In honor of Thorki week I've been reading a few FanFics and Comics, and I'd love to try out this sad idea that seems to be a kind of theme in the whole Not Marvel AU's. So the jist is that Loki was the runt of all Laufey's children.
You know, hes much smaller, has hair that keeps growing no matter what they do with it, is rather delicate, and is a general disgrace from the view point of Laufey. And so, Laufey gives Loki his name (In which Jotunheim tongue means 'Ugly one') and essentially refuses to 'love' Loki like he does his other children.
Perhaps he has more than a dislike of Loki? We can talk more about it, but one other idea I had as to /why/ he hates Loki, is since Loki is the runt, and the last one out, perhaps poor Farbauti's body was just too tired after birth and ended up dying, and Laufey blames Loki?
Never the less, Laufey shuns Loki, and uses many things against him, including fists, which is why there is an Abuse tag up there. Well, one day, Odin comes to try and work out some peace treaty with Laufey, by saying they should arrange a marriage between Odin's son, and one of Laufey's children. We all know how much Laufey loves Odin, and as such, Laufey sees great opportunity to relieve himself of Loki, and also keep the peace. So he sends Loki to Asgard, all by himself, and once Received, Loki is pretty much treated the same. Hated, unwanted, and most of the people are angry with him.
Even the people of Asgard are resentful of him. How would this runt ever produce an heir? Maybe its just a political marriage, and Thor will have a kid with someone else? Well, when Loki presents himself to Thor, he assures Thor that Thor doesn't actually have to lay with him, as Loki is sure Thor has hear absolutely /everything/ and hates him just as much.
This is where it goes up to you! Thor can pretty much do whatever he wants. He can hate Loki, only use the poor thing to make an Heir and then forget about him, or Thor can fall in love with Loki. And treat the tiny Frost Giant with the first bits of Love and Kindness he'd ever be able to remember.
I'd rather people be 18+, just as a comfort to myself not having to worry. I am 18+ myself, and its really my only requirement here. Thanks!!
