Personality Traits: Most people view Matías as a quiet, but friendly, observer. He is prone to just sitting back and letting other people have all the attention, but he's always making sure to pay attention and remember. It can be hard to get him to join a conversation, and some of his neighbors may view him as gruff or even shy, he's mostly just a bit self conscious and paranoid he may end up putting his foot in his mouth. Around his family, however, he's incredibly open and caring, and he would do anything for them. He has a lot of love to share, he just hates talking about himself and his past.
Any odd quirks: He smokes when he's stressed and thinks no one can see him, trying to keep it a secret from his husband, children, and neighbors.
Background: Matías had a less than ideal past, living with an alcoholic father and older brother. Despite being nontraditional in family composition, they were pretty in-tune to their Mexican culture. Matías and his brother didn't get along with their father at all, and would often sneak out of the house or lock their selves in their rooms to avoid his drunken shouting and angry fists. While it was stressful, it was fun, in a way, and the two brothers were especially close. However, when Matías was 14, his brother moved out of the house, abandoning him with their toxic father. The next four years of his life were a living hell, alone with his father in a loveless house. He couldn't have left fast enough.
In his college years, he discovered that he actually had time to reflect on who he was as a person, noting his attraction to men and finally getting to act on it. He and his husband met in undergrad and quickly fell in love. The two moved in together as Matías worked his way through his masters program, and eventually adopted two beautiful daughters.
Appearance: Matías is rather tan, but freckled. His hair is long and thick, and he alternates between wearing it down and doing some fun up-dos that he can share with his daughters. His eyes are dark, and his brows severe. He spent most of his time until recently clean shaven, but likes how having facial hair makes him look more mature.

Partly because she had found new friend who was year older and partly because she found out how much she likes punk, rock and metal (and partly because she started to turn teenage) Her grades made nose dive when she stopped holding down her kleptomania, even starting to steal to get money, that she used to buy electric guitar and amp.

Background: Cass is the only daughter of two wealthy socialites who pampered and spoiled her all throughout her childhood. However, in her teen years, like most teens, she became more rebellious and a rift formed between her and her parents. The last straw was when Cass confessed her bisexuality, and her parents cut all ties with her. While she was out on her own, she had a short fling with a guy who she met and really liked, which resulted in her unexpected pregnancy. The guy was scared away by the news and with nowhere left to go, she returned to her parents. They took her back with open arms because they interpreted her pregnancy as her no longer being bisexual, and made her keep the baby. She grew to love her son, obviously, and, later, met her current girlfriend. Her parents think Himeno is only her roommate, and that's the way things might stay for a while.
Appearance: A natural brunette, Cass has her hair professionally bleached a platinum blonde with her naturally dark, bushy eyebrows showing underneath. Her hair is cut neck-length in some places, a bit chaotic in other places. Her eyes are light grey, and she typically accents them with sum expertly-done makeup. One of his best friends said something really hurtful to him and the two of them got into a fight. Now a lot of the school has been turned against him and he feels like a bit of an outcast. He gets bullied and sometimes gets in physical fights but doesn't want anyone to know about it.

He likes showing off and having the spotlight on him making him a little self-interested in that sense, but be clear that he's a good kid, one who wouldn't hesitate to help out his friends in trouble.

Any odd quirks?: He tends to wear his rollerblades around everywhere, or atleast everywhere he can get away with it - Thankfully he's gotten good enough that he's not likely to break anything, and he knows well enough when to slow down. But it's fair to say that he's little obsessed with skating, and similar sports.

Appearance: Oscar has short, messy chocolate-brown hair, bright hazel eyes and quite a lot of freckles. He's fairly short for his age, similar to his big-sister in that sense. Otherwise he's pretty unremarkable.

