Regular Infantry

The UTA Regular Infantry are comprised of mostly enlisted men and women. They comprise the majority of the UTA Army's military force. The UTA begins training at the age of 17 and after 6 months of basic training they are eligible to be deployed into combat. Their training is focused on adaptability to fight well on any given environment, however they are most suited towards rugged environments similar to the surface world of The Graveyard.

Armament:

\

UTAM Type 3-BAR- The standard assault weapon carried by every member of the UTA Infantry. A hybrid energy weapon designed to fire either ballistic or energy munitions. Each soldier carries magazines of each and the rifle configures itself according to the munition type that is loaded. The weapon is set by default to deliver a 3 round burst but can be change to be a semi-automatic rifle at the discretion of its user.

UTAM Type 1-LMG var - A light machine gun that carries ballistic munitions. One is designated per squadron. This gun designed for defending positions, providing cover fire for allies, and for taking down enemies at medium to long ranges. It is really heavy with one of these weighing in at 50 pounds when loaded.

LS6 Revolver - While most aren't nearly as ornate as the one shown above. It is the infantrymen's sidearm of choice, despite being given the option of another more practical semi-automatic sidearm. The infantrymen have since stuck with the tradition of carrying this revolver based off of a folk tale surrounding it. The story is that while every man and women that fights in war goes to hell, those who carry this weapon can sure as hell fight their way out against angels and demons alike. This is based on the weapons ability to absolutely rip apart anything it hits, however the downside is that the LS6 is wildly inaccurate.

Scout Sniper - "Chameleon"

The recon class for the UTA are the Scout Snipers. Trained in the harsh war-torn environment of the surface world and the orbitting graveyard. They are skilled long range combatants made up of the UTA Army's Elitarounde. Out of thousands of applicants, only a few hundred are chosen for the program, and out of the few hundred, only around 20 will actually graduate from the year long program. They are tasked with the dangerous job of gathering intelligence from behind enemy lines along with completing other objectives given to them by their COs. Their armor has the ability to refract the light around them similarly to the rest of the environment they are in, making them incredibly hard to see. This tech has granted them the nickname, "Chameleons," by the standard infantrymen.

Armament:

latest

STR-50SP Sniper Rifle - A powerful, single shot sniper rifle. It is manufactured with an internal suppression system to reduce the muzzle flare and sound the rifle makes when fired. The downside to this rifle is that each round must be individually chambered, giving the rifle an incredibly slow fire rate.

latest

Heavy Raiders - "Big Boys"

The Heavy Raiders, aka Big Boys, are the hardcore, career soldiers who's only job is to break through enemy lines and lead the charge. The Heavy Raider armor they are outfitted with tremendously bolsters each soldier's capabilities. Meaning that person's speed, strength, agility, and durability are enhanced by this armor. However, only a limited number of these suits have ever been made due to the time consuming process of manufacturing each one and tailoring it to suit the individual combatant. Because of this, there are only two battalions of "Big Boys" currently in the UTA Army.

Armaments:

LS RAC  "Raider Rifle" - A heavy assault rifle used by the Heavy Raiders. The Raider Rifle uses depleted uranium rounds that are designed to easily penetrate armor.

latest

UTAM CSR-500 - A mini-gun that is normally attached to gunships. With the strength of the Heavy Raider Armor, it can be carried around as a soldier's primary weapon instead of the Raider Rifle.

Siege Tank

The staple tank model of the UTA. Its design was put together as sort of a necessity for the UTA Army to have some for of reliable ground support outside of different transport vehicles. It is a one-size fits all kind of weapon. It has two modes, the tank performs standard light tank stuff like breaking through enemy positions and delivering some decent fire power. The real prize to this tank is that it can transform into a heavy gun platform called Siege Mode. In Siege Mode, the tank's fire power and attack range massively increases as it is allowed to deliver a deadly payload via its high powered rail gun.  Compared to other tanks created by the other war powers, this tank is incredibly light on armor, making it susceptible to anti vehicle attacks from enemy infantry. Which is why the second mobile ground support platform was created.

UTAM Type-0 Tank

The Type-0 is an experimental weapon that is soon to hit mass production for the UTA. It is a far greater mobile weapon to use as a line busting tank weapon due to its improved armor and anti-infantry weaponry. While its cannons don't bolster nearly the same power as its siege tank counterpart. Its ultimately more versatile.

