Fantasy Those That are Hunted

The thugs ran out of the shop after they saw their "leader" consumed by the darkness. Kai looked the new person over and offered him a seat. "Have a seat," Kai said, sitting down opposite. He faintly recognized the boys ace but shook the thought aside. Kai placed his gun on the table, pointing the barrel at the person. Just in case the boy made any sudden moves, Kai could kill him. He realized that the boy looked slightly like that ice girl who was chasing him. "So, what brings you here huh?" Kai said, propping his feet up on the table. He waved the person at the cash register over and ordered another hot chocolate. "Make it quick please," he added smiling. The woman rushed off and made him a hot chocolate. When she returned Kai took a sip from his drink. He set his drink down and looked out the window, to see if the flying man was nearby.

The darkness felt it's control slip from the agent as she was pulled into an illusion, and it released it's grip. For now.

The conciousness sprang back to Vanessa and she shook for a moment as she regained her own thoughts.

"Wh...what?" she mumbled, looking around the room with bleary eyes, as if she had just woken up. Fluid was dribbling from her nose again and she hurried to find the bathroom, using some toilet paper to wipe her face.

How long had she slept for? The sun was still up, but it felt like she had slept for hours, and yet she was still exhausted.

Vanessa hurried to the door, stumbling slightly as she went into the hallway.

"Alec? ... Alec?! ..."

With no response, Vanessa shut her eyes and rested her head against the doorway in confusion. Something didn't feel right.

Taking a seat in front of the man, Alec didn't even pay attention to the gun pointed at him. He wasn't too worried about what would happen. Even though his powers aren't the fighting type doesn't mean he doesn't know how. He put his hands in his pockets and leaned back into the seat."What brings me here?" He chuckled and pointed at the pile of ash next to them. "My people have been keeping an eye on you. You weren't a bother until recently." Alec's eyes narrowed as his sat up. "I wouldn't have intervened, but you've killed too many civilians in my town. I know who you are, I know what you can do. Just because you can find out what my weakness is doesn't mean it will be useful against me. I have pretty good control over that." He brought his hands onto the table and clasped them together. "Now please don't make me send my people after you. It would be such a waste to lose someone like you."

Xavier nodded, but still looked over Amelie for any visible injuries. "Ok, that's good," he said absentmindedly. "If you faint here I'm not really sure what would happen to you in here or on the outside." He paused as if just realizing what he'd said and looked at Amelie with an apologetic smile. "Sorry about that, didn't mean to be all creepy or bum you out with some scary prediction when you've already got something to worry about. How'd that girl get control of you anyways? I thought she was just-" he made random movement with his hands, trying to further explain his point but looking more like a kid pantomiming nonsense "-stuff."

Amelie smirked. "I doubt I'm going to faint here." Closing her eyes she listened to him. She needed to stop this. Weakness is not something that should be shown. Showing weakness gets you killed. Opening her eyes again she looked at Xavier. "She can put a liquid into you. It goes up to your brain or something." She sighed. "It controls you. I don't know how, but it can also use your powers." Looking down at her hand, all she could picture was the way it looked before, with long pointed ice on it. "I have to admit though. Killing you is not something I want to do. I'm not completely cold hearted."

Xavier listened to what Amelie was saying, taking note of how guarded she seemed. It was only fair he guessed, since he had gone from partner to target in less than a day. He almost chuckled at the thought, but figured it would be considered rude and would prefere not to piss off the agent in front of him any more than he probably had. He smirked at her last comment, pulling his legs up on the bench with him to sit criss cross. "I know you aren't all frozen and cold hearted. Inside, you're all soft and squishy so I know you can't kill me," he teased lightly, smiling like a child just to distract himself that he just lied and the truth was probably more along the lines of the government didn't want him dead. Yet, that is.

Kai grinned and leaned over to Alec. He would seem like a very good ally but of course Kai's wit got the better of him. "Civilians of your town!?" Kai snorted, "excuse me, who gave you possesion of this town?" Kai stood up and walked up to the boy. "I will not ki your civilians only if!" Kai paused dramatically, "you will do me a little favour." Kai grinned and scribbled his phone number on a napkin. "Call me," he said with a wink and headed out of the shop, casually swinging his gun around.

Alec stared at Kai in confusion as he left the shop. The people watching them were dead quiet the whole time. Once Kai left the shop you could hear everyone take a breath and relax. He grabbed the number Kai left. "Everyone, you are safe now. He won't hurt anyone of you anymore!" He yelled out and nodded at the cashier who nodded back He never understood why gifted tended to get jobs at these places. "Now," He stood up and the people parted way for him. "If this were a bar I would say free drinks for everyone, but since this is a coffee shop, Kelly my dear, give out free coffee to everyone here." The cashier, Kelly, nodded. Alec got up and walked out at well.