Clothing style: It's hard to say if Oscar really has much of a "style" developed yet, thoug he has quite a few hoodies with overly-soft/fluffy insides - But honestly assuming your not trying to get him dressed up, he'll wear whatever he thinks looks cool. Personality traits: For the most part, Isaac is a pretty content kid, happy to get on with his own thing. It could be argued that he's somewhat immature, not caring much for the social hierarchy or more grown-up activities his peers at school are becoming interested in, preferring to stick to his imaginary games and toys. He can also be rather naive, and overly-trusting, which can lead him to be taken advantage of or easily pressured. As he's almost reaching those confusing teenage years, he's starting to realise his emotions, as well as the emotions of others, are more complex than he initially thought. To try and escape this, he has started to bottle up anything negative until he explodes, or will literally run away from situations where emotions are running high. Despite this, Isaac still tries his best to be cheerful, and wants to be there for his friends and family if he can.

Any odd quirks?: Sits with unusual posture, must cut the labels out of all his clothes, fussy eater (won't eat foods touching other foods - very particular with what he likes), clicks his tongue against the roof of his mouth when thinking

Appearance: Isaac sports a head of messy brown hair, which most of the time he will refuse to brush. He has pale skin, and dark brown eyes. Having not yet hit his growth spurt, he is rather small for his age.

However, she's been very depressed lately, because she lost her job and had a miscarriage just a few weeks before the roleplay begins. When her children aren't around, she cries and drinks all the time.

Any odd quirks: She tries to hide her drinking from her family and neighbors.

Background: Amelia grew up poor, in a very abusive family. Both her parents were heavy alcoholics, and she started drinking under their influence when she was around 14. Soon, she also became addicted, and did a lot of things she isn't proud of. When she met her husband, though, everything changed. She always wanted a family, and he was everything she was looking for. Amelia quit drinking, joined AA, got a job, got married. However, by the time the roleplay begins, she's starting going downhills again. Though she does her best to be a caring wife and mother, she's just lost her job and had a miscarriage, so she feels depressed and has started drinking again, after all those years.

Personality Xavier is very optimistic and hopeful, preferring to see everything in a good light. This may make people see him as oblivious to the bad side of things, including people, but despite his cheeriness, Xavier still knows what the real world is like: he knows there are bad people and awful things happen, but he just likes to be bright. He tries to be a good kid but is still a troublemaker due to his energetic nature- sometimes he just doesn't know when to stop doing something, which can make him fairly annoying, though he's still a likable person. He rarely ever gets mad, preferring to just go with the flow of things- even on the rare occasion he does get mad, it's barely noticeable, the telltale signs being very vague: he's just a little more snappish than usual, and is less bouncy. Even though seeing him angry is a rare occurrence, it's more common to see him on the more melancholy side of the spectrum. It's also easier to tell when he's sad, as he'll be much quieter than he usually is and is more affected by what happens to him- instead of just ignoring the issue per usual he'll comment on it. Xavier adores making friends- in his opinion, the more the merrier. Even though Xavier loves to make friends, he prefers not to make deep emotional connections due to harboring some trust issues. He's very confident, his skateboarding adding to it- being a daredevil has made him fairly egotistical, but not to the point of annoyance. Overall, Xavier is just a happy person who prefers to see the good in things.
Quirks

• Xavier tends to mix up words. For example, once someone asked him what time was, he looked at his cell phone which promptly said '5:11'. As a result, Xavier confidently said it was 'fleven'. He'll never forgive himself for it.
• Xavier can remember things from certain instances. As an example, if he plays a certain game, he'll associate it with a certain memory, such as when he was playing Super Marios Bros. 3, he was listening to a guitar video at the same time.
• He does different things to his lips depending on his emotions, not just isolated to one behavior such as biting them. When he's angry, he'll bite his lips, when he's nervous, he'll lick his lips, when he's sad, he'll purse his lips, and such and such. His lips have suffered quite a few small injuries due to his behaviors.
• Xavier seems to have developed exceptional pain resistance on his knees in his toddler years which has lasted up to the present, experiencing only dull pain when they're injured. Some doctors claim it's a reflex issue, others claim it is a neurological issue. Xavier just thinks his knees have been scraped and bruised so much that they've simply developed a particular resistance to pain.
• Xavier's asthma seems to be worse in certain situations, such as when he's doing a school presentation or in gym class. It, subsequently, is also less severe in certain circumstances, such as when he's around friends or in the comfort of his home.

