''You know normal people go to bars on a Saturday evening. Normal people are watching movies on Saturday evenings. And the most important one, normal people don't have idiot friends who ask them to test a freaking time machine'' Aaron's voice grew angrier and angrier with each sentence. Because of his ridiculous best friends he's going to waste his Saturday evening on a stupid project. ''I'm sorry but someone has to control the time machine. I promise you if it works everything will work, including the return pad. And you'll only be send to a week ago. Don't worry nothing can go wrong'' One of his best friends, Matthew, tried to talk him into trying out their so called time machine.

The silence thickened and you could see everyone getting uncomfortable with it. Lucy decided to break the silence, ''if it works I'm pretty sure we get an award or something'' Lucy stood up from her chair and gave him some papers. ''Because you're so stubborn I'm letting you see this'' Aaron read the papers. They were test results claiming that the time machine worked. ''If it works, why do you need me?'' The question added a pound to a pile named 'uncomfortable'. ''You see'' Alice turned around so she didn't have to look him in the eye. Matthew distracted himself with a Rubiks cube and Aaron just raised his eyebrow. ''What is this? A stupid soap?''

''Ha. Ha. Ha really funny. Well here goes nothing. I decided to send a bird back to the past. It worked and we got it back'' Aaron waited for Lucy to end her story. But nothing. After waiting a minute, still nothing. ''Wait? That's it? You send a bird back to the past and it got back and that's it?'' Lucy turned around in a split second and the glare on her face told him that he shouldn't have said that. ''A bird Aaron! A freaking bird! I'm no better than all those other ass-hole companies that test on animals'' It took a second to progress it but finally a smile appeared on Aaron's face.

''Fine. If you really want my help'' Aaron couldn't finish his sentence because he got pushed into the time machine. ''Here's a backpack with food, an emergency cell-phone, some matches, a flashlight and the return pad'' The sound of beeping and buzzing made Aaron rethink his decisions. ''Good luck Aaron''A bright flash made him close his eyes.

A soft breeze and warmth made him open his eyes. He knew that he wasn't inside anymore. But he didn't expect to be greeted by a rather calm looking sea. It almost made him calm down. If it wasn't for the fact that he doesn't life near the sea. Aaron wanted to look away until he noticed a ship. While debating with himself if he should go check it out or not he made a note to himself to remind him that Matthew and Lucy were bastards.

"Don't walk too close, kiddo." A woman said, she had been watching him appear out of thin air, something mages did all the time and had realized his attention had fallen upon her beautiful pearl of a ship. Something many did, but no one dared to walk too close, neither should he.

The Elven woman was sitting upon a big rock. They had been on this island for a good few days now, looking for treasure which they also had managed to find, in the shape of rubies and diamonds, not the best type of treasure, or the most exciting but it had to do. It had taken them three days to retrieve the treasure and killed the savages standing in-between. Natives were never a social bunch, nor very friendly. Not that Andara couldn't see why. The Natives probably have had countless of pirates and thieves sneaking through their camps and ruins of a temple to steal the exact same thing. Good thing for Andara, that her crew and herself was just too darn good at their jobs.

"That'll be a Pirate ship, and believe me when I tell you this, you don't want them to spot ya." She smirked towards the young man, who looked like any other human. His cloths was rather odd but nothing she would spend time questioning. She had seen a lot of strange things in her days and a young humans cloths would be the least of it. He looked lost though, which was a curious thing indeed. How could someone reach a island without getting wet and still be lost? Clearly he wasn't a very talented mage or he would at least know where he had teleported himself.

Not bad looking for a human either, not that she could tell if a human was handsome, cute or ugly however, they all looked the same to her. Savages, every single one of them. This one dressed rather fancily though and perhaps was worth a few coins. There was always that. "Where are ya from?" She asked, tilting her head and causing her blond and tied up hair to sway lightly in the wind behind her.

The island was beautiful, tall palm trees and pearly white beaches, with one too many dangerous swamps filled with what one could only assume were corpses. He wouldn't stand a chance, she would do him a favor would she take him with her.

A pirate.. Ship? Pirates? All kinds of questions poppep up in his head. He turned to the source of the voice. Her outfit caught him off guard. And the woman's ears didn't help.

