This Sound Is Really, REALLY Scary! How Do I Get Rid Of It?

I'm sitting there, looking at my computer and listening to music while waiting for people to reply to my current role-plays. When a gigantic, robot BEEP comes through my screen! My music gets really low and the sound is terrifying! Then it says "You have a new personal message" on my screen. This happens every single time I have a notification. It's not just PMs, it's thread notifications, too! Is there a way to turn this off or something? It's really terrifying.

if you want to find it again in the future, when you look at your notifications there should be a gear in the corner.


click that and it'll bring you to the notification settings page

Go to your notification settings.  Deselect the option to play sound.