Amelie glared at Xavier. "If they give me the order I would have to. Unlike you, I'm protecting my self. As long as I do my job they won't send Elo to hunt me down." Her eyes saddened. They would have to send him. No one else would be able to get me back. Amelie sighed. What was she going to do now. Eloarch doesn't even remember anything about her, and here is her old partner, standing right next to her, and she is ordered to bring him back?

Kai had no idea where to go from there. He wondered around the town a bit before deciding to return to his home. He flopped onto the couch and flicked through the channels on the TV. He grabbed a coke from the fridge and placed his phone on the coffee table. Kai payed little attention to the TV show and instead stared out the window. Sighing he checked his phone for messages. Seeing there were none so far he twirled his gun around his fingers and stared at it. Bored, Kai pocketed his phone and walked out of his home and to a nearby park for a stroll.

Xavier smiled and looked up, waving his hand and absently changing the shapes of the clouds. "I'm doing the same you know, protecting myself," he said finally, his voice lacking the usual light tone. "My powers are no where near as powerful as yours or the Elo guy if that's his name, and the only major thing I can do have to be in here." He gesture around to his little world, then looked away from the darkening sky and stared right at Amelie, looking her in the eyes. "I was chipped, and I had a locating device locked on me. When they first got a hold of me it was in a deal so I wouldn't be killed. That was a few years ago. Now tell me, honestly tell me, what did you think they were gonna do with me? I've been an agent for several years, seen a Hell of a lot of things people aren't allowed to see, and there's no way they waste the time to zap me like your friend."

Kai was quickly bored after the stroll and was itchy for a fight. He walked along the streets until he saw a sight the caught his eye. Swearing, Kai climbed a nearby building. He peeked over the edge and saw Xavier and the ice girl in an illusion. He betrayed him! The thought sprung suddenly into Kai's mind. The traitor. Kai was fuming. He pulled out his gun and aimed it at Xavier's head. Kai hated back-stabbers. Doubt suddenly filled Kai's mind. What if Xavier was trying to get the ice girl to help. Kai shook his head clear and aimed the contraption at Xavier's head. He felt the familiar pain as the gun started to suck on his power.

Amelie smirked as she watched everything change around her. "Your powers are not as useless as you think. It just takes a while to find out what you are fully capable of. It did for me." She paused. "Well maybe a little less time than normal people but circumstances caused me to do so." She frowned. Listening to him talk, Amelie had already known that he had a chip in him. It was one of the first things they told her about him. Though seeing him fight along side Kai she knew his powers could become something more. But I don't know if the higher ups will believe me. Amelie ran her fingers through her hair and made a frustrated sigh. "It's a weird situation with you. I know your kind of power isn't that abnormal to find." She leaned foward and rested her elbows on her knees and her chin on her hand. "The kind of mind abilities the government really wants are those that can control people's thoughts as well as what that other person does or a gifted who can change a person's memories. Your odds of being zapped are pretty thin but there is a possibility they might do it."

(since the site isn't letting me post in the ooc section I'm just going to post here. I'm going out of state for a week. I am bringing my lap top but I don't know how often I will be able to respond.)

Xavier rolled his eyes at Amelie's little speech on how his powers would improve, pausing mid eye roll to look at the sky. The light fluffy clouds had turned dark and stormy, threatening rain. 'When the Hell did that happen?' He thought and made the clouds disperse. Chuckling when he heard the bit about his chances for being zapped, he finally looked back at the agent. "I would rather have no chance of being zapped. Having my own personality is a wonderfu-" He stopped, a strange sense washing over him. It was the outside world, he guessed. Something was happening. Standing from the bench, Xavier glanced down at Amelie. "You say my powers might evolve or whatever? Ok then, let's try something," he said and then closed his eyes, leaving the hallucination and Amelie stuck in it.

Opening his eyes to the real world, Xavier quickly took several steps back from where Amelie's body stood. If she got out of the hallucination, he did not want to be right there when it happened. Spinning around Xavier came face to face with Kai and Kai's gun, pointed straight at his face now. "Dude, what the Hell?" He didn't bother holding his arms up or anything, knowing that they wouldn't stop a bullet and that if Kai really wanted to shoot him, there was nothing he could do.

"You f***ing traitor!" Kai yelled, none of you government people can be trusted. Kai's own anger started to fuel his gun. Kai put the gun in his pocket and looked up at Xavier. He thrust his fist into Xavier's gut, his anger increasing his force. Xavier flew back a bit. Kai walked up to him and lifted him by his collar. "I dont ever want to see you again, if i do, you're dead!" Kai spat on his face and walked away. "Same for the little ice b****!" Kai yelled as he turned the corner.

