" The Savior is the World's Greatest symbol for Hope, Peace and Unity. "
- 1st High Priest of Holy Temple Ackeron

The first day of the new season marks the beginning of the most celebrated pilgrimage on Elegos. The Journey of Unification. On this day the Figure of the Church of Unification, the Savior of Unity, embarks on a journey to pay homage to Great Keeper Races. The town of Tyrus, which lay at the base of the mountain where Holy Temple Ackeron stood, was bustling with life and festivities. The Keepers tower shone like a beacon, the Temple sounded its horns, it was a joyous occasion, and the people, spurred by the unshakable faith in the Savior rejoiced greatly.

In the Great Hall of Ackeron, monks and clerics were preparing for the Saviors departure. But the most noticeable event was the meeting between the 'Attendants of Ceremony' and the 'Stewards of Unity'. The former group were individuals who devoted themselves to the cloth, trained and versed in the Church's ways like any monk or cleric. They were chosen from among the dedicated servants of the church to aid in the ceremonies at each of the Temples of Unity found throughout the Eastern Union. The latter group represented the everyday person willing to undergo hardship and trials with no benefit to themselves. A sacrifice of livelyhood or circumstance, for the chance to aid in a greater cause.

The crew scoffed at her upon arrival, making remarks about the apparent stench of blood which lingered about her. Her eyes were cold and her expression a stiff unwavering frown. Numerous times some of the more friendly crewmates tried greeting her, some by little lady and others as the more formal title, Steward of unity. Still there was no reply, leaving what was left of the crew's sympathy for the girl all but gone. She was in many ways a plain v.i.p by most standards, quiet and introverted. However, what set her apart was her ghastly nature. She appeared to be inhuman in the eyes of the crewmembers who never seen a person who seemed to lack humanity. For hours at that time, she had not moved an inch. Her eyes did not blink nor did her head turn when addressed. She did not react to provocation nor did her body budge when someone tried to ripped her folded arms apart. To the crew members she was nothing special during the day, but at night she spooked them.

Being men of ordinary stature, they did not dabble with the world of magics. Nor did they know of the discipline and focused necessary to pull said spells off. To Adelaide drowning out the world was the purest form of meditation. This meditation depending on the person could last for days, but the crewmen did not know this. At night they'd whisper among themselves, keeping guard, ready to draw their swords at any moment. It wasn't until the storm hit them on the final day of the voyage that the crew contemplated getting rid of her. Even in the face of a storm, the likes of which rarely arrived on the archipelago's doorstep, she did not falter. Through torrents of rain which made it hard to see for more than a few feet and darkness which seemed to engulf the world, she stood unphased. When waves crashed upon the vessel and winds threw everyone else around, Adelaide did not respond. It was as if the storm willed her death, an omen in the eyes of the crew. The protector in their eyes was not welcome. " Tis' the holy temple.. it be warning us laddies. That girl...she isn't welcome".

On the morn of the third day, the sun peaked through the ominous clouds and shined much welcomed warmth upon the battered ship. In the distance a beacon of lite shined proudly in the distance. Said to be the star of the savior, all feelings of animosity melted away from everyone onboard as they were soon assaulted by the uproarious festival which was just getting started. As the ship docked, she let out a sigh and began heading toward the drawboard. There standing before her was the scattered crew, weary from the journey and nearly beaten to a pulp by the storm the night before. There standing before her was the captain of the ship, Sir Markus.
3539253_1402617030150.43res_248_248.jpg

She closed her eyes, gave him a meek smile and bowed ever so slightly to him. " I thank ya for having me aboard". She extended out a hand as a gesture of good faith. The woman reeked of seawater and her smile a stark contrast to her demeanor prior to docking. " Ye can keep yer formalities witch. Begone with ye". He stepped aside and gestured toward the drawboard with his arm, signaling her to get out of her sight. She scratched her cheek as she left the ship, " For what its worth, I did appreciate the entertaining squabbling of y'er crew. Too bad they didn't want to play". She said as she brandished the charred hilt of her sword playfully.

Upon reaching dry land and taking her first steps into Tyrus, she stretched her arms to the sky and began wringing out her clothing. As she strolled through the city, the sounds of merriment seemed to assault her. There was an air light heartedness which seemed to be undermined by the stress the preparers were feeling leading up until this day. If one listened carefully, they could hear the fatigue in the shop keepers and their workers. Underlying the enthusiasm of the children who offered her food, was a desperation to succeed and bring something back. She looked into the eyes of a girl who offered her fresh bread. It was fluffy and warm, something most people did not have the luxury of enjoying on a daily basis due high cost of food. Adelaide tipped her well and pat her on the head, feeling the relief and exuberance which escaped from her real smile. As she made her way through the town, others offered her various "goods", such as souveniers and foods from their specialty shops. Adelaide couldn't refuse any of it and ended up with a knapsack of goods as she strolled up to Temple of Arkaron.

There a congregation of people, in multiple lines were already waiting to get into the temple. There were people of all walks of life from noblemen with their many servants fanning them and shielding them from the hot summer sun. To ordinary people, with kids of their own all headed toward the temple. People of different accents, dress, and customs were all converging upon Tyrus to see the savior. She bobbed and weaved through the crowd, contemplating how she could sneak in. Well that is until she grimaced, rubbing her ears as she remembered being chewed out just a few days prior, about not messing this up. With much reluctance she presented herself to the temple guards, who were posted at the military and vip entrance of the temple.

In unison they held their arms out forward, signaling her to halt. " State chir business, miss". They were cold and almost unfeeling, eyes trained upon her but showing no sign of urgency. " I am Adelaide, member of the church and a steward of unity". She presented her letter of invitation and expected that to be enough, taking her first step forward the guards took an aggressive stance, placing their hands upon the hilt of their blades. For but a moment she lifted the outer edge of her gauntlet, to reveal the brand of the church, but hers had crimson streaks. Very seldom does one meet a member with a brand with an altered appearance, and when they do, it's never like this. This sent chills down their spines as they stood aside almost immediately, almost hugging the wall to try and create as much space between her and themselves. " Don't think this be a sign of trust, inquisitor". Their hands now gripping the hilt of their blades even tighter than before, eyes alert and focused this time around. She gave them a nonchalant wave and headed on her way, into the great hall of Ackeron.

"Take it easy now, laddies".

Location: Town surrounding Holy Temple of Ackeron
Time: 8 am-9 am

Now it wasn't often that Marc would go out of his way to do what one might call "Charity work," hell in truth he was of a group that wouldn't lift a finger if there wasn't much in it for them. mercenaries were fickle sorts, and they had to be or they'd be taken advantage of at each turn. But at this instances, the journey of Unification was a very important event. One that all eyes were watching, almost excruciatingly so.

"Marc."

Marc put his name in the metaphorical hat for this reason, for as a mercenary your reputation was everything. And your reputation is the thing that got your name remembered and noticed, and one of, if not the most, important events of the year is a sure fire way of getting yourself recognized for good service should you actually give said good service! Not to mention it looks good on the company to. It was his time to finally make a name for himself!! All he had to do was guard a outrageously gorgeous savior to her destination!Maybe do a good deed or three along the way to rack up the points!

"Marc!"

Real simple, given the fact he was already a follower of the religion in question helped his chances. And low and behold he was one of the few lucky sobs chosen to help this lovely woman along her way.

"MARC!"

A gruff voice echoed in the man's ear, a figure clad in similar armor stood beside the man who had been ruminating for over the past hour. "What!? Whats going on?" "You've been dead to the world is what's going on! Your hat on too tight or somethin'?!" the man before Marc was roughly similar height and build, a fellow mercenary whom had come with him for the small journey from the encampment nearby, he was a older fellow, touted a utterly outrageous moustache that seemed to cover the man's whole mouth, if not all of his lower jaw. The man was named Rocher, if the name Rocher was referring to the man, or the moustache that likely was controlling him, Marc didn't know.

It was the moment the ruckus started that Marc got lost in his thoughts, the world seemingly becoming alive all around him causing him to remember whats making him go through with this, and hoping to whatever gods were watching this would go well.

"Well, I'm heading off." "Eh!? leaving so soon!?" "I said I'd show yea to the place, and so I did!" "What no send off? No heart felt goodbyes!?" "I ain't yer grandpappy! You're a big boy now, you can survive on your own." the old man spat, before walking off abit. "Good luck though, yer gonna need it!" the old man laughed at his expense, making him feel really no better, before walking off to leave the man to his fate.

"..I thought he said he wasn't gonna do the send off?" Marc questioned, slightly confused at the sudden change of heart. "Well, guess there's nothing to do but head on up... Why in blazes did they have to place the temple up there? A damn walk just to even get there... All the monks have some hellishly strong legs." the man continued the grumble his way up the road to the temple, walking past the merchants, people and well wishing monks whom we're passing by.

~One hell of a climb later~
Marc had watched that whole... Scene go down, the woman being barred entry, the flashing of, well, something in her hand, she seemed a younger sort, but the guards seemed to keep well away from her... Best he keep an eye on that one while he's here. he approached the entrance while the guards reassumed their positions. "Hey there fellahs, Don't yea worry i got my letter." he spoke as he fiddled around with his pockets, taking out the, slightly weather and wet in a few places, letter. One of the two took it to look it over, in the meantime he looked to the other.

