  • The world is your stage-
    Own it

Eight countries, eight slots, hundreds of hopefuls. Back in January, X-Change Entertainment announced the competition of the century--a survival show, โ€œE2โ€. Unlike other survival shows, this one would have trainees from all around the world, causing it to be dubbed the โ€œbattle of the countriesโ€ show. X-Change hosted auditions in the USA, UK, Australia, Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand and Canada. Thousands of hopeful trainees showed up to each audition and after an intensive callback and selection process, the chosen eight were announced.

However, not everything is as it seems. For one, well, the male and female trainees just donโ€™t get along. While they may appear as best friends on camera, there is a lot of bitterness when the cameras are off. But then a discovery is made that may cause them to put the dislike behind and unite around a common cause. Somehow, they find out that the show is rigged and that the girls were set to win from the start. Even though they donโ€™t see eye to eye with the boys, the girls know that this is unfair. Now theyโ€™re faced with a dilemma; do they announce it publicly in hopes that it will be changed, or just keep quiet?

    How it Works

Even though it is a survival show, the majority of it will be broadcasted like a reality show. It will start as the trainees arrive, move into their respective dorms and meet the rest of the group. The first few weeks of the show will mainly be bonding activities for the trainees to get to know each other before delving deep into the idol world.

After those few weeks, idol training begins. The four girls will begin to train as the pre-debut group called E2G, while the four boys will begin to train as the pre-debut group, E2B. They will have 6 months of intense training (vocal and dance) before a potential debut. Up first is cover songs. The groups will begin by learning the lyrics to their respective cover songs, recording them, learning the choreography for the song, and then performing it on the stage that will be at the end of each episode. At the end of each episode, they will receive points on their performance from various guest judges.

By month three, the groups will be done with cover songs. By this point, theyโ€™ll start to write their own song, record the original songs, create their own choreography with a professional choreographer, train train train. They will then perform their original song live on TV and at the end of that performance, the winner of E2 will be announced and that group will get to debut while the other will be disbanded.

RYEOWOON

Okay, Ryeowoon thought as he began to crack the joints in his fingers and neck, time to focus. Focus on what? Well, this paintball laser tag game. To him, it was a life or death situation, a must win. If his team didn't win, he'd probably die from embarrassment. So yes, he'd do absolutely everything in his power to win.

It was himself and Benji as the only E2B members on this team, the others were E2G. Somehow, somehow, he'd ended up on Ana's team. How? He didn't really know, considering the two would rather jump off cliffs than be in each others presence for longer than five minutes. Yet she picked him, so here they were.

But honestly, he was secretly glad to be on Ana's team. Even though they were enemies, at least he wasn't on Guang-Li's team. The oldest E2B member looked absolutely heartbroken when Benji was chosen for the other team and just then decided, like the brat he was, that he would do anything to be chosen for the other team.

Anything to get away from Guang-Li. What kind of "mother" leader plays or picks favorites amongst their child members? That's right. None. Some kind of mother he was. Ryeowoon all but marched over to the other team when Ana chose him.

Fast forward twenty minutes.

The game had started and so far, it seemed as if no one was anywhere close to winning. His own team had two of the other teams balloons, the other team had two of their balloons, and both teams still had their big balloons. Each player had already been hit and had to recharge many times. No one was winning, no one was at an advantage.

Ryeo was currently in the blow up bouncy castle obstacle thing. Well, on top of it would be a better statement. When the game started, he climbed right on up and situated himself between two of the blow-up folds, completely hidden from view. Good spot.

Every now and then, he'd lift his head up and shoot at members of the opposite team who tried to cross to their side using the blow up obstacle, picking them off one by one. But mainly, he spent his time dozing off.

Yes, he absolutely loved laser tag and paintball, but he was absolutely exhausted from his recording project that took pretty much all night to complete. Now, he found himself out of harms way and laying on a pretty comfy thing. Why not take a nap?

| Hello, I'm Mi-Sun Brooks...Uh....I mean uh, Sunny. It's a pleasure to meet you! |
JfVZlNc.gif

Mi-Sun was more than a bit nervous. There were camera people all over the place, which in all honestly wasn't too bad, at least she didn't have to talk to them, it was the other five people in front of where she stood, even if she was standing was a good distance away from them.

The game actually seemed really fun and really the girl was super excited to play but less so that she was going to do with so many strangers. It was easy to just sit in the back and keep to herself, hiding in plain sight. It's not like she didn't want to be seen, in fact, she really wished people would notice her. It was simply that being noticeable meant interaction, which was terrifying. It was so difficult to talk and when she did, Mi-Sun's voice would barely come out in a whisper. If someone were to approach her, it would be so much easier. Not any less scary but pro-action on her part felt nearly impossible. Being on stage or video had never given her any issues, if Mi-Sun were at the store, the most minimum verbal communication would be used but she could buy her things and interact with staff fairly normally. Other customers too or just being in public was alright, she simply kept to herself. Problems only arose when she had to talk to someone on a personal level. Getting used to people she could hold a conversation with took a while and it was unthinkable that she would initiate contact.

