So, this has nothing to do with anything that has happened, ever. I was looking at status updates and saw a staff and was thinking about how you can't ignore staff (not that I would even want to! I like all the current staff. I was just thinking about how you can't) and how users become staff sometimes, but you can ignore users, and then I was thinking, HEY, what happens if someone you were ignoring becomes staff? Are they magically unignored? Or do you keep ignoring them, since, with the loss of the ignore button, you also lose the unignore button? THESE are the things I think of at 1:30 a.m. lmao. SO, whatcha think?

Huh. I don't know! Possibly they stay on your ignore list but you don't actually ignore them (that seems like something this system might do). We'll have to test that next time we do a promotion!

Staff cannot be ignored, its hardcoded into the forum software.

I just assume that it does some sort of check and lifts any ignores upon promotion or leaves it in place like Kaerri suggested and if said member is demoted, then it kicks in again.