"So.. Uhh... Busy day right?" "Yep." "Big festival going on down below, real nice weather for it." "Yep." "Not much of a talker are yea?" "Nope." The awkwardness of the situation grew by the minute, he was already worried to hell, now this guy doesn't seem to understand the meaning of "Small talk." Why the hell is that guy taking so long to read that damn letter? He probably looked through many of them already! Maybe hes just taking his time to mess with him? Maybe he is trying to freak him out? wait, did something important get washed off? the rain was pretty bad last night, maybe it got messed up!? Is he gonna get-

"Alright, head on in."

"Ah? Eh? Oh. well... Alright then, see yea later!" the mercenary tried his best to swallow his worry before heading in after the young woman who seemed to spook them so much... She wasn't even that big and scary from what he saw. What would make her such a threat?

Gareth Alber
Temple of Ackeron 8-9AM
As a Companion of a Unity, Gareth had been ordered to be at the temple extra early. Although there were throngs of people outside waiting to enter he didn't really consider standing around doing absolutely nothing to be a 'privelage.' In all honesty, he would've much preferred to be outside enjoying the various food stalls and festivities. He just didn't feel like he belonged in such an honorable position. Even after having months to digest the information that he would in fact be responsible for protecting and guiding the SAVIOR of all people, he could still barely wrap his head around it. He had subtly asked the priests and clerics multiple times if there was someone more suited to such a role but no, apparently the Holy Ackeron's word was final.

In the end he decided there was no point in dwelling on his fate if it couldn't be changed and was thankful to hear the temple doors opening. Finally, something to do! He remembered that the Protectors were allowed special VIP access to the temple like the Companions so he was sure that it would be one of the Protectors who would be arriving. He had often wondered what the people he would be journeying with were like. From what he learned, apparently they could be from almost any walk of life. He figured that would at least make things interesting for the journey. He was thankful he wouldn't have to spend extended periods of time with a band that was limited to hardcore religious followers. While Gareth was a very firm believer in the a Church of Unification, he didn't want religion to be the sole topic of conversation. He knew quite a few individuals who took showing their faith juuuust a bit too far.

Snapping himself out of his thoughts he composed himself for the arrival of the first guest who appeared to be a young girl. Surprising, but not shockingly so. He considered himself quite young for his role as well. Repositioning his glasses and taking a moment to compose himself, Gareth walked calmly over to the girl and greeted her with a smile.

"Hello there! It's a pleasure to meet you! I'm Gar-Oh... he trailed off in surprise when he got to look into her eyes. They looked...empty. He'd seen eyes like hers a few times. It was possible she had a troublesome past. He wouldn't dare pry though. Realizing he probably looked very awkward, he cleared his throat.

"U-m, right. My name is Gareth. Sorry about that. I thought I saw a...ghost." He said in a somewhat sheepish voice, smiling despite himself.

Adelaide stopped three or four meters from the pristine holy temple, as its towering ornate doors swung outward. Each door was roughly two meters thick and inscribed with familiar religious symbols, of which the sun being the most prominent as it practically engulfed the design itself. A blast of cool air assaulted her, giving her goosebumps and serving quite the contrast to the hot summer heat just outside the temple. All around her monks and other staff in white robes were scrambling even now. This festival seemed like it was all too much to her, just a bother in itself she thought, taking a bite from her loaf of bread.

From said white robed fellows came a man named Gareth. He approached her with a smile, only to lose the color in his face as he trailed off in the same instance. She placed the half eaten loaf of bread in her knapsack and gave him a wink. " You know most people reach for their blades when they see me, not think aloud.", she giggled as she offer her hand. " Name's Adelaide. rest assured you'f nothing to worry about as long as we'r on the same side. I'm looking forward to working with cha".

As she said that her ears perked up at the sound of heavy footsteps behind her. " Guess there's another one, huh"?

Yseult DuBoisLocation: Holy Temple Ackeron, San Ska Rae Archipelago Date: Eausen 1st, 997 CYAD Time 6am-9am
Companions: Adelaide, Marc, Gareth Mood: Sheepish but hopeful Goal: Introductions without further embarrassment.

Yseult's tired eyes slid open, the first rays of strawberry-blonde sunlight cast across her ceiling rousing her from that place between wakefulness and rest. She had been lingering there all night, much as she had each night since her arrival. Some mix of excitement and discomfort, the private room she'd been given at a local inn reminded her too much of the private chambers at the monastery, of past tragedy. Not to mention she would be setting out this morning with the Saviour on the journey of Unification ... how could she sleep, how could anyone.

Pushing herself up, she lingered there, propped up on her arms, as a long yawn crept out of her mouth. Not to mention the bed was too soft. Pulled from the monastery and thrust into the limelight, at heart she was still just a young disciple, scrubbing floors and chipping candle-wax from lecterns, studying and praying. Her celebrity was borrowed, and although she was far from the center of attention, even being this close to the limelight was overwhelming to the girl. A smirk spread across her face as she dragged herself to the edge of the bed. After all of this was finished, once the journey was complete, where would she be? Scrubbing floors, praying, and studying.

Sometimes perspective was a truly unpleasant experience, but she'd been put here by fate, and it was not her place to question. The sudden cold of the stone floor provided a kind of pleasant reminder that some things, at least, were still the same. Hoisting herself up, and extending immediately into a stretch, the narrow brunette lurched over to the vanity, peering into the mirror. She almost laughed. Her hair had been pushed up into a wild mane during the night, tendrils of hair defying gravity and reason alike. Her nightthings, borrowed pieces of finery, were also in disarray, twisted this-way and that-way. Moving to the door, Yseult pulled it open to find a basin of steaming water waiting for her in the hallway, just as it had been each morning of that week.

Carefully lifting the precarious vessel, she drew it back inside and closed the door with her hip, setting it at the vanity carefully. Shedding her sleeping garments into a heap on the floor, she set about washing up. The hot water brought vigour to her aching muscles and bones, and by the time she'd flattened out her hair she felt almost human. Pulling into her robes, she took a moment to inspect herself in the mirror. The robes were new, not that they were any different from the stitched and patched ones she'd brought from Ildumar, they just didn't have any character yet. Just another facet of the pomp and circumstance, amusingly contrary to the notion that the Saviour was of and for the people.

Yseult heaved another sigh. some things she doubted she would ever understand, and politics was certainly one such thing. With the sun less than half-way risen, she set about tidying her room. By the time someone came calling, she'd managed to erase all traces of her stay, save the folded sleeping gown on the bed, the basin of cool water on the vanity, and the rough pack leaning against the wall.

A gentle rap came at the door. It was the innkeeper's wife, all red curls and smiles.

"There's a young man here to see you dear, I'm to summon you at once."

Offering a sheepish thanks, Yseult gathered her things and slipped back out into the hallway. She followed the woman downstairs, where a finely dressed and liberally perfumed page was waiting. Offering a salute of sorts as they approached, he handed the young disciple a letter and quickly drew her onward into the street. People were already beginning to crowd around the temple, everyone wanting to be front-row, see the Saviour off first-hand. In fact, despite the early hour, and their relative importance, threading through the crowd to the gates proved a rather arduous task.

Later, inside ...
Yseult flattened out her robes, flustered and quite literally ruffled from the throng outside. She was glad at the momentary privacy as she emerged into the antechamber where Gareth had been stationed. He was the closest thing to a familiar face she would get to see. Almost immediately Stewards began to arrive. Yseult was a little taken aback by their varying levels of dubiousness. One of them, a young woman, appeared to be dead on her feet. Still, it's not like she was terribly familiar with the warrior class. Forcing a smile, she approached the small group of future companions. Gareth was currently taking the hand of an intimidating looking young woman of about her age, who was giggling despite her dead-eyed stare. Not far behind stood a tall man with dark brown hair, and a far-off quality to his eyes.

With the young woman occupying the older disciple, Yseult approached the other, gruffer mercenary and offered her hand.

"Bonjour, Welcome to Great Ackeron. I do hope you found your way here alright ..."

It dawned on her a moment later, as the red rose to her cheeks, that the temple was impossible to miss, literally the tallest standing structure for miles, build onto the side of a mountain. Still ... too late to withdraw the question now.

The one person turned to two, then it turned to three. Two of which being cute young ladies, the other being a bookish type of man. Who apparently had... Seen a ghost? "Now I ain't no professional when it comes to the things that go bump in the night, but I doubt ghosts can get into holy places. Well, maybe good ones can, if there really are any good ones." The mercenary mused as he stepped inside, counting heads in the room before continuing.

"Now I do gotta say it was easy enough finding the place miss, but I'll be if the walk up that hill ain't a doozy. Ain't nothing folks can't handle but I don't want ta be the guy goin' up and down it all day." Letting his bravado speak for abit he wanted to come off confident in front of the others, didn't want his worries to cause him to mess up or act foolish in front of these folks.

"Ah sh- Ehmn, darn, where are my manners?" he caught himself before continuing. "The name is Marc Rondel, one of the lucky folk who got chosen to help in this pilgrimage. Being a mercenary is my trade, figured it'd be a good idea to join up, see the sights, make some friends. yea know, the works." he tried to play up the whole charity angle, hell sell the journey as a big interesting thing. Hoping none of them go out the gate with pointing fingers at him for being a soldier of fortune.