Background Xavier was born on December 9th, though he was a week premature as his due date was December 16th. He spent his first week in NICU but got out with no major complications besides asthma. He lived a very normal childhood, not really suffering many life-changing events besides when he started losing feeling in his knees, but he saw that as more of a blessing than a curse; after all, he scraped his knees a lot, being a child, and it was nice not feeling pain on those frequent occasions. Additionally, when he was six and got diagnosed with ADD, causing pretty severe outbursts, he got an Emotional Support cat he named Briar. When he was about eight years old, Xavier got into skateboarding, and was quite skilled at it, entering a lot of competitions and even placing in a few. That's when his life got a bit more active, as he started spraining ankles and breaking his wrists; his worst injury was a broken leg after he tripped a landing going down a railing. He got into more competitions and started placing in a lot of them, and eventually, it got boring. So, he quit his competitions and made a YouTube channel where he uploaded his skateboarding experiences. It picked up a good amount of popularity, and he was pretty well known, known as the 'Skateboarding Kid', or his channel name, 'Xavier_Boards'. His life got more fun after he started uploading himself breaking bones and tearing ligaments, and that's where we are now in this chapter of the daredevil of a boy's life story. Fun, no?

Personality Traits: Ken can be kind of a hard-ass. He's pretty gruff and doesn't express much of his emotions in public. He obviously likes to play by the rules and upholds the law to a serious extent. Around his family, he's only slightly more laid-back. While he cares a lot about them, he sometimes doesn't know the best way to show his affection. Toward his kids, he can be sort of strict, but he only wants the best for them. He doesn't quite understand them sometimes, but he does his best to learn. He struggles with letting the whole family how much he cares about them. Despite his more conservative upbringing, deep down he's just a Papa Bear with a heart of gold.
Any odd quirks: He's pretty impatient, and can be pretty passive aggressive while waiting for someone; sighing and tapping his feet. He's very bad at hiding when he's irritated.
Background: Ken grew up in a more rural area, actually living on a farm house with his rather large, conservative family. He was the oldest of five children, and when he was 15, his father died due to liver failure. As their father had been the breadwinner for the family, Ken, now acting as the man of the house, took on the role of the man of his house. He got a part-time job to help his family afford to grow, and with that, his schooling, and his work on the farm, he had a pretty heavy workload. Eventually it became too much for him, and he ended up dropping out of school in order to help his family out more.
Once his other siblings were old enough to help support the family and they became more secure financially, he was able to get his GED and began pursuing the career he actually wanted. He still worked as a handyman on the side while he was on the way to becoming a police officer, and that's where he met his future wife, Amelia. Despite their small age difference, he was head over heals in love with her, and, with his new job, was able to support her while she began getting her life back on track.
Now he works as a deputy police officer, sometimes working long hours because he's a rather dedicated individual. Recently, he's scaled back at work, however, to be around more, especially since his wife's miscarriage and his daughter's fight.
Appearance: In contrast with his youthful-looking wife, Ken looks a bit more mature, aged from the life he's lived. His hair, once a lovely hazelnut brown, has started to grey, and he's let it grow out a bit longer than he used to keep it in the past. He normally has a bit of stubble, and his complexion is a bit ruddy. He's actually rather tall, and, despite his age, his job keeps him very fit. He works out on his days off.

Personality traits: Kayla is a quiet child. She doesn't have much energy, so she just spends most part of the time sleeping or watching cartoons. She's sweet and thoughtful, and she's also very sensitive. Even though she's very brave to face her own problems, she always cries when she sees that a loved one is sad or upset.