"Not from here" Answered Aaron with a sheepish grin. Aaron balanced on the heel of his feet and grabbed his backpack. He didn't know what to expect of the woman in front of him. She could be dangerous, unlike some people his mother thaught him the sentence 'stranger danger'.

He looked back at the ship and remembered all the stories he heard as a kid about pirates. Which, now he thinks about it weren't that much.

Andara watched the man as he moved about, thinking to herself what to possibly do. She could call the others and make them capture him without her having to lift a finger, instead perhaps it would be better if she simply tricked him, like you did now a days. She tilted her head and leaned her chin against the back of her hand, watching him silently for a few moments. Did he actually not know where he was? It seemed strange to her, he was dry so he hardly could be someone thrown off a boat. Magic seemed the only logical conclusion and even that seemed a bit far off. He didn't carry the stench.

"You seem awfully interested in that ship." She said, looking towards the Lion's Crown, just like the young man did before looking back at him. "That is one of the most feared pirate ships in the world. I wouldn't stare so hard, not stand like that or they might see you. What I have heard they're not very kind, onboard the Lion's Crown."

''Oh that's just great. I'm gonna get killed by a bunch of freaking pirates'' Thought Aaron while swallowing his saliva. ''That's just great'' Whispered Aaron while still leaning on his heels. This day probably couldn't get any worse. I mean, what's worse than getting send back in time to a period were pirates still exist. Also that said pirates are probably going to kill him. Yeah, a third world war is probably worse. But right now he's in a area were the first world war didn't happen yet.

''So were are you from?'' Asked Aaron while his voice did this weird crack. ''Really? Am I really getting scared because pirates may or may not going to kill me?'' Aaron sighed to himself and wanted to face-palm because of his thoughts. He almost got too scared to remember the lady's ears. With the emphasize on almost. It would probably be a bad idea to ask about that. No scrap that, he knows that it is a bad idea to ask about those. A million questions flew through his head, but not one question was worth the risk of asking.

He looked confused, it made her feel a bit odd. Usually people didn't look confused when they met her, or her crew, but then again: She had never told him that she was a pirate. Now the cracking of a voice and the slight shade of fear in the man's eyes was indeed something she was used to. It made her feel a bit better, more comfortable, as she leaned back upon the palm of her hands, resting against the rock. "I'm Andara, that's what you can call me anyway." Not interested in giving the man her full name, would he recognize who she was, not that he seemed to be the type to recognize anything, he didn't even seem to know himself all that well wither. "You're dressed awfully funny for someone on a tropical island, are you of nobility?" She had to ask, she had never seen a man like him before, or at least not dressed like him before.

She could hear her crew sing and shout from her ship, clearly already getting into a celebrating mood, not that she minded. Her crew deserved the best, especially after the chest of diamonds and rubies hiding in the lower cabin of the Lion's Crown. She was so proud.

Aaron raised his eyebrow when he heard her question. Nobility? Him? Out of all the things she could've asked she asked him that? And what does she mean with funny? His clothes weren't that weird. Or are they? Compared with her clothes he did look a little weird. ''No, no I am not'' Answered Aaron with his eyebrow still raised. The question lingered through his head and he blinked a few times. ''My name is Aaron. Just so you know''. He didn't know if that was a smart move but he just went with it.

Thinking about smart moves reminded him of his emergency phone. He doubted that it would work. But than again they were able to make a time machine. Maybe this phone could make contact with them? Aaron made a mental note to try to contact his friends. The sooner he got home the better. He really didn't want to face a bunch of pirates, and with some luck he didn't have to.

No, he spoke truth, he was no nobility. The man didn't look much like a liar either. His name was easy enough to remember and not at all as strange as his way of dress. The elf pondered, he was perhaps not worth a single cent, and it wasn't as if she needed the gold, not now anyway. Jumping off her rock and dusting herself off, she didn't remove her eyes from him. Perhaps she could just take him with her for no real reason, taking captives was always funny, especially if she would run into some law-obedient sea dogs. She could always trade him away and not have to deal with a battle, not that they would lose. "Very well, Aaron, the pleasure is all mine." She held out her hand for him to shake it, kiss it, do whatever he did when he greeted someone, no one seemed to do the same thing anyway and she wasn't certain herself of to greet someone properly.