In his case more like soldier of poverty.

He took a look over the group once more before leaning against the wall, his halberd clinking slightly on the stone surface behind him as it lay perched on his back. "So... uhh... Adelaide, Gareth and... What'd you say your name is sweetie?" he asked pointing to each of them as he said their name and ending off at Yseult. he really was letting his bravado take charge, acting all cool and jokeing, in truth, he was as nervous as the two others seemed.

Earlier that Day

The long awaited Journey of Unification had finally arrived. With the summer season came the longer days, and today was no exception. Even before the sunrise, the veil of darkness faded away from the sky over the Eastern Union. In the hearts and minds of many, a veil of uncertainty and gloom was lifted. With the War in the North raging onward, the Union's biggest partner in trade was met with constant uncertainty. The Western Empire's grip on former Union territory was an ongoing threat to their security. Worst of all was the presence of Jolinar Creed fleet of pirates, the plague of the Union's Waterways. With such world events, the peoples hearts sank easily into despair and depression. The Journey of Unification was the World's foremost pilgrimage. More than that however was its message of Unity and Hope. Millions of lives believed in this with all their heart. But the one who had the most faith was the Savior herself, Spiritua Sage.

That morning before dawn, Spiritua had already been brushing her hair, and arranging herself a best as she possibly could. As she gently stroked her hair, she stared at the garments she would wear. Up until today she always wore formal attire akin to the clothing of those who lived and worked at the temples. Today she would don the dress designated for Journey of Unification, which was neatly present along the wall. Her thoughts were mostly focused on the people who would accompany her. Her duties were as clear as day but her Attendants of Ceremony and Stewards of Unity would be unknowns. The thought both excited and worried her. The festivities had begun early in the town. It had been generations since the last Savior's Departure from Tyrus. A whole new generation of people were outside in celebration of the event. Spiritua bid farewell to the room that was her home for the last 10 years and made her way to the great hall. Oddly, she did not take the main staircase to the hall but a back stairwell for servants and stewards. She poked her head from the small entrance way the stairs led to and spotted the people who matched the portfolio's and mirimage's of her followers.

Casually, she waltzed towards them butting into their conversation. " Hi there!" she said excitedly. " Are you people the Saviors companions by chance!" she asked acting as some random attendant or servant. She thought to have a little fun with the group. Apart from the Priests of Unity, a few select government officials and the people of Tyrus, not many knew the face of the Savior. It was a means of protection as she grew into her training that she not be recognized until the Journey of Unification. With her sudden appearance, her undignified approach to the situation and her casual greetings, only a mindreader would know the Savior was her. " Wow, incredible, just by looking at you, people can tell what islands you're from... that's a rather common golgo'than hat there." she noticed Marc Rondel holding. " Weird staff...let me have a look at it one day huh?" she questioned Gareth. " oh! A focus medallion, and silver too! Rare that is. Don't ever sell that. " she told Yseult. But most intriguing to her was Adelaide. Or more specifically something about her, as she patted her head in amazement. " White hair.... do you by change have a brother who speaks like a weirdo? "

Gareth chuckled a bit when Adelaide made a jab at his reaction to her. It turned out that her off putting demeanor was just the cover of the book so to speak. He made a note to help her become a bit more approachable later on.

"Haha, well I'm not exactly what you'd call a 'stab first, ask questions later' kind of person. In fact I'd much rather just ask questions since my swordplay skills are a bit...non existent." he said in a joking tone, gesturing to the staff which was fastened to his back. It was then that Yseult approached them.

"Oh Yseult! I was wondering where you were! I was just speaking with Adelaide here. She's one of our companions for the journey ahead. Well, not a 'Companion of Unity but I'm sure you know what I mean." he explained. Gareth had met Yseult early on in their training to become Companions. They got along with each other quite well. It was hard not to really, Gareth found that the young priestess in training made it her mission to be as kind and hard working as possible. She was just a likable sort of person. Although there were multiple occasions where he could tell that she was trying just a bit TOO hard to be perfect. Still though, he somewhat admired her for it. She was always full of confidence and determination when she had her mind set on something and even when she messed up, she'd brush it off and keep trying. Just watching her was enough to lift his own spirit multiple times during training. At that moment, another person approached them, an armor clad man with an imposing figure. The first thing the man did was comment on Gareth's little ghost excuse from earlier.

"Um well, I have been told that I have a knack for seeing things that others miss. Whether that means I'm a lunatic or an oracle, I'll never know." he explained. The man then introduced himself as Marc Rondel, a mercenary and another Protector to aid them in the pilgrimage.

"Oh, then it's a pleasure to meet you Sir Rondel! It's a relief that someone with more...constitution will be aiding us. A walking magic stick like myself won't do much good for the savior's safety if things get more direct." he joked, trying to get Marc to feel more comfortable. In truth, he was also relieved that Marc seemed to be quite jovial in contrast to his rough appearance. Gareth had interacted with similar types of men while working at his mother's clinic on Vigganno. Sometimes men would feel uncomfortable having to go see a doctor for their troubles so it was often up to Gareth to make them more at ease. Most of it was offering them small boosts of confidence like he was doing now with Marc.

"Um, anyway. Yes I'm Gareth, and this is Yseult. We'll be acting as the Companions for this journey." he explained when Marc was confirming their identities. Just then, ANOTHER person appeared. She appeared to be an attendant. An attendant who had become veeeery interested in them all of a sudden.

"Oh, is it strange? Apparently it's some kind of relic. A priest insisted that I take it with me on the pilgrimage." he explained to the girl. The priest, the same one who had taken notice of Gareth in the first place told him that its origins could be traced back as far as the time of the Keepers. Gareth didn't exactly have any time to look into it. The only thing he knew about it so far was that it was a good staff.

Said the young woman in white. Being responsible for holding the ceremony, priests had a lot on their hands to do, and as a teacher, Orchid had more responsibilities than others. But her great mission was just about to begin; to company the Savior of Unification in her scared journey. She was so proud of it and wasn’t going to let slightest details skip her eyes.

“Keep the main gate closed yet… the attendants will go to the first hall but not now… have you readied the second hall for special guests? That’s the inner gathering place, yes… tables are ready? Good…”

She was to manage all those young apprentices, new priests, workers and even sometimes guards in order to hold the ceremony without a flaw. Departure of the savior was very important and had a great impact on people. It gave them hope about approaching peace and justice. They had to believe in her in their hearts and aid her with their hands so that their common fabulous dream of unity would engulf the reality.

“Where are my student? Are they ready? No… don’t call them yet…”

This was the day Orchid had been waiting for so long; the day to pick the fruit of all her trainings and ascetics. She was going to use everything she had to aid the savior for the sake of peace and order for people she loved. In the temple, she had learned to love everyone so she was doing this for everyone.

“You there… yes sister, you… where did you take that bag? It was mine. Bring it to me, please…”

She took her sack from a younger priestess and checked her to do list and list of attendees and more important of them were armbands, medallions and profiles of stewards.

“Everything set? Thanks…”

She left the rest to do their duties and went to meet Gareth to give him his small medallion of companionship. It wasn’t hard to find that man as he was supposed to welcome special guests. After leaving the main hall, she found him chatting with a group of guests. Wearing a kind smile and throwing away her stress, she approached them. “Welcome our very dear guests!” She called as was close enough to have their attention. Orchid pulled the pack of profiles and a bunch of bands and two medallions out of her bag. “Thanks for hard work, brother Gareth.” She said as wore one of medallions of companionship around his neck. “May light be with you on your journey.” She prayed then went to the girl who had come from another temple, a fellow priestess. “You must be sister DuBois. Thank you for coming this far.” She told her and wore the other medallion around her neck. “Bless you!” She prayed and kissed Yseult’s forehead. She looked at her profiles to recognize stewards. The most obvious was the hatter mercenary with his name on his hat. “Welcome mister Marc Rondle, we appreciate your help and trust our safety in your hands.” She greeted the man then walked closer to him and wrapped one of armbands around her right arm. “This is the sign of protectors of the savior. May the light shine upon you.” She smiled warmly at him then checked her list again. The next steward was a girl called Adelaide. “Welcome miss Adelaide. It’s a pleasure to meet you and thank you for offering a hand in time of need.” She spoke to her softly and wrapped an armband the same as the one she had given Marc around her right arm. What she saw in her stern face was what she used to call ‘Broken by Burden of Guilt’ which for the priestess it only meant that the girl needed more portion of kindness, friendship and trust. “May the light guide your way… God bless you…” She prayed for her and kissed her forehead the way she had treated Yseult. After checking her files again she looked at Spiritua in confusion. “Darling, you are not mentioned in my list. If you are not one of special guests, then what have brought you here? Priests are busy with work and normal gusts should wait for the ceremony to start. Then we will open the gates and they can enter to entrance hall.” She explained but there was something in that anonymous girl’s eyes that made the priestess want her to stay with them. “But you are already here… so you may spend the ceremony with us. What’s your name?” She asked and put her papers back into her bag. “Sister Orchid! Kids are ready…” Someone called her from the door leading to the main hall. “It’s not time yet. They have to wait. Bring them some fruits to keep them occupied for a while.” She replied and faced her guests with a brighter smile. “The children of orphanage have prepared a song to sing for the attendance… you know, I’m their teacher and should be with them. I’ll really appreciate it if you come and listen. My sweet hearts truly sing beautifully. It moves my heart every time I listen to them…” She went on about her students sentimentally. “Sorry for keeping you waiting here. We’ve set tables in the inner hall for special guests like you. Please go there and let our young priests serve you till the savior appears. Brother Gareth can guide you.” She said and nodded at Gareth.