Any odd quirks: When she is in physical pain, she doesn't cry or scream. She just closes her eyes, not moving a muscle, and stays like this until someone notices what's going on. When her pain is emotional, though, she cries and yells like baby.

Background: Since Kayla was born, her parents could see that something was off. She cried all the time, she was always tired and always getting sick. But when she was 3, it all got suddenly much worse. Her parents took her to the local hospital, and she was diagnosed with a terminal illness. The doctors said she only had a few more months to live. However, thanks to alternative medicine, she got to the age of 6. She needs a wheelchair for locomotion and uses a respiratory device to breath, but that doesn't stop her from being a normal kid, with friends and dreams.

Personality Monica, true to her blithe appearance, is a very loving and caring individual. At first meeting, she can be quite stand-offish and timid, but the more she interacts with someone, the more she's shown to be a very pleasant person. She tries to be calm and collected, but sometimes, her emotions just get the better of her; she doesn't exactly 'explode' when she's angry, but she is invariably in an irritable state during these moods. She tries her best not to snap at anyone, especially her husband and children, but if she just can't help it, she'll profusely apologize afterward. She doesn't get sad easily, as she's a very strong-willed person due to her life experiences and only having a male role model (more on that later), but if she does, she usually just tries to hide it until her sadness goes away on its own. She's not very strict in her parenting, but she most definitely knows how to put her foot down, not afraid to issue groundings (or time-outs in the case of her younger kids). She tries her best to be 'up with the times', trying to figure out the latest 'memes' and such so she can relate to her kids. She usually fails, oftentimes referencing old memes and only talking about animal videos to her kids: 'I mean, how adorable!' is her go-to phrase. She's a very affectionate person, always trying to show her love to her husband and kids at any chance possible. She tends to spoil them, something she does mindlessly until she realizes she's gone a bit too far with buying things for her kids- sometimes, her kids will even have to point it out to her. She's also very protective of her precious children, a simple scrape on the knee sometimes sending her into an absolute panic- she's toned down her protective nature, but it can still be overbearing. A prominent incident was when Ellie coughed a few times and she had a full-on mental breakdown, thinking her kid was sick. Overall, Monica is not much more than a kind and caring mother who only wants the best for her children- she strives to treat her kids like her father treated her: with respect and love.
Quirks

• Monica barely has any of her nails left because of the fact she bites on them so much. It doesn't matter if she's feeling any emotion strongly or is completely calm, she'll still bite into her nails like they're a teething ring for babies. It's a bit concerning,
• Monica has an obsessive personality- if she finds something she enjoys, she'll talk about it nonstop. As an example, once she listened to Hamilton, she played it in the car all the time (to the annoyance of her family) and wouldn't stop saying how great it was. This is why absolutely no-one lets her use Netflix unsupervised. Too many possible obsessions.
• Monica can mimic individuals' voices very well. She can even do the voices of her kids. She's better at female voices and tones, obviously, but she can do quite well when it comes to the voices of males.
• Monica has been wearing a friendship bracelet her best friend Haley gave her in third grade for ages. She seems to have an emotional attachment to it, seeing as she and Haley were best friends until their freshman year of high school when they had a falling out over which groups they were in- Haley being pegged with the popular kids and Monica with the nerds- and ended their friendship.

