Tyler leaned his arms against the counter and looked down at his empty glass. As the waitress walked by, she smiled to the handsome man and filled his glass. He nodded his thanks but continued to stare at his drink, aware of a group of girls giggling behind him.

He smirked and downed his drink, shaking his head as he thought to himself. He looked down at the ring on his hand. It seemed to glow, signalling the sun was still up. Even thought the sun wouldn't turn him to ashes, he still didn't like the daylight, preferring the night.

Jessie walked into the same diner he was in, setting up her laptop in a corner to get some school work done.

"Chai latte and a black iced tea?" The waitress guessed, smiling fondly.

"Yes, please." Jesse smiled sheepishly, then frowned as her stomach growled. "And maybe a blueberry muffin?"

"Sure thing." The waitress retreated. Jessie tucked a tendril of her dark hair behind her ear, and sighed as she opened her laptop. The work in front of her was extremely bland.

Tyler glanced over at the girl who walked in. He thought about going over, but decided not to. "Hey Marla." He called as the waitress passed. She grunted but walked over. "Yes?" She asked, raising an eyebrow at the handsome man. He smirked.

"Nothing." He replied casually. She punched his shoulder and yelled at him. "Well then stop!" He chuckled. "Relax." He said, raising his hands in the air.

The waitress walked off and the group of girls giggled. Tyler glanced down at his glass. "Maarla?" He called and she refilled his drink. Tyler smirked at the red liquid, specified for only him. "Sweet, fresh.." He muttered. His fangs were visible for a mere second before he downed the drink, licking his lips afterwards.

Jessie glanced over to see what the girls were giggling at and slightly smiled.

"Here you go, one chai latte and a black iced tea." The waitress set the drinks in front of her.

"Thank you." Jessie grinned.

"The amount of caffeine you intake is really unhealthy." The waitress teased. "Got anything planned for this weekend?"

"Mm..." Jessie hummed, thinking. "Maybe. My friend Heather is having a party, but I might just have a night in." She sipped her coffee.

"Just be careful, okay? There's been a lot of animal attacks lately."

"Don't worry, I've got my mace." She waved the waitress off.

Tyler put a dollar on the table and rose from his seat at the bar. He smirked at the waitress and she winked, giggling. He put his hands in his pocket and walked towards the door.

The group of girls rose and rushed after him. "Wait for US!!" They yelled in unison. Tyler smirked but walked out. He flinched at the sun, but shrugged it off.

Again noticing the girls, Jessie rolled her eyes. "They act like he's some sort of God." She mumbled, setting in to do her work. The next time she looked up, the place was closing. She packed her things, and left some money on the table. She stepped into the cool night air, inhaleing deeply through her nose. She noticed it was unusually dark out, the thick clouds covered the moon. She wrapped her jacket tightly around herself, feeling a little uneasy and started to head home.

Tyler noticed from his spot on the roof as the girl exited the diner. He smirked as he crouched. His eyes shone red and a man that walked past her spilled his coffee on her.

Tyler chuckled at her reaction as he sat down, his feet dangling off of the roof. His eyes shone red again and this time, a woman attempted to trip the girl.

Tyler almost feel off the roof, he was having so much fun. He stood up and put his hands in his pockets. He looked up at the sky and smirked. He turned and walked away from sight.

She hissed as the coffee burned her skin, and soon after tripped, her belongings scattering across the sidewalk. She swore under her breath, and inspected her scraped hands.

Tyler chuckled as he appeared behind the woman, smirking. "Oh you're a handful!" He exclaimed as he walked over to her. He decided to be nice so he picked her stuff. He held them under one arm while he wrapped the other around her waist. He helped her up and handed her stuff over.

"So, you new around here?" He asked, his eyes glowing in the light of the full moon. He glanced over across the street to see two red eyes glowing in the dark. He hissed quietly before turning back to her.

"Excuse me, but I have some.. Business I have to attend to..." He said, smirking. He walked across the street and as a car neared him at full speed, he glided over the helm, arriving at the other side safe and sound. He walked into the dark alley, and the shadows engulfed him.

Her eyes widened in bewilderment, and she hesitated on the sidewalk. Her curiosity got the best of her, and she crept toward the dark alley he'd disappeared into. She hid her body behind the base of the wall and peered inside.

Tyler grabbed the man by his throat and pressed him against the wall, his feet kicking in attempt to get away. "Now.. What do we have here.. Damon?" He said, smirking. He pressed closer and the man growled. Tyler dropped him and shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you too Tyler.." The man snapped at Tyler. He rubbed his neck before jumping at Tyler, attempting to knock him down.

Tyler zapped up the building, clinging to the wall. "I see you've gotten slower old friend.." He said casually before dropping down the man's shoulders. He smirked as the man groaned.

Jessie gasped audibly at what she was seeing. She just couldn't make sense of it, although she couldn't deny how absolutely fascinated she was. The hairs on her arm and the back of her neck stood straight up as adrenaline coursed through her mortal veins.

Damon groaned and got up. He growled and shifted into his wolf form. He flung himself at Tyler who easily dodged, "Bad dog.." He growled as his eyes shone red. He hissed at the wolf, his fangs glistening in the dark. His skin shifted into a paler color and beauty seemed to radiate off of him.

A smile lit up her face. This had to be the single most exhilarating thing shed experienced in her life, even if she didn't understand it. Then she saw Tyler, and couldn't help taking a step forward. In this state, she found him difficult to resist, and honestly, she didn't want to. However this situation posed danger on her end, so she controlled herself the best she could.

Tyler lunged at the wolf and grabbed his throat. "Leave off.." He hissed before he threw him into a wall, making him shift back. Tyler let his fangs shrink back and his eyes stopped glowing. His skin warmed up and he straightened his shirt. He walked out of the alley and glanced over at the girl.

Tyler smirked and his eyes shone red. "You remember nothing of this.." He said as he compelled her, before disappearing in a blur of light.

Her eyes furrowed in confusion, as she watched him disappear. She'd been consuming vervain tea since she's gotten into town. She ran over to Damon, and crouched down, putting her stuff down.

"Are you okay?" She asked, stroking his face, looking for signs of harm.

Damon looked up at the girl and growled. "Out of my way!" He snapped. He rose to his feet and shoved her into the wall. He was about to run off after Tyler when he was once more knocked into the wall.

"Not cool dude.." Tyler hissed as he stood in between the werewolf and the woman behind him.

She groaned as her body connected with the wall, knocking the wind out of her. Realizing what was happening, she pressed her body firmly against the wall.

Tyler glanced back at the woman. "Relax, I got this.." He said. The werewolf launched himself at Tyler and ripped his claws across his chest. Tyler hissed and threw him off. His eyes glowed red as she bared his fangs. He sprang at him and they wrestled on the ground, a tangle of claws and fangs. They eventually separated and the werewolf disappeared. Tyler staggered to his feet, a wound forming on his cheek. He wiped the blood away to reveal no wound, just perfect skin.

Her adrenaline ran out, and tears sprouted from her eyes. She ran over to Tyler, and raised her shaky hand to his face.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to start..." She saw the perfect skin where the wound had been, and lowered her hand. Her wet eyes met his in confusion. "But, I... You... What?" She was beginning to feel lightheaded.

Tyler shrugged away, surprised at her worry for him. "I'm fine.." He snapped, his eyes distant. He looked away from her, hiding his eyes from her. He couldn't bear to look at her. "You should go.." He hissed as he turned away and started walking off.
