There are 2 types of Gods:

The Otherworldly Gods, who reside in a different realm than humans, only accessible through extreme means that either involve taboo or death. They preside over natural things not found directly on earth (ie, the sun, moon, and stars, the weather, thunder, etc.), as well as Faith-Based Magics like Light/Holy and Dark. The access to these magics have been gifted to these humans by these gods, which is why humans like to say magic is a gift from the gods. They're referring to the Otherworld Gods

Then there are the Ancient Gods, who preside over various forms of nature. They reside on Earth and are almost always in slumber. Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Poison, Ice, etc. While these gods sleep, their essence spreads out over the earth and may inject themselves into humans, giving them natural magic ability. However, this magic is still borrowed from the god. These gods have been around for as long as Earth as been around, and are mostly invisible to being recognized by Earthen Denizens

Humans have always relied on magic to bring out the secrets in the world to make it a better place. Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, Thunder, etc. as well as the powerful faith-based magics Holy and Dark to do the will of their gods. These magics have been used to make, preserve life, and preserve the sacredness of the land, whether that land is mountains, deserts, plains, etc. They've managed to expand themselves pretty well and advance pretty far while still preserving the world's gifts and nature

However, there are a group of people who believe that the age of the gods is over and that humans don't need them. The leader of this group ended up becoming a king who plunged the world into a dark time by branding magic as heresy and taboo and sending the Church and the Inquisition after them. Public executions for magic became a constant sight, par for the course, magic-themed books and epics were burned from libraries. This caused the Otherworldly Gods to shun Earth and eliminate their magic access. He then went about expanding over the entirety of the country, convinced that there are no ancient gods slumbering. Needless to say, in an excavation campaign, he stumbled upon one of these Ancient Gods and woke them up, angering them. This woke up ALL the Ancient Gods, and subjected all its denizens, innocent or not, to their wrath.
They not only plunged all the magic from the earth, but they put a curse upon the lands. While they can't eliminate magic from the human directly, they CAN prevent them from recovering mana naturally

a81b583d3c39cac8e0feebceb912b770.jpg

There only seems to be one way to reverse the curse, as told by the Ancient Gods. Destroy their Titans and retrieve their essence. Taking their essence puts the Ancient God back to slumber and returns the magic back to the earth for all and the world to use again. It's not that easy though, as Titans are colossal beings that hold all the magic of an element. Any one Titan can destroy all of humanity, so the Ancient Gods decided to show a bit of mercy. Where the Ancient Gods sleep, there is a sigil. Activate it to summon the Titan individually. Then defeat it

With no magic to assist them, and having to fight forces sent by Gods, the Denizens of the Earth are fighting an uphill battle. Who will you be? A soldier on the frontlines? A seer who works as an advisor? A normal person just trying to make an honest living? What are your goals? What is your calling? No matter what, you'll likely be caught in the crossfire

Location: Wakefield, Capital City of the country of Ishrion
Time: 0900
Weather: Overcast; 56 degrees
Population: Roughly 700,000
Average Class: Middle-Upper Class
Crime Rate: Negligible due to the heavy presence of heavily armed and highly trained guards
Monarch: King Richard V
Magic Specialty: Negligent
Battle Specialty: Artillery
Production Specialty: Weaponry (Specifically Projectile Weaponry)
Titans?: ???

Ishrion is a city full of innovation, merchantry, and easy living. Even as the world without Magic has fallen on hard times as a whole, major Monarch capitals like Wakefield are still relatively easy off. All the Aristocrats, Soldiers, business and the Monarchy all reside here, the Monarch living in the glorious Castle Ravenskull and protected by the 2 guilds, White Feather, and Black Seraphs, guilds of Paladins and Dark Knights respectively. However, things aren't peaceful. Things haven't been peaceful for the past year. Restlessness is the most peaceful this world can get without the gods. Ever since King Richard went on a campaign and ended up shunning the Otherworldly Gods and Awakening the Ancient Ones and making them eliminate the magic and seal them in Titans for them to take back by the sweat on their brow and the Magic they've already learn but can't recover. Economies and Countries are pretty much dependent on how easily and cheaply they can make Mana Potions and acquire magic relics. King Richard thought that humans could get along easily without the Gods, but after seeing the state of the world without it, he's had an epiphany and sees his wrongdoing.

