Alright, this is not an open RP, at least not yet. It is more of a place to save it in case something were to ever happen to the original. This is a RP I started with some IRL friends and it is their first ever. Although the writing structure is... Sketchy, it is getting better over time. This is simply a post giving the plot and characters and a little teaser to see if anyone would be interested in the world or the characters. Also, if we were to add people to the RP or make it public, the characters would take control of the ones already in the story (Though there could always be some exceptions.). Mostly because we are pretty far into the story (As far as a RP goes) and we are more likely to keep it going than other users, I think we all know how fast a RP can die out. Regardless, take a look at the lore, characters and the story so far and give suggestions or if you'd be interested in a part. Depending on the reception, I might break away and do one with them, one on RPnation. Enjoy!
Basic Plot:
A group of people meet after being captured and thrown into an arena. After fighting and breaking out together, they return to a guild to plan their next move. Each character has their life-long quests but things keep getting in the way. Basically random quests and bad guys.
Xack's quest is to find the Chorus (A divine Race that uses people as vessels till they are old enough to exist independently.) that his brother sold into slavery and get revenge.
Nak's quest is to kill a basilisk, on of the fiercest creatures in all of Midrift, because he was exiled. If he fails to do so, his demon powers will run out and he will no longer be able to go home to the underworld.
Jed's quest is to bring triumph to the horde kingdom (Yes, based off of the WoW horde.) and eventually assume the roll of king.
Some Lore (Most The Lore Is Already In The Rp, If you Have Spare Time To Read):
A world built in flat layers starting with Hell at the bottom, then The Underworld, Midrift, Olympia, and finally The Heavens. Most of the story is found on Midrift, modeled after a earth-like terrain with cold in the north and desert in the south. Many kingdoms and races dot the land of Midrift, with some places still being undiscovered. It's set in a medieval times period with small amounts of steampunk and magic is commonly used.
Devils rule Hell
Angels rule The Heavens
Demons rule The Underworld, and over other dark races
Races from elf to dwarf to lizard (Almost anything fantasy)
Archs:
We just did a small arena arch
We want to have a war eventually

23). Nak
“Whoa, that guy Xack is really hoppin all over theplace.” Puk exclaimed from her master’s shoulder. She studied his moves so she could relay his fighting style to Nak when he wasn't busy. It was something she always tried to do, knowing he was an amazing strategist, his deadliest weapon and greatest resource information. She sat with her claws dug into Nak’s jacket while he fought more wraiths. “Extremely agile, excels in close range hand to hand combat…”
“I appreciate you being the eyes in the back of my head but could you make sure to actually watch behind me?” The demon was dodging elongated claws and slicing with his dagger. The enemy attacks were easy to predict if you knew what to look for. One might see the fight with a wild animal with nothing more to lose to be an unpredictable battle, but ones instincts relatively tend to make them react the same way every time. Slowly, methodically, Nak sliced his way through two more monsters.
“Oh hush, I know.” The cat mewed without looking away from Xack’s battle. “Holy shit, that’s two…. Oh, he can throw knives, there goes the third. Three wraiths in…” She trailed off as she saw the loon start running towards them. “NAK, YOU BETTER GET READY…” but instead of an attack, the boy jumped, landing square on Nak’s shoulders, feet landing right where Puk had been sitting. She quickly made her way in front of Nak with a sorry… look before sarcastically saying “Yeah, I'm with you now, that guy almost killed me.”
Nak paid her no attention, too furious with the man standing on his shoulders. 'Is this really fucking necessary…’ He thought, balancing so they wouldn't topple over. Suddenly, he felt a hand ruffle his hair.
“I think he is fine.” The white haired boy said as if Nak was a child that had fallen and gotten cut. The demon’s red eyes glared at Xack furiously as he continued with, “Don't forget to keep an eye out for Jed.” After scanning the crowd once more, the boy jumped off Nak's shoulders and back into battle. “And try to keep an arrow!” Xack called out as his voice trailed off as he flipped to face new enemies.
“IF A WRAITH DOESN'T KILL HIM,” Nak took a deep breath calming down, “I'll make sure to do so. He really gets on my nerves.”
“Now isn't the time to feud, attacks incoming.” Puk returned to her master's shoulder. The wraiths had regrouped, three coming after Nak from behind. “Come on, your a Demon, you can let that jumpy loon show you up.” Nak raised his hand, “Hey, I'm just doing my job, don't thum--” but before she could finish her sentence, the demon petted her.
“I know, and I'm grateful. Thanks!” The cat purred, rarely getting affection from the cold demon. “Hold on!” He chuckled maniacally, jumping straight up and flipping in the air dodging the trio of elongated claws. “Fuck the slow and methodical. I can give these damned humans a show too.” The demon cast nimble before jumping, a spell used to help thieves become lighter, in turn causing them to jump higher and be light on their feet. Getting a eight foot vertical, he cast liquify making the ground a sticky liquid below him. The monsters started slipping, one falling face first in the puddle of blood, clay and grass. Picking the one closest to the ground, he landed feet first squarely on the monster's now caved in skull, sending it deeper into the molten dirt. Pushing off it's head, he cancelled the spell, making the ground hard again and the wraith attempting to wriggle his way out. Before it could, he decapitated it clean through. The body went limp, the ground still moving. It wasn't dead but it wasn't going to be able to attack anymore.