Reason for War: With the UTA's burgeoning population now exceeding its carrying capacity underneath Terra's surface and its space colonies outside of Terra's orbit. The planet, now aptly named the "Graveyard," was beyond the hope of terra-forming to reproduce conditions before the wars. With crime beginning to run wild as people fight over resources, the decision came down to the High Council on deciding whether or not the UTA should crumble underneath itself or rising to the challenge of conquering the remaining habitable planets in the system for resources and land.  A near unanimous vote to declare war on the other stellar powers was made, and the Terran war machine sparked to life after lying dormant for decades.

Political Factions:

Warmongers

Notable Figures: Grand Admiral Robert Nikrat, High Councilwoman Sharon Wang, Brigadier General Jesus Joaquin, Long-Stan CEO DeMarcus Long, UTA Manufacturing CEO Hillary Hayes

Policy: It is Terra's destiny to claim the entire system and claim its resources for the Terran people. To do this, war must be waged against the other military powers in the system in order to gain the resources they have control over and to claim future planets without contest. With Terra's expansion as the authoritative ruler of the star system, only then will peace be seen.

Pacifists

Notable Figures: Former Vice Admiral Praneesh Nwarhta, ShenTech CEO Liang Zhou, High Councilman Wilhelm Reinhardt

Policy: This system has seen its share of wars and the future of Terra lies in making beneficial diplomatic ties with the other military powers, with future plans of assimilation into one system-wide conglomeration of Human governments. Together we can work things out peacefully and carry on that tradition to our progeny.

Role: Marines - there are two branches of the UTA regular infantry, the Navy's Marines and the Army's Regular Infantry. The Navy Marines take things one step further in training as they prepare their recruits for two combat environments, land and space. They go in depth into infantry combat in space and learn basic fighter pilot skills.

Rank: 1st Lieutenant

Personality: Confident in his abilities and his men's abilities. He gives off a very strong and charismatic atmosphere that also inspires those he's around to do better. While he himself doesn't believe so, his presence in the room dramatically changes the mood.

Weapons

UTAM Type-3BAR[ hr-vs-gl]  - A heavy assault rifle version of the Type 3. It is limited to only energy rounds and has a slower fire rate, but is very accurate and like any weapon of its class, it will deal a lot of damage to any enemy struck by one of its bolts. Being an energy weapon, the Type-3BAR[ h-vs-gl ]  is very effective against droids and other robotics, but its effectiveness is limited against human combatants.

  • Grenade Launcher: Attached underneath the barrel is a grenade launcher that can be used to deploy different types of grenades across the battlefield.
  • Variable Zoom Scope: Allows its user to adjust the zoom when looking down the sights.

LS6 Penetrator - The legendary revolver carried by the UTA infantry. This one is customized to be a real armor penetrating weapon effective against vehicles.

STR 5D Marine - The actual prescribed standard issue handgun of the UTA infantrymen. It is a ballistic semi-automatic pistol with decent range and accuracy. Great against enemy infantry who are within its short range.

Vehicle

LS BR:5000 Hover Bike Whitefield Custom - A civilian hover bike that Chester insists on using for operations on the ground. Due to many modifications by Chester, it outperforms pretty much all the other bikes available while still providing decent protection for its rider via a personal shield generator. However, Chester cannot shoot and drive while the shield generator is up. The bike is usually kept on whatever transport ship he is on for safekeeping and will automatically be deployed to him or to a squad mate when called upon.

Equipment.

UTA Infantry Standard Armor

4 Anti-Vehicle Grenades*

4 Stun Grenades*

*note - grenades can be deployed by hand or via grenade launcher for long distance.

Reason for recruitment.

Like any other soldier in the UTA Military, he joined to fight for and protect his homeland.  If I may ask, what countries of earth have became your faction? For example, for mine, middle eastern countries (Based on today's Arab League) came together to create mine. As you have a colony called Texas, i'm guessing the U.S.A is one of them.

Most likely the rest of them idk. Its a conglomerate of the nations and people willing to join. So far, Korea, Japan, USA, EU, India, and China.

IMPORTANT PEOPLE UPDATE:

Foreword: I realized that I put hell of a lot of people that actually sorta mattered, but I didn't put a face to them. So I'll do that now and update their more detailed info.