Now 1 year later from that event, with a revolution and a war from neighboring countries on his head that's contingent on how well he can sell getting those Titans found and killed, he's gathering the Citizens of Wakefield together to discuss his grand plan. However, the townsfolk are restless, as these Titans have been searched for non-stop with no luck, it's not looking all that well for King Richard and the entire state of Ishrion as a whole, and probably the entire world and all its Denizens

The proclamation will take place at Noon and the Feathers and the Seraphs are out making their rounds and socializing with the people, trying to brief them as much as possible about the plan without giving away the classified information and maybe conjure up some support from the rightfully faithless townsfolk. Some want to see King Richard resign, some dead, some just to watch him flop like a fish, some overthrown and imprisoned for Crimes against Humanity. Some want the Monarchy fall and replaced with something more democratic. Whatever the reason, all eyes of Wakefield, and other countries are sitting on the shoulders of King Richard and his Charisma and his plan

A year had passed since her exile. One entire year, and Mika spent it training her body and mind. In the less populated corners of Wakefield, that's where she would go. The rest of the city was in prosperity and wealth, despite all else she'd heard of outside the borders. One thing was very clear to her: the Perx tribe would pay. Fame, glory, and wealth would merely be lessened in the face of raw, unadulterated vengeance. So she spent her days training, exercising, plotting. She'd find old pieces of cloth and wood, making them into training dummies to test her strength and agility. Punch after punch, kick after kick, strike after strike, the dummies would fall. And then she'd build them again, only to make them fall once more.

After a rigorous amount of exercise, Mika takes a step back from the dummy and lounges against the wall behind her. Beads of sweat dripped from her chin and arms, the result of a successful workout. Her breath was hitched as she inhales and exhales, trying to slow her heartbeat. Early morning exercises was what motivated her for the rest of the day to come. She drags a small bucket over to her, filled with temperate fountain water and uses her hands to cup the transparent liquid into her mouth. She did this a few times before changing to washing her face with the same water. Reversing the order of these would be very unhealthy for her. Were this her tribe, she would be forced to use the same bucket of water for bathing and drinking until she was to be sent out to find a source of water. Fortunately, she was in the borders of a most prosperous city, where the water was as free as the boundless sky above.

She looks at the clock tower in the distance from the slightly boarded window. It was nine o'clock. Perfect timing, she thought. After a stretch of her limbs, she stands up to the cracking sound of her joints. It was relief of having her tendons and muscles stretched after being worn. She rotates the cuff of her shoulders to loosen them, then heads out of the abandoned house, looking towards the main hub which was visible from her section.

"Well," Mika mutters, "time to move on." With that, she walks towards the center of the city, ready to face today's challenges.

With it being in the mid-fifties, it wasn't odd to see people wearing jackets, sweaters, and maybe some heavy coats if they're weaker to the cool wind that blew around steadily, yet as for Eira Mclaren, she wore only a dirty and small looking dress with slight tears and holes near the bottom of her sides. Despite the inconvenience of her clothing, she wasn't cold like one would expect due to her more ice-binding nature, although that didn't stop her from noticing the sideways glances from those of higher classes; watching them walk past her with their heads held high as if they own the streets themselves. She hadn't even been in Wakefield for a long time -maybe a day at best- but Eira was already regretting coming to this place for many reasons. One being the fact that people didn't take too kindly to the poor here, regardless if they were middle or high class -or that's at least what she's experienced personally here. The other being the fact that she could feel the sense of animosity towards the king here, which only made her feel that much more uneasy and tense as she wandered around blindly; her bare feet patting lightly on the dirty ground.

A sudden pain in her stomach made her pause in her steps, putting a hand gently over her stomach and glancing around in search for an open market or store nearby where she could easily take a loaf of bread or maybe some fruit to-go. If not, well, she'd just have to wait until later on to eat -maybe even until tomorrow if she wasn't lucky.

In the back of her mind, Eira knew that stealing even the smallest loaf of bread wouldn't be easy considering the sheer number of guards around and-- Eira hid behind a small building now, watching as some of the White Feathers and Black Seraphs patrolled around, stopping every other person to ask them questions. This rose flags in Eira's mind despite being mildly curious at the same time, thinking it best not to interact with them just yet...although they didn't appear to be doing much harm. What were they doing and why? Eira's mind grew with contradictions to her sense of staying hidden or fleeing, instead coming out of hiding and pretending as if she hadn't seen anything. Simply turning a different direction with less people and continuing on her way hopefully to find a discarded apple on the ground or, maybe, someone would be kind enough to give her something if she kept wandering around long enough.

One year. One full, long, nonstop year. Ashlynn has led her people to their sacred land, built the village, and settled in only to find out more had needed to come in. Eventually a kingdom had formed and Ashlynn was near the top of the ladder. She had still been looked upon as an elder and the founder of the kingdom of Somber, but she could not compete with the elders wisdom. She had stepped down from a powerful role to live in the higher class. Of course... That role didn't last.

