Of Fonteyns and Uncaged Birds...

Aleron Riskel Fonteyn (23)~ Kirito Kei Kirito Kei
Aleron is cold and calculating, much like his parents. The dignity of his race matters the most to him, and he believes his siblings to be incredibly naive to support the side of humans. To servants, he's harsh and demanding, and his brother and sister are nod different. His parents dote on him, much to the ire of the second son and first daughter.

Phoenix Edmond Fonteyn (19)~ Aukanai Aukanai
Phoenix is young and reckless but also very thoughtful. He chooses his words carefully and tends to think through things before deciding on an action. Though his parents favor Aleron, they praise him on his skill in war strategy and critical thinking. He's often consulted on how to fix a problem within the kingdom such as natural disasters, crime sprees, and other concerns.

Lyllith Violeta Fonteyn (17)~ AnimeGenork AnimeGenork
Lyllith may seem weak and girly, but she's tough if given the chance. She picks fights with Aleron because of his obviously wrong ideas, but she's closer to Phoenix than practically anybody. Her parents treat her as inferior due to her status as the youngest sibling, and they insist that she marry an aristocrat. She'd rather marry someone she actually cares about, though. That's what leads her to venture outside of the castle and into the kingdom.

Duncan Mauntell (25)~ Yennie Yennie
Duncan is the leader of the Uncaged Birds. He's highly respected and trusted among his subordinates, and everyone takes his word as law. In their eyes, he's the wise leader who should take the throne once they overthrow the Fonteyns, but he'd rather leave it to someone else. Out of everyone he trusts, his lieutenant is the one he trusts the most.

Lyra Coffyn (24)~ Bellz Bellz
Lyra is Ducan's lieutenant and the secondary leader of the Birds. Duncan is the only one she truly trusts, but the others are very much like her children. She's the first to scold mischief makers and she's very no nonsense. However, there's something very vulnerable about her, and that may come from the secret that no one knows: she's a vampire.

Kentin Monteacute (18)~ Tori Bradley Tori Bradley
Kentin is the rebel Lyllith met in the city, and he's the one who convinced Duncan and the others not to kill her on the spot when they found out what she was. He doesn't particularly care for vampires, but he does value the rebellion and if there's even the slightest chance that this strategy could land them a victory, he'll take it. Normally, he does the scouting for missions the Birds carry out.

Cassiana Alington (17)~ arkadia arkadia
Cassiana is the weapons expert of the Birds, and she's the first to make it clear to Phoenix that he's not welcome here. Duncan is her idol, and she looks up to him. Some say she has a crush on him, but she always denies it vehemently. There's no room for love in a rebellion.

Duncan Mauntell

Name: Duncan Mauntell
Age: 25
Role/Position: Leader of the Uncaged Birds
Hair Color: Dark Brown, looks almost black in certain lighting
Eye Color: His eyes are blue but there is a bit of brown in his left eye.
Appearance: Duncan is of average height for men of his age, standing at 6'1". He weighs around 205 pounds, much of his body is well toned muscle with his legs and core being strong. His figure is imposing and he uses that to his advantage to cow and intimidate others.
He's handsome and he knows it. He has an easy going smile for just about anyone, excluding vampires of course. He dresses neatly, mostly in dark clothes so as to not stand out when he goes about his business.

The Man Himself

Personality: In the most basic of ways to describe him Duncan is a good man. He considers the needs and feelings of others before his own. He always wants to do the right thing though his morality system is very black and white with little room in between so the "right thing" may not necessarily be the best or smartest option. While he is outspoken and confident in what he says, he lacks natural charisma and charm though his awkwardness seems to have endeared him to the masses in spite of that. Duncan is brave and is willing to step up and lead when no one else will.
Although is quick to judge and make decisions, Duncan is not so bullheaded that he won't listen to wise council when it's offered.
He has a way of making a person feel like they are the only one in the world. When he focuses on you he gives you his full attention, valuing what you have to say. Some would even describe him as sweet as he's naturally just nice.
He's also surprisingly intelligent and well learned. He had a good education which fostered his love of reading and learning. His mind is sharp and tactical, making him an excellent strategist.
But he's not without his faults. Though he is calculating considers his every move when it really counts, Duncan is headstrong and impulsive when it comes to matters in his personal life and relationships. Again he is quick to pass judgement on people if he knows anything about them and doesn't like what he sees. He can be provoked to anger a bit too easily and he does not give his trust away until a person has proved themselves to be worth it. He's actually quite paranoid and worries entirely too much about possibilities that may never come to pass. Duncan very much fears failing and he hates to be a disappointment. Duncan greatly values trust and honesty - if you break those values he has no problem cutting you out of his life permanently.