"You shouldn't stay alone on this island, except the pirates, it's filled with horrible savages who will eat your flesh and use your bones as windpipes." Not anymore there wasn't, but he didn't need to know that. She started to walk around him, eyeing him up and down. "Perhaps you could come with me? Better two than one." Or fifty, depending on how many fights he wanted to win.

I like my bones. They're part of the reason I can move. That adds something to the list of things I don't want to see being used as windpipes, Aaron blinked himself out of his thoughts and shook her hand. Her staring made him feel rather uncomfortable. But her offer made up for it. ''I would love to'' It's better than staying here alone. Maybe she had a ship or something. Something that would get them away from this rather shady island. At least if everything she said about it was true. Not that he wanted to figure it out for himself.

Aaron opened in his back to see if everything was still there, he made sure that she couldn't see in his bag. A smile appeared on his face when he saw everything in the bag. His emergency phone, that may or may not be useless right now, his matches, always useful right? The flashlight, which seeing the circumstances was something he was afraid of using and the return pad, he really hoped that that was useful otherwise he would die here. He closed his backpack again and smiled at the woman in front of him. If his guts were right, and they usually are, everything would turn out alright and he would be home in no time.

Andara smirked at him as they shook hands. This was going to be fun indeed, they just had to go to her crew's campsite and everything would go smoothly. She pointed over her shoulder towards the jungle behind her. A snake was parked on a branch, watching them silently with its tongue going in and out as it smelled the air around it. "My camp is just behind these trees, not too far - don't worry. I need to pick some stuff up before we can leave the island. Mind helping me? That way I can keep a close eye on you and keep the savages off our backs." Sounding arrogant seemed to be the young woman's greater traits, arrogant but kind, it was an odd mix. Almost like mixing terrifying and comforting, it wasn't possible but it still managed to happen plenty of times.

She placed a hand on one of her swords, not to look threatening but to feel safe about her surroundings, especially if the young man had found a weapon in that bag of his. When he stopped looking inside his own belongings like a lost child she calmed down and turned, entering the forest with no regards towards the snake who hissed at her. Poisonous snakes was no issue of hers. She had yet never been bitten by one and would she ever be she'd just go to her private medic back at the ship. The man on the other hand probably would be more careful which was why she uttered: "Beware the snakes, by the way" over her shoulder towards his direction. "And stay close."

He smiled back at her and said, ''sure why not''while he was shrugging. As long as it wasn't heavy or threatening in any kind off way he didn't have a problem helping the woman who was helping him. He followed her into the forest. More than a drop of saliva got swallowed by Aaron when he heard the comment about the snakes. For no reason at all his hand reached towards his backpack. Like anything in it would help him battle a bunch of snakes. Well he could throw his flashlight at the snakes. Not that he was going to do that. Lucy probably wants her flashlight back when he gets home. I mean the thing works on solar energy, that stopped being cool years ago!

''Thanks for the tip'' Whispered Aaron with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. He knew he shouldn't act this way towards people who try to help him. But when there's a chance that a poisonous snake bites you, or normal snake but it's not like that matters. You can be as sarcastic as you want to be. At least that's what the book of rules say. The imaginary book of rules inside Aaron's head. Getting updated every time he feels like it. He followed her orders and tried not to show his fear on his face. He probably failed horribly because he wasn't really used to snakes and forest things. This is why I stay inside, thought Aaron to himself with a subtle shake of his head.

Of course, the camp was not filled with pirates anymore, most of her crew had gone back to the ship. Who were there however was her second in command and the medic, both looking at her with unpleasant faces. "Cap-" "I'm back boys! Look what I found at the beach!" Andara interrupted, smiling at the two men.

Both of them were big, pointy eared creatures. Peering in-between each other and then staring at the young man who their captain was speaking about. He didn't look like much. Dressed weird. Maybe he was worth some money? They didn't quite understand why they needed more, at this point in time. They smiled however, because it was what Andara wanted. "Greetings, youngling." The second in command, Joseph, said, reaching his hand out towards the young man to greet him. "I'm Joseph."