About halfway through the year, she had been taken from a hunt by the kings knights. She had been alone and an easy target. Being a creature born of magic, the knights had seen her as a way to track the Titans sigils as they would be filled with mana. She was brought to the kingdom in shackles as to not try anything and her belongings taken. She was thrown in the prison until the king saw her almost 2 months later. There they had an agreement. In return for her services in finding the sigils and helping him, they would open a peaceful trade route with Somber as the kingdom could only do so much with the resources that were left.

Here she stood now, on the steps of the castle bridge, watching and waiting for her chance to hold her end of the deal. She had her crossbow on her back, axe's on her sides, and everything someone needed to make a potion at the ready. She drank a small bit of her mana vial, which was clearly pure mana, and reattached it to her belt.

Hananya’s ears flicked around as she stopped walking to stand upright. She frowned as she could see the city in the distance. She could hear and smell a lot of humans, making the Kewan uneasy about this. She wanted to turn around and head back into the safety of her forest. Hananya huffed as she crossed her arms, still trying to decide what she was going to do. She would have just gone back into the woods but… it had been almost a fortnight since her last meal and the Kewan was becoming impatient. She had not been successful in hunting for days and needed meat.

A low rumble from her abdomen made the creature sigh gruffly, despite how much she hated humans she knew she had to eat. Maybe if she was careful she could sneak in there, buy some meat and leave with no problems. She took the hood of her wine-red cloak and put it over her head and started making her way into the city.

As she got closer, the Kewan started becoming anxious. She was not wearing anything other than her cloak, black and ripped breeches and a thin white cloth around her chest. There was nothing to hide her large, bear-like feet or tail. Trying to make it less noticeable, she wanted to hold it up, but it was staying tucked between her legs where it could easily be seen. Maybe she would get lucky and they would not be noticed. Breathing in deeply, the Kewan started making her way through into the city, trying to ignore the stares from humans who seemed alarmed by her 9ft height. Surely they had seen worse than her, right? Keeping her blue eyes locked forward, she kept going.

Sir Avery Valencia
Wakefield Town Square

Sir Avery Valencia was on orders to patrol the city, making sure everything was in order and that there was no terrorism or assassination attempts on King Richard. Luckily for him, even though King Richard was hated with a passion amongst the denizens of Ishrion, the Black Seraphs and White Feathers were beloved, especially since they were always around helping the townsfolk. A loud scream interrupted his thoughts. He ran towards the disturbance. People were looking at a 9 ft beast
"BEAST!!" A woman screamed, the same one who screamed just then. The beast was wearing clothes......or trying to. If it was trying to disguise itself, being 9 ft tall wasn't its only flaw. Avery was about 6'3" and he was taller than most in the city, so a 9 ft beast in a town with an average height of about 5'4"-5'6" was relatively colossal in height.

From his armor, his face couldn't be seen in the least, so he lifted it up to get some air
77a3ec301f9976e594845005e436237d.jpg

The leader of the White Feathers, a heavily armored Paladin wielding a Lance and a massive tower shield, pointed at the beast with his lance. "What business do you have in this town beast!" He started to approach the beast, guard up and ready to attack
Avery decided to step in before blood was shed and this mood was ruined. "Hold on, Bright Boy, protocol dictates that we don't attack anyone who doesn't cause harm."
The Leader looked at him. While Avery couldn't see his face, he could feel the hostility coming from the supposed to be Holy armor. "I told you not to call me that. I have a name and this beast doesn't belong here. The protocol applies to human and human-like creatures only."
"While the protocol doesn't, this proclamation does affect all denizens of earth. We're not the only ones who live here and we're not the only ones who want to save it. Maybe this Kewan would want to help." Avery constantly read up on the denizens of earth because he knew he was likely to encounter them on this Grand Campaign. The Dark Knights and the Paladins didn't exactly see eye to eye on everything. The Paladins were all about defending and keeping the status quo. The Dark Knights did the offense work. Avery was all about nature and giving the benefit of the doubt. The Paladins were suspicious by nature, only trusting their faith and other Paladins. "You're not gonna hurt this Kewan unless the Kewan hurts another. In the Black Seraphs, we extend the respect for human life to all aspects of the earth. That's why I was chosen over you to go on the Grand Campaign."

The encounter drew the attention of the entire town, as these things sometimes broke out in fights with the less restraining members

Hananya had only gotten roughly fifty metres into the town when a loud scream suddenly pierced her ears and making her jump. "BEAST!" A woman was screaming, making Hananya turn around and her hood falling to reveal her horns, causing others to jump back in fear. She growled under her breath and darted her blue eyes around anxiously, seeing a reaction rippling throughout the crowd.

