Expanded Background:
Born into a small druidic clan of dwarves that had taken to the wilderness after discovering a deeper love for nature than that of precious metals. His family among a few how left civilization behind and taken to the hilly grasslands seeking a more balanced life. Born to father Thesroug and mother Eridtre Woadborne he lived a simple life with his sister Melina Woadborne. His father was an accomplished mason and sculptor and his mother a member of the druids.
Spending his early life under his mother's tutelage learning the druidic rites and adopting her beliefs in Silvanus, the forest father. Thulron was able to learn much from her before she was tragically taken from him while training with his younger sister. Thulron's connection to the primal beast inside has driven him down the path he's chosen in life. Even as a young dwarven child when training with his mother he had such affinity for the fauna. Rather spending his free time with the animals he had befriended rather than with the other children. He spent the better portion of his young adult life learning to be a hunter when he wasn't training with her.
This changed the day that he was out hunting with fellow dwarves and came across the kill from a young wyvern. In fear of leaving such a beast to roam so close to the village, they chose to track and kill it having no time to return and warn others. The group of young hunters attempted to track the wyvern through the wilds but were startled to find that it had been hunting them all along. In the following battle Eridtre, Thulron's mother, died protecting his sister who had secretly been following her brother. She had snuck away and his mother had been following her when the wyvern attacked the lone dwarves instead of the hunting party it had been stalking. It was during the battle as well that Thulron became known as a folk hero by shapeshifting into a brown bear in the wake of his mother's death. Quickly ending the now weakened wyvern and protecting what was left of his fellow dwarves but more importantly his sister.
After her death, Thulron became his sister's mentor and trained her to the best of his ability in the druidic rites and the teachings of Silvanus as his mother had done for him. He has never truly forgiven his sister for this but his love for her and sense of honor would never allow him to burden her with such knowledge. Knowing that Melina continues to openly blame herself for it. Instead, choosing to teach her that careful consideration of one's actions should be utmost as they can never be undone.
Many years passed again and Thulron spent his time looking after his sister and father who was continually fading in age. Living off the land by hunting and brewing his occasional ale. Trading pelts and the leftover sculptings of his father and the few that his sister would part with as well as small batches of his ale. Thesroug would eventually pass just months before his sister's fiftieth birthday and as the days drew on he could tell that Melina was dying inside. She was to become a full-fledged adult and now both of our parents were no longer with us. She put up a brave and occasionally stoic face when they were together but he knew it to be a lie. Thulron growing distressed with the uneasiness she was feeling asked her what he could do for her birthday this year. He told her that it could be anything in the world. She told him that she wanted to go on an adventure, like from one of her books, to be a hero like her brother once was for her village.
Thulron was at first angered by the thought of leaving behind everything they had, everything his family and the clan had worked to build after leaving to form the village. This soon faded though as he realized that it was not to abandon everything they had built but to escape everything that reminded her of it. Thulron agreed and the two of them left but days later seeking her adventure eventually arriving in the town of Daggerford. Even as they spend their days seeking to help others in the name of being heroic, he disapproves of the decision and actively tries to steer her back to the simple life they had before.

In-character Story Moment:
The sun was still high in the sky as he trekked through the woodlands following behind his friend Melknor. He silently swatted away the insect buzzing in his face; his eyes darting amongst the thick brush and vegetation. The surrounding greenery only broke by the dark brown trunks of the mighty oaks. The last animal track they had seen was miles back but Stonard, the elder leading, had dragged them deeper; obviously stalking something but unsure what it was.
As the small group picked their way through the foliage; the silence was broken by the resounding roar of something far more ferocious than the deer he had thought they would be bringing home that night. Stonard quickly motioned for everyone to stop and Thulron crouched low in the brush. The pungent scent of the woodland floor creeping into his nostrils; he actively looked around for the source of the sound. Almost without warning Stonard shouted to move and charged forward chasing after it.
Thulron's heart pounded in his ears as he struggled to swiftly follow with the rest in the thick underbrush. His stubby legs feeling numb as he ran as hard as his lungs would allow. The group burst from the treeline into a small clearing; Thulron caught glimpse of what they had been chasing finally. In the fading light of the sky was the outline of a young wyvern. It's scaley form whipped out of sight over the top of the trees in another dreadful cry. Laying there in the clearing was a number of rent carcasses ranging from wolves to deer. It was apparent that the creature was no longer hunter for mere survival.
