Fallout: Bayou Blues

grant me eyes

War. War never changes.

Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything: from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage.

In the year 2077, after millennia of armed conflict, the destructive nature of man could sustain itself no longer. The world was plunged into an abyss of nuclear fire and radiation.

But it was not, as some had predicted, the end of the world. Instead, the apocalypse was simply the prologue to another bloody chapter of human history. For man had succeeded in destroying the world - but war, war never changes.

In the early days, thousands were spared the horrors of the holocaust by taking refuge in enormous underground shelters, known as vaults. But when they emerged, they had only the hell of the wastes to greet them...

The wastelands are a inhospitable place with no remorse and which it is not willing to chew you up and spit you back out so that monsters in the wastes could finish you off. But over 200 years, settlements and places of civilization have shown up. Places like Megaton in the Capital Wasteland, and Junktown in California. All because no one can survive in the wasteland for a prolonged period of time.

Unlike you, you just happen to be that guy or gal that looks a raider's ugly face in the eyes and spits in them. Or not, you could be someone harmless who doesn't know even why they are out here.

But as said before, the wasteland has some civilization so those who cannot survive can cower behind iron walls. But down here, there is no civilization in the Bayou. New Orleans is the closest your going to get, but even that is destroyed and almost beyond recognition.

Come and sit down by the campfire, let the Bayou Blues drift off of you.