Hananya tried to turn around, only to be faced with a guard brandishing a lance in her direction. This hostile move angered the Kewan further so she growled audibly and turned around to face him. She put out her hands, exposing her claws at him, ready to attack if he were to lunge at her.

When he snarled demanding what her business was, she opened her mouth to snap when someone else approached. He seemed eager to diffuse the situation, surprising Hananya. But she did not want to make this one's acquaintance. She had clearly overextended here. Maybe staying in the forest was a better idea.

It was him mentioning that she might want to help that made her the most annoyed and triggered an answer from her. "Help?" She growled, causing a few in the crowd to jump back and murmur amounts themselves in shock, only making Hananya angrier. "What? Yer shocked? A dumb... beast," she spat the last word, hating it so much, "can speak? Seriously..." she grounded her teeth angrily before turning to the two men.

"'Look human! I'm not 'helping' anyone! I came to buy meat. That is it!" She snapped angrily, glaring at a few others that had raised weapons. The Kewan snarled in her throat, becoming more wound up. "Either drop yer fecking weapons, or I'll make ya!" She added, her tail flying about angrily and her hackles rising. She probably wasn't helping her case but what else could she do?

Hearing a sudden scream and all the commotion that followed suit, Eira lept probably a foot into the air (figuratively speaking) and spun around quickly to find a place to hide whilst also keeping an eye on the scene unfolding before her. The only thing she could really hear from the Black Seraph and White Feather was the word "Kewan," which peaked her interest ten-fold. Eira had heard of Kewan's once or twice, but they were supposedly gone, extinct, or at least very few in number, so the fact that she was seeing one right now was a miracle in itself. Although she couldn't just stand here gawking at them as, well, she knew how uncomfortable it was to be stared at, plus the fact that the Kewan didn't appear to be very happy and tension was quickly escalating into potential violence within the cluster of onlookers. The only reason why Eira remained where she was is due to the fact that one of the older men mentioned a protocol and a proclamation. Was that why they were talking to people earlier on? If so, what was this so-called protocol and why were both guilds protecting the castle a part of it? Needless to say, Eira's curiosity was beginning to overtake her sense of fear as she very slowly inched her way through the crowd, still managing to remain out of most people's way --only being here now to figure out what was going on and, well, pickpocket someone as the best place and time to steal was when people were crowded around and were distracted.

"To prevent an assassination attempt, by orders of the Queen," Avery said aloud. "We were told not to interrogate anyone without probable cause. We've stayed true to that word, but I doubt the White Feathers have. Protocol is our Standard Operation Procedure and our High Knight's Code of Honor." As a High Knight, they lived up to a more strict Chivalry Code and Rules of battle, similar to the Geneva Convention. Avery was friendly to the townsfolk, constantly seen helping with even the most mundane tasks

The Paladin laughed. "See? Look at this, Mr. Taboo! The beast is hostile just like I said. Maybe your little 'respect' motto will get people killed. It's come to buy some meat? How about you go back to the forest and hunt! A beast who can't hunt?! How rich!" The Paladin saw that he struck a nerve, and was trying to work the beast up to attack. Thoughtless attacks from an enemy were the best attacks to a defender.

Avery sighed and drew his buzzsaw. At full speed with a full strength throw, it could slash through anything not Titanium. The Kewan was about to get slaughtered. More and more Dark Knights and Paladins stepped up, getting ready to fight by drawing their weaponry. Avery, however, still wanted to use diplomacy to talk things down. The Paladin's increased credibility at the expense of his own didn't even matter to him now. "If you came here peacefully, you're not helping yourself by threatening us. I really don't want to fight you. I assume you didn't come to fight either, yes?" He didn't mention that she was certainly gonna die if she made any sudden movement. This went from yellow to red immediately, from unjustified hostility to immediately justified. That was a crazy power trick that worked too much in Avery's mind. Poking the bear with a stick, so you can justify killing an otherwise completely innocent bear. Paladins were supposed to be the peaceful ones, Dark Knights the bloodlusting ones. It seemed the opposite though. Who said Dark was evil, Avery thought with a sigh. "Calm down and let's talk this out."

Hananya puffed her cheeks angrily as the man continued to taunt her. His words seem to earn a chuckle from quite a few of those surrounded. "I do hunt! Yer fecking hunters are taking all the game! What was I meant to do?" She snapped in response, looking around to see she was being surrounded now. All her instincts at this point were screaming at her to run, but there was no way to escape. So now they screamed at her to fight! But Hananya was not stupid, she knew if she attacked now they would have grounds to kill her. And she wasn't about to give them the satisfaction.