Xavier let out an of-so-manly "eep!" at being picked up by the collar for a second time in less than a day, then glared at Kai. He wiped his face off and picked himself up off the ground, then ran after Kai. "Bastard, you let me explain now," he said harshly and spun Kai around by the shoulder to face him. The thought of how dirty his usually white hair probably was briefly passed through his mind, but he shoved it away just as quickly. "You think I'd turn my back on you after you got the chip out of me or anything else you've done? Damn that's just stupid. The agent there started a fight, so I pulled her into a hallucination so she couldn't hurt me." He said, his anger slowly fizzling out and Xavier put his hands in his pockets, watching for Kai's reaction.

Kai snarled and pulled out his gun. He looked at Xavier a bit before turning to the ice woman. He walked up to her and drew his gun. "So she's the one that needs to die huh?" Kai asked as he placed the barrel of the gun to her head. "Does the b**** die?" Kai ased looking over at Xavier for confirmation.

Amelie inwardly cursed as she was still stuck in the illusion. /I wonder what's going on out there./ she thought. It didnt take long till the illusion broke. When it did, her body stiffened at the feeling of a gun to her head. /What the fuck?/ Her eyes barrowed at Kai's words. "If you kill me, which I doubt you will," Ice formed on her head and started to crawl itself over the gun. "You wouldn't live for very long. The government will know and they will send Eloarch after you. It would be such a shame to have someone with your gift to die. You would be a great agent. Think of the perks you would have." Her eyes slowly started to widen and lips curled into a smile. It felt, and probably looked, creepy. Sure, she could have eventually led the reblleion, but she knew that wasn't get place. She felt so alive working for the government. Not to mention protection form being hunted, unlike her brother.

When Alec walked out of the coffee shop he could feel a strong presence watching him, or more like was watching him. He shrugged it off and pulled out his phone. Maybe he should call the man. Dialing the number he put the phone to to his ear and it started to ring.

Kai snarled. "Your ice won't stop this gun from firing genius, it's not a normal gun, oh and you say they'll send Eloarch after me? I aint scared of that little b**** Eloarch." Kai replied, "now, time to say good night motherf***er." Kai grinned evilly and was about to pull the trigger when his phone rang. "Wait a sec, I'll get on to killing you after this call." He looked at Xavier as if to say "freeze her".

"Yello?" Kai answered his phone. It was an unsaved phone number so Kai was slightly cautious.

Xavier stood, completely helpless to the situation and hating how it was going. Sure, Amilie was sent by the government to catch him, but so had a bunch of other agents before. None of them had needed to be shot. Thinking quickly, Xavier ran a hand through his hair in frustration and paced a few steps. He couldn't just left her die in front of him, but couldn't totally betray Kai. There had to be something... Finally he thought of an idea and stopped pacing, looking between Amilie and Kai. Meeting Amilie's eyes, he looked down the street as a silent signal for her to leave, then focused back on Kai. Taking a deep breath, Xavier used all his energy to pull himself and Kai into a hallucination, but it was different. They still were standing on the street, and a version of Amilie stood frozen. There hadn't been any visible or physical change that could be felt by Kai, but Xavier knew when it had switched. He felt like grinning, but that would blow the while thing. Instead he stuck his hands in his pockets and tried to look as bored as possible while maintaining his little world to where Kai's call would continue uninterrupted.

Amelie stood completely still. Hearing the phone go off she flinched. Her blue eyes were looking around frantically for a way out, almost missing Xavier's signal. Looking from him to Kai and back she nodded and mouthed thank you, before backing away slowly. Amelie started running in the direction she saw Eloarch before. She needed to find him.

Alec was slightly surprised by the quick answer. "Is this Kai?It's Alec. The man that you met at the coffee shop. You busy right now? I know you didnt leave that long ago but thought, why not now?"

Kai grinned. "Oh ya know the usual, just holding this government chick at gun point. Nothing major," Kai chuckled, "Some chick with ice powers, "f***ing annoying, anyway, right I need to ask you a favor." Kai smiled, still holding the gun barrel to her 'head'. "There is this government guy called Eloarch or some s*** like that and he is pissing me the f*** off. I want you to get rid of him, kill him, or make him leave, I don't care. If you can do that, you have my word that no more civilians will die."

Alec started walking to his motorcycle. /Amelie?/ that was the only female ice agent that he knew of. "Eloarch? Never heard of him. I'm sure I can get my people on it. As for that agent you've got. How would you feel about giving her to me?" Alec put his leg up and over the motorcycle and sat on it. Tuning the key into the engine he waited for a response.