Skills: Leadership, negotiation, plotting & planning, horseback riding
Likes: Duncan loves alcohol, greasy food, rainy nights, warm soft beds, spending the night in the company of a beautiful woman, reading & researching, laying out in the grass and stargazing, caring for and breeding horses
Dislikes: Duncan hates cats as he's allergic, hates vampires and the servitude and oppression they impose on his people

History: Duncan is the third child born to Lydia and Kristoph Mauntell, having two elder sisters Aniyah and Kristina. His family is actually fairly well off. His father is a successful merchant who imports and exports exotic goods into the city while his mother is a talented seamstress and portrait painter. His parents both placed emphasis on the importance of a good education for their children and worked very hard to make sure the three attended the best school available to them. Duncan didn't always mix with school until he discovered the joys of reading. He would spend hours locked away in his room with his nose in a book, transported to other worlds by the rows of text. He grew to appreciate his parents insistence on education as he learned a great deal about the world.

His relationship with vampires did not take a dark turn until he was around the age of 14. His eldest sister had caught the eye of the vampire king and the beast insisted on having her. His parents were of course powerless to say no and his sister was whisked off to the palace to become a blood slave - and likely a bed slave. Over 10 years later and the family still has not seen even a glimpse of her though they know she still lives from the small "fee" the crown sends them yearly as a token of "thanks" for their daughters service. He'd harbored a hatred for the vampires since then but that was not the final strike. That came when just 5 years ago, Duncan's beloved uncle Edmund Mauntell along with a dozen other community leaders were captured, tried and publicly executed for inciting rebellion against the crown. Wanting revenge, Duncan and others gathered together and began to build upon what his uncle had started. They created an more organized rebellion and named it the Uncaged Birds. Because of his intelligence and natural disposition towards leading, Duncan was named the leader of the rebellion. A position which he accepted wholeheartedly. Now was the time to strike back and release the human race from suffering at the hands of vampires once and for all.

Relationships & Additional Info

Weapons: Duncan is not very skilled with using any weapons at all. But Cassiana has been teaching him to use guns which he is quite enjoying learning. He keeps a pistol she gifted him with on his persons at all times.

Relationships

Cassiana Allington -
relationship blurb here

Lyra Coffyn - He trusts her implicitly and has often reminded the birds that if something should happen to him they should look to Lyra for leadership. He considers her to be one of his best and truest friends and would do absolutely anything for her.

Kentin Monteacute - Duncan considers Kentin to be a bit of a brat but some of the kid reminds him of himself. He admires the kids spirit and finds his spying skills to be very useful.

Lyllith Violeta Fonteyn - He does not trust her at all but at the urging of Kentin and Lyra has decided to allow her to stay within their ranks.

HAIR COLORChocolate Brown
EYE COLOR ➨ Amber
DETAILED ➨ Cassiana is relatively of average height; lithely built from her consistent use of weapons. While her almost waist long hair is typically pulled up high to avoid becoming a distraction during training, she wears it down more often than not; twisting the front locks over the tops of her ears to frame her face just so.

Rarely does she dress as most women are required to in their kingdom, as her attire compliments her role within the Birds; leather trousers, tunic covered by a dark corset with boots to complete the look. It allows her enough freedom to move without restriction.

▋ ● HAWTHORN
» The Illusionist «
Cassiana has a natural thirst for knowledge and having honed her mind over the years to be as sharp as any blade she may wield, Cass is able to worm her way out of most situations. While she has faced many hardships to get her to where she is today, Cass still retains some of her naive adolescence.

▋ ● TYPE 6 » The Loyalist «
Ruled by her loyalty to the Birds, Cassiana sets out to be as helpful as she can to those within their rebellion; not because she feels its something she must do, but because it's just who she is.