When the other man spoke up, Hananya only found herself becoming more angry "I'm wha-!? I'm threaten-?! They're threatening me!" She pointed at the armed guards all raising their weapons. She knew exactly what they wanted, they wanted to provoke an attack, did they think she was stupid? Or she hadn't been through this before?

She opened her mouth to snap again when the man simply told her to calm down. CALM DOWN?! She couldn't stop herself from breathing roughly, but she knew she couldn't win. She was in their territory after all. "No... I didnt." She sighed deeply and looked right at him. She put her hands down with her palms up. "...Call them off, human. Now." She said in a softer, yet still strained voice, hoping he would understand what she was trying to say. She wasn't saying another word until they did. As she looked around, she spotted a younger looking woman who did not seem interested in what was going on. She wasn't sure what she was doing but at least she wasn't joining in. But she didn't seem like she wanted to be noticed so the Kewan averted her gaze to watch the man again, hoping he was smart enough to listen to her and do what she asked. Kylesar1 Kylesar1 Elm Elm

Ashlynn moved her hand onto the paladins shoulder piece and proceeded to push down. She had gotten there so quick, she just appeared out of thin air to some people. To the observant she literally just walked through the crowd like it was nothing. She pushed down hard enough that it should start to imbalance him soon.

She gave no expression as she spoke. "put your weapon down... I know how to kill you without even denting your armor. I can make it suffering with no release of pain and misery until you take your last breath. You can't do anything to me as well, as I am under your kings protection. Any harm done to me by you will be seen as treachery, as I am one of the few who can actually sense these sigils."
She continued to look forward at the 'beast' to show Ashlynn was protecting her. "Now, paladin... If you do not cease antagonizing this fine creature, I will start counting down. If I reach zero, you will be writhing on the ground in pain with no medical expert being able to help you. It will take you days to die from the poisoning... And I do promise, every last second will be more painful than the last... "

With that, Ashlynn stopped pressing down on his armor and put her hands on her axe's, ready to block any incoming attacks he may bring her way.

This entire situation was confusing and rather tiring despite not even being a part of the ongoing "conversation," if one could even call it that. Eira was more or less shocked with the Black Serpents words than anything else, quickly filing that away into the back of her mind as her thoughts were soon consumed by her returning sense of hunger. Glancing around, Eira began to move quietly yet swiftly through the crowd, appearing as normal as a homeless girl could be in this situation, but as she passed by a few people, she would take one to two coins swiftly out from their pockets until she knew she had enough to one loaf of bread, It didn't have to be fresh as it just had to be edible. The instant she got enough money, Eira was about to leave when another person joined the fray -it being a girl this time who was actually threatening the paladin. Well, that's not something you see every day, Eira thought to herself looking on for a while longer until feeling she had out welcomed her stay. Needless to say, the girl disappeared from the crowd as silently as she entered, but not before she took a glance back at the Kewan and meeting her gaze for a brief moment. Once she was out of the crowd, Eira made her way over to an empty market stand, put the coins on the table, and took an old stale piece of bread that was sitting there for cheap -wrapping her arms around it tightly and darting away towards someplace quieter.

Unfortunately due to not having much strength and not having eaten in who knows how long, Eira didn't have much strength to continue running for long and eventually stopped under a tree, sitting down and curling up in the shade by one of the roots and ripping off a small piece of the stale bread. It was cold and almost as hard as a rock, but it was food nonetheless, so she wasn't complaining too much. A part of her wished she was back on the dirt road she traveled on frequently, wishing to see more monsters and other creatures to learn magic from -not like she could use it anytime soon. A small frown appeared on her face at the thought. While she did have enough mana to last her one more spell (after having used quite a bit of mana to defend herself on her travels), she still felt empty. Eira adored magic as it was truly one of the most beautiful things she had ever laid her eyes on, so the fact that it was so limited to use and very rarely seen made her quite unhappy, but there wasn't much she could do about it now other than brood over it as she knawed on a stale loaf of white bread.

