Thousand Correct Actions

Man, I'm always one book behind, it seems. They sure do seem to be coming in fast this year.

I have it and I am about to start my read through. There is already a hullabaloo over at WW because the highest possible DV is now provided by an Integrity charm. Oh yeah, there are a smattering of Solar/Abyssal charms in there.

The fluff is fantastic, and the crunch is pretty darn good too. The hullabaloo is mostly unjustified, imo, but I'll leave that to your own judgements. Highly recommended if DBs are in any way involved in your games.

It's quite solid. I've read it through and it's not a bad read. It includes all the Terrestrial Errata, and a swath of new charms, for those most interested in crunch. If you're running a game with Terrestrial military officers in particular, it's a really handy book. It has a number of useful Solar and Abyssal charms as well.

The actual Thousand Actions of the Upright Soldier section is handy in its own right if you have a game involving military forces in Creation, particularly those derived from Shogunate military philosophy. It's an interesting combination of Roman military strategy and occasional near rips from Sun Tzu, all re-purposed to Creation, with appropriate reasons given behind much of such. Like the Art of War it's more a promotion of a way of thinking than direct orders to do X in Y situation and A in B situation. While there are specific plans outlined for basic functioning, military tactics and strategy suggested are just that, suggestions, and directly given as options that should be applied as seems most suited to the current situation, and implemented according to your available forces and situation, not simply following a rote doctrine. The overall feel of the book, aside from the mechanics in the back is decidedly similar to that of the Art of War.

Personally, I think it's well worth the money.

I'm slightly disappointed the book doesn't present any new Terrestrial Circle Sorcery - as promised in the Core Book.
