The world within Thieves Astralis is as magical as it is cruel. Crime, poverty, famine and war are commonplace in it—expected, almost. For every tragedy, there is furtive wonder in the untamed wilds and the slick cityscapes. Magic runs deep in the earth, its creatures, and even the sky, shifting and constructing itself into different designs. Human hands have destroyed and created since the beginning of time. Some have taken to preserve magic while others sought to harvest it. Nations have fallen as much as they have risen under new names. Despite the birth of the New World in the last century, reverence for the divine was not entirely lost. Passages of archaic text spoke of a time when the gods' presence would become faint, but not lost. Soon, the mortals would understand why.
This is a tale of adventure, love, trust, and destiny. Before it can take to the sky on a winged ship, the two starlit paths must cross in a city. It is there, under the mask of nightfall, that their lives intertwine.
Encased in golden light is Ayan Parvati, the Rebel King. He is a man who speaks candidly and angers quickly. He was yet to meet someone whose stubbornness rivaled his own until that fateful night.
Edric Duras, the Stormbearer, is the man whose fingers drip with molten silver. He is as mysterious as he is distant. He rises in the dark and doesn't recede in the face of fury.
Together, their journey is an incredible one and has earned the name of Thieves Astralis. Watch the story unfold, and only then will you know why and how the world remembered them.
01
THE REBEL KING!
Some say it with triumphing enthusiasm, others whisper it with fright and qualm: the Rebel King. He’s a figure of riot and violence for justice for the spectators, but to the crew of the Mistral, he is Ayan Parvati. With addictive devotion he commands the ship as Captain Indya’s second. It is the loyalty to his people and his undying vigor that the crew looks up to. He sleeps late and wakes early and enjoys loud-mouthed conversations with a drink or three. However, he finds the latest addition to the crew unfitting, replaceable even. He holds a personal aversion towards him from a past event he deemed almost forgotten.

02
THE STORMBEARER!
The Stormbearer is a new sobriquet for Edric Duras. It's so new that he thinks of it as a double-edged sword, though no one else except him knows why. He is a man with a unique talent for tinkering, which set him apart from the other recruits. He's self-willed, callous, and doesn't like to spend more time than necessary with people. He ponders more than he speaks, and when he does speak, his words are not about himself. Edric has only shared that he was a peasant and a former apprentice to a no-name, mediocre inventor. Nothing else. No details. The crew accepts that, but the quartermaster is quite distrustful of Edric. The animosity between them is palpable and immediate. After all, they had already met before.

DAUGHTER OF WAR!
The Daughter of War is a pirate who brings awe and fear across the seas and skies. Indya has this nickname for several reasons; one of them being that she was raised by the warrior women of an ancient Oblosian tribe. Before anything else, people remember her as the levelheaded captain of Mistral. She has done selfless deeds, but the world knows she's brutal and cruel when faced with injustice. Indya is far more faceted than the vicious woman others claim her to be. She has a good sense of humor and doesn't take herself too seriously when relaxing with her crew. Indya has strong wanderlust that may be stronger than most as well. It is why she left her home. Ayan, her righthand man, is someone she's known for a long time. Given their camaraderie, it's easy to understand why they're close.

SMILEY!
Smiley is the knowledgable, intriguing navigator on Mistral. Smiley isn't their real name, but it is what everyone on the crew knows them as, for they're often seen grinning. They have a peculiar charisma and an eloquence that is unlike any other. After all, the circus troupe that raised them played a factor in their demeanor and ignited their curiosity for the Old World and its magic. They spent most of their adulthood surrounded by books and learning legends of yore. They formed an expertise in it. Smiley, an accomplished scholar at the time, left their occupation to join Indya's crew. Their reasons are various inconsistencies that they tell for their own amusement. Regardless, they still love to learn and never had their loyalty questioned.

SHADOW CARVER!
He is the menacing silhouette lurking in the corner of one's eye, the seed of fear growing in one's heart, and the sinister whispers in one's ear. Sarvif Farlan is someone who is not lightly spoken about. He is the most ruthless and powerful pirate in the world. A long-standing rumor claims that he can sharpen darkness itself to become a blade in his hand or a physical extension of himself. People nicknamed him Shadow Carver for this reason. Some don't believe it, but to find out would mean facing death regardless. He captains his own ship and runs it with an iron fist. He has gutted men who so much as spoke the wrong way to him. Sarvif is gruesome, and yet well-spoken and cunning enough to sway others to his cause. This makes him even more dangerous.

THE HARBINGER!
Emir Thowil was born in Fostyre, the Eversnow Country, and was an heir to his affluent merchant family. He wasn't satisfied with his wealth and wanted to swear his life to something more meaningful. Something that shared his tendencies for cruelty. Then Sarvif came along. He displayed a show of true power; he was what Emir was waiting for all along. He pledged his fealty to Shadow Carver by murdering his own family in his honor. For that, he became Sarvif's second-in-command, his arduous lover, and fervent follower. They fight alongside each other and are not seen apart for long. Emir earned the epithet Harbinger, because wherever he was present, it always meant that Shadow Carver was nearby.

1.MAGIC
Magic has always stunned even the most brilliant thinkers. It's derived from gods and exists as a gossamer but powerful essence that affects nature. On very rare and unpredictable occasions, magic can imbue itself into an individual. It weaves across bloodlines and sporadically manifests in descendants for many centuries. There's a few names for these individuals, but they are often called sorcerers. A sorcerer is capable of manipulating one of four elements: fire, water, earth, and wind. But whispered, horrified tales speak of those who can harness light or darkness.
2.TECHNOLOGY
Steam-power, iron, and cog-and-gear gadgetry have advanced society over the past century. But it was the discovery of arcanium that caused the next step in technology. Arcanium is a natural crystal with magical properties that's often used by people in the New World. It is extremely rare, seldom found in the earth, and is the only one of its kind that has created such unique effects. In the hands of an inventor, it has endless potential, but also fetches for a high price. Great minds have used arcanium to power new modes of transportation, such as skyships and mechanical wings.
3.BEASTS
Long ago, beasts of innate and mysterious magic roamed the world. Dragons were the mightiest of all and the most sought after. Mankind hunted these beasts and harvested their remains for many purposes. They transformed them into weapons, medicine, armors, decorations, delicacies, and even structures. Most of these beasts are extinct now. The surviving few that prevail in the wild are considered endangered species. Tamed beasts nowadays, like wyverns and griffins, are mounted for battle and travel. People are still left to wonder the complexities of their magic.
4.OLD WORLD
Before the age of machinery, people were devout worshippers of the gods. Religion paved the way for tradition, making each country unique in its own right. Then it evoked the study of sorcery, which many believed were blessings from gods. But one day, these divine beings—from all pantheons—disappeared to a higher realm. Legends and oracles say that the gods will reincarnate in mortal forms to bring balance to the world. This belief and the study of magic still exists and is prevalent in some countries. For that reason, they are the Old World in the face of technology.