Adelaide slowly retracted her hand when it became apparent that her gesture was lost on the man. His mood had certainly lightened, explaining he's a cautious person, as evidence by his walking on egg shells around her. The rest of what she assumed to be her group followed suit as they began to converse around her. The heavier fighter, who had an air of joviality greeted the flustered woman clad in traditional white robes, no doubt a follower of the sect. The group conversed a rather quick pace, leaving her somewhat in the dust as she took a few steps back to gather her thoughts.

What grounded her among the sea of voices the slight of hand which briefly caressed her head. Her eyes darting to the person in question, focused with laser precision reflexively just as she was trained all those years, before returning back to normal a breath or two later. The words of her commander drumming loudly in her head, Do not draw your blade in the temple. Adelaide gulped slightly as she fought the almost inexorable instinct to draw her blade, which in itself was more unnatural than not breathing to her. The sound of superior's words echoed louder in her mind a second time as she winded down from the tension, her clenched fist releasing and a slight smile forming on her face. " Ahh haha ya startled me miss. No I'm fraid not, lest my father being an adulterous heretic with a second family. For you see, I am an only child". She bowed her head courtly and excused herself from the group. Stopping to only to accept the arm band from what she assumed to be a priestess, bowing her head once more as the girl leaned in to lightly kiss her forehead. " And also with you".

Looking upon the rest of the group once more from where she stood, she took one more glance at the party, taking inventory of their faces before heading out to a nearby balcony. The sea breeze accompanied by the hypnotic nature view overlooking the island drowned out any sense of discomfort she had. Looking down at her hand, she clenched her fingers into a fist once more noticing the shaking. In the distance she saw the scope of the crowd as she gathered her wits. Sails from the major islands were converging upon them just over the horizon. And the crowd forming in front of the temple, growing larger by the second. The horns of the temple blaring even louder from her vantage point, yet another marvel, that she could not hear them from within the temple's walls.

The man gave the gareth guy a smile and a few nods. "Yea got me pinned there, uhh... Gareth, yea. I'm no holy man, but if something needs to be jabbed I can certainly get to it- Well hello there!" the sudden new arrival caught the man's attention almost immediately, the cute new priestess buzzing around people caught his eye rather quick. And it seems his hat was once again the target of praise, or at least recognition.

Everyone loves the hat.

Everyone.

"Well you got a sharp eye don'tchyea? Yep, born and raised in that grand old city, lovely place- Uhh..." he stopped abruptly as she quickly seemed to go off to other people... Guess he wasn't interesting enough to stick with it seems. While caught in the middle of feeling kinda pushed to the side he felt a sudden clasp upon his arm, confusion and hoping it wasn't some sort of chain for breaking some unspoken law filled his face for a second as he looked to the new acquisition upon his arm. Not a chain, but something rather nice actually, looked like something he could pawn for a pretty good price to... If.. he wasn't certain that it meant something. Why did that woman put it on him? Did he miss something? To many beauties coming to him and leaving as soon as they came.

Wait, he did remember his name being called, she did say something to him didn't she? Ah crap what did she say!

Eh?

Ah... Seems it doesn't matter much as she was already face first into a list and heading elsewhere...

We're all holy types like this? head on a swivel and can't keep a conversation going for two seconds? If so he was going to have a hellish time making friends here... Wait, orphan kids? A song? he knew this was going to be a holy ceremony but he expected they would be, you know, up and out the door soon, not sit there and attend every ceremony that comes up and listen to just about every waif who wants to sing. Then again what did he expect? Holy people do holier than thou things. And he was stuck in the middle of a pile of em, best he make himself the least likely to be called a heathen as possible..

Wait.

Did she say food?

"Ah, now thats what I'm talking about. Starved as can be I gotta say and something to eat before we hit the road is just what a man needs." the jovial outlook returns once sustenance had been mentioned. In truth it was pretty much the only thing he knew was going on around here, people faffing about and doing.. Whatever holy folk do wasn't exactly his area of knowledge.

"Well? Come on now Gareth my man, lets get some grub! Adel...Addy? Adeland? What the hell is her name..." he asked himself, snapping his fingers in trying to remember, before he caught it again. "Adelaide! You comin'? Food awaits!" he called to the woman whom had left the group for the balcony, after some... Effort to remember her name.

A banquet in honor of the Journey was held in the Great Hall. The guests of honor were the Stewards of Unity and the Attendants of Ceremony however the Savior had yet to arrive. After casually meeting her companions without ever introducing herself, she went off into a private room to speak with the Priest of Unity of Ackeron. The Priest was actually visiting the sister temple for preparation purposes, and so would not be present for her departure. Holy Temples Ackeron and Pergamemnon were able to communicate with each other using a large crystal orb that was kept in Chamber of Sages. In fact, this chamber could be used to communicate with any of the Temples of Unity from throughout the Union. The Savior felt the need to confide one last time to her mentor and friend.

" So you have met with the Stewards and Attendants."

" Yes. "

" What do you discern, Savior? "

" Devotion in some, Apathy in others. Doubt, uncertainty. Clarity of thought. Hearts that are closed, souls that are tainted."

" Does this bother you, Savior? "

" Yes."

" Remember, the Stewards, and Attendants do more than help with ceremony and protection. They are all chosen by the Priests of Unity because they represent both the Good and the Bad that can be found in our domain. You are the Savior. You must unite them under your leadership. "

" 'Only by accomplishing little can one accomplish greater' ? " is it. "

" No longer am I a teacher but a learner. You are not only a symbol of Humankind, Savior, but the Hope of the Keepers. "

Goodbyes soon followed and the two parted ways until the end of the Journey. With the assurance given to her by the Priest of Unity, she marched out of the Chamber of Sages and joined the rest in the Great Hall. There, in place of the Priest, Tyrus' Mayor was giving the honorary speech in his behalf. He praised the Companions and extolled their greatness, with much exaggeration perhaps, but his enthusiasm captured what the town was feeling in that moment. In that instant, the Mayor spotted the last guest of Honor as Spiritua came from the side of the stage. With open arms he welcomed the Savior and asked her for a few words before embarking on the journey. Spiritua was hesitant to say the least but was spurred on by unshakable faith many had placed in her.

" Good day... thank you for coming everyone. I, I do not know what to say this was... really sudden."
It was obvious Spiritua was nervous and unprepared. She paused for a brief moment, but to her that moment might as well have been an eternity. Suddenly she composed herself and gathered the thoughts of years of experiences.

" The World of Elegos has much that divides all of us. Origin, Upbringing, Class, Wealth, Location, Religion. Many of these aspects are the result of our own making. WE DIVIDE OURSELVES. Why? I believe, it is because we are incapable of remembering or deny ourselves the most simple of truths. We are all human. The Journey of Unification is meant to unite HUMANKIND. There are those who believe the role of the Savior is to solve all the problems in the world. To be a leader, to be a hero, to show importance, to show power. I am not out there to save the World, nor do I profess to have the power to do so. " Many in the crowd were wide-eyed to the words of the Savior. After all for nearly all of them, this was their first encounter with a Savior.

" No, the Role of the Savior is that of a servant, a beggar. The Role of the Savior is not to change the world, but to change the Hearts of the people. Without the people, the Savior is nothing and no one. However, without the Savior, the people can still bring about a better world, a united race. That is why on this Journey, I will serve the people, and beg for their help so that together, we can fulfill the hopes of the Great Ancient Keepers Races. "
Little did she know the podium was enchanted to sound aloud to all corners of the town. The applause and cheer inside the great hall was loud, but it was drowned out by the praise outside of the walls.

Yseult DuBoisLocation: Great Hall, Holy Temple Ackeron, San Ska Rae Archipelago Date: Eausen 1st, 997 CYAD Time 9am-10am
Companions: Everybody! Mood: Hallelujah Goal: To eventually eat this food.

Everything seemed to be going rather well. Despite her initial blunder, Marc had been a gentleman, though he spoke with strange affectation ... and there was that hat. The secrets of the universe must have been hidden beneath it's gently curved brim, caught from the whispering wind by the little white feather that seemed to dance even in the stillness the the hall. Blinking a few times, it took her a moment to realize that the tall, tanned mercenary was addressing her for her name. What had he called her?

Yseult's face suddenly flashed crimson as she realized what she'd heard. Her eyes went wide and she shrank into her stormy-blue cassock, attempting to hide in the form-fitting, hood-less garment. Her effort bore no success. Knitting her fingers together anxiously, she was on the verge of a response when Gareth swooped in and gave her name after a somewhat shoe-horned introduction to their other member, the white-haired girl with the moonlit stare. Something about the girl's unearthly appearance made her uneasy, but she offered a smile and a wave to the woman, who was still holding her hand out to the other Attendant.