▋ ● MELANCHOLIC » The Perfectionist «
Self deprecating and critical of herself, Cassiana struggles to meet her own expectations day to day. As a proclaimed weapons expert in the Birds, she has a lot to live up to and the mere thought of letting anyone down puts her in a sour mood. She is judgmental of others, too - in her mind, everyone should strive to be the best person they can be; anything less is a disservice to oneself.

▋ ● INTJ » The Architect «
Cassiana has never met a weapon she doesn't like. She excels in weaponry, not only their many uses and how to craft them - but exactly how to use them to their full potential. Strategic, hard-working and independent are just a few ideals she holds herself too.

H I S T O R Y

Cassiana was born and raised impoverished in the slums of Fontenell, and she's known the greasy streets her entire life. From the moment she could walk, her father forced her into self defense classes with an ex-military operative while her mother traded Cassiana's rations for alcohol. When her father passed away from a medical issue they had no money to treat, Cassiana's mother became even more greedy and self destructive than before; emotionally abusive, drunk, and worst of all - handing her daughter over to the Payne's for money.

The Payne's weren't very well known for their high class status which they certainly had, but more so for their history of enslaving humans for their blood supply in return for payment. It was an easy way to prey on the suffering and gain from it, like most rich families. Cassiana was just another one of their victims for the youngest daughter to toy with when she was bored.

Cass' mother did not use the money to rebuild their broken home, to fix her addiction or even trade the raggedy clothes for anything more appropriate; but to continue her endeavors in drinking until Cassiana found her in a pool of her own vomit at only thirteen.

With nowhere else to go, Cassiana resigned to her life with the Payne's as a blood slave for the majority of her teen years until one fateful day - Duncan Mauntell saved her from the Payne's in an operation led by the Birds. He took her in, introduced her to the ways of their organisation and offered her a place among them.

It took time to adjust until she saw her mentor Rowan, the ex-military operative that assisted her when she was younger. Rowan taught her more about weaponry, how to defend herself against vampires and how to kill them if the situation called for it. At the age of 16, Cassiana has mastered the many techniques of various weapons and the most effective way to use each one. She became the expert over Rowan, she became the go-to for all things weaponry related.

Now she has only three very simple goals in mind: find her mother, help overthrow the Fonteyn's and stop the Payne's continuous use of blood slaves - no matter the cost.

WEAPONS

Cass' preferred weapon of choice is her Crossbow, most effective for long distance and what the rebellion would use in most operations. It was the first weapon she picked up when learning the different techniques of battle - on an operation, it'll be draped over her back, fastened there by a leather strap going diagonally across her chest.

Whilst the crossbow is among her favorites, Cass would ultimately be lost without her
Dagger, the first weapon she crafted herself with help from her mentor. It's on her at all times, secured to her upper right thigh in plain sight for easy access; mostly used as a last resort as she is skilled enough in close combat with her fighting technique.

RELATIONSHIPS
Aleron Riskel Fonteyn
She hates him with a fiery passion.

Phoenix Edmond Fonteyn
Unhappy with his sudden acceptance into the Birds, Cassiana had said as much the first chance she got. It didn't help that the Vampire talked back to her. She avoids him when she can and when in his presence, she finds something to argue about. He just has that affect on her.

Lyllith Violeta Fonteyn
Rocky, at best.

Duncan Mauntell
While Duncan was not the first member of the Birds she met, he was the one that left a lasting impression. They had a simple arrangement when Cassiana started her new 'job' in their organisation; she assisted him with weaponry and he taught her the fundamentals of leadership. They had a natural friendship and he became someone she looked up to... a lot.

Lyra Coffyn
They have a civil but strained relationship as Cassiana is increasingly annoyed by the amount of time Lyra spends with Duncan. While they have a very back and forth relationship, Cass undoubtedly trusts Lyra with her life and would never take that for granted.

Kentin Monteacute
Kentin is the brother she never wanted, but would never trade.

“If someone puts their hands on you make sure they never put their hands on anybody else again.”
Malcolm X

Hair Color: (and style) Blonde, long and wavy or curled.

