I'm thinking of having Elias Tremalion show up in my game, as an emissary from the Haslanti League to the new government of Cherak.  As far as his personality goes, I'm using Caste Book: Night as my primary source, and that one flavor text bit in Sidereals.  Might modify a few things.


But what stats would you, wise ones, suggest?  I want him to seem experienced to my PCs, so I figure I'll give him about 200-250 xp.  Ideas?  Advice?

He's the Haslanti spy/ operative/ "James Bond type" in the Night book.  General smooth operator - bit poncey for a Northerner, but a good enough guy in a fight - and intelligence agent extraordinaire for the League.

I may give Tremalion a few of these, 'cause I know he uses a glider.  I like Death From Above especially, and I'm sure he'd learn at least one of the defensive types, after that unfortunate incident with the Wyld Hunt...

The Gold Bullet Special, yeah.  I guess I'll build that with whatever Thrown Charms seem appropriate for a one-shot, since they don't describe the Combo except to say that it "virtually disintegrate" some luckless Immaculate...

If you do though, they work from Sail rather than Ride, since I beleive that any vehicles in Exalted, be it boats, airships, gliders and Auto rickshaws, work from Sail, whereas Ride covers living mounts only.

As a side note I would also recommend that you bear in mind one personality trait that seems to be lacking from his character at first blush-


To my mind, Elias really is a patriot.  It's easy to think of him as the Exalted James Bond and a bit spoiled, but I think it's important to build in a level of dedication to the future of the League.


Tremalion works for Oligarchs that don't really trust him, in a cold, unpleasant place that we know he'd rather not be in- and risks his life regularly for their benefit- for the benefit of those that would generally consider him Anathema.  


He can't just be in it for the money.  He's a night caste and he could simply steal whatever caught his fancy.  He's certainly not in it for the prestige, since few people know about him and many of those don't fully trust him.


So why does he do it?


He truly beleives in and is devoted to the League- even at the potential cost of his own life.