"Hell no. You killing me will have no choice but to have the Black Seraphs kill you, which is justified under our SOP. The paladins can't harm you, but the Seraphs can. Checks and Balances dear. We are brothers in arms." the man said as he kept stepping forward. Despite their rivalry, he was speaking the truth and Ashlynn knew it. As inclined as Avery was to agree with Ashlynn, he had to keep order and death threats in a place like this was a big no no. That meant both him and Ashlynn. Avery didn't like working alongside the Paladins, not with that leader, but he had no choice but to roll with the punches. Brothers in arms did not mean using that status to do bullshit and drag him in under order of law

Avery had to do it unfortunately. Establish a form of order by playing the bad guy. With a sigh, he addressed Ashlynn and the Paladin leader. "I call the shots in this Grand Campaign. You know very well he's speaking the truth, Ashlynn. He can't touch you, but the Seraphs can. Everyone in this city is under Rules and Regulation, and I run this right now by order of the King. No one hurts or kills any goddamn one on my watch. That goes for you Paladins as well." Time to enforce the law. He drew his blade now and his buzzsaw started spinning and making the harsh sound of a power saw. Not a single person or creature has ever taken a hit from this and lived. "GRIDLOCK! EVERYONE DROP THEIR WEAPONS NOW!! DO IT OR YOU'RE FUCKING UNDER ARREST!!"

The Black Seraphs showed up everywhere, blades drawn, archers and crossbows on the rooftops. This stealth tactics was standard of the Black Seraphs. Dark Knights, Assassins, Spies, Snipers, Black Mages, they all joined in the Black Seraphs. On the surface, it was just the Dark Nights, but the others were undercover everywhere and designed to be ready at any moment. The Black Seraphs were the secret service of the King's Guard. It was unknown exactly how many members of the Black Seraphs there were, but there were lots right now, wearing the uniform scoring their Fallen Wings, the Black Seraph insignia

In about 10 seconds, Ashlynn, the Kewan, the Paladins, the townspeople, EVERYONE was being pointed at from every direction by a blade or an archer. People were dropping anything that could be used as a weapon down on the ground under a watchful eye. Avery hated doing this. It meant the mood couldn't be recovered and that bloodshed was imminent. This was to preserve life at any cost. "NO ONE MOVES!! NOT EVEN YOU ASHLYNN." Gridlock was just that. Lock you in place. You move, you die. This meant he was all business

He stepped to the middle of the crowd, where the Paladin leader had his hands raised as well and the Kewan was in the dead center. Even the Paladins knew they had no shot in resisting the Gridlock maneuver and living.

"EVERYONE LISTEN UP!!"
His voice boomed loud over the silent crowd. Silent by death hanging over all their heads. Fear was never a good thing to preach over, but he needed to get this situation in check. "No one threatens anyone but me. This Kewan is welcome here under the order and protection of the Black Seraphs. Anyone that feels otherwise, step out now."

What a mess I've stumbled upon. The young priest Lawrence felt his lips purse as the scene around him grew more and more intense. Wakefield was miles from home, and far and away the largest city the poorly traveled man had ever seen, and thus he came expecting noise, came expecting trouble, prepared to bear it all in stride to represent his slowly recovering city and his precious church. He was never prepared for a Kewan to exploded onto the scene, causing the military minded Feathers and Seraphs to draw arms. The very sun would soon be blotted out by arrows, and the air would be filled with the sound of clashing metal and the scent of warm blood. Avery, the man in the black armor who was clearly the superior officer, knew this, surely. Did he honestly believe that a threat of force and some chest pounding would be the way to get the situation under control? Either the furious Kewan or the haughty paladins would make a move, and waves of violence would soon follow.

Back when it was just shouts and snarl, Lawrence had thought the sight would be a mere curiosity, like a stage show or a drunken brawl. This, he decided, was a powder keg. One best diffused before the situation got further out of hand, before another strange rogue drew a blade or bolt of magic, precious as it was, rained from the sky. The voice of his uncle rang in his ears, telling him to flee, telling him that it didn't involve him. It took a few short seconds for him to decide to disobey that entirely. After all, from his position in the thick of the crowd, he couldn't rightly turn and run anyway, could he?

"Wait, wait, wait!" Lawrence shouted, slowly lifting his arms, intending to wave his arms to catch the attention of Avery and his Paladin comrade, but with bowman poised and willing to fire, he thought better of it. "There you are, my friend! I can't leave you alone for even a second, can I?" He chuckled, nervously. He was surely being watched now, but he kept his eyes on the Kewan as he spoke, then turned his gaze, slowly, to the paladin. "I am Father Lawrence Primrose, of the Church of Divine Light in Heaven's Heart. This woman is a friend of mine, and despite the gravity of the situation, I'm hoping you can find it in your heart to forgive her any transgressions. I'm certain that she's willing to stand down if you're willing to apologize, yes?" Staring pleadingly at the Kewan woman again now, urging her on by darting his eyes. Surely a little religious clout could defuse the tension, but only if she was willing to play along.

When the Gridlock was put up, Eira found herself being corralled back into the group with the masses by other Black Serpants, suspecting that they wanted everyone nearby in a visible location with everyone else. Eira was still holding onto her recently purchased loaf of bread, nibbling on it nervously as she was also known to be a stress eater, and if this wasn't a stressful situation then who knew what was?