Background Monica's mother died of leukemia shortly after her birth, leaving her alone with her father. As a result of her mother's death, her father began drinking, which made the first five years of her life a bit of a hardship- not a living hell, but not easy, either. Then, one day, her father had a wakeup call when a six-year-old Monica asked 'Daddy, why do you drink so much?'- a blunt question, but it made her dad realize the drinking couldn't be healthy for him or his daughter, so he quit. He managed to get his life together, getting a stable job at a law firm. After he quit his awful habit, he tried to be the best father he could: he gave her everything she wanted, and Monica absolutely adored him. When Monica went off to college in New York for her Journalism degree, it was heartbreaking for both of them, but they made it without seeing each other physically for four years while Monica got her Bachelor's degree. A year before she graduated, she met her ex-husband. They got married after a year, a huge mistake on the naive 22-year-old's part. Her then-husband was abusive to her once they got married. He never laid a hand on her but broke her self esteem. Finally, she divorced him when she was 25. It took her a while to trust herself to date anyone after three years of emotional torture, but she met her now-husband on a dating app when she was thirty, five years after the divorce. She was surprised someone could be so nice- after all, she was used to bad people, having been on the market for a few years and having bad luck with everyone she dated- but, hey, she wasn't complaining. After all, she'd finally found someone who truly loved her.

It was one of the few times she chose to do something for herself compared to normally doing everything to please others. After that she met her current girlfriend is happily in love.

Background: Miela spent half of her childhood in the foster care system and those years taught him more than enough of the world and the people in it. She knew to always stay wary and keep close anything he deemed theirs. She doesn't quite remember what reason she was in foster care for besides it had to with her mother who was a street junkie last she checked and her father whom she didn't know but knew her mother was still with him though unwillingly so. Along the maze that is the state system she learned how to rely on herself and on her intelligence to stay as far from danger as possible (though it doesn't always work). Trauma and panic attacks were already apart of her life when Matias adopted her at the age of 10. She's had it rough but Matias and his partner helped her slowly gain her sense of self instead of allowing the constant wary worry that filled her when she entered a new home to drown out the options of settling with the family. She is much happier than she was and that is the biggest change to cope with for her. She has a very good relationship with Matias since she had known him longer than just becoming his child as she'd known him as a social worker before. Matias' partner and her are still a bit rocky even after 5 years though they can socialize moderately well. She wasn't sure what exactly made them so prickly with each other but it might have been the oppressive silence she can bring into a room by entering or the way her eyes saw a lot more than most would think and her mind was like a steel trap.
After entering a conversation with Miela its quickly understood that she has little experience with socializing with people outside her family and that she is very smart.

Background: Angus was 17 when he moved to the land of the free in search of a different way to live than he was used to in Inverness, Scottland. He had every intention of going to University but first he wanted to get a good understanding of his new home. He spent his first year touring the country in an old VW (Volkswagon you plebeians)bus that kinda reminded him of Scooby door's mystery machine; this is where he learned guitar. While on the road he met his first wife Katia Moore a wild warm and fun loving woman. She never took things seriously which did irk him because she had a tendency to get into trouble and laugh it off when he would bail her out but he admitted he did find her refreshing and slowly fell in love with her. They toured together for 8 months before he settled with her in Boston. Surprisingly she signed with the same University as him, his major was Computer Science Engineering and his minor was computer programming while Katia majored in Music. It wasn't long after a year when they found out she was pregnant. He was ecstatic when he found out and couldn't wait to have his first bairn. He got a job at a high end restaurant as a small time chef and she worked at an old style music shop. He preferred she stayed with an somewhat easy job and liked that he could visit her between his job and school; enjoying her company with great music and equally great food. They married traditionally in Scotland overlooking the loch-ness on the highland bluffs. However as we know all good things must come to an end and their ending was somewhat of a train wreck.

He loved her and his bairn more than he could say but she was antsy in their home. The longer the pregnancy went on the more he could see the restraints of reality, of life, catch up to her. She had never been a fan of facing reality. The first hurdle was the premature birth of Areka his first girl. They had been terrified of the consequences of a preemie bairn, the situation at the hospital had been dire. They hadn't known why she was going through labor two months early but found out after Areka was born. It turned out they were having twins! One baby had kicked the other out and that had been the reason, the doctors had been able to stop the second bairn from being delivered so she could carry to full term. Helping take care of Areka, working a high paying but also high maintenance job and going to school was hard on him but he made it through okay. Two and a half months later and Evey was born! He's not sure he could have ever felt happier than the day and night his daughters were born.

