TI89 Calculator

I own a TI89 calculator (...waiting for applauses...) does anyone know if you can get a program for it that will allow you to store your characters on it? I know such programs exists for Earthdawn (an old rpg system), but I haven't been able to find one for Exalted.

I do not know if you can GET one, but in my experience it would be incredibly easy to MAKE on one, requiring very little in terms of programming capability.

And still I come to this board... (I have litteraly NO skills when it comes to programming my TI - I just sit there and stare at it, not even the fecking manual lent me any real help with this situation...)

Thanks anyway.

Let me snag the manual for mine when I get home and see what I can whip up. Shouldn't be terribly difficult. Don't hold me to anything, though, the majority of the programming I've done was on the TI-85, which has a very different reaction to some commands.

It certainly does. I mastered the TI-83+, but DAMN the 89'er is different.

Aaaw.  Don't feel bad.  If it's of any consolation, I have absolutely no fucking clue what a TI-89 calculator is. :D

Does the 98 one use the same programming languish as the Ti83? If so it should be possible though if would involve a lot of typing :P Basic isn't difficult but it is lengthy...

the calculator should have more memory capicity than the Ti83 else it wouldn't really be any good because you wouldn't be able to make an extensive database..

Nah. Uses same language as the TI-92 (in fact, the 89 is just a 92 with a different look, sans the accelerated graphics chip in the 92 - the only functional difference is that 3d rendering takes longer on the 89)

Assuming the 83 and 85 are comparable in language you might run into some problems porting from 89 to 83. I have an 85 and a 92, and there are a lot of differences in their BASIC. Unfortunately I haven't programmed either of them since 1998 or so, so I'm afraid I won't be much help.

Out of curiousity why do you want it to store characters?  Do you use it to roll for you?  I have seen dice programs back in the day but i programmed for a TI-82, I feel old.

I say get money up for a PDA then you can store PDFs of your characters.

I had thought of that, but since I have a TI-89 and not a PDA, I would just check the market for Exalted Character Creation programs (although, none have surfaced...)