Eye Color: (and other adjectives if you like) Emerald

Appearance: (a more detailed description; include their attire){/slide}
Lyra is normally seen wearing some sort of pants and shirt combination. Which put her ahead of her time, especially as an older vampire. She was never one for the dresses and the corsets and all the pain that went with it. Her wardrobe is scarce, but she is normally seen wearing black tight fit pants, a loose black or blue shirt and black boots. She has a tattoo on the nape of her neck, signifying what coven she used to belong to.

Personality: (what they're like) Lyra is first a foremost a warrior. Fighting most of her life for survival, she carries weight on her shoulders. She is outspoken and can sometimes come across as aggressive or rude. She will get done what needs to be without any question, especially if its to protect the Birds. She is a no funny business woman, so whenever she is around, people are normally doing what they are suppose to be. She doesn't just give her trust to anyone...except for Duncan. Lyra is also a mother hen. Even though she doesn't like to admit it, she cares fiercely for the Birds and everyone involved, someone messes with them..you better watch your back. She can be stubborn a lot of the time and it takes a lot for her to change her mind. She is loyal and kind, but watch out for the sarcastic wit and sass that she gives you. You will find yourself questioning whether or not she is serious, and she will definitely leave you wondering. She carries a wisdom that seems far beyond her years, which is thanks to her being a vampire, and she is often sharing that wisdom. It is also a constant struggle for her, being a vampire. She hates herself at times for what she is and what she can do. She wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Skills: (what they're good at)
Skilled fighter.
Speaks a few different languages.
knows more about the vampire race than most of the Birds, including the history.
Sarcastic comeback game is so strongXD
Likes: (self-explanatory)

*any type of literature really.

Dislikes: (self-explanatory)
*Slackers
*horsing around when its not appropriate.

History: (their past, basically; might require some collaboration with others) Lyra, even though no one knows, was actually born 5 decades before any of this started, which would make her 50. Forever young, Lyra was frozen in time after an attack in her small village. Leaving her husband dead along with her only child. She was salvaged, the coven who had attacked found 'value' in her and decided to turn her into one of them. She finally broke away from the coven when they were attacked by the Birds. Where she met Duncan for the first time. She started from the bottom and slowly worked her way to the top and now she is lieutenant. (*Short I know but i want to make sure no one object:D*)

Miscellaneous

Weapons: (what type of weapon do they use/are likely to use) Traditional Bow/Arrow or Crossbow. She is also fond of sword play.

Relationships: (what type of relationship do they have with other characters; probably needs collaboration as well)

Duncan- As you might imagine, over the few years that they have known each other, they have gotten very very close. Often people wonder when they are going to admit the feelings that they have for each other, both seemingly too stubborn to do so. He is her truest and best friend, and she would go to the ends of the earth and back for him. She has refrained from making any sort of moves, besides casual flirting, because she is afraid that he will find out the truth and hate her for it.

Cassiana- Although it is very clear of her little crush on Duncan, Lyra of course, acts with maturity and grace. Sometimes, their relationship is a little strained. Especially when the youngling talks back. But she cares for the girl just as if she was her own child.

Other: (anything else you want to include)

Lyllith Violeta Fonteyn

40980962ebfb44f4dd17a68d14e96b81.jpg
Basics

Name: Lyllith Violeta Fonteyn
Age: 17
Role/Position: First Princess of the Fonteyn Family
Appearance

Hair Color: wavy, chestnut brown
Eye Color: pale, sky blue
Appearance:
Lyllith, while petite, has an air of confidence around her. Her posture is nearly perfect, and her eyes are sharp and observant. Wavy chestnut hair tumbles down to halfway down her black, and she chooses it not to style it in a fanciful arrangement except when she goes out to meet the Birds (in which case she ties it back in a ponytail). Her skin is an almost creamy white with freckles dotting parts of her face from time in the sun. Normally, her face is free of makeup, as she believes that being required to wear it is absolutely ridiculous.

When in the castle, Lyllith will wear the fancy gowns and jewelry expected of her station, though a frown often accompanies such outfits. When she ventures outside of the palace, however, she wears a tightly fitted tunic and pants tucked into boots. Sometimes she'll wear a corset instead of a tunic, but either way, she wears a cloak over the outfit to hide her face. As she's still young, her fangs are rather unnoticeable, and she's started to master the art of retracting them.
Personality

Personality:
Lyllith is naturally rebellious and headstrong. Within her family, she's belligerent and opinionated, especially when dealing with her elder brother, Aleron. In front of the court and the aristocracy, however, she plays along to the part of the perfect princess, with lovely manners and decorum. She collects gossip she feels is important and ignores what she doesn't, in hopes of being able to pass them on to the Birds.

