Fantasy The Zodiac Princess(One Character Available)

Hello, RPNation. I'm not sure if any of you know but NaNoWriMo, a national writing event, is coming up in November. The story that I picked is called the Zodiac Princess. While I will be planning it myself and writing and such and prepping for November, I decided to try making it into a roleplay. I will be listing the plot and characters below and if you would be interested in the roleplay, please inform me so.

In the beginning there were only the gods. When they gods decided to make humans, they realized that the humans were vulnerable and needed protectors, guardians that would make it their duty to watch over them. This led to the creation of the twelve Zodiac Guardians: Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius. They took the form of humans imbued with special abilities. Due to their many different personalities, however, they were unpredictable.


Upon noticing this the gods imbued a human girl with special powers to help guide the Zodiacs in their mission. She was given the title of the Zodiac Princess. Her name was Andromeda and she was kind, caring, and very beautiful. She took great care of the Zodiacs and helped guide them on their path.


Over time, however, some of the Zodiacs began to get tired of helping the humans, thinking them beneath them and wishing to rule them instead. This lead to a great argument and one day, the Zodiacs who hated the humans left the others and the Princess.


They emerged years later, more powerful than before, due to their descent into darkness, led by the Scorpio. They attacked the temple where the Zodiacs stayed and a long, dangerous, and bloody battle ensued. In the end of the battle, the Zodiac Princess was killed, her loyal Zodiac Warriors unable to keep her safe. The evil Zodiacs left the others to mourn the loss of the Princess, unable to kill each other, as per the gods wishes.


The gods, having been unable to intervene with the battle, were able to save the Princess’s soul before it perished, bestowing it to another mortal who would be the next Zodiac, though it was never made clear when she would be born.



In Present Day Oakland, California, a young girl is turning 18 on her first day of senior year. Little does she know that she is now emitting a magical energy that both the good and the evil zodiacs can sense. The only question is of who will reach her first.

Hmm I've never played someone inherently evil before, but I shall start now! Can I be Scorpio? :3

This sounds really cool but some of the evil zodiacs don't line up.  For example Cancer and Sagittarius.  Cancers are described as one of the most compassionate and kindhearted signs.  They tend to not like conflict and are almost loyal to a fault.  Sagittariuses tend to act more on whims and will do anything as long as it benefits themselves.  I don't mean to be a critic but I think you should read up on the signs a bit more before splitting them up between good and evil.  Here is a link to a site that describes the signs pretty well which may or may not help you.  Besides that tid bit I really enjoy the idea and would love to join.

I researched them a lot for my initial story and there is a reason for what I did as far as that aspect but for the rp I'm not gonna worry as much. If anyone ends up wanting their characters to change sides and what not they can. I mainly did the rp for fun.

I think it's not really possible to objectively classify a sign as good or evil, since it's really down to the individual character how the traits are manifested. Being self sacrificing doesn't always make a person good, and being self serving doesn't always make them bad.


For instance, an "evil" cancer might be someone who resents being the helpful one, looking down on people who take care of their own needs as being selfish people. Self interest is intrinsic to human nature, so I could see the character having more admiration for their fellow zodiacs. This character would likely avoid direct conflict, but that doesn't stop them from being capable of silently judging and condescending to those who disagree with them. And loyalty as well can play into them allying themselves with a particular side. Perhaps the character would consider their loyalty owed to other zodiacs and not to the humans. They might firmly believe that they're doing the right thing in ensuring happiness and freedom for their fellow zodiacs. The character may have very noble intentions and be very caring of their fellow zodiacs, but this can function as a justification for being "evil".


On the flip side, a "good" Sagittarius is entirely plausible as well. They may be independent and do what they want, but may also consider everyone to have that same right (including humans). I'd imagine they might respect the evil side, but find that the good side is objectively more justified. Freedom is not just defying the role laid out. Rather, it must include the option to follow it if that's the better option, and perhaps Sagittarius considers this option to be the one they'd rather do. They're a philosophic sign, and may find humans objectively interesting. Or perhaps the curious nature of their personality leads them to want to learn more about humans, making their motivation in helping somewhat self serving. They're not a particularly emotional sign, but that may just mean that after weighing the points of the two sides, they reach a logical conclusion and simply don't agree that there's reason to feel resentment towards humans. Perhaps after analyzing the situation, Sagittarius decides that serving someone doesn't inherently make one "less than" those who one serves, which would make the gripe of the "evil" zodiacs baseless. Thus, this may have led them to decide that they prefer to take the side of the "good" zodiacs. Or perhaps they feel they should be protecting humans and their rights to live freely, feeling that as a more powerful being it's the objectively responsible thing to be doing.


Essentially, it can be played either way. Any sign had the potentially for good or evil. For maintaining the status quo or defying it. Thus, assigning signs to sides is both arbitrary and meaningful. There's no right or wrong answer to what side they'd be on, but a good case can be made either way regardless of that.


Just in case my ridiculous rant didn't make it clear, I'm very interested in joining in :P I would like to play Capricorn if possible, but if someone else really wants it, I don't mind playing one of the other signs instead.

here's an idea for the plot, possibly a conflict between the two groups, but then the reincarnated princess realizing there's something even worse to fight against but she needs all of the zodiac to be on her side to beat them. Reminder, it's only an idea.

you sure about that? i'm fairly confident it's not taken, but only referenced to from points regarding if something is good or bad.

As Goldn said, Leo is the only one available as the person who had it dropped it. and yeah I haven't updated this x.x I need to.
 
alright, i'll take it, i gotta do some extra research then...