"Uh, oh ... Attendants of Ceremony." Almost immediately Yseult regretted speaking, her lips drawing into a thin line as she peered apologetically over at Gareth. She had successfully brought the conversation to a complete halt when her saviour arrived in the form of a dark haired woman, not much older than she was. Awash with relief, the woman waltzed right over and broke into the conversation, remarking on something of note for each individual. A warm smile fell across Yseult's face as her necklace took a momentary shine.

"Oh, thank you so much." She would never dream of selling it. The large, heavy silver article was not only a mark of her faith, but had been a gift from the keeper of the Monastery. It served now as a reminder that she was a representative of not only the church of Unification, but of Ildumar's people too. The young woman moved on, leaving Yseult to wonder who she was, and just what had brought her into their midst. It seemed unlikely such a kind and sweet woman would be their final Steward. Her antithesis, Adelaide, seemed on the verge of murder as the woman patted her stark white hair, but soon brushed off her tenseness with a terse comment.

Her pondering was interrupted as Sister Orchid rushed in, her long white robes flowing. About the same age as the mysterious woman, Orchid had been Gareth and her attache since arriving, and assumed as much for the others. Something about having an authority figure in attendance put Yseult at ease, as it usually did. The taller brunette had brought standards for them, armbands and medallions to show their membership to the Journey. Yseult accepted hers gracefully with a bow and a smile, clasping her hands in silent prayer as Orchid kissed her forehead. By the time she'd reached Adelaide, the young woman looked about ready to sever the next body-part that sought to touch her. A worried frown washed over Yseult's face as she moved off to the balcony.

A word, however, caught her attention; Food. A meal for them in the Great Hall. Having skipped breakfast to race to the temple, her mouth began to water as she imagined what kind of local dishes might be waiting for them in what would certainly be a small, private gathering to meet the saviour. Moving to the threshold of the chamber instinctively, she paused as Orchid elected Gareth to lead the others to the Great Hall, not wanting to seem insolent. Marc was also clearly excited by the mention of food, beckoning Adelaide join them, though he had a little trouble with her name.

Finally everyone seemed to move to the door, their bespectacled guide leading the way to the great hall.

Later, after discovering their meal would be quite public ...
Yseult sat peering sadly down at her food. It was rude to eat while someone was extolling your virtues, regardless of the hyperbole with which they speak. She was already blushing from even the mention of her name, and now she was being forced to sit there while her food went uneaten ... unloved. Her attention turned back to the mayor as he introduced someone else, introduced the Saviour.

Peering about, she could only see the mayor of Tyrus, and the woman from earlier. Yseult's eyebrows slowly rose to the peak of her forehead. It suddenly dawned on her that this WAS that saviour. Part of her wasn't surprised ... despite her young age, she radiated a kind of quiet confidence, wisdom, an unspoken purposefulness. Even meeting with them as she did, it was tactical, but not underhanded, on-point, but not on-the-nose. As she stepped up to the podium, Yseult forgot about her food momentarily and inched forward onto the edge of her seat, peaking up over the ornate table-decorations for a better look at her. Her qualities resonated in her speech; compassion, selflessness, and, of course, the power of Unity. For now at least, Yseult felt like they were in good hands ... not the Saviours', but their own.

When the speech drew to a close, Yseult stood up and applauded, though the sound was lost in the rumbling roar of approval from the gathered masses outside. The sound and fury of it shook the mountain and sent the land trembling for miles. An elated smile drawn across her face, like a young schoolchild in attendance of their favourite play, she sat back down, almost entirely unaware of the food before her as she glanced around at the other members of their sortie, hoping the speech had touched each of them.

Gareth Alber
Temple of Ackeron

As suddenly as the young woman had seared, she left without even saying goodbye. Gareth found her behavior to be strange but at the same time it wasn't exactly anything to dwell on. As was asked of him, Gareth led the way to the greatl hall where the main event of the festival would be held. It also haunted to be the place where the food was laid out so naturally almost everyone began gravitating torwards the wide assortment of foods that lined the long tables.

"Feel free to help yourselves to whatever you like. There's plenty for everyone." Gareth said in a friendly tone before filling a late with various foods he liked and sitting down. A little ways into the feast and the Ackeron appeared to welcome the Savior's entourage before introducing the Savior herself. As soon as she made her entrance, he was shocked to find that the savior was in fact the strange young woman who had jumped into their conversation earlier. This raised some questions in the young man's head but he let the matter lie as he listened intently to her speech.

As expected it was quite an uplifting and inspiring piece and Gareth was clapping along with everyone else by the end of it. Gareth could tell she was passionate about her role just by watching her talk about it and he was glad to be aiding someone who seemed to be earnest in her duties. That wasn't to say however, that he didn't feel a sense of dread that his 'aid' wouldn't be adequate or that he might even end u slowing everyone down.

Orchid watched Gareth leading their honorable guests toward tables with a satisfied smile. It was soon to be enjoying the result of all priests’ effort for holding the ceremony but she had a feeling that they were going to have good companies during their travel. Suddenly she noticed that the mysterious girl was among them. She looked around without catching a sight of her white and scarlet garment. “Didn’t even notice when she disappeared…” She thought but had n time to spend over a girl she had met only for a minute. She went to the great hall to meet with her students and order them in lines. As soon as the gates were opened, she leaded them singing their first song to welcome the guests. Soon the hall was overwhelmed by attendants and kids began their second song. Before the mayor appearing in front of the crowd to present his speech, she sent her students to go with other priestesses and receive their share of meal and sweats.

To respect the mayor, Orchid joined the companions of the savior and took a seat close to the other two clerics. She poured herself from a jar of cool beverage and sipped from it slowly trying to have as much as rest she needed before departure. Despite of her calm and composed gesture, her heart was so excited because the savior of unification was about to show up and she finally could meet her face. She had often thought of what kind of person the savior would be and had even imagined her in different ages and faces. That was the moment a true movement to better the world was going to start.

Suddenly, the same girl of mystery who possessed those attractive eyes caught her eyes. She was approaching the mayor and then he welcomed her warmly and with honor then introduced her as the savior of the unification. Orchid gasped and was about to drop her glass. She couldn’t guess in a million year that a lively girl around her own age was the savior of people’s dreams. She set the glass down gently and listened to what the savior was about to say.

At first, the girl sounded to be nervous which made Orchid feel sympathy for her to carrying such a heavy burden on her shoulders but the she paused and started a strong speech which moved Orchid’s heart. As spiritua spoke with more excitement, beads of tear ran down the young priestess’s cheeks due to her enthusiasm. The savior was speaking what dueled in Orchid’s heart for long. It was as if those believes she kept polishing in her heart were shining in front of everyone’s eyes by words of the savior. In the end, like many attendants, she sprang to her feet to applause for the wonderful girl as smiling widely with teary eyes. “Isn’t she wonderful? I’m so glad we finally met her…” She spoke to other companions while wiping tears off her face.

it appears there would not only be dinner, but a show!

More like a speech, regardless it was nice enough, even if abit preachy for Marc's tastes, Atleast for the parts he was actually listening and not oggling his food that lay just out of reach, not that he was a connoisseur of speeches he could say it was a good one, if he actually listened to most of it. As he had nothing really to base a comparison. Maybe some of the railing he got from his drill sergeant, he always went on about "Enjoying youth." and "Live life while you can!" like he was some old self help book. If you could even tell what he was saying underneath that moustache of his, made him look like a walrus the way it hung down like two big white tusks.

Wait, was the speech over?

Ah shit people are cheering.

Clap Marc, clap mildly and with class.

trying his best to act like he had listened at all the man gave a mild clap before looking to the meal before them, wondering if they were to eat yet.. In truth he didn't start because nobody else had, but he'll be damned if he will be just looking at his food get cold any longer.

"Eh?" Marc's face snapped back to Orchid, who seemed to be asking his, and the other's, opinions. "W-well.. She has a way with words that's for certain. probably practiced it more times than I've done drills." he chuckled, hiding the fact he didn't really know what was said beyond "lets do the pilgrimage good and stuff." He took up his glass and held it up. "A toast to our hosts, the Savior and the upcoming pilgrimage. To luck, fortune, the keepers and our poor feet." the man smirked as he rose the glass up, took a drink, a deep drink mind, abit deeper than one might call acceptable on a toast and put the emptied glass back down with a satisfied clink.

Hopefully that was a good enough toast, or at least nobody finds it appalling he finds it suitable to wish for fortune fortune on the same line that he mentions the keepers.

that said, they seemed like a good lot, who would've expected what he was about.

Hopefully.

    ----
There she was, palm resting on the rail's edge and leaning forward ever so slightly, gazing into the allure of the abyss. There was something about heights which she adored. The sense of dread when scaffolding temples and large city structures, the immediate surge of adrenaline at a single misstep, and the mockingly hypnotic quality of the gaze looking down. She spun around and admired the temple with an itch to scale it. " It's only for a second, they won't mind right"? However, before she could even try a loud ringing in her head took her aback and made her grimace. It was only a moment, but she saw her master's gaze. Those cold yellow eyes staring at her from the abyss. Without words she knew that look was focused on her slothful behavior. Adelaide shook her head and turned back for the great hall with a sense of reluctance.