Despite not being the direct perpetrator, Lyllith feels terribly guilty for the oppression vampires have inflicted the humans with, which is why she wants to do everything she can to help the Birds. Though she doesn't hate her kind, she hates the rules of the monarchy. She knows that somewhere out there are other vampires who feel the same way she does about it, though they're too afraid to show it. This is half the reason she's so close to Phoenix; he understands her views and helps her with the Birds' rebellion.

She knows she's not fit as any sort of leader or fighter, but if she can help in any small way to take down her parents and Aleron, she'll take the risk.

Skills:
-gathering information
-acting like she doesn't care/does care
-arguing with Aleron
Likes:
-Phoenix
-the Birds
-rebelling
-wearing pants
Dislikes:
-Aleron and her parents
-unfair treatment of humans
-being looked down on
-stuffy aristocrats

History

History:
From the moment she was born, Lyllith's parents knew they'd be able to marry her off to some aristocrat to strengthen their relations with the court. As a little girl, she had a strictly regimented schedule full of lessons on manners and decorum, not to mention how to properly act as a princess. Lyllith despised these lessons with all her heart, and she would often try to escape them. The time she got with her brothers was precious to her.

This was a time when Lyllith still looked up to her older brother, who seemed so mature, so responsible. Yes, she spent far more time with Phoenix, but Aleron was always the silent figure she watched with awe. That is, until she learned of the oppression of humans. It was just a small word from a servant, and with kind and gentle urging, she discovered what life was really like for humans outside of the castle. Fontenell had somehow managed to pull this off for a millennia, and that didn't sit well with Lyllith.

From then on, Lyllith committed small acts of rebellion, from refusing to punish a human servant for a mistake to arguing with Aleron over how to rule the kingdom. Her position wasn't ideal--she was expected to marry an aristocrat, after all--but that didn't stop her from trying. Finally, she decided to leave the castle one night under cover of darkness. The darkness her kind took so well to.

With a cloak to cover her face, she sneaked away from the castle and into the capital city. The more she explored the city, the more she realized how terrible life for humans was. There was the occasional scream of an attack by a common vampire or a human being dragged away to be a blood slave. On the streets, Lyllith met Kentin, who, thinking she was a lone human, took her to the base of the Uncaged Birds.

Lyllith was amazed by the organization. Everyone seemed lively and dedicated, certainly more than she'd ever been to her duty. She begged to join, and the Birds seemed to consider it. However, someone tripped over her cloak, and her hood was thrown back, revealing gaping mouth and therefore her fangs. The Birds were ready to kill her right there, but Kentin stopped them. He proposed an idea to let her join them and spy on the castle for them. She agreed to the terms, and she became a Bird. (Phoenix did, too, since apparently he'd been following her. He got a sound scolding later.)

Lyllith will defend the Birds to her last breath, and she will do anything to help them succeed in overthrowing Aleron.
Miscellaneous

Weapons:
Lyllith isn't trained to use any sort of weapon, though she does carry a letter opener at all times and has been practicing how to use daggers. ("Only a real lady uses a letter opener to defend herself.")
Relationships:
Aleron--
Phoenix--
Duncan--
Lyra--
Kentin--
Cassiana--
Other:
Lyllith cannot hold her liquor. She's extremely giggly and flirty when drunk.

