  Dearest Citizens,
  It is our pleasure to announce the engagement of the Crown Princess to Prince Colton Belmont of the Golden Isles. This marriage will not only serve to bring our countries together, but to provide light in a time that is otherwise dim. As is such, a party is in order, and the King and Queen humbly invite you to the castle to celebrate with us, on the Winter Solstice. All who attend will be honored guests, and will have lodgings prepared for them within the castle for the duration of their stay. All are welcome with open arms during this time of happiness, and it would be our greatest honor to have you here, with us.

  You know how stories like this go. Once upon a time there was a perfect princess who lived with her perfect royal family in the perfect castle in the perfect kingdom. Now that perfect princess fell in love with brave Prince Charming, who rescued her from some peril or another. They got married, blah blah blah, and then they lived happily ever after. Right? Honestly? You couldn’t be more wrong. This kingdom, Thesale, isn’t perfect, not by any means. It still has its slums, and dirty back alleyways. Its pirates, and thieves and assassins, and ridiculous, too strict laws made my ridiculous, too strict rulers. The one thing is doesn’t have? Magic. At least that’s what everyone believes. An ancient ruler decreed it illegal long ago, slaughtering whoever wielded it. It was so long ago, in fact, that most people simply don’t believe it exists anymore.
  
  A secret group however, has discovered that some magically gifted bloodlines survived. There aren’t many, and some who are able to remain unaware. But it’s enough for talk of rebellion to begin, right under the nose of the monarchy. The key to it all: a book, kept carefully hidden within the deepest, most secure part of the castle. Sanguis et Aqua. Blood and Water. The book contains knowledge that no one should ever possess—not the king and queen, or any of the magic users. It can be used for good, or for evil, but always with a price to the user. The engagement party presents the perfect opportunity for the coven to steal this book. Please also keep in mind that I plan on making this an advanced literacy RP, so posts should be at least three paragraphs long, if not more!! I don’t plan on killing you with rules or expectations, so please do not worry.