To her surprise the hall was all but empty, with not a sign of human life as it had been a few minutes prior. Leaflets and other various amounts of garbage were left behind, showing signs of a last minute dash. A man's voice echoed through the empty chambers, probably the mayor she assumed as she gazed at the pane glass windows. Each depiction was showing someone standing above a crowd of hopeful peasants, the figure at the forefront seeming to be the savior. Arms opened wide as to welcome them, but above them with a sense of superiority. She nodded her head as she made her way toward the grand hall, where the crowd was unmistakably situated. Their cheers roared down the empty hall, making even her wince at the initial roar of the crowd.

As she took her first steps into the section just for the stewards, she could see all the familiar faces she had just been acquainted with. Out in the crowd she could see the look of reservation on the crowd. Although they knew full well who their charismatic mayor was, the woman on the other hand was an unknown. There was a visible sense of trepidation painted on the faces of the crowd. Adelaide assumed it was out of sheer disbelief that the sage was a mere girl no older than she was. On the other hand, they expected her to come out with an iron fist laced with sweet nothings, just as any priest would. Although they act humble, a priest of the temple probably knew how much of an impact their word has on the hearts and minds of the uneducated masses. A single utterance of excommunication could probably shatter the resolve of even the toughest temple guard.

As she gazed at the familiar woman, the one with the audacity to pat her head, her brows furrowed. The woman in some sense, shocked the crowd and adelaide as she proclaimed to not be anyone special. As expected, the crowd became silent for a moment. An expression of disbelief in some, with looks as if their hearts had sank. Only to be uplifted by another series of platitudes befitting of one in her position. She shook her head with visible disappointment, unsure of whether she was more disgusted with the herd for swallowing the blue pill with such enthusiasm. Or whether she loathed the facade of the savior. By all rights the crowd should have been outraged and chaos should have ensued, for how can humans ever unite under normal circumstances? They are as she said, divided even at the bare essentials, a strong man with nothing is still divided by the fact that their is a difference in strength between him and someone of lesser strength.

Yet these people showed something scarier than an angry mob. No what they showed was homogeneity, like a herd of cattle. They lacked the capacity to think and accepted the empty words laced with kindness and charisma, despite their symbol all but abdicating her responsibility. Adelaide glanced at her companions, who for the most part seemed to buy everything their sage had said. She shook her head and went over to join the others, hiding her discontent behind a slight smile. " Well that was s'mthing, she has a knack for surprising me. Hopefully she'll ave the same suc'ess in our travels too". She too lifted her glass to join in the toast initiated by Marc.

When Spiritua finished her speech, she was filled with immense relief that it was received so well. Her feelings leaned away from the worry of her words meaning, to the fate of the people's hopes that she carries. Unlike the majority of people present who are contented with their simple lives and do not think beyond their island home, much less the Eastern Union, Spiritua had knowledge of Worlds events both past and current. She recalled the internal conflict of the North, the suppression of freedoms in the Empire, the mysterious enigma in the South and the plague of pirates in the East. Although only symbolic in nature, the Journey of Unification may one day bring them all into contact with these current events in which case her optimism and words would require a boost of force.

As she descended the podium many of the onlookers went to her side praising her. She made her way to her Attendants of Ceremony and Stewards of Unity. They were all gathered together but she felt a little overwhelmed with everybody else present. " The crowd and noise should die out once we leave the city gates. Then we can properly meet." she told them all. She did not want to make any banter or small talk with everyone. The Savior wished to enjoy her company with all of them to herself and not be heckled by others. A large entourage followed them all out of Holy Temple Ackeron. The streets were lined with vendors and dancers and crowds of people to bid a fair exodus to the Savior and her Companions.

Once the group were about a hundred or so feet away from the main gates, the masses shouted in unison. " HAIL TO THE JOURNEY!" This was the standard greeting or farewell expression during the Journey of Unification. From then on it was just them. " I hope my little deception was not met too badly among you. " she apologized. " It's nice to meet you all...maybe you guys have some questions about the journey. I will try to answer as much as I can. "

Marc Rondel
Location:Holy Temple Ackeron, San Ska Rae Archipelago Date: Eausen 1st, 997 CYAD Time 11am

For marc, this was most certainly a new experience. being hailed and cheered on his way out was most certainly a welcome change over the usual exits he and his friends made. grumbles of finally having to pay them for their time and efforts were replaced with cheers, their well earned pay was replaced with cheers and chants, and the occasional offering of fruit that a person in the crowd held forward, which he was all but happy to oblige in taking up the offering. A wave of his hat to the crowds as they passed by was all he needed to give back, though he didn't leave his head naked for long, as the savior seemed to really want to get out of this place.

Not that he could blame her, she has likely been awaiting this day for years now.

But once they had exited the town, the cries of the people dieing off in the distance, the savior finally spoke to them.

"The inquisitive priestess, curious and wide eyed, yea played the part well I gotta say. Though, can't say I saw through it, had not a clue what yea looked like till recently." the man chuckled slightly before taking a moment to think on her question. "Well, nope, not really much. Well, I guess there is one for all ya'll folks. How many of yea spent time out in the woods? Don't take offence to me saying, but you all don't seem the type to hunt or fish." he addressed the rest of the group.

"Could be wrong of course, but i don't want to be the only guy out here russelin' up some grub." the mercenary walked on ahead as they talked, his gear clinking with each step he made upon the trail.

Gareth Alber
Exiting the Temple

As they exited the temple it was inevitable that they would be greeted by a cheering crowd. As they walked down the lane flanked on both sides by hundreds of ecstatic people, Gareth couldn't help but feel a bit queasy. He'd never received this magnitude of attention before so it was a bit overwhelming, even if most of the praise was directed at the Savior rather than himself. Despite his quivering nerves, he forced a smile and made sure his gaze remained in front of him. He found that Marc's broad back served as an excellent point of focus since it also served to block out Gareth's vision of the crowd for the most part.

Once they had made it past the roaring crowd and out of the city, Gareth gave a small sigh of relief. Now that it was just their little group, the young man felt more at ease. The Savior took this time to greet them and apologize for her earlier anonymous scouting of her entourage.

"While I didn't expect it, you seem to be a lot more casual than I imagined. N-Not that that's a problem of course! I do hope I can be of use to you as we make this pilgrimage together Lady...er, apologies but I don't believe you ever revealed your name." Gareth said a politely as he could. Perhaps there was a reason she didn't want to reveal it just yet but he asked just in case. It would be awkward calling her by her title every time Gareth wanted to address her. When Marc asked if any of them had any experience in the wild, Gareth shook his head.

"While I have gone out into the wilds to gather herbs and such to make medicine, I can't say that I have any experience spending extended periods of time out of a human settlement. Fortunately, cooking is one of the few things I can safely say I am good at, provided I have the ingredients..." Gareth paused, considering the fact that they would likely have to manually acquire said ingredients while they were moving between settlements on foot. That would pose a problem and Gareth felt bad that Marc seemed to be the only one with that kind of experience. The young man wasn't one to let others slave away for him.

"Um, Sir Marc. I can't say I know anything about hunting but...perhaps you could teach me? I truly want to help in any way I can. Besides, fishing can't be that hard...can it?" He asked unsuredly. Gareth was a bit scared since he didn't know what he was getting himself into but he also knew he wouldn't be able to bear it if he had to sit and defend solely on Marc to survive. That just wouldn't sit right with him. If not for the sake of being useful to the savior, then for himself. Gareth simply hated feeling useless. Understandable since he had spent virtually all of his life helping others.

Character Sheet: Volkan Bey
Location: Port, San Ska Rae Archipelago
Date: Eausen 1st 997 C.Y.A.D. 8:00 A.M.

Volkan Bey along with several other passengers stepped out onto the docks of the port from a sea ship. Finally out and about on dry land, he stretched his arms and legs. For Volkan, being on a boat for several hours had caused a few cramps to agitate his body. After stretching out his system, he heard his stomach growl, which prompted him to search for a town guide. This was his first time in this town, so he was eager to gather information on The Ackeron temple, as well as any dining places. Walking across the grand stretch that led to the town's square, he bumped into an unfamiliar figure, who wore plain, brown robes. The person who collided with Volkan offered no apology nor did they bother to stow their pace. Something about the person's actions bewildered Volkan's mind, yet Volkan continued onwards in his search for directions.

"Excuse me, sir," Volkan politely addressed a man who wore a white vest and brown trousers. The man replied, "How may I help you, oh...you're a naval soldier. Forgive my rudeness." Volkan arranged a smile before the man, "No, it's alright. Do you know where I may find the temple of Ackeron? I've important business there. Do you know any places to eat too?" The man pointed at a bakery, "If you're looking for somewhere light sir, there's that bakery over there. They serve delicious, piping hot bread. Also, the temple's," the man paused to move his index finger towards the town's gate, "Just out that way. Head straight down the path and you'll find the temple in no time. Anything else I can help you with?" Volkan nodded at the man, "No, that'll be all. Thank you." Realizing there wasn't much time left, Volkan beamed for the bakery, desiring a quick bite before his journey to the temple.