BASICS

FULL NAME
[ Phoenix Edmond Fonteyn]
AGE
[ 19 ]
ROLE
[ Prince ]

PERSONALITY

Phoenix loves the sense of danger, perhaps that is why he is a big risk taker. He most definitely does some stupid and reckless things all for the sake of getting an adrenaline rush. Although despite the reckless things he might do, he does take the moment to analyse the situation and think before he acts, for dying without a cause would be shameful and idiotic.
Phoenix has great manners, and he knows how to act when and where. Among most family, he is quiet and does not speak unless spoken to, for he really has nothing nice to say. By himself, he finds entertainment in small, simple objects or perhaps he just would round up some trouble makers.
He seems to worry over Lyllith alot, for all the things their parents force her into. Though, he is closest to Lyllith, he does not tend to talk openly with her, for knows that she is certainly in a worse position, and therefore he feels as though he doesn't deserve to complain.
In social situations, Phoenix can be slow at interpreting meanings behind words, or understanding jokes, explanations and other of the sort. But he tends to understand most jokes and loves having a good laugh. Though, he is not quick to trust a person or like them, it does not mean he is hostile or unwelcoming. However, if he comes to dislikes a person, insults and back talk will become common practice - directly or indirectly.
His loyalty to Lyllith knows no bounds, and for her sake, he will keep his mouth sealed about the Birds. Furthermore, he will even take blame for her, and take the fall for Lyllith, for anything.

APPEARANCE

HAIR COLOR
[ Chestnut Brown - straight, layered cut ]
EYE COLOR
[ Soft Brown ]

Phoenix stands at a pretty average height of 168cm.
His chestnut brown hair has ruffled ends, a fringe that is almost always pushed back and a layered cut. He has a high forehead, oval-ish shaped face with a rounded jawline. He has round shaped eyes - having a soft brown color - and short eyelashes.
Though Phoenix finds comfort wearing more casual clothes most often - a white blouse, black overcoat and black pants. On the occasion of family dinners, the presence of other royalties, he will be proper and wear more formal clothing.

HISTORY

The second born child, and second prince to the Fonteyn family, Phoenix has never served any real purpose or role in the family. Though, he is not phased about this in the least, for perhaps Phoenix enjoys no pressuring responsibilities. Of course, as a Prince, he was to been given a high class education and strict discipline to shape him to be a proper Prince. He was thrown into various lessons such as harp practice, calligraphy writing and combat training - in which Phoenix excelled in calligraphy writing, and was quite bad at playing the harp, mostly due to his unwilling attitude.. As a child, Phoenix was quite stubborn, and in a way he still is. He rarely listens to orders and tends to ignore the way his parents dismiss him, as if he was significantly less important than Aleron, and less valuable than Lyllith. Though he isn't necessarily needed in the family, Phoenix is not angry or upset about such, for he is perfectly fine just being with his sister as much as he can, and helping her out.

Due to his fondness and attachment to his sister, ever since childhood, Phoenix has the tendency of following Lyllith. And still he does. As he had been wondering the castle on the night his sister had sneaked out, and out of curiosity and concern he had followed her.Though, he had certainly felt guilty for doing such, for it could be betraying his sister's trust. However, he did not stop, following her all the way to the hide out for a rebellion group. And, perhaps, out of a sense or need to protect his little sister, he had to join Lyllith on this task. As, leaving her to do such on her own, was not a brotherly thing to do. Hence this new development, Phoenix is always going to cover for Lyllith in order to keep this secret about the Birds hidden, for he knows that Lyllith does not want anything to happen to the Birds, as well as the fact that Phoenix, despite him not verbally saying, supports their cause. As, he does hope for the Fonteyn rule to be squashed, for his brother's suppressing ideals, and Phoenix's desire to be in another life than of royalty and for a more free, exciting and meaningful life..

Lyllith Violeta Fonteyn
Little sister Lyllith has always been someone who Phoenix is always ready to defend, support and comfort. She is perhaps the only family who makes the time to just be with him, no formalities or distance. Truly, Phoenix loves his sister to bits and would hate for her to go where he cannot follow.

Aleron Riskel Fonteyn
Big brother Aleron is not someone who Phoenix respects, often bagging him out behind his back. Though, of course, Phoenix knows his place, and therefore keeps his mouth shut in front of Aleron. However, Phoenix tends to speak in such a way, that it almost seems sarcastic.

Cassiana Alington
First impressions are vital, and perhaps first impression sstain onto a person. Since his first words to Cassiana, Phoenix has not been favoured and certainly has certainly fuelled reason to Cassiana's dislike. Though he does try to bite his tongue to not make things worse between him and the rest of the Birds, he often cannot stop himself back talking or arguing with Cassiana over things like how it should be done, or who is to blame when something goes wrong. It was seem, Phoenix has made more of an enemy than an ally.

