Max frowned softly "They had to go out for a while baby, we'll see them later." She murmured kissing the side of his head giggling as the dogs licked at his feet.

JD nodded some and took a deep breath and nodded "Baby just take deep breaths okay? She is going to be fine I promise." He murmured kissing her hand gently as he pulled into the parking lot and soon helped her inside

Carmen just nodded, leaning on him heavily and trying to stay calm but she couldn’t stop crying now as well, just glad when she was seen to immediately and watched JD. “I’m scared.” She mumbled to him as they were moving them to an emergency room.

“Mommy can we go to beach today?” He asked her smiling and giving her puppy dog eyes. “Please!”

Max smiled some thankful she had remembered to pack his swim clothes "Oh maybe, if you eat your breakfast!" She said giving a small laugh as she pushed him towards his food.

JD held her hand the entire way keeping as calm as he could "Its going to be okay I promise babe, you're going to be okay and so is our baby."

He nodded and quickly ran to get to his cereal while her phone started ringing with Jeff's number.

Carmen frowned gripping at his hand tighter until they were asking him to step to the side at least and she was starting to get dizzy, "I feel weird." She mumbled, shaking a little.

Max picked up and watched Jax "Hello." She said softly biting her lip as she thought about their meet next week

JD frowned and held her to him til they got to a room and her layed out on a bed "You got any idea what this could be doc?" He asked

He smiled some. “Hey, just wanted to give you a call and see how you and the little one we’re getting on?” He asked her down the line.

Carmen was still struggling and listening to them talking just gripping at JDs hand tightly. ‘We can’t be sure just yet. We’re gonna get you in for a few more tests but just try to rest for us for now ms Ramirez.’ She nodded and just looked up st JD, starting to cry.

Max gave a small smile at that but frowned rememberijg she needed to stay back from him "We're good....Jax is having a great time ." She said quietly

JD held her hand the entire time and kissed it gently taking deep breaths "Its going to be okay babe I promise." He murmured as he wiped her eyes

“It’s not fair.” She whimpered and held onto him tighter just resting her head against his shoulder, holding him close. “I just want my baby to be okay.” She whimpered shaking a little.

He smiled and nodded. “Good, remind me , when are you guys home again?” He asked her happily.

Max bit her lip and sighed quietly "Tomorrow night, and our park day is for wednesday." She said trying to keep her calm about this and also about Carmen and JD and what happened the previous night.

JD nodded some "I know babe but you gotta stay calm okay? Then we can make sure she is okay."

She just nodded and wiped at her eyes some more looking up at him. “I forgot what name we agreed on.” She mumbled wiping her eyes again as she cried more. “I hate this.” She whimpered, starting to feel weird again.

Jeff nodded. “I know, I remembered... max everything okay? You sound stressed.” He mumbled thinking about her and missing having her by his side and in his bed every night but he was worried he’d let that ship sail already.

JD chuckled softly and gave her a smile "Amelia babe, we said Amelia." He murmured kissing her hand gently

Max took a deep breath and sighed heavily "Carmen went to the hospital she ismt feeling good...Jeff I fucked up." She whimpered not able to hold it back after he asked

He frowned and took a deep breath first then carried on. “What’s going on?” He asked her quietly.

Carmen frowned and watched him some for a minute before she let out a whimper, feeling like she’d been kicked in the chest, another one came after that and then she passed out, her monitors showing up that she was going into cardiac arrest.

Max frowned and took a deep breath going to the kitchen so Jax wouldnt hear anything "I....I made out with JD..." she said quuetly wiping away the tears that had leaked out

JD went wide eyed pressing the call button and running out yelling for a nurse watching as they rushed in and he was pushed out of the room

It wasn’t long before they were moving her to the OR and letting him know that they weee taking her for an emergency c-section and they would talk to him as soon as possible then left him standing in the hall.

Jeff frowned. “Max I... I won’t lie, that was a bad idea.... does carmen know?” He asked her softly

Max nodded and sighed heavily "Yes, yes I know that for sure, I fucking hate myself for it because I don't even like JD that way! We were talking about Clayton and Ive been so goddamn lonely and it just happened..." she explained not fully knowing why she was pouring everything out to him but right now she knew he was all she had.

JD frowned and sat there taking deep breaths as he called her parents then his and finally Max but ended up leaving her a voicemail when she didnt answer.

It was his mom that got there first and found her son still sitting in the hall and sat next to him holding him close, rocking him gently. “Hows she doing?” She asked him worriedly.

Jeff frowned some. “It was a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. Long as you both know it. Carmen never has to know what happened.” He pointed out.

Max nodded and took a deep breath "What if she finds out though?" She said taking a deep breath "I know I deserve what I get but it just...I dont want to hurt her."

JD whimpered some and hugged his mother tight "I dont know...they havent said anything yet." He said quietly trying to keep his composure

He frowned some and sighed a little. “Hey, you’ve got two options. Tell her and face the consequences... of don’t tell her and maybe she never finds out.” He mumbled.

The baby was early but they’d taken her straight to the NICU and with a little luck she would be alright. Carmen on the other hand was bad. She was still in surgery and they were still trying to keep her stable enough to get her back to the ICU but every time it seemed they had it, her heart was starting to give out again.

Max nodded some and gave a small sigh "Alright well I'll um...I'll call you later okay? I need to get Jax changed." She murmured poking her head out to see him watching the dogs cautiously "By the way, do you have a dog?"

JD frowned as the nurse came out to inform him what was happening. He took deep breaths and nodded "Can I see my daughter?" He asked quietly

He nodded. “I still got Bandit.” He reminded her. “You helped me pick him out.” He smiled some at the memory.

She nodded and led him and his mom through to where they could see her. “She’s doing surprisingly well. It wasn’t pregnancy complications that caused this.” She assured him quietly then left him to sit there. They weren’t able to reach in and touch her just yet but if she stayed strong it would be much longer.

Max gave a small smile at the memory remembering how they had found Bandit as a puppy "Ive missed that lovable boy, well Jax really wants a dog, but is very cautious around them. I just wanted to tell you because I forgot it in the binder." She explained

JD looked at his daughter and took a deep breath before he turned to look at his mom "She is so tiny ma...what if they dont make it?" He asked quietly

Jeff assured her it would be alright and he was sure bandit would love him then said his goodbyes.

Jax was still staring at the dogs a little worriedly because they were so big. Bear was a Newfoundland and Dexter was a Doberman who were both bigger than him. “Mommy!” He called to her seeing as the dogs were kinda blocking his path to get to her. “Mommy! Mommy!”

She frowned and rubbed his back. “That woman is stronger than you might think. She wouldn’t leave you anytime soon. She’s gonna be okay mijo.... and so is your little girl.” She assured him, “she’s gonna be just fine.”

Max came out quickly giving a small laugh and shooing the dogs off "Dont worry baby they wont hurt you, just do what I did and they'll leave you alone." She murmured kissing his cheek before she took him to the restroom to help him brush his teeth

JD took a deep breath and nodded softly just trying to keep calm as he went back to staring at his daughter "She is so small but so beautiful."

His mom stayed with him the whole time until they came to get him for carmen about two hours later.

Jax was sitting with her at lunch time that day looking around and munching on his fruit then looked at her. “Mommy aunty carmen been gone long time.” He told her.
