Our Story begins in a museum off the coast of Porto, Portugal. When expert thief, Victoria is hired to steal a painting she has no idea what she's getting herself into.
After a shocking betrayal by the man who hired her, she narrowly avoids death when a mysterious stranger from her past comes to her rescue.
Victoria only met Erich Reynard briefly, at a turning point in her career, but their reunion couldn't be better timed. Erich explains to Victoria how he has been tracking Davenport for over a year now and requests her assistance in taking him down.
Reluctant at first, Victoria finally agrees...
From Portugal, they travel to the beautiful beaches and perilous waters of Kingston, Jamaica, where Erich finds refuge in a resort run by an old friend.
After an interesting night of introductions, and introspection, Victoria and Erich set off the following morning, following the clues they discovered on the painting Victoria stole from Porto's museum, to the wreck of a pirate vessel.
A dangerous dive into the wreck wins them little more than an empty chest, and worse yet, upon returning to the resort the pair discovers they have been followed.
With little time to act, they take a boat and escape down to Miami.
Upon arriving in Miami, Victoria seeks out a confidant and source, a man thought to be dead by a large portion of the world. The man offers Victoria and Erich the tools they need to disappear, and some important information regarding the wreckage they had salvaged.
With this new information, they travel to a museum in the city, where they locate a man named Simon Kent, a man responsible for the preservation and categorizing of all of the artifacts discovered months earlier in that same wreckage, including a sextant Erich is sure will provide the clues they need to find the Scepter.
Unfortunately, they aren't the only ones at the museum.... Realizing they've been followed again, Victoria and Erich are forced to escape with Simon.
Arriving at an abandoned museum, Victoria discovers she has been bugged with a tracking device. Furious, she destroys it and free of their stalkers, they charter a flight to Munich, Germany, to lay low.
In Munich the trio arrives at Erich's family home, an enormous manor in the countryside. Here, Victoria and Erich each share a rare moment of vulnerability as Erich explains about his father's death and Victoria shares her true connection with Ian Davenport.
As they begin to open up to one another, Simon interrupts with news that he's discovered an auctioneer in London who may know a thing or two about the sextant.
Without hesitating, they book their trip to the foggy city.
In London, England they locate a man named Nigel Lighton... a pompous, arrogant know-it-all in possession of a journal he claims details not only detailed information on the sextant, but also on the Scepter, itself. Nigel, however, refuses to impart any information to the trio without proper compensation.
Frustration, Erich and Victoria are ready to throw in the towel when Simon suggests they steal the journal during Nigel's annual auctioneers benefit.
The heist is a thrilling success, and Nigel's journal provides crucial information and with this they are able to discover the location of a diary, written by one Anne Bonny, said to hold the very coordinates where the Scepter was last kept.
They head to Burmuda...
In Burmuda, the story comes to a head in a daring, thrilling chase for the Scepter.
Victoria/Red
'Victoria' will tell you plain and simple... the world is monochromatic. Nothing has ever been strictly black or white, and anyone who tells you different is selling you something.
She is a drifter now. Victoria is, of course, an alias. She uses no last name because she is never anywhere long enough to need one. Her work largely consists of thefts, the kind of which only hurt folks who can afford it.
She is beautiful, in a Grace Kelly way, with pale skin, brilliant red hair and wide side, deep blue eyes that seem kinder than the demeanor she wears.
Erich Reynard
A former member of the secret organization known as the Brotherhood of Âme Gardiens. Essentially fired for refusing to follow orders, Erich became a freelance relic hunter and protector.
He is exceptionally tall and well built, with slightly shaggy blonde hair and smoky blue eyes, and a chiseled-from-stone Teutonic figure. His square jaw is often set with a fixed determination that says he means business, even if that guaranteed he wouldn't be much fun at parties.
Simon Kent
Simon is a nerd to the Nth degree. An expert in underwater archaeology, as well as a skilled computer programmer, he has spent the majority of his life battling the stereotype people in his position wind up shuffled into.
He is tall, thin and has a mop of brown curls and large brown eyes that seem to reflect an older quality than his age belays.
He is head over heels, madly in love with a girl named Hannah, whom he works with at the museum in Miami.