Stonard gathered the group together and a heated debate followed between the few of us that were with him. Thulron sided with Stonard in wanting to hunt the creature down for fear of what it might do to the village if left unchecked in the area. Others understandably wanted to return to gather more of the clan to hunt the beast down; knowing it was going to be a serious challenge. The hunters argued for the better part of the next hour before the elder's silenced us; choosing in favor of hunting it down now.
As the evening waned on into dusk they had accomplished nothing, having been unable to even catch the slightest trace of the creature since stumbling onto it in the clearing. Occasionally disgruntled muttering from his fellow hunters would cause one of the leaders to sharply cut them off with a glance forcing the group to slow in reaction. The dreadful crawl through the thickets was becoming almost unbearable; when a shriek was heard in the now darkened woods. Everyone instinctively stood from their crouched stances and burst into a full sprint towards the sound.
It had been that of a young dwarven female.
The scene unfolded rapidly as the hunters entered the clearing to see a young Melina cowering in the dirt; the wyvern encroaching on her. Even as quickly as everyone leaped from the brush into the clearing firing arrows and swinging their weapons; no one was as fast as Eridtre who appeared from behind Melina screaming, "No! You will not touch my child!" The young Melina vanishing from sight as Eridtre grasped her totemic focus from her belt and waved her hand slightly.
The creature would unleash another resounding roar as it's prey was seemingly stolen out from under its nose. The creature dived forward towards Thulron's mother in a rage. Soon the creature would be embroiled in combat with the dwarves as his mother wielded a flaming sword dancing about the wyvern. Thulron had never seen her so alive as she gracefully moved along the ground with such confidence in every step, strike and spell flung.
The next few moments were but a haze though to Thulron as the wyvern surprised everyone. Tearing into two more of his fellow hunters with its claws the beast roared in triumph; turning its attention to Thulron's mother. The wyvern whipped about hurtling the dwarven carcasses to the ground. Eridtre was caught off guard as a swift strike from the tail of the creature sent her tumbling to the ground. In a flash, the wyvern had dropped on top of her; pinning her frail frame beneath its clawed foot and ripping into her now that she was in its grasp.
A feeling, unlike anything he had ever felt before boiled deep from within his soul. It welled up from inside him and overcame his sense with such a primal rage. Such intense feeling flowed through his mind fogging over any thought he had but one. He had to kill that creature. His body groaned and began to shift as he focused intently on the only driving thought of his mother being devoured by this beast. His form morphed and molded growing in size slightly as he transformed from his dwarven self.
Within an instant Thulron was soaring through the air as he began shapeshifting into a raging brown bear; letting out a thunderous roar of his own as he engaged the wyvern. Tackling the beast to the side the two of them exchanged blow after blow crashing through the woods. The wyvern fearing for its life began to try and escape but Thulron wouldn't give ground. He grappled the creature to the ground pinning it under his now massive weight. In a final ancestral cry, Thulron tore the creature's head from its body and triumphantly held it within his clawed hands above his head.
The adrenaline was swiftly flowing through his body as he could now only hear the sound of his heart pounding in his head. The foggy sensation of sheer power that had been clouding his mind and coursing through his veins faded as his form began to revert back to that of a dwarf. Standing over the decapitated form of the young wyvern hoisting it's massive head over his he shouted in both triumph and anguish before tossing the gushing head to the side and rushing to his dying mother.
Holding his mother's sundered body in his arms she held him close. Sputtering her final words to him before fading. "Protect her..."

OOC Content:
This character is intertwined with his sister's profile: Melina Woadborne
Also, the story and background is based on the fact at level two he will become a Circle of the Moon druid with access to wild shape. The reason he becomes the folk hero is that of being able to not only wild shape but into a brown bear in the moment of passion. Even though he has never been able to wild shape since or before that. Took a liberty with the story to fit the background and his future progression. If it needs to be changed it isn't much work to do so.