Alliance Trivia: Dragons and their Pilots

The UTA-SC Dragon is the staple starfighter of the United Terran Alliance Star Corps. With thousands among their ranks, its easy to see that this is an obvious fact. That wasn't the case 20 years ago. Prior to the 2nd Rebellion, the Drone Gunship was the staple starfighter for the Star Corps with its superior firepower added to the fact that it was unmanned, meant no loss of human life when they were shot down. However, the Rebellion began using a new technology unknown to the Alliance called, "Target Disruptor Smoke (TDS)." This powdery substance, made of small bits of a special type of glass, messes with many different automatic targetting systems. This innovation in anti-computer technology forced the Alliance to bring about the creation of the Dragon.

While casualties skyrocketed during the first years of the "Flying Coffins" deployment, the Alliance began seeing results. The manned aircraft were not limited to the use of their targetting computers, countering the TDS. The Alliance eventually overcame their opposition through regaining control of the skies, and the rebellion was quelled. Over the years the lost art of dogfighting was rediscovered and refined as pilots and their mentors trained day in and day out, referring to archives from the 20th and 21st century.

This training finally paid off during the Ademarian Campaign. Where in the 1st Battle against the Al-Quhr, Dragon Wings dismantled the Al-Quhr fleet. Outperforming the much larger destroyers in taking down Al-Quhr cruisers. Then against the IEL, Dragon pilots successfully fended off the enemy counter attack while the fleet made their retreat from the system.

Not to mention this is pretty biased post lol

Alliance Trivia: The Title of Grand Admiral

The title of Grand Admiral (Navy or Star Corps) or Grand Moff (Army) is a fairly rare title granted only to the most qualified Admiral or equivalent rank officer during periods of declared war. During such times, they have absolute control over the armed forces of the United Terran Alliance. The only decisions that outrank theirs are the collective decisions of the UTA High Council and the Prime Minister of the UTA. Being that those decisions made by politicians are often too slow for active combat, the Grand Admiral generally has complete control of every action that the military takes. However, these powers can be removed at a moment's notice when the High Council votes to declare peace time, or if resolution has been drawn up with the UTA and its opposing military force, and finally if these powers are forcibly removed.

While this law of balance between the government and its military has been kept for years, with the title being granted during the war between the Principality of Atlus and the Earth Federation (the name of the UTA at the time). This law was kept sacred for hundreds of years dating back to the UTA's creation in the late 21st century. The title of Grand Admiral has been granted and taken away many times, being passed between different military men and women without the need to employ force to involuntarily remove the title. This was not until the 24th Century with the rise of Grand Admiral Nikrat and his iron grip on the title and its powers. After the 2nd Rebellion was quelled 20 years ago, Nikrat, believing that it was a necessary action to insure peace, held onto the title and expanded the UTA's military influence over the years. Due to his actions as Grand Admiral during peace time, Nikrat is credited with the creation of the UTA's military might at its current form.

However his change towards an expansionist policy to a suicidal level to ensure his legacy lead to the sudden coup crafted by his student and eventual successor, Admiral Praneesh Nwarhta. Forcefully taking away that title of course through assassination. Though it might not seem like Nwarhta deserved the title due to his treasonous actions. He was awarded it after his name was cleared and was pardoned by the High Council and the Prime Minister, and being the most qualified candidate as he was Nikrat's student. Otherwise the title would have been passed to Rear Admiral Joanne Hallevy as it appeared she was not included in Nikrat's plot.

Alliance Trivia - Codes: "The Train is Two Hours Early"

In human history, the use of deceptive tactics has always been key to military success. As such it comes down to commanders to be able to perceive their enemy's strategy and make sure that their own tactics are not discovered.

The military code, "The Train is Two Hours Early,"  is the callsign that is given when an enemy attempts to sneak itself into enemy territory as a benign object with of course the most famous example of this tactic being employed by Odysseus during the Trojan War with his Trojan Horse. The strategy has been used again and again throughout history in different wars of course with different variations. With examples such as the Japanese waving false White Surrender Flags in order to lure in Allied Troops for easy kills and so on or even old computer viruses disguised as legitimate software being downloaded onto a computer and destroying the entire network. Years of experience has lead the Alliance to of course form counter measures for the tactic and its various forms, of course coming up with a specific code for when the Trojan Horse is detected.

The "Train is Two Hours Early" line comes from an old 21st century Japanese animation depicting guards at an outpost watching trains containing the survivors of a zombie apocalypse. One of these trains, arriving two hours ahead of schedule, contained a load of zombies instead of survivors. It then crashed into the fortress, destroying its walls and infecting its inhabitants with the zombie virus. Being an unrecognizable cult reference by contemporary standards, the code is meant to confuse enemies that happen to tap into allied communications.