Hair Color: Dark Brown, Spiked Cut (as shown in picture)

Eye Color: Pale, almost iridescent, blue

Appearance: Kentin is tall, standing a six feet and three inches tall. He has a very athletic body type, giving him broad shoulders and a healthily filled out frame. While he's not body-builder bulky, his muscle definition is very pronounced and he's physically a lot stronger than he looks. Kentin wears his hair in a tousled, spiked style on the top of his head, though there are a few unruly strands he's never been able to stop from falling over his forehead and into his eyes. His eyes are a very pale, almost iridescent blue, making them seem almost silver in dim light. He has a five o'clock shadow spattered over his chiseled facial features, and his eyes are very deep set, which makes look older than he is.

Kentin also has a few tattoos scattered over his body, all with a different meaning, all deeply personal and important to him. On the back of his neck, he has the infinity symbol with the words Never Give In written in calligraphy below it. He has five symbolic characters tattooed down his right forearm with the word family tattooed on his wrist below them. His back is covered in a huge tattoo that looks to be just a bunch of lines with a tree and a howling wolf in the middle. And lastly, Kentin has a triskelion with the words Never Forget tattooed beneath it.

Kentin doesn't really care much about what he wears, but he spends the majority of his time in simple plain black, green, or blue t-shirts and jeans. Sometimes when the few pairs of jeans he owns have all been confiscated so they could be washed, he'll wear athletic pants or cargo pants. When it's cold, Kentin exchanges his t-shirts for long-sleeves and wears the same green coat he's been wearing since the day he joined the rebellion. When he's completely alone, Kentin will wear nothing more than a pair of comfortable pants and his necklace, which he only ever takes off to shower. This necklace, like the jacket, have been with Kentin since the day he joined the rebellion. A small pendant that looks like a worn metal raven with a large Native American feather positioned behind it is held onto his neck with nothing more than a thin, worn, brown-leather strap.

Personality

Personality:
A Protective One - From the day he learned how to walk, Kentin has always exhibited a protective nature, especially over family and friends. He's never been one to sit by and watch someone get bullied or hurt--even if they deserve it. He'd have let Lyllith die if he was. He has a deep-rooted compassion ingrained into his bones, seared into his soul as if someone had branded him with the word. He's always trying to help, to do the right thing by everyone. Sometimes, to a fault.

An Strategic One - The moment Kentin learned how to read, he showed a level of understanding unusual to someone so young. His astute skills in strategy were there from birth, but they did not truly show until Kentin was six years old when he started to exhibit and cool-headed, level-minded way of thinking through a problem or situation and finding the best way out of it.

A Sly One - Kentin was a very hard kid to raise, simply because he was terribly difficult to keep track of. He would find the hiding spots that no one would suspect, take things and stash them places no one would find them. He would do something to get in trouble, like break a glass vase or feed his vegetables to the dog, but he would always managed to slither his way out of it. He always, always knew how to get himself out of things, and how to do things completed unnoticed, how to leave no evidence behind. That's what makes him such a valuable spy.

History

History: From the moment he arrived, very little has been known about Kentin. He rarely speaks, and when he does it is briefly. He has always refused to talk about himself or his past, or really how he even came to join the rebels at all. Because of his secretive aura, the rebels began to come to conclusions about him themselves. One thing they can all agree on is that something really bad happened to him in his life before the rebellion, something so bad he can't bring himself to speak of it. There has always been a sort of haunted shadow in his pale blue eyes.

It happened in the dead of night. My family was asleep in their beds, oblivious to the horrors about to befall them. They did not sense the danger, were not warned of their approaching assailants. Maybe--just, maybe--if they had been, they would have survived. Maybe--just, maybe--I could have saved them, could have done something to stop it. But alas, I did not. The night overtook us, chasing away the sunlight until our home was shrouded in shadows and darkness. Only this time, the night had teeth.

The day started out like any other. Started the same way every day had since the first one I could remember. It was a warm day in late July, and the leaves were just beginning to fall from the trees after spending weeks changing colors, making everything was right for the coming Autumn season. The wind had a slight chill to it, as if warning us of the cold soon to come. It was my favorite time of year; the weather was just right, the air in the atmosphere crisp with the coming cold. The perfect time for raking the leaves together in a big pile and just spending hours jumping into them with my brothers, and my mother and father. My sister was yet too young to participate in our annual leaf-jumping, so Mama set her up a playpen in the yard--just like our dog, Daisy, had. Della always cried and pouted, but Mama never coddled her, and she scolded Papa whenever he dared. She said it was because she didn't want us to grow up like spoiled rats.

