Seno, Suzume
T H E B A S I C S
Name: Suzume Seno (Previously Suzume Richards)
Nickname: People often call her "Little Bird" based on her first name and short stature.
"Nicknames are a waste of time."
Age: 25
Height: 5'0" / 152.4 cm
Weight: 108 lbs / 48.98 kg
Date of Birth: 24th of December
Place of Birth: Suginami-ku/15th Ward
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexal
"A relationship is the last thing on my mind right now."
Appearance:
While Suzume is on the job, her attire consists of the proper CCG regulated uniform: A black blazer slightly larger than her frame (This was the smallest blazer that would fit her), a matching black pencil skirt (upon receiving, she had to take in the waist, or the skirt would slip down too much), a crisp clean, white blouse and a matching black tie (tucked into her skirt no less). Suzume would take proper care to make sure that when she wore the uniform, nothing was out of place, sometimes obsessing with perfection while she was alone.
On the other hand while she is home, she is often seen (only by her mother) wearing rumpled tee shirts often displaying logos of her favorite TV shows or an old CCG training shirt. And to pair the rumpled shirts, she would wear track pants either in grey or red. Her appearance is not much of a concern at home to the point that she even wears a headband to keep her bangs out of her face. It's not like anyone she knew from work would see her like this, right?
While out in the public (not on the job) Suzume often wears rather modest clothings, a plain shirt paired with a light jacket and matching skirts and casual boots. She doesn't like to stick out of a crowd and draw unwanted attention. Not because she's socially withdrawn, but because it's too much of a hassle to be bothered by strangers, and she finds it weird how some girls cake on makeup and dress up all flashy and revealing. That's just too much for Suzume to handle.

Personality:
The first thing someone notices about Suzume, is the "resting bitchface syndrome" and will more than likely pin her as a joy kill or rude. Even mean. Well, one would not be far off. Suzume never mixes pleasure with work or even- well... work. Pretty much in the life of Suzume Seno, everything is work for her. Constantly holding up a guarded demeanor. You're not her friend, her close pal, buddy- you're either a coworker or an acquaintance and that's that. No one gets close to her unless you are her mother, and even then Suzume holds up her walls and bottles things in. She is not one to be warm and fuzzy.
While at work, Suzume is very curt and to the point. She considers herself to be very book smart as she spent all of her CCG training studying the hardest she can. Luckily her hard work paid off and she prides herself on the knowledge she has memorized. As she talks, her sentences are always carefully-worded and factual. If needed to type up a report, she will have a 12 page report on your desk by the end of the day. Despite all the airs of being smart and a walking dictionary, her "street smarts" are lacking. She is not up-to-date on all the common lingo people uses these days, and does not understand all the common trends. In fact, Suzume is the worst when it comes to reading people. If anyone is even a little forward with her (excluding coworkers at the CCG), she'll begin to suspect that they MUST be a ghoul and will stop at nothing to find evidence to support her hunch. This has often lead her into embarrassing situations and reprimands from her superiors.
On a more deeper level, Suzume is not proud of herself and often blames herself for everything that goes wrong in her life. She has convinced herself that she is not pretty and doesn't bother trying to work hard on making herself attractive to people. Being presentable is one thing, but making herself desired is another thing and something that she has given up trying. The fact that she is only half Japanese is a big struggle in her life. Personally, she doesn't see herself fit in with the rest of society. Especially so when she spent time in America. She wasn't like other people and only felt like she was half of the culture. Nowadays she even resents half of her heritage due to her scummy philandering father.
If Suzume had one true passion besides her obvious showiness of knowledge, it was her hatred for the Ghouls. If it weren't for the ghouls, perhaps she'd might still be living a rather healthier lifestyle. Perhaps if it weren't for Ghouls, her best friend might still be here. If it weren't for Ghouls, maybe she wouldn't have to have moved to America. Maybe her parents might have stayed together and maybe she could of led an oblivious life instead of seeing her depressed mother crying every night in solitude. Instead she is stuck with waking up in cold sweat every night from violent nightmares about her traumatizing experience with Ghouls during her childhood. Suzume is dead set on eradicating the Ghouls. A genocide of the ghouls sounds pretty good to her.
History:
On the eve of Christmas, Henry and Nadeshiko Richards were blessed with their daughter Suzume. The birth of Suzume was a very special occasion for the two as their first child two years prior was a stillborn. The Richards took great care in raising their daughter, expecting nothing but great things from her. Just like every child, she went to preschool, made multiple friendships, was a very social child and mad her parents proud. As she grew older, she attended an elementary school with one of her preschool friends, and their friendship grew closer. They were best friends. Inseparable. Often going home together and working on homework with each other. By the second year of elementary school, another friend was added into their close bonds. He was a shy boy who transferred in to their school from another ward. The three of them became a trio. They always went to the park and played after school and would stay out until the street lights came on.
Eventually all children were advised not to stay out too late and to head home straight after school when a dead body showed up not too far from their school. Obviously the work of a ghoul. This didn't bother them too much. It's not like it was anyone they knew, right? After classes, instead of heading to the park, they would spend time in either Suzume's or her best friend's house until dinner time. One day, the transfer student offered for the two of them to visit his house since they haven't spent time at his place yet. Thinking nothing of it, the two girls accompanied their friend to his home. As they entered his apartment, they noticed there were a lack of furniture and decorations that gave the place a homey feeling. In fact there was a constant smell that was very off putting. Suzume could remember every single detail that happened next exactly.
