The Balance
[i'm not sure exactly whether or not this is the correct place for this. I believe it is. If I'm wrong, please bear with me, this is my first time trying to post something here.]

This RP will be drawing off of numerous sources for it's inspiration. Namely, military documentaries, the Vietnam War, the Korean War, etc.

Oh, did I forget Nancy Sinatra? Yea, her too.

The RP is set in what used to be the United States of America. Now [after an nebulous war known as "the Conflict"], it has splintered into several nations. Namely, the Unified Conglomerate of Free-States, the Trinity Republic, the Great Northern Empire, the Southern Confederacy, and the Capitol.

The entirety of the RP will be concerning the recent conflict between the Unified Conglomerate of Free-States [comprising of most everything west of the Rockies to the coast; abbreviated UCFS] and the Trinity Republic [comprising of most everything east of the Rockies until the Mississippi River, the RPers are from here; abbreviated TR].

The RP itself will be focusing on a battalion of the military, the 12th Armored-Infantry, its men [the RPers], and their long march through the Rockies. Though technically controlled by no one, the Unified Conglomerate of Free States has exerted its military power throughout the region, effectively making a buffer zone between them and UCFS-proper. It's because of this that the leaders of the Trinity Republic have ordered a massive invasion of the UCFS.

So, what is the point of the RP? The point is quite simple, get through the mountains without getting your head blown off by a hidden sniper, bombed by artillery, or crushed by a tank.

The RP will be run in a sort of Tabletop Role-play fashion where the RPer will say what he or she does, I will roll some dice, and determine whether or not their action achieved the desired effect. The RP will be fought strictly with conventional warfare. Despite the fact that the RP takes place in the future, some of the technology and the overall atmosphere will be as if it's taking place in the past.

I know this idea seems small, it kind of is at this point, but I have a great deal of lore I typed up elsewhere. If anyone want's to help with this, start a conversation with me and I'll give you the link. If anyone wants to critique the idea as it stands now, do so. I'll take all the constructive criticism that you've got.

Conceptually interesting, but there's not enough content here to form a serious opinion.

Do you have a system in mind of the dice mechanics, or will you be devising something yourself?

It happens I can potentially recommend a number of potentially viable systems, and can offer assistance in generating one.

I can offer more on the narrative side of things with more detail, but right now your themes and tone are well illustrated in the influences.

I'm all for sort of a Civil War among the states. Rather however I do not understand how you are going to take a futuristic idea and turn it into a dice game especially with the lethality of weapons constantly going up.

Explain what you mean by "constantly going up". The weapon damage isn't going to be constantly rising, I simply wanted it to be realistic. People aren't walking tanks, the RPers shouldn't be either. Also, the RP, while technically set in the future, is supposed to feel more like the past.

Weapons are more accurate, have larger payloads, go farther. We have weapons that can defeat other weapons with high rates of success. vice versa.

Ah, I see.

In my mind, the RP takes place in an alternate reality where the VAST majority of the advanced technology we have today either no longer exists, or was never invented. Even though the date says it take place in the future, it's actually supposed to have more of a "retro" feel to it.