Fast forward 3 years, he is working on a bachelors degree in computer science an is working a programming gig with a start up company instead of the elegant restaurant. Areka and Evey are 2 1/2...ish, and Katia has begun her partying ways anew. He didn't mind her having a cool down time at all and had faith she wasn't cheating but her fun was beginning to overshadow her responsibilities. He tried to give her time to get it out of her system but when it didn't look like she would slow down he gave her an ultimatum. Them, their family, their future and happiness or her partying and wild fun. The custody battle that ensued after the divorce was hard. More hard on him than most would have thought, being of traditional upbringing marriage was a sacred vow that one shouldn't cut lightly but he had no interest in watching the woman he loved neglect their children and him. He tried to find alternatives but in the end she served him the papers and he fought tooth and nail to keep his girls together with him. It was for naught as the judge ruled one and one. They went their separate ways; he moved to Seattle for a job, She had Areka and he had Brianne and though he had a hole in his heart where his Areka belonged he wouldn't let his sorrow influence Evey. He did his best to care for her in the most cheerful and upbeat way possible. He never forgot his wee bairn that had looked at him with strong willed eyes that carried the fight of a scot in them and often sent letters, even despite knowing she wasn't old enough to read. Most of them came back to him either from Katia or from the post office. He tried calling but Katia never answered and then changed her number and moved addresses.

Evey was 6 when he met Emory, she was temporarily stationed in a base nearby. She was different than Katia. She was strong and precise, like a blade made particularly well,balanced and well oiled but she wasn't severe. She could still tease and play, having a good time without going crazy. And he seemed to fall in love again but differently. He knew she was the right one when near two years of dating Evey had slipped and called her mommy.

Background: Emory Silvers is a woman who is in control and on top of things. She was taught since she was born that the military was the place for her whether she wanted it or not. Her father had been a hard man that held authority close to his breast. Having been in the military himself he had fashioned their household into a boot camp and no one went against his law or else they would pay severely for it. It was only her father and her older sister besides herself, her mother died giving birth to her. Her sister often recalls with a wistful face full of longing the days of when their mother was alive and how their father had been a kinder gentler man. She couldn't quite see her father being anything other than a hard ass but she hadn't been alive then so who knows.

It was apparent to her from an early age that her father hadn't really wanted her. Not that he didn't love his daughter just that he had really wanted Emory to be a boy. She suspected it when at 12 years old her sister dressed her up in a fairy princess gown and her father had gone into a rage. Shouting and screaming wasn't unusual to either of them but the specifics he pointed out was "No Military Man is going to wear dresses in my house." When she had gone to point out she wasn't a male at all he had gotten beside himself in hysterics. That statement was the reason he negotiated with old buddies of hers to get her into an official youth boot camp program for troubled teens. She hadn't been a troubled teen but her father said getting to see real nasty pieces of work, having to fight real people with problems and simulating the actual military would help toughen her up and teach her a lesson. Basically boot camp became her new home. She almost hated to admit it but her father had been right. It had been extremely difficult to go about her days in training with the same nonchalance she had at home. Slowly over the course of two years she came back not quite a completely different person but she wasn't the same either. She saw more and was always wary from her experiences in the camp. She from then followed her fathers orders much better than before. She went on to join the military much to the dismay of Amora who had always wanted her sister to not take their father so seriously. In the military she soared through the ranks thanks to her fathers early preparation of this day. It was still tough, being female and initially more prepared than the rest of her class she had more than her fair share of hardships.

Tends to sleep in horrendously despite what time she went to bed, can sleep in just about any position, likes Vegemite on toast with yogurt for breakfast (<—— will only eat this for her morning routine most days), hates caffeine but loves coffee (although she can't drink that 'right' now haha), fidgets with her left hands fingers when nervous or lying, puffs out her cheeks when focusing on something.

Optional background:
Areka, or rather Rii as her mother called her was from her fathers previous relationship, second baby from twins.
