Three mercenaries with no morals. One good man who wants to change them.

Also superpowers and things.

(IDK I'm not good at describing things, this is just a crazy little idea me and a couple o buds thought up)

Uriel ran across the rooftops of the Mercantile District of the royal city of Arkos in pursuit of a petty thief who stole a reasonable amount of money from one of the vendors. "You can't run from me," Uriel says to himself as he leaps along the rooftops.

Juliana stalked in the shadowy market, following her target, a wealthy nobleman by the name of Edward Brightsword. What a stupid name. He was wearing fine blue clothing, in the latest fashion of the lazy assholes noblemen. He was surrounded by about 15 bodyguards, which seemed excessive. Well, since someone did want him dead, after all, so it was fairly warranted, but still. It made her and Lilith's jobs a lot harder. She was waiting for Lilith to distract them, which should happen any second now...

Lilith kept an eye on her 'partner', Juliana. That girl was always one hairs trigger away from screwing something up. She had no patience what so ever. She wasn't even entirely sure why she stuck around the girl either. Maybe it was to get back at her for the fight they had when they first met? She did lose but not my much. Whatever the reason, she didn't need to think about it right at this moment. Right now, they had a target to take down and boy was it going to be a hard one.

Lilith decided to walk around the building, putting her in front of the target and his men. Gettting into the right mental state and hating the tatic she just thought of, Lilith procced with haste. She walked close to the guy who was the closest to being up front. Making sure to knock into him and someone else who was walking by. Naturally, the guard pushed her and they had some words but she knew that wouldn't be enough to distract them all, so she decided to push him back. And that's when they all should have gathered around her instead. If this worked out as well as she hoped, Juliana should have a clear shot at the noblemen.

Uriel eventually followed the thief to the market square, where he saw Edward Brightsword, the local nobleman, trouncing around with his excessive amount of bodyguards, as usual. Brightsword was a cautious noble, after all. He then noticed the thief run into one of the bodyguards, spilling all of the money he stole onto the street. The bodyguard the thief bumped in to glared at him for a moment before grabbing the thief by the arms, yelling at him and shaking the thief wildly, attracting the attention of everyone around the area. Uriel sighed and put his hands on his hips, saying, "Thieves. They never learn, do they?" He glanced back out at Brightsword with a smile on his face, shaking his head.

Juliana grinned as she saw not only Lilith, but some random thief, bump into Brightsword's guards. But then someone else walked up to him... Damn it, another complication. He seemed like some kind of hero. God, those were annoying. Why couldn't they just let her and Lilith do their damn jobs? She swore under her breath and pulled out a dagger, summoning extra shadows around her to help conceal her presence. She threw the dagger towards Brightsword's neck, and it hit him right in the spinal chord at the back of the neck, and the rich bastard fell to the ground, unmoving. Juliana smirked as the guards panicked at the loss of their master, slowly walking away, watching the aftermath.

Uriel was somewhat shocked at the sight, but he shook his head again as he walked up to the collapsed body, cracking his knuckles. "Stand back, now," Uriel ordered the guards. The guards knew who he was, so they complied and took a couple steps back, whispering to each other. Uriel held his hands adjacent to each other as a bright green orb began to glow in between his palms. He stood over the body as the orb grew little by little. One of the guards figured out what the hero was doing. Uriel was using powerful White magic to bring Brightsword back to life. He took a knee next to the dead body and placed the orb on the chest. The orb was then absorbed into the body, healing the injury in the back of the neck and restoring a pulse to the body. Brightsword gasped for air as he regained consciousness.

"Welcome back to the land of the living, Mr. Nobleman," Uriel said as he got back up, lending a hand to the revived nobleman. "May I suggest traveling around in a less conspicuous way next time?"

Brightsword grumbled at this suggestion. He didn't like Uriel very much, for various reasons, but nevertheless he thanked Uriel for the help.

"Just remember, I can only revive people once, so don't get killed again." Uriel whispered this to Brightsword as he took a glance at the would-be killer with a smile. He drew his magic sword and held it at the ready, just in case the assassin were to attack again.

"Ah, bollocks," Juliana muttered as the hero resurrected her target. "Can't you just let me do my job?!" She said irritably as she drew her second dagger and threw it at him. She wasn't scared of him, not in the slightest. Heroes were all talk. She ignited a flame in her palm, then drew her rapier, right after the dagger left her hand. She hoped Lilith would help, if this guy did turn out to be a decent opponent.

Lilith grinded her teeth together as she watched the hero revive her fallen target. Her lip curled in a small snarl and glared her emerald eyes at him. No one messed her money. Pushing her way through the throngs of the noblemen's guards, Lilith walked closer to the hero. She took a glance at Juliana and was glad to see that she wasn't going to take this situation lightly. Well she could say one thing about the girl, she always came in handy when ever they were in stiuations like this.

Standing behind the hero, Lilith drew her crossbow and lined it up at his back, slightly to the left. If he even so much as twitched, she was going the put an arrow through his chest. She was about sick of seeing heroes and thought the world could do without one more. She took a calm breath in, reading herself for even the slighest movement from him. Lilith also stole another glance to her compainion, making sure that she was just as ready as she was.

A grin appeared on Uriel's face as time seemed to slow down for him. He could see the dagger flying straight at him as he sensed another person aim a crossbow at his chest. He quickly pushed Brightsword to the ground so he wouldn't get caught in the cross fire, then threw his blade into the air. Just before the dagger impaled him, he warped to his sword, which was spinning in the air, and grabbed the handle with ease. Uriel then tossed his sword at the ground just behind the one who threw the dagger, restraining her and her hand so that she wouldn't fight back, then turned to face the one with the crossbow. "Amateurs, both of you," He told the one he was restraining.