Now that the seemingly mute girl was back in the crowd with tensions rising far past boiling points, Eira took notice upon the priest, watching him with a close eye, mainly out of curiosity and trying to find out what place he had in this whole confrontation. From the looks of things, Eira could assume he was trying to diffuse the situation, but how could one do so when the situation itself was already far out of hand? Now it just depended on how the Kewan would react; turning her gaze onto the "beast" and silently hoping that they didn't aggravate the tension further even though she knew full well that it wasn't their fault to begin with.

Hananya was surprised when another woman appeared, trying to also get the paladins to lower their weapons... to no avail. Of course. Despite letting out a groan of frustration, Han did not say anything else. What the hell was even going on anymore!? She was just hungry and wanted some meat, that was it! Where did all these stupid humans come from? She gave the woman a side glance, silently saying "thanks for trying". Hananya knew that, to them she was nothing more than a brainless barbarian but she knew when others actually cared.

Just as she thought this, the sound of a mass movement got her attention. She glanced around, seeing that practically everyone on the street were now surrounded with weapons. Many people shrunk and seemed terrified. At least they now knew what it bloody felt like! She wasn't going to say it though. And the man said how she was now welcomed here? She wanted to groan but knew this would result in an arrow to the jugular so suppressed it.

Shortly after this announcement, another shout came to her attention as a young man in a white robe suddenly appeared, talking as if he knew the Kewan personally. She blinked for a few seconds before he fully introduced himself as Lawrence Primrose; a religious man. Hananya was not sure how to react to this at first but, catching on almost instantly, she forced a closed-mouth smile to appear on her face, only her bottom fangs showing.

"Oh, yes!" She still didn't move, knowing she'd still get shot by some rogue, there was always one. "I'm sorry, Lawrence I must have wandered off without knowing it." She said, still nervous at the sheer amount of people here. But she could see the priest was trying to help. And at least he had the fecking decency to call her a "woman" rather than just "beast" or "Kewan". She just hoped they wouldn't call their bluff.

Ashlynn picked her axe's up out of their holsters and held them out to Avery, making sure he can see her drop them to the ground. "Of coursd sir..." she said a bit begrudgingly. Although she hated the paladins, she had respect for the Black Seraph, especially Avery. She owed it to him to listen at least some of the time.
With a sigh she unattached her crossbow and placed it on the floor. "I will not be detaching my potions and you know why." She said to Avery. Some of the potions on her belt, especially her mana vial, were to keep her alive in the city. To keep his trust however, she put her hands up a little to the side to make it clear she had no intention of moving them to her belt.

Ashlynn stood down as well. She was a fireball, but knew when things needed to be done. Mad respect for her. He turned to the Paladin leader. "You will stand down, you and all the other Paladins, or this will be reported to the King at best and we'll use force at worst. You see how many of Us there are. Don't make me do this."

With a sigh, the Paladin leader gave in and dropped his Lance and shield. "Very well, Brother. We will stand down." Brother meant brothers in arms.

"Now that you see how many of us there are and you committed this act of insubordination, all of you are relieved from duty for today. We don't need you all here. Sheath yourselves and enjoy the festival. What's left of the mood anyways...... SHEATH BLADES!"

Just like that, the situation was diffused and those with the Fallen Wings on sheathed their blades and walked off. Complete silence except for the sheathing of blades. The people started retrieving their stuff. The Paladins, blades dragging in the dirt, all trudged off to lick their wounded pride. Avery looked over to Ashlynn and the Kewan, having not heard a thing about whatever the Kewan was trying to pull with the priest, and addressed them. "Sorry Ashlynn. The Feathers have been most bitter as of late about the Seraphs being chosen. I agreed with you, but all hell would've broken loose if you attacked, so I had to stop you. Thank you for showing restraint. I know your worth to humanity." he bowed in respect. Even if she wasn't the one who'd be sensing the sigils, she was a good person.
"As for you Kewan, my deepest apologies for this most racist and shameful moments of human interaction. I am Sir Avery Valencia. You have the welcome and protection of the Black Seraphs, whatever that means to you." He pulled out a bag of gold. "Your meat is on the house."

Ashlynn re-equipped herself. "I could sense his fear, Avery." she said with a laugh. "He knew I wasn't bluffing. Had you not been here he would be in the infirmary. " she said with a smile as she walked up to him and the Kewan. "By the way, you wanted that scale skin potion right? Or was that another Seraph?" Ashlynn had become the Seraphs potion dealer since they talked the king out of torturing her while she was imprisoned. She then turned to the Kewan. "My name is Ashlynn. I am a Corian." She said as her cat ears twitched a bit.