A worried expression appeared on his face and disappeared a second later. Youngling? Really? Aaron tried to stop himself from laughing. Lucky for him he succeeded in that simple task and shook the hand of the man in front of him. ''Nice to meet you. My name is Aaron'' Said he with a smile. If you asked him if he was intimidated by the people around him he would make a weird sound with his throat and laugh uncomfortably. Or was that weird sound his laugh?

When no one said something his emergency phone thought it was the perfect time to ring. Lucky for him it was just a single beep, indicating that it was a text-message. While he got nervous because of it he also thought it was amazing that they could text him in a time period without satellites. It also brought him hope. He could maybe call back and ask them how to come home. Hopefully for him no one else heard the beep. But if they did he hoped that they thought that it wasn't from him.

The beep caught the captains attention and the both men knew exactly what that meant. Seeing as they had been with her on the open sea for years and years. The Medic, named Rovier took hold of the young man's arm, smiling down at him with pearly white teeth and a strange minty breath. "You must let me examine you! Who knows what sort of terrible illness you might have gotten by just breathing the filthy air of this place. There is poison everywhere you know."

While the medic were speaking, Joseph had walked behind the two and fished out a big brown sack from a place unknown. Her crew sure had their talents and while the medic held the young man in a tight grip the First Mate attempted to pull the sack over Aaron's head. Andara was surprised over her crews diligence, it seemed like they could read her mind and she pretended to swoon out of share intrigue. She did indeed love them, very much. Not only as a captain but as a strange friend who always kept forgetting their name.

They probably heard the beep. And they probably knew it came from him. The sentence: I'm screwed, repeated itself in Aaron's head. ''No thank you.I... I have medical insurance'' A nervous laugh passed his lips and he quickly pulled his flashlight out of his backpack. After a second of trying to get a decent idea in his head he pointed his flashlight at the guy holding him. ''Do you know what this is? Probably not. But I do. And trust me when I say that the effects of it aren't pretty'' It took all his confidence to say that. Because in no other circumstance would he threaten someone with a flashlight.

He really hoped they didn't know what it was. And even if they knew what a flashlight was this one looked pretty weird. It was bright yellow and it had this weird handle, make that two weird handles. Because there's also an handle to mandatory power it's battery. Aaron also just noticed that it also had a radio built in. With his thumb on the switch he pointed at the Medic. Wait? Medic? What, did they send him to a weird version of Team Fortress 2? Aaron noticed that Joseph had a weird brown sack. Is he? No.. Really? That's just great they're trying to kidnap me or something like that. And it took everything Aaron had not to face-palm.

The tall elf woman had started to bounce from foot to foot, clapping her hand excitedly. She clearly had no clue what the weird yellow thing was that the young man held but she wanted it, more than that beeping thing. At fist the two men stopped in their tracks, what in the world was that? They were pirates, they traveled the world, they had seen everything but never something as odd as that. Joseph was the one wondering for the longest what to do, his captain clearly wanted whatever the heck that was and even though it looked toxic he never would refuse to give her what she wanted, no matter what - if you catch his drift.

"If it actually could stop us, why aren't you already using it?" Rovier asked, tilting his head as he watched it, and how the man held it. Perhaps the sack wasn't a good idea? The Medic peered at Jospeh who simply shrugged. "Wanna try it anyway? She seems rather excited." Rovier turned towards the captain who was still bouncing and frowned slightly. "Mhm, I haven't seen her this thrilled since the Savage hunt last year."

The two men turned towards the young man again, this time looking angry. "Stop fooling us boy and show us what it does or we'll club ye down like the maggot ye are."

An uncomfortable chuckle passed his lips while he scratched his neck. Aaron sighed deeply and he stopped pointing the flashlight at the men in front of him. ''Fine you got me.The only thing I could do with this thing to hurt you is to throw it at your face. But I borrowed it from a friend and they probably want it back. And I don't want to pay for a knew one because it's pretty expensive. At least I think so...'' Aaron stopped talking to look at the thing in his hands. He started inspecting it and found out that you could plug your phone into it for some reason. And something else, but he couldn't think of what else.

