it with demonic energy, raising Soul Edge high and plunging it into the ground before him, shaking the entire planet to its foundations and sending a mighty shockwave of negative energy bursting forth and destroying even more of the gathered foes.

"Are there none who will face me??" Nightmare roared, challenging any of the remaining foes to confront him.

"Who in the hell is that?" Pepperjack asked as the new opposing force made his appearance.

"Bad news." Cugai said.

"Lucia isn't bad news." Fugai said. "Getting her AND Sonic at the same time counts as a win."

"Not that." Cugai said. "This guy. He just came out of nowhere."

"Hmmm....." Fugai said. "Hey, CiMos, can you tell us where this guy came from?"

"Yeah, yeah, just help me clear up the trash, huh?" Sonic began to spindash toward the mass of enemies, ramming them away at incredible speeds. Sonic then found himself sitting atop the Jawbus, standing as if nothings happening. "Wow! Look at this view! It's terrible!"

Storm was close enough to simply fly through the portal, but she waited for her ally to catch up. She hurled gusts of wind and torrents of lightning to keep the path clear.

After several more cuts and gouges to the Muth, Lucia leapt from the muth, landing near Nightmare following his intimidating display. She swiftly fastened a red crescent stone in her amulet, completing the ensemble of the round blue and green teardrop stones. "Be careful what you wish for, demon," she stated with a light accent reminiscent of French. She then raised her blades to challenge the monstrous knight.

Akira would run by on her Beast Legion, grabbing Talim and tossing her onboard before she could get swarmed and taking them both into the portal just in the nick of time.

Meanwhile, Nightmare made no move to acknowledge the woman, instead charging his blade with energy. Then, he let out a low laugh, like the rumblings of some ancient beast hiding in the shadows. Had he finally found a decent challenge?

"So, you are the first to die...."

Storm glanced back for a moment longer before reluctantly leaving the world. “That was rough... but I did what I could. There are still a few of our people out there, fighting back the hordes,” she reported worriedly.

Aeon noticed the two allies fighting up to the last possible minute. She quickly swooped in to aid Sonic, who was now alone versus three large monsters and a cluster of small ones. With her pistol reloaded, she provided anti-air fire, narrowing the number of fronts on which Sonic fought. “We’re overtime and just about everyone is gone. How much longer are you staying?” she inquired.

“No,” Lucia answered defiantly. “That honor will be yours.” She then broke out in a sprint towards her foe, preemptively dodging right before aiming a powerful kick at the side of the demon knight’s knee. Her speed and strength equaled that of the best human combatants.