I suppose if I had known sooner about the true horror of the vampires atrocities, of the oppression humans had suffered with for centuries, of the insanity and insatiable lust for blood that these vicious creatures harbored, I may have prevented it. I may have saved them. But my parents hid it from us on purpose. They didn't want us to know about the dark side of the world, too afraid it would destroy our childhood, too afraid we would grow to be so fearful, so paranoid, so shaken that we would live lives of complete solitude, as if such a way of life would hide us from beings who could scent us and track us from miles away. I don't blame for not wanting us to know; they were just a mother and a father trying to protect their three sons, their innocent daughter.

I only wish it hadn't caused me to watch every member of my family die at the hands of those monsters.

I was fourteen when my family was torn away from me, when everything I had ever known disappeared from life as if my slate had been wiped clean, as if I had not existed until now and everything was new. As if my family had never existed, like my whole life was just a lie. A figment of an overactive imagination. For a couple of years after it happened, I drove myself insane trying to go on living in a world that no longer existed, in an effort to hold on to the life I had known. I wanted to believe that what had happened, what I had watched happen to the people I loved so dearly, had never really happened at all. But in the end I could not hide the truth from myself. I was forced to relive the memories that had shredded my heart and soul like wet tissue paper. I have never--will never--forget that night.

There is a method to my madness, a strategy to my seemingly mindless actions. There is a reason I do not speak, a reason I will not look anyone in the eye. I do not want them to see. I do not want anyone to suffer my pain. No one--no one, no one, can know my secret. No soul can understand my pain, my loneliness. No human being on this bleak planet we call Earth, this broken place we call home, can ever pick up all the fractures shards of my lacerated soul and somehow--someway--sew them back together again, back inside me like they were before. No one can do it. I must suffer alone. I must use what is left of the person I was and the person I am now to avenge the untimely deaths of a family I still clung to so tightly.

That is why I hate the vampires as I do. That is why I must find the rebellion. I must join their ranks. These beasts do not deserve to walk freely on our Earth. They do not deserve to look down on us, call us weak and worthless. We are strong. Stronger than they could ever know. Strong enough to band together--to rise against the menace that is the vampire race and tear down everything they've built from the ground up. They think that because they are physically stronger that they can break us down, make us obedient servants who run to their beck and call. But the truly strong have the strength of mind, over the strength of body. They stand up against their oppressors, they strategize, they plan, they think--they fight.

Someone once said, "Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense". Not a day in my life has gone by where I haven't lived every moment playing those words in my head. They give me strength.

To stand.

To fight.

Never give up...

Never give in.

It took me two years. Two long years of running, of fighting, of thinking. Two long years of searching to find the rebellion. Two years of repeating those words in my head, of remembering why I had to do this, why I had to stand, why I had to fight. But finally--finally I have found it.

I am a rebel now. I am no longer Kentin Monteacute, the boy who lost everything, the nameless ghost drifting on a sad, silent wind. Now, Now I am Kentin Monteacute, the man who will stand and think and fight for a cause more worthy than I could ever tell.

I am an Uncaged Bird. And I am ready to fly.

Weapons:
Compound Bow
Chinese Ring Daggers
Katanas
A bottle of snake poison

Relationships:

Lyllith Fonteyn -
Duncan Mauntell - Kentin knows the man is irritated by him, seeing him as reckless and irresponsible. But he also knows that beneath his irritation is respect and admiration. Though he does purposely irritate him from time to time, Kentin also respects him. Duncan has lead the rebellion well, and Kentin couldn't ask for a better leader.
Lyra Coffyn -
Cassiana Allington - When they first met, Kentin and Cassiana really had no opinion on each other. But as they spent more time in they rebellion together, they developed a familial relationship. She reminds him of the younger sister he lost, and he'd protect her with his life if ever faced with the need. You will often see the two of them engaging in playful bickering, as if they truly were siblings.
