There and back again.

Awe! Thanks! I'll take care of it soon! By the way, are you going to let your feminine side shine too? ( :P )

Glimmers food catches fire, burning her hand and arm. Slowly, the fire burns her completely until she was one with nothingness.

Sorry, hadn't seen this message.

Not this time, Paton and Toxin are enough for me....for now. If something happens I might indulge in a little feminine fun :) .

So, just to explain combat (because we're getting to that stage), we're going to use the dice. So you click on the dice and roll 1 dice with 100 faces (I'll tell you if any side has the modifier). When done, highest score of the two rolls wins.

Generally:

·Anything under 10 is a critical failure, so you not only fail to, lets say, swing your sword, but you would accidentally throw it away when you try to swing it.

·Anything over 90 is a critical success, so if you were casting a spell it would be twice as powerful.

·If one person gets a critical failure and the other a critical success, then it's essentially game over for the looser.

·GM (me, but in bold) will play the things we fight against and roll for them.

·Link your roll to your post.

I think that covers it, any questions?

And now for the combat shit.

So, as quickly as possible:

Mana has a starting pool of x that recharges at y mana per non combat turn.

If you wanted to cast a basic fireball, it would be 10 mana. You can change attack size in 2 ways: mana in cast or channeling.

Mana in cast means you cast a big fireball of, lets say, 90 mana, and with a 1 mana cost per 10 mana instacast, it would cost you 99 mana.

If you channeled it, you could do it at a rate that changes per player per turn, but a fireball with 90 mana channeled into it would be 1.5 times bigger than the insta casted one.

You still need to roll to hit, but the bigger the attack, the more likely it is to hit.

Campfires or sleeping regenerates your mana back to full. As would you being knocked out and being reawoken.

Archers is a little similar. The longer you aim a shot, the higher the chance of it hitting (depends on archers, distance and elevation).

Hand to hand combat is simple: light strikes are instant, blocks are too, but a c¡heavy hit takes a turn to charge, but no cost.

An attack ends your turn, then the enemy reacts, then you get to react to them in your turn. You can't cast 6 fireballs in one turn (yet), it would take you 6 turns to cast 6 fireballs, or alternatively 6 large insta fireballs for a high price or just 1 large fireball charged for 6 turns. I could talk about spells, but I'll see what you come up with.

So, lets say Glimmer has a starting Mana pool of 250, ok?

And sorry for being a dictator about the rules, but I've found it's more fun when there's a little stress in combat.

Moon ran at the Ent and swung his sword at the branch.

Glimmer let out a small scream as Paton fell in the stream and Toxin was thrown into the side of the bridge. "Toxin, are you okay?" She asked, trying to get closer to him without being within hitting range of the Ent.
If you could roll 1 dice at a time as otherwise we're using different systems.

Okay, I will try to figure out how to change that. :)
Well, you can edit the post by pressing the Edit button or if you meant the roll jsut do a new one and change the ''Roll a total of die'' to 1.

2 things guys and girls:

1) @Reaper\.44 can you play the smuggler?

2) Do you two want to go up against Smaug as you know him, or a different version?

If you want the other version, pick a number between 1-16 (there is a list of other possibilities and I'll choose the 'best' between your two numbers).

Sure I can play the smuggler no problem. And Talvin never met Smaug in his life, but I dont know, maybe Smaug peeks a small interest in the sword? Wants it for his collection or something? Well anyway I leave that in your hands :P

ok umm... 4

Well, ''Smaug'' will probably be wanting to kill him for trying to take his gold from him (Smaug being the dragon). Also, 4 is a terrible/great choice. Terrible for characters, great for a challenge.
I'll DM the mercinaries, anything after the camp is up to you if you want
Don't worry, I have something planned for after/during the smuggling, just thought you would prefer to DM this part.

@Reaper\.44
((Ok, gonna need some help with the dice rolling, but I'll try to roll along with it.))
It's simple:

Talvin rolles to attack (any kind of attack).

A bow shot can gain aim per turn it is aimed for (+5 per turn).

Sword swings and the like are just rolls to connect.

So, rolling works like this:

I roll to punch you, and I roll a 50.

If you decide to dodge and roll 60, you dodge.

If you roll below, the dodge fails and I hit you.

If you rolled 80 or more, you get a critical success, so you would dodge and probably hit me.

If you rolled 20 or less, its a critical failure, so you would jump into my fist then fall on the ground, dizzy.

If you attack with a critical failure you have two choices:

1) Fail yourself: your character punches the ground or something.

2) Let them roll: hope they get a worse roll than you. If they do, you win and they get hit. If they don't, you lose and they dodge. If they roll a critical success, then it's an instant kill/disarm/your fucked.

As for attacking and defending, if your character can, you can roll to defend from a strike, if not you have to take it.

Then, if you dodged it successfully, you can follow up with an attack.

Magic is, generally, a little more complicated.
Ok but how do I roll in general on this?
Use the dice supplied by the site. Should be up at the top of the page.

You go to the dice, click roll, you then want to:

roll 1 die with 100 faces (and if you have +x you can add that to the roll at the bottom.

Paton/Ulmo: Middle-Earths god of water.

Toxin: Middle-Earths god of cheesy goodbyes.

@Reaper\.44 , you get to decide where they are just FYI.

@Reaper\.44 If they go to Angmar do you wanna tie over G/DMing again?

I don't mind, but if you might have something in mind.

As much as I want to, I'm a bit pressed for time.

Just to let you guys know, tomorrow European time I'll be on holiday for about 3 days. The hotel wont have internet in the rooms and wifi might be a bitch. That said, at some point, I'll have my character go off doing something important and join up again in a fray or something. CAP, I think you do a better job at DMing than I do. I'll let you know when exactly I'll head off