Before they entered their friend's room, a taller man loomed up behind the too girls and blood erupted from her female friend as a large appendage speared through her back and out through her chest. As the blood poured out, her friend slumped over like a doll. Time felt like it slowed down. It always slowed in her dreams. She didn't have time to register what happened. She didn't have time to let out a scream as moments after the front door busted open and men in suits stormed into the apartment. A loud ruckus commenced as Suzume couldn't help but stare at the lifeless body of her best friend. Shouting from the invading men and screams of the perpetrator filled her ears as the battle continued on inside the apartment. The last thing Suzume heard before fainting was her ex-friend, the transfer student yelling "Big brother!" before joining the fray.
Suzume eventually woke in the government building of the CCG, being bombarded with questions before being released to her parents waiting outside. Her time in Tokyo didn't last for much longer as her parents thought staying there would be too traumatizing for their daughter after the funeral of her best friend. They did not move elsewhere in the country, up north near Nadeshiko's parents, but instead of the wish of Henry, the Richards moved from Japan all the way to America. The East coast to be exact. Suzume spent the rest of her time growing up in the American school system, adopting the nickname of "Sue" as she grew fed up with teachers and classmates butchering her first name. As she went away to college, the relationship between her parents grew strained and her father hardly stayed home for long. Her father changed for the worse. Or perhaps his facade was finally dropping.
Suzume's mother finally filed for a divorce when the mistress of her husband showed up on her doorstep to taunt her one night. Suzume dropped out of college to stay with her mother and to be an emotional crutch during the ordeal of the divorce. Once the divorce was officially filed, Nadeshiko dropped her last name and began to use her maiden name again "Seno". Suzume, not wanting to be associated with her father anymore also adopted Seno as her last name. The two decided to leave America and to return to Japan. They spent time with Suzume's aunt as her grandparents had passed away while she was in America. Suzume hardly left home anymore. Only leaving whenever her mother forced her to run errands. Suzume and her mother often would get into heated debates almost every night about Suzume finding full time employment, as she would not be allowed to stay at home all day.
Eventually Suzume found an advertisement looking for new recruits for the CCG. With the thought of her dead best friend in mind, she thought she would honor her by enlisting with the CCG. For the next three years, Suzume trained her very best at the academy and graduated at the top of her class. Suzume and her mother moved back to Tokyo once Suzume was to begin her career as a Rank 2 Ghoul Investigator. Within the next few years, Suzume excelled at her job, despite being a little weak on her fighting with a Quinque and has recently been promoted to Rank 1 Ghoul Investigator. A very proud moment in her life.
Goals/Aspirations: Even though she was recently promoted to Rank 1 Junior Ghoul Investigator, she already has her eyes set on First Class Senior Ghoul Investigator. She dreams big. Also to avenge her childhood best friend by killing off all of the Ghouls in existence. They are nothing but the scum of the earth.
Fears: Suzume's number one fear is being an absolute and total failure. If she is not doing something right, she has the crushing fear of being failure at everything. Failing her mother, failing her friend, failing the human race. She's not entirely aware of this: but she is afraid of stepping foot inside the 15th Ward. Despite there usually not being a lot of activity going on there, the looming trauma of her friend dying right in front of her eyes haunts her and will probably trigger a reaction if she were to step foot inside Ward 15. Talking about and reading and hear about Ward 15 has no effect on her.

Quinque: Maximillian: A-Rank Bikaku Quinque. The Quinque takes on the form of a Halberd. A polearm topped with an axe-like blade and spike on the end. The length of the entire Quinque is about 6 feet. An entire foot taller than Suzume.
Rank: 1
Partner/Team: None at this point in time as she has officially graduated from Rank 2 to Rank 1
Fighting Style: The fighting style used with Maximillian is to keep her opponent away from her or to disarm them, which is often hard for her to do as her opponents have appendages that are far reaching and are physically attached to their body. Not only that, but she finds herself at a disadvantage with Ukaku ghouls when they throw projectiles at her.
Strengths: Keeping ghouls at bay and poking them to stay back until anyone else arrives to engage in combat. She is not a front line fighter and excels best as a support. That way less mistakes happen and less casualties on her side occur.
Weaknesses: Close up combat. Fighting anything closer than her six foot Quinque. As well as projectile combat. It's a lot harder to block incoming attacks when it's smaller than the appendages she had been trained to fight. Also it's hard for her to fight solo and not in a unite. She is a support, not necessarily offense.
Missions Under Their Belt: Suzume has assisted with various raids throughout her time as a Rank 2 investigator.
Successful: Suzume has participated in various missions supporting her squad and assisting in the kills of various ghouls. She had only killed one ghoul herself and he was already half-dead when she ended his life.
Failed: Suzume has been in at least two raids that were unsuccessful through no fault of her own. While there was one raid that she was apart of that failed because of being terrified by the ghoul that they were after and froze up which resulted in the ghoul's escape.
"Failure will never overtake me."
