Sad Shroom
The year is 2415. Earth is lost, lost somewhere far away in the depths of space. Fleeing their doomed home-world, humanity split into several innovative spacecraft, built to endure the harshness of space and house new generations of humanity in the hope that one day, when a suitable planet was found, mankind could once again enjoy the wonders of nature. Life upon these spacecraft is harsh, regimented and mechanical; a few unfortunate missteps can result in death, imprisonment, or being sent to the ship's 'Hades Level', a supposedly hellish workstation. The price of survival is costly, and humanity's last strands of hope rest tumultuously on the slim chances of stumbling across a planet able to rehabilitate their migrant race.
And now they have found it. Carrier Ship AXXVI 'Asteria', one of many such spacecraft, has identified a planet almost identical in atmosphere to their beloved Earth, the home they abandoned some centuries ago. For a year now, the ship has remained in the planet's orbit, scanning, identifying, making sure the surface is safe. All the while, recently there have been a controversial project instated by the ship's government. Experiments which take young would-be criminals, or 'Underworlders', and genetically contort them to be the perfect drones for the planet below. Cast out as scapegoats, dispensable people, this small community of teenagers will be the first to touch solid ground in over three centuries, and though risk runs rampant in their endeavours, they will become the pioneers of a new stage of humanity.
But as ever, all is not as it seems. Is the planet really uninhabited? Is something malignant afoot aboard the Asteria? Can the youngsters survive in a world beyond their utmost imagination, where surprise and danger lurk in every fleeting shadow?
Those who were lost are now found. And they are not alone.
Overview
Those Who Were Lost is a dystopian/sci-fi RP inspired by the programme 'The 100'. I'm not going to pretend to be original here; a lot of the plot points are heavily inspired by that show (which is great btw, would recommend and also r8 8/8 m8), however it's far from a total rip and there's also a lot of plot ideas I've implemented myself, so don't be put off. There's also a lot of room for you to add in your own ideas!
This is supposed to be an RP with a lot of freedom. Whilst there will be plot twists and plot stuff going on, I want this RP to be heavily character focused, and thus RPer's will be given almost total freedom as to what they do, within the limits of the plot, of course. I don't want this to be a regimented 'I'm-the-GM-I-have-a-plot-you-will-follow-it-strictly-or-die' RP, and the main focus of this RP will be our characters and what they get up to. You'll have the option to create multiple characters involved in every different environment, and hopefully this'll be a lot of fun!
The thread is up here: check it out and submit a character if you're interested, and PM me if you've any questions!
