Some Day You Will Ache Like I Ache
Preface: Steampunk is a futuristic version of the Victorian era. Antique Victorian era meets modern day industrial, mixed with botched science, great fiction (Think '2000 Leagues Under The Sea' and 'Journey to the Center of the Earth', 'Treasure Planet', or anything Jules Verne), and of course, tea. Themes include wild west, undiscovered land, time, air and sea travel, and the class differences between upper and lower is still great.
Years and years ago, the country had a king who was hungry for power. All that changed when war and revolution started, fueling the need for superior killing machines. Scientists created the ultimate power source for automated killing machines, BattleMechs, and the power source was people. Once the new regime was in place in a more democratic society, the guilty scientists obliterated the warehouse of the machines, hoping never to see their evils brought back to life and used for the use of murder and war again.
Seventeen scientists, over 20 years, dwindled to three. Three fell to one, and one left behind a small weaponry of the old machines, still usable, and a band of seasoned treasure hunters are looking for the so-called horde. If the treasure hunters find the weapons before anybody else, they'd be the strongest crew. If they fail, they could end up at the barrel end, or worse, dead. And it's not only them, but this new 'democratic' government that would like to be a little more imperialistic and has greedy eyes on weaker neighboring nations, as all would be weaker if they had access to the most versatile power cells, more powerful than steam and longer lasting than coal. It's a race to the secrets left behind by one lonely old scientist to his nephew, the captain of this crew of treasure seekers recently down on their luck, and who ever else may have heard.

Place of birth, status in society (son of a carpenter, daughter of governor)
Reason for joining the Perituri (you are already member of the ship and have at least one-two years experience)
Place on ship (Please no doubles, I can't have seven engineers. You must be usable to the ship and crew, no aristocrats along for the ride without a good reason and a damn good skill they use)
Life story: What brought you here, what do you believe (religion, morals, or otherwise)
Tools of your trade: No epic plasma guns that fire strippers and the tears of Christ into the cosmos. No God Moding. No geniuses or boy/girl wonders. Have a couple of gizmos if you wish, special clothes for work versus when docked, etc.
Who are you?: What do you love? Your fears? Your dreams? The thing you want most? Your greatest downfall? Flaws? Best features?
If you have a picture of a human, use it. No anime pictures please. No animal hybrids, no demon/angel/god/cthulu/spagetti monster/fairy hybrids, no vampires or werewolves. This is a slower RP, be warned. I will post my character later.