''So yeah. If you really want to know what this thing does'' Aaron stopped talking to look at their faces for a second. ''It makes light'' He made a sound with his tongue and continued speaking, ''yep. But it also makes musics I guess. I don't think it works here, but like I said normally it makes music''. Aaron started making a plan B in his mind. Maybe the match lights could help him out? Or would they bring him in more problems? Taking out his flashlight clearly didn't have the effect he wanted. Although he wasn't really sure what effect he wanted.

''So yeah.. That's it. It makes light.'' Aaron said awkwardly while biting his lip. Because, what else was there to say? Or what else was there to do? Call 911?

"Are you done?" Joseph asked, raising a thick eyebrow. This was getting on his nerves, they were already late for dinner and this scrawny little boy was hardly close to be of any use on the ship, except maybe as a tooth pick. "Good, let's go, in the sack with you." The man continued and attempted to pull the sack over the head of the boy so he could carry the entire body on his back without having to deal with waving limbs and other disturbances.

While the Medic and her second in command were goofing off with the new meat, the captain was walking off already extremely bored with the situation. She was going to look through the young man's bag later, when they were on their way off the very humid island. Andara was easily distracted and figured that if they didn't get on the ship and far far away from this place, they'd be stuck there for years. It had happened once and she was certain it would happen again.

"Trust me boy." Said Rovien as he scratched the back of his head. "You'll do better in that sack and on our ship than you would on this gods forsaken place. It's horrible for both the skin and the hair. Terrible place."

After a second of thinking Aaron just shrugged and said, ''yeah I'm done''. So he just let the man pull the sack over his head. While putting his backpack back on he looked a little bit around him. Rovien was right. He rather was inside of a ship than here on this island. Aaron's mind started drifting. Questions filled his head but none of them had to do anything with going home. Once he was on the ship he could probably just use the return-pad to go home. So that wasn't something he was going to worry about. Most of the questions that infiltrated his mind were about the island. Others were about the ship. But the one he wanted an answer for the most was, why the hell they called him 'boy'.

''I'm an adult'' Muttered Aaron under his breath. What were they thinking? He didn't look that young. ''I know how to drive a freaking car''Said Aaron softly while shaking his head.

Aaron looked back at the guy who was trying to pull a shack over his head. Really? It's not like he would try to run away. Where was he supposed to go anyway? And how? Well.. home, but he needs his return-pad for that. And he rather does it while no one watches. So there's no way he accidentally brings someone with him. Or so that no one can stop him from going home.

After bagging the boy and taking him to the ship, the crew released him. Surrounded by buff and long eared men. With the captain sitting on a box not far away. She was looking at the flashlight that Aaron had pointed at her, playing with all the buttons she could find. How had she gotten hold of it? In the same way she had gotten hold of his entire bag, which was laying by her feet. The pad which he was dying to use, she was already using, as a foot stand.

"Do we need to tie him up? I start to have a feeling that the boy is sick or something. He looked off to me." Said Joseph who wiped his hands on his own shirt. He didn't seem to enjoy handling something he didn't know anything off. It wasn't his job. Sure making the captain happy was his job but not in this type of fashion.

"He's not ill." Said Rovian who has walking back and forth, clearly thinking to himself about something or other.

Andara jumped of her seat, her heel getting stuck in the return-pad and she pointed at each and one of them with the flashlight that was shining them straight in the faces. "Well, hop to it! We don't have all the time in the world. Get us away from here! Ocean ahoy!" She chuckled and watched as all the men ran towards their posts and before they knew it the boat had started to move.

''I'm not sick!'' Aaron glared at Joseph. They were the ones who are sick. When he looked around him his level of nervousness raised from level 1 to level 9000. When he saw Andara his eyes turned into saucers. Fear replaced his nervousness and he had to stop himself from running towards her. What was he supposed to do if she broke the return pad?

That's when he remembered his emergency phone. Was it really a text or just a warning that the battery was death? He really hoped the former but his guts told him that it was the latter. His friends were smart, but not smart enough to send a text back in time. How are they supposed to do that anyway? There aren't any satellites here.

''So.. When I can I leave? You know.. With my stuff. Because you know.. I gotta go.. I don't mean that you should trow me off board.. You know what I mean right?'' He looked at her with an awkward smile while scratching his neck. Asking couldn't hurt right?