Now that the situation was diffusing, Eira let out a soft sigh of relief. Thank God the Kewan played it off, otherwise it felt like there would have been a war on their hands -quite literally as well. As Eira relaxed, the bits of frost and ice crystals that had been building up under her stopped growing soon after she realized what was happening. Every time she was under enough stress or one emotion ran rampant, her magic would start forming in the strangest of ways; almost as if the magic itself had a mind of its own sometimes. Stepping back, Eira frowned down at the patch of frozen ground, unable to do much about it and suddenly growing lightheaded from the extra unconscious drain of her mana. She was practically running on fumes, rubbing her eyes forcefully to aid in keeping them open, and walking away from the group -hoping to find a small place to rest- with small bits of frost still appearing wherever she walked --now being stressed for a completely different reason in regards to herself.

Maybe the display of completely foolish chivalry was all for not. After all, it appeared that the little skirmish was quickly defusing, and likely would've done so regardless of Lawrence's intervention or not. Still, the tight-laced grin of mischievous camaraderie that the woman who didn't need his help made him think that at the very least, his display had helped her calm down, helped her see that there was a way out of this situation that didn't involve bloodshed.

Walking forward into the inner circle with a sheepish grin on his face towards the intimidating group, the Kewan, the Corian, and the Seraph, he suddenly felt extremely out of place. Still, he was in the thick of it now, and acting as an ambassador for his own church. Standing down just didn't seem in the cards.

Clearing his throat nervously, he began speaking, his voice soft and sincere despite his nerves. "Sorry for making even more of a mess of that. It seems that my voice wasn't needed at all. Still, I'm glad everything ended on a positive note."

"Aye. That was me. Here's your pay." He grabbed the potion. It was a fantastic potion for durability, and he used plenty of them nowadays since he couldn't do the same thing with his Dark Magic. Ashlynn was top notch, with no side effects on her potions. He gave her a pretty little penny for it.
A newcomer. Father Lawrence from the Church. He removed his helmet to speak to him. "Hello Father Lawrence. I just had to remind the Paladins of their place under the Grand Campaign. Nothing unusual that a public display of legal and military authority can't solve if diplomacy doesn't work." Avery shrugged. "I just wish I didn't have to go that far. Gridlock is a last resort."

Trumpets started sounding. The sun was high up. It was 11:00 already. Time must fly when you're preventing huge bloodshed. He looked ahead. "ALL BLACK SERAPHS, KNIGHTS, KING'S GUARD, ANYONE SETTING OUT ON THE GRAND CAMPAIGN, AND ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SET OUT, THE KING REQUESTS YOUR PRESENCE AT THIS TIME. CLEAR THE WAY AND GATHER UP ON ME!!!" Recruiting. That's why the Seraphs were out socializing. To see if any recruits wanted to come along. Variety on the battlefield made all the difference. Avery's choice, so they'd be under Avery's command. The pay was incredible

Eira froze -once again, figure of speech (but get it cause ice and ha)- and turned to look back Avery at his announcement. Grand Campaign? Even though she didn't know what it was, the thought of just venturing out of this place sounded like as good of a deal to her as any. Needless to say, Eira turned back around and walked over towards Avery, glancing around at others who chose to go as well and hoping that no one gave her dirty looks. After all, why would most people want a homeless girl that looked more fragile than anything out on a potentially dangerous journey with them? Little did people know though of her being A Blue mage, learning magic from monsters and possessing quite a bit of knowledge from her travels, so in that regard, she may be able to redeem herself.

"What is this Grand Campaign and is it possible for me to come along?" She asked, it taking her nearly two minutes to at least find her voice again, it sounding soft and a little raspy from the lack of usage, but Eira needed to know what she was getting herself into and if, at any time, she could back out.

Ashlynn looked down to the young girl who seemed homeless. She was asking about the Grand Campaign, but her voice seemed raspy and soft. "Hold on, little one." she said as she looked to her belt and found a blueish green potion from her belt and held it out to her. "This should help your throat." Ashlynn kneeled down so she was face level with the little girl. "It should also help with that little mana problem you are having." she whispered to her with a small grin.

The potion was a Soothing Potion. It was used to sooth pain and calm people down. She had added a small drop of her blood (which is blue) to have a mana sooth effect as well. (does not replenish mana.)

She stood back up, not expecting any payment for the vial. "I will allow Avery to explain the Grand Campaign." she then turned to Avery. "I must be going. The king is going to want me to be there. I will see you soon." and with that, she left the group for the king.