“Yes!” Puk praised. 'Not as fast or as flashy as that other guy, but for someone with no offensive magic it's clever. That's my master.’ She thought smuggly. That laugh could only mean one thing, time to get real. Nak was a cautious man. While appearing to just be a mere child, he was 156 years old and wiser than most would think. After the attempt to cast a spell in the cell with his cuffs on, there seemed to be a time limit curse on when he use his powers again. That's why he had been reserved, on top of not being completely healed from his wounds, the demon didn't want to risk using magic as unstable as it is, especially magic that isn't innate in one's nature.
For example, naturally demons are born with the power to control dark magic. With such an affinity to magic, a race like demons are able to learn other types of magic, how much depending on how gifted the individual is. Not being able to use his demon powers, Nak learned simple trickery spells with a make up close to transformation and dark magic from spriggans and thieves altering the spells depending on the situation. ‘Predictably is deadly…’ Puk thought back to an old lesson her master taught her. He was a clever little demon.
He dodged the other monsters attacks, putting 50 feet between them and him. Puk scanned the battlefield just in time to see the loon lower his arms and get sent flying across the arena. “Nak, that guy is down. He just took a nasty blow.” Xack lay still for about five seconds before managing to pull himself up slowly. “Nak, he isn't looking so good. It sounded like he had a man on the outside and we don't know the plan. We should keep him alive don't you think?” Puk knew he would be persuaded by logic more than emotional, especially since the guy pissed him off. The demon grunted, focusing on dodging instead of attacking while Puk spoke. “Not to mention whether you want to admit it or not, he did save us and he is a brilliant fighter.” Nak rolled his eyes as he ducked an elongated arm, quickly bringing the dagger up to slice it off. The monster cried and backed up. “And you can kill him later if you want, once we are out.”
Nak glanced over at the white haired loon. “He has some form of divine magic in his body. That could make things risky.” The man stood his ground, though Nak could see the breathing was getting harder and he was in pain. Maybe a broken rib or something. Puk was silent, letting her master think. Dodging another attack, he pushed off the ground again, this time landing on the center cage. There were four wraiths left, one sprinting towards Xack, one fighting with the elf on the opposite side of the battlefield, and two that were contemplating whether to chase Nak or go for Xack. Watching the monsters choose Xack, the demon rolled his eyes. “Fine, fuck it. Let's do it.” He recast nimble knowing it'd wear off soon enough while he felt his companion purr on his shoulder. He looked down at her questioningly.
“It's not like that, you know I only have one true love. He is just lively is all, a refreshment to your constant cold and dull demeanor.” The cat laughed as Nak jumped off the cage, soaring across the arena to Xack. Mid-air Nak thumped her again, turning the jump into a flip and putting his left hand around his right
wrist and conjuring a spell in the palm of his right. Casting smokescreen, he blasted the arena with black mist. Casting the spell muffle on his feet, he used the magical barrier to his advantage by surrounding his feet in magic and using the disruption of energy between the magic barrier and his feet to propel him down to Xack.
Nak had guessed there was some kind of barrier after meeting that caliber of mage, the tricky part figuring out where it was. Most barriers like this dispel the magic sent it's way, but the energy created has to go somewhere. It is propel out like and explosion and Nak used that to his advantage.
Picking up Xack, he darted through the mist and back to the cage in the center of the arena. Smokescreen had about fifteen seconds left, he brushed off the man before him and said “You better get me out of here.” The demon turned to Puk, “Quick, asses his condition and heal as much as you can.” The white hair companion pointed up at the stands, towards the nobles section to see a giant green orc being levitated by a not so friendly looking mage. Nak looked around the battlefield the bow he had dropped earlier. Seeing it, he said “Ok, what do I do with the arrow?”
“Get close and look for a bag of impact explosive powder, Jed should've placed it somewhere we could shoot it. I hope….” His explanation ended with a cough from injuries.
“Alright, I'm going to cast smokescreen again, hopefully that'll buy time to be hidden from the monsters and by the time I blow the wall, you'll be healed.” The demon cast Night Vision on the two of them, “In case the mist isn't all gone or the monsters end up smelling you.” He pointed at Xack with cold red eyes, “This doesn't mean we are the best of friends, you helped me and now I'm helping you.” The demon repositioned his left hand around his right wrist and started conjuring the spell in his right palm. “Don't let anything happen to Puk either, or I'll
kill you.” And with that, the black mist covered the arena once more. Nak darted towards where his bow was, finding it in the thickness. Casting nimble once more, he ran towards the arena wall where Xack had pointed.
“He isn't lying, but don't worry. I can handle myself just fine.” The kitty purred while healing Xack. “He isn't that bad a guy once you get to know him. You just so happen to push every one of his buttons.” She chuckled.
Jumping one last time over the clouds of black surrounding the arena, he notched an arrow. He saw the orc named Jed, being used like a doll by the mysterious mage. Below him, on the handrail was a brown cloth bag. Not seeing anything else of significance, he waited till he started falling back down for the moment he was parallel with the nobles box. Letting go of the arrow, he watched as it zoomed towards the brown bag before being swallowed up by the black mist of his spell. 'This better work…’ He thought to himself.
