Dynus made his way through the crowd. He could see people staring at him and saying something about him, but he couldn’t understand what they said. No, that wasn’t completely true. He could catch bits and pieces, a familiar sound or word, but not enough to piece together whole sentences. It grated on his nerves. The language itself didn’t sound bad, but it was so close and yet so far from Shava that it annoyed him.
His annoyance increased as a small child ran into him. He snarled at them, yet they didn’t seemed frightened by him. In fact, they pointed at him, said something, and then laughed before they ran off. Had he truly been locked away long enough that even small children no longer feared him? Well, that would change, as soon as he understood the state of the world he woke up in and for that, he needed information.
Dynus pulled his hood over his head and turned down an alleyway. No one cared if anyone from these back streets went missing. He made his way to where a small fire was built and sat by it. Someone would come seeking its warmth soon enough. He heard someone approach and put on his best old man act, coughing as he spoke. <Come warm yourself by the fire, friend. There’s plenty of room.> He gestured to the space next to him. Even if they didn’t understand his words. They’d understand the sentiment.