Several minutes later, Volkan exited the bakery in a hurry. During his interaction with the baker, Volkan found out that his money, gem, and letter were stolen. While pacing in the direction of the town's square, he remembered that a chocolate robed person rammed into Volkan earlier. Maybe the mysterious individual harbored Volkan's stolen belongings. Volkan's gaze turned to the surrounding towns people in the market. He asked them a single question, "Have you seen a suspicious character wearing a brown robe?" Since the townspeople understood that Volkan served in the Navy, they provided information without any hesitation. No one wanted to invoke the wrath of a sea soldier, especially on the day were everyone was about to celebrate the journey of unification. One woman alerted Volkan, "I saw him venture into the woods with a whole lot of stuff." That's the only answered Volkan necessitated before he broke into a sprint on road to the woods. As he ran, he prayed silently to the Church, asking for forgiveness. He hoped his lateness bared no ill burden towards the Church's advancements.

Location: Woods, San Ska Rae Archipelago
Date: Eausen 1st 997 C.Y.A.D. 9:00 A.M.

After reaching the woods, he spent thirty minutes tracking the thieves' footsteps to a small lit cave. Prior to entering the cave, he heard several voices speaking. A voice that sounded like a young girl's uttered the first clear remark, "I got lucky with my hauls. Anything I should take to the marketplace? I have the money here." Another voice spoke, sounding similar to a man with ruff, rigid vocals, "Good job, gal. I knew I could count on you." When the man finished his comment, another man implored a new topic, "So what should we do now? Do you think it's enough to escape this place? I hate being on the run. I'm dying to return home." Discerning that the voices iterated useless banter, Volkan set foot into the cave, ready to engage the thieves that held his rarities. He spoke vindictively, demanding justice, "You thieves," he proceeded inside the cave, unsheathing his sword, "hand me back my stuff, or face the wrath of the church's blade!" The blonde man shined a brilliant radiance with his words and actions, even in the dimly lit cave.

The thieves stood dumbfounded. Never in their lives have they seen such a specimen to act outrageously vigorous. One of the thieves, a tall man, equal in height to Volkan, snapped at the girl, "You idiot! You stole from a naval sailor?" The man slapped the girl which shocked the other thief, who was smaller, but bulkier, "Hey, whoa there. We can still deal with this. Just relax with the girl, will you?" The two men eyed each other for a mere moment before they moved their gaze upon Volkan's fighting stance. A clanking sound of metal ripped through the cave which echoed a tremendous sound. Blades of steel clashed between two thieves and Volkan.

The bulkier thief with short red hair charged at Volkan with a ferocious swipe. As he swung the sword near Volkan's stomach, the other man shifted his direction to the side in order to position himself for a swift pierce at Volkan's left ribs. Volkan observed their tactics carefully. The man with a rapier moved to the left, forcing the bulkier thief to slam himself against the cave's wall. However, the tall, slim thief with brunette locks managed to pierce Volkan's left side, propelling the blade deep inside. Deep enough that it remained stuck. Oddly enough, Volkan remained standing. With a glint of joy, he pulled the blade out with ease, showing the dastardly thieves his intact left rib. Now with two blades in his hands, Volkan prepared himself to induce a whirlwind style attack. The two men were in shock, since they couldn't believe their own attacks barely scratched the man. Spinning the two blades in a cyclone, Volkan struck the two men hard in their abs respectively with each blade. All the wind in their lungs was knocked out, forcing the two men to fall unconsciousness onto the cave grounds. Meanwhile, a sneaky gal snuck away from the fight with Volkan's treasures. Noticing her absence, Volkan dashed for the woods once again. He was already late to the temple anyway. Once again, he muttered another short prayer to facilitate his devotion to the church.

The two male thieves laid silent on the cold, hard grounds of the cave until a woman poured some water on their faces. Despite the woman's absence at the conflict, her fragile voice incurred an order, "Wake you, you two dolts. He's going after Tiyana. We need to save-," her own cough interrupted her orders," her. Now!" Quickly, the bulkier man sat himself up, alert and primed for their next mission. "Yes, Miss Maud!" On the other hand, the other man looked enraged, as if he was filled with a grudge.

Location: Woods, San Ska Rae Archipelago
Date: Eausen 1st 997 C.Y.A.D. 10:00 A.M.

Deep in the forest, a girl cladded in tattered robes climbed a tree, wanting to avoid her pursuer, a sailor bearing immense strength. In the distance, a man scurried along the blades of grass, fallen tree limbs, and rustling leaves. Pages of a book flied out of his shirt, the area where he was stabbed by the thief's blade. Fortunately, the Church's text was indeed holy, saving Volkan from a deadly strike. He shivered thinking what would have happened, if the man attacked his right side. As the girl hid amidst the branches a top a tree, she frightened herself counting the thundering footsteps from the man in her head. She never wanted this to happen. She only wanted to help Miss Maud. While she thought, she breathed rapidly, gasping due to the pressure. Alas, the two paths met in the matter of several minutes. This time Volkan wouldn't ask any questions. On Volkan's back, an untouched bow and a beautiful set of fine arrows were withdrawn and set to fire at the tree that hid the thief.

She cried, "Wait! Please, don't shoot!" Volkan knew he had to fire at the girl, if he wanted to gather himself at the temple posthaste. Out of the benevolence in his heart, he lowered his bow, demanding the girl answer his question, "Why can't I shoot? Just hand me my things, and you'll be fine. I don't have the stomach to murder any little girls, but I'll do it, if you don't comply with my demands. Give me my stuff; the letter, the gem, and the money." Comprehending Volkan's demands, she chose to tell her story, rather than obeying Volkan's orders, "I will! I will! Just listen to me. You seem like a reasonable man. We don't steal to hurt others. We steal to help ourselves. You see-" An arrow whizzed into a different tree penetrating its outer shell. Volkan commented on her situation, "So what? You think it's okay to steal, because it helps you out? Those people, including me, earned those things. If you want those things, you should work for them honestly." It appeared that a philosophical debate between the two was occurring, so she replied with another remark, "We can't work. Ved, Maud, and Rorik; they're on the run. If they go into town, they'll be arrested and executed. And..." tears streamed down her face, as she struggled to come up with the right words, "They saved me! I was just a homeless orphan barely making scraps in that town. No one wanted me and I was left alone in the streets, until those three handed me an apple. When no one else would bother to aid a child, they took me in. Who would've thought that three criminals on the run held more compassion than the rest of the town. They treated me as a human and I...I can't lose them." When Volkan heard those words, a few tears formed near his eyes. Her words were so heart wrenching that they encouraged Volkan to let out a small drizzle onto the forest's base. His thoughts became filled with his own family, since her story reminded him of his family's bond.

Behind Volkan, three armed thieves' appeared, but they weren't belligerent. The scene touched everybody, and small puddles began to form along the forests' base from each respective individual. Miss Maud requested, "Tiyana. Please, just hand over the stolen goods to the man. I concede to this man, and I don't want to see any of my comrades hurt." The tall man commented, "No. We can't just hand that stuff over. That gem there is-," Rorik, the bulky man, interrupted Ved, the tall man, "Would you shut your yap, Ved. Can't you see that even if we lost our current haul, we'll still have each other? Don't you remember the time we put into raising Tiyana this past year? If you let money get the better of you Ved, we'll just be like the people we steal from." Volkan watched the event unfold with uncertainty. He didn't have the motivation to shoot Tiyana, so he sheathed his bow, issuing himself as a non combatant to the other thieves, "You four listen. Maud, Rorik, Ved, and Tiyana. I received that gem from a friend who passed away. That letter Tiyana has is an order given to me by the church. The money's important too, but I need the letter and gem. I'm willing to set aside a few coins to help you out, since I wouldn't want a family to separate. Do we have a de-," Ved, now equipped with his blade, attempted to strike at Volkan's head. However, Ved's aim failed him, and he missed the strike due to a backstab from Maud. She drove the dagger deep into Ved's back, which penetrated his lungs.

Ved fell to his knees. While his back dripped copious amounts of blood, he uttered no words. The man driven by greed died to the blade from his own friend. "Rest in peace, Ved. I should've put him down a long time ago. Past events made him insane over these freaky gems." Volkan offered his thanks. That was the second time that he detected death was almost upon him.

A sudden, firm wind knocked into the trees, flinging Tiyana out into the skies. Fortunately, Rorik caught the girl, preventing her from a horrible landing. With Ved dead, the three silently lamented over their fallen comrade. Tiyana finally handed Volkan back his money, gem, and letter. Before Volkan departed, he distributed several coins to the group in silence. He desired no thanks, for he only sought to head towards the temple.

One, two, and now another sprint. Run, Volkan, run.

Location:Holy Temple Ackeron, San Ska Rae Archipelago
Date: Eausen 1st, 997 CYAD 11:00 A.M.

The mighty rush occurred straight after Volkan's small donation. He stopped by the town only to pick up a crisp, warm roll to consume on route to the temple. Although, the detour delayed Volkan from his job, which he regretted heavily, he was glad he met the thieves. He learned that the gems generate some sort of insanity, or greed, and that the thieves bared a striking resemblance to a caring family.

It wasn't long before Volkan succumbed to fatigue. His legs dropped a bit, influencing him to hunch forward as he ran. There was no choice for Volkan, so he picked his feet up slowly, making himself do a mix of a run and a walk. After all, the later he arrived at the temple, the worse the church would perceive him as a potential steward of unity. Still, he worried whether the church was even waiting for him. Then, out of nowhere, he spotted a group walking and chatting with one another.