"Get. Off. Me!" Juliana growled slowly as she lit a spark in the hand that the hero was restraining. She quickly pulled away from him, then pulled out her rapier. "And I am not an amateur!" She said as she lunged forward at the hero with her rapier, aiming for his heart.

"Tch", was all that Lilith said as she watched her partener get herself in a bind already. Her patients with this guy was wearing thin and she wanted to get rid of him. Without so much as a second guess, she fired her crossbow then pulled out her staff almost instantly. Seemed he was tougher than she gave him credit for. Lilith wasn't going to give him a second of compose himself after having to dodge her arrow. Aiming her staff at him, a ball of lightening formed itself at the end of it, ready to be shot at the hero. Almost in unison, both girls attacked him.

Uriel yawned as he held up his left palm, which had a bright flame in the middle, melting the tip of the rapier as it approached him. As for the arrow, Uriel put up a small barrier with his right hand at the arrow, making it shatter into pieces. "Now, you gonna stop?"

Juliana's eyes widened as her rapier's tip melted like butter. "Hey! Do you have any fucking idea how much that costs?!" She growled, and threw her ruined blade off to the side, holding her hands in a fighting position. She then shot shadows over the hero's face, then threw a right hook toward his face.

Lilith glared at the hero, even more pissed off than before. Much like Juliana, she was at the end of her patients with the guy. As her partner clouded his vision and made his face a target, Lilith did the same, only with his torso. Maybe with the both if them hitting him with a tough blow, he'd finally go down. Lilith was behind sick of seeing this guy's face.

Little did the two assassins know that they weren't actually fighting Uriel. They were just fighting an illusion created by him. The real Uriel was standing under an awning of one of the stalls as he sees the two blows shatter the image into pieces, like glass, which then vanished into dust. He then walked out from his hiding place, sarcastically clapping at the duo. "You know, you two aren't very bright for challenging the strongest hero in Arkania."

Juliana stumbled back in surprise as the hero crumbled into dust... Then she realized it was an illusion. "Just because you're the strongest," Juliana said, "Doesn't mean you're the best." She pulled another dagger out, this one from a sheathe strapped to her leg. This time she decided to not throw it, lest the hero block it. She ignited her free hand in flames, and charged at him, shoving the dagger toward his stomach and the flames towards his face.

As the girl ran at him, Uriel quickly looked around the square, seeing that all the civilians separated so that none of them would get hurt. Grinning again, he held up his right arm, with the forearm catching ablaze. "You're right. I am the best." He yelled as he punched the ground with his right arm, causing a great column of fire to emerge just in front of him.

Juliana barely managed to stop as a wall of fire appeared in front of her. She put her hands in front of her face, getting singed. "God damn it!" She cried. She looked back at her partner, then called out "I could use a little help here!"

Watching the figure crumble in front of her, Lilith muttered, "cheater. Too afraid to fight us face to face". As those words left her mouth, the hero stepped around clapping like it was some kind of show for him and he was smug vewier. Lilith looked over at him with another glare, become beyond pissed off at his arrogance. Like Juliana, she brandish her crossbow once again but didn't shoot. They both knew that if only a illusion of him could block her arrow, him in the flesh could do it just as easily. No, she armed herself with for the intent of shooting him right through the heart as soon as he came close enough and not expect it.

Lilith was ready to charge him along with Juliana right at the same time he attacked then with a gaint ass wall of fire. Lilith quickly turned around, using her armor to shield off most of that attack. Regaining her compose , she looked over at her partner,"..well it would also help if you weren't so damned bull headed and took a moment to think about your attacks. You could have been roasted alive just then, you know that?". Lilith looked at Juliana with a sigh and a shake of her head. "You need to focus more", she said rather calmly considering the situation they were in.

She was hoping that them arguing would distract the hero enough that they could attack him at once. Lilith was discretly trying to give Juliana a sign to attack when she did. Hoping that the daft girl would catch on.

Juliana sighed and backed away slowly. "I'm sorry... That was unprofessional. I let my rage get the best of me." She took a few deep breaths, calming herself down. She noticed Lilith making some sort of signal, and was pretty sure she knew what it meant. Attack him simultaneously, to catch him off guard. She grinned and waited, dagger and flaming fist raised in front of her.

As the younger-seeming one stopped attacking him, Uriel shrugged his shoulders and began to walk away as the two talked to each other, putting his hands in his pockets and calling his sword to him, which then suddenly appeared in his hand.

Lilith watched the hero walk away from out the corner of her eye. She looked over at Juliana with a smile and quietly loads her crossbow. "Now, we need to be quiet while he's walking away. We can't let him hear us. I know how loud you can be little miss. She whisperd this to Juliana where the hero couldn't hear. "One my count, we attack. Got it?". Lilith takes a deep breath in. "Okay...one...two..three...NOW!". Lilith aims her crossbow at the same spot as before and fired, hoping her partner wouldn be in tune with her.

"Got it," Juliana whispered back to Lilith, before readying herself once more. She quietly crept up to the hero, holding her dagger and waiting for Lilith's signal... She charged and slashed at the hero, lightning fast, just as Lilith fired her crossbow. She then threw a flaming uppercut with her other hand, attempting to knock the hero backwards.

Uriel quickly turned around, using the ability of the younger one to create a large shadow to engulf both of them in darkness. "Now, are you gonna stop this, or will I have to turn the two of you in?" He said to the two, now trapped in the dark cell.
