The one thing I didn't think of

The Birds don't usually try to kill them. They're mostly for usurping power. I'd say they're mostly easily killed by the wooden stake to the heart, but I'd have to think on that. XD

I'm thinking that might be it. But again, the Birds don't really focus on killing all that much.

I think that would make this group more than unique if they teach not to kill. Giving them that humanity streak that you would think wouldn't be there. lol Thank god, poor Lyra would feel cornered if the group was killing vampires