Volkan waved at the group, while edging himself closer to the band of travelers. At speaking distance, he raised his voice to the group, "Hello! -huff- I'm heading to the Ackeron temple. Please, tell me, is the event still going -huff- on? I'm supposed to join a group -huff- for a journey of unification." He finished his statement with a half smile, since he was too tired to express himself warmly.

    -----
Adelaide expected the cheers to persist for a few minutes, maybe a second standing ovation just to emphasize the spirit and gratitude of the sage's people. However, the herd didn't cease their cheering and their energy continued to assault their group. Cheers from adoring subjects, hands reaching out, and a palpable sense of envy converged on her small group. Though the majority of the people had smiles, in fact, it was like an sea of perpetual smiles. Some had a look of utter discontent when they found out who was accompanying their beloved figure of unification. Adelaide ignored the outliers, as they were mostly drowned out by the incessant majority that was mindlessly cheering on the savior. They were like puppies, reaching out for the savior even as they left the city itself. Chanting their mantra, still doing whatever they could to try and gain the attention of the savior as the group left Tyrus.

It soon became apparent they were taking a path off the main road, isolated and away from Tyrus. Marc was the first to respond to the savior, something which didn't surprise adelaide at all. Among their group, he with the exception of the deceptive savior, was the one who stood out the most. Lacking the traditional church attire and possessing an informal attitude, he was certainly the easiest to remember. Just like adeliade expected, he had nothing of worth to ask and in fact, he seemed to be devoid of anything useful at all. Her eyes squinted momentarily as he went on to ask if anyone knew how to hunt as opposed to the fishy situation they were in. In the moment that she paused gather her thoughts, the timid gareth went on to converse with marc.

While they conversed she took the opportunity to walk beside the savior, bowing her head slightly out of what she perceived to be respect. " Something's been bothering me savior. We were in the safest place in the eastern union, surrounded by soldiers who could probably overcome our concerted efforts single handedly..yet ya dec'ided to leave all that behind to take a journey with us...What exactly are you after? You, the most importint figure in the union would jeopar---".

The sound of heavy footsteps flipped an instinctive switch in her head. Adelaide in one fell swoop reached into her pocket and tossed a knife three paces before the ragged man approaching them. She stepped forth drawing her blade, her head bobbed once as she scanned his appearance, taking note of his tattered vest and roughed up appearance. " That'll do pig, not nother step forward".

Yseult DuBoisLocation: The Road Beyond, Holy Temple Ackeron, San Ska Rae Archipelago Date: Eausen 1st, 997 CYAD Time: 10am-11am
Companions: Everybody! Mood: uh ... Normal Goal: Making herself useful.

Orchid remarked and Marc toasted. Gareth looked somewhere between inspired and concerned, and even Adelaide seemed to have enjoyed the speech, if it could be said that she seemed to enjoy anything. All was right with the world, and whatever differences divided them, they were at least united in their deference to the young woman speaking from the podium. Yseult managed to scarf down her food before the aforementioned joined them,to reassure the group that they would all have time to acquaint themselves properly once the crowd was behind them. The delicate young woman led them all to the gates of the temple, and out onto the main throughfare. Yseult couldn't help but feel something like a celebrity as people from the hall began to join them. Their party moved through the crowded streets, headed for the gates of the city.

As they passed, citizens threw flower petals and coloured rice, sang praises and prayers, danced and swayed. Painted faces and bright costumes passed them by. It seemed like only minutes before the large city gates loomed ahead, the threshold of their journey, the portal to their fate. Butterflies took flight in Yseult's stomach, and the unified cry of "Hail to the Journey" earned a surprised squeek. She was grateful the sound was lost to the final uproar of applause. Once they had passed from the city, the noise dropped off abruptly. It was funny to think that, behind them, the city would be celebrating long into the night.

Before them, on the other hand, the windswept countryside stretched out as far as the eye could see, bathed in intermitten sunlight. It was only now that Spiritua addressed her earlier deception, attempting to pay for the percieved slight with information.

Yseult was happy to simply follow along, her mind still abuzz with childish imaginings as to what their journey might hold, the welcomes they would recieve. They probably wouldn't even require the Stewards, after all ... who would want to stop the Saviour?

As Adelaide drew the saviour into a conversation of intentions, Yseult, like Gareth, turned her attention to Marc, hoping also to make herself useful throughout the journey. Just think what the others would say if she came home knowing how to hunt and fish. She was only just realising she'd been momentarily excited to kill something when the blonde stranger clad in blue trotted up to the group. He looked like he'd been running for some time, practically doubled over where he stood. Further inspection revealed signs of combat, of physical exertion, scuffs and marks. With a rapier at his hip, and a bow about his shoulders, he looked like a man of action, and spoke of being yet another Steward.

Adelaide was at the ready, demanding he stand and approach no further. Yseult's brow knit with concern as she glanced between the two fighters. Surely she was over-reacting, but she WAS a Steward. It was more her place to decide what was safe than Yseult's. Not wanting to step on any toes at this, the outset, Yseult quietted herself over steepled fingers, reassuring herself that prudence was one tenth of wisdom.

Pilgrimage begins

After her speech, the savior stepped down from podium into crowd of attendees who were hailing and cheering and waving enthusiastically for her, her companies and her stewards. Orchid was so excited and focused on her that could care less about the ruckus surrounding her. Among the attendees, were standing a group of children in neat uniforms who didn’t had eyes only for the savior but kept glancing over at a cleric with medallion of companionship hanging on her chest.
“Is she leaving too, Ned?”
“Yea… see, she’s wearing one of those medallions…”
“Who’ll teach us then? I’ll miss her…”
“How should I know? Probably another priestess…”

While a pair of kids were talking about their former teacher, a third one pushed her way through the crowd out of her guardian’s sight and reached for Orchid’s white robs. Orchid, who was following the savior, halted as felt the skirt of her robs being yanked. She looked back to see a little girl clinging to her clothes, so bent and hugged the child, picking her up in her arms. “What are you doing here, Dot? You might get lost in the crowd…” She said and Dot hugged her back tightly. “I want to go with Orc…” Said the little girl sweetly. “Aw… my sweetie… untie should go alone. It’s her pilgrimage; no one can do that for her. But I’ll be back and tell you stories about everything I saw and did… ” Orchid kissed the girl and put her down but another child hugged her from behind. “You too, Pete? Be a man and stop crying. It’s not like I’m going to die…” She said and kissed the boy too but couldn’t guarantee the truth of her words. She wasn’t sure if she really could return alive or meet her student again. The path of pilgrim was full of unexpected dangers. After Pete, kids appeared one after the other each in need of a goodbye kiss, a hug or some soothing words. When other priestess finally took children away, Orchid noticed the pilgrims had already left the temple. She used all her strength to force herself forward among the heavy population as fast as she could. Only when the crowed decreased, she managed to join the rest of companions. Shortly after that, the group passed gates of town and convoys’ fuss couldn’t reach them anymore. Instead of cheers and screams they could hear birds chirping, bugs buzzing and leaves dancing in morning breeze. As nature’s peace fell upon them, the savior finally spoke, apologizing about her little prank before the ceremony. Seemingly she has surprised everyone but no one had been bothered at all. “It was so kind to meet us before the ceremony. I’ve to confess that you had my interest and after that I feel more relaxed around you. If I had met you just after introduction, approaching you as a friend would become hard while being all formal during this long journey could be depressing.” She spoke her opinion of that joke and was glad that Gareth had asked savior about her name sooner because she was so curious to know but too shy to ask.
Orchid observed members of the small group of pilgrims, thinking about those many days they were supposed to travel along side and backing each other up. She was familiar with getting along with the other two priests but knew a little about the stewards. For instance, it sounded new to her when Marc asked them about providing food.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Rondel… I know herbology and biology but have never hunted even once. Actually, I doubt if I’m even capable of taking a life… unless it belongs to a plant! If required, I can gather edible herbs from forest and fields but when I traveled to Ackeron, I stopped by each village and town on the way so didn’t need to look for food by my own.” She replied to the mercenary who seemed to be a veteran fighter and adventurer.
By the time she was talking to Marc, another conversation caught her attention. It was Adelaide who was questioning the savior about her choice of going on the pilgrimage. Orchid used to believe that the answer was obvious but when heard it from the unbeliever girl, found herself curious about how the savior would answer. Unfortunately, she didn’t have the chance to hear her response as sudden appearance of a man in navy attire surprised them all. Adelaide was the first to react by holding the man back by her blade. Her reaction seemed to be the wisest choice but the navy outfit ranged the bell for Orchid. The man was panting hard, probably for running for a long time and his clothes were tattered as if had gotten into a fight, even his blond hair was sort of on the air, but what took cleric’s attention more than these were papers sticking out of the gash on his shirt. Orchid recognized church’s texts in first glance. She stepped forward and stood shoulder by shoulder with Adelaide. “You said you were supposed to join the journey? Then may I have your name and your letter, please?” She asked the mess of a man as could remember that there were more profiles and armbands in the box given to her that she had left behind in Ackeron.