When they were discussing the game plan Mi-Sun listened intently, the whole thing reminded her of a video game, which only increased her internal excitement. It was when she realized they were all looking at her, having asked if she would like to carry the balloon, being the smallest. All she could do was shake her head in response and very quietly "I'd like to be a runner please..." Which she had to repeat once they all quieted down. Being small and quite fast was an advantage when it came to taking the other team's balloons, while also letting her essentially operate on her own. Holding the main balloon would only make her a target, a kind of attention she certainly didn't want. Lucky for her most people usually understood her apprehensive nature by her mannerisms alone and adapted to it. Letting her stay in the back, giving her silence so her voice could be heard, making sure others didn't approach her without warning. It was obvious how she reacted to social situations, so accommodations were often made for her sake.

Mi-Sun was grateful when people looked out for her, but she wished they'd talk to her instead making sure no one...Well, talked to her. She could overcome these anxieties and phobias if she had someone to help her through it all. With some guidance and assistance, she could make friends so much easier as it only took one person to approach her and break the ice for her with everyone else. That usually wasn't the case, instead, everyone just learned to leave her alone which was so frustratingly conflicting as it respected her anxiety but did nothing to quell it either.

__ __ __ __

Dashing forward Mi-Sun had her weapon in hand but wasn't focused on using it, for now, rather making a daring rush to the enemy base, grab and balloon and make it back before they knew what happened. She would have preferred stealth but in a game like this people were on high alert, which she used as an advantage. Standing far in the back, waiting for someone to shout or reveal their location which would take attention to that part of the area, which she would move to the opposite side from and sprint to the other side. This tactic seemed to work for the first three runs but they were going to catch on so she stopped and started firing from behind one barricade before switching every minute in an effort to keep her location from being too consistent.

After a while, it seemed like the sniper in the bouncy castle had left, giving her another chance to start running for balloons of which she had successfully collected her fourth, but on the fifth run, the small girl nearly tackled someone didn't recognize from the other team but didn't know their name. It startled her so much that she stopped in her tracks and dropped the balloon, somewhat as a distraction so she could get away from the unfamiliar face more than to not get shot. Though the path she took was one she had been trying to avoid, right into the center of the arena, where there was more likely to be more people. She simply wanted to make it back to their base, as to her it was the most comfortable place to be.

Mi-Sun found herself heading directly to the bouncy castle and dove into it at a rather high speed which caused her to tumble slightly inside, causing the structure to ripple and sway. The force of her bouncing through the structure wasn't too great as she was rather light, but the motion was enough to disorient her quite a bit. To take a breather the girl crawled her way to a small corner while was surrounded by wobbly pillars that came out of the floor, using her small frame to hide amongst them, holding out her weapon in case someone were to come by, but if she were lucky they wouldn't see her. Mi-Sun decided to stay there for the rest of the game if she could as staying still lowered her adrenaline and the tiredness from running back and forth on top of the hours of dancing she did the night prior began to take a toll on her.

Guangli

Today had been an interesting turn of events. Instead of spending the day in the practice room or recording booth, the groups were called down by the producers to go through some game. Guangli was a little less than excited to play. Sure, it was nice for the boys to have a break from working so hard, but they were forced to spend time with E2G which wasn't his personal faviorte pass time. Not all the girls were bad, it's just that Ana and him had a rather tense relationship and Guangli wasn't the type to be happy in the presence of people who hated him.

Whatever. At least they didn't have to be on the same team as they were both picked as group leaders to pick who'd be on their side. There was a coin toss and he was given the chance to claim which side. He decided on heads for no particular reason, but luck was apparently in his favor today. He was to pick first from the remaining E2G members. Pd had explained they wanted co-ed teams so they'd take turns going back and forth. He picked Ava, for rather obvious reasons. She was brave, a bit crazy, but would be a great person to have on your team. He wanted to win, and so he picked according to that notion.

Ana's first turn she picked someone he didn't expect. She picked Benji. The surprise, as well as the slight disappointment that they'd be separated, showed on his face as the younger member joined her side. Guangli promptly turned to the remaining E2B members to pick the next teammate. He noted the sour face that Ryeo gave him as he tried to decide. He'd have to ask what that was about later. The leader decided to go with Ronen next. Ana's next pick was Hazel, and so on and so forth.

Then they were left to make a game plan. The whole thing was relatively simple. Each team had balloons on either side and the goal was to get as many as the opposite team's balloons as possible while avoiding gun fire. There was a very large balloon that was supposed to be tied to someone's waist. They had talked for a few moments among the team on who would be the one to wear it. They tossed up the idea of it being Akari, but she didn't seem convinced. That was when someone (ahem probably Ava) decided to poke fun at his height and say he was definitely small and agile enough for that role. After a very unamused look, he agreed.

And thus the two teams were off. Up until this point he was playing defense closer to where all their balloons were. Guangli was using the different half walls and obstacles as cover. He had found out that he had a rather....bad aim. He was doing stunningly with dodging. He wasn't afraid to roll, jump, or slide out of the way. Thank a decade of martial arts training for that. When it came to shooting the others he was rather lacking in his ability to shoot long range. At least they had only gotten two balloons thus far and he had evaded their attempts to take the awkwardly large balloon he was tied to.

Li popped his head up from the half wall to check to make sure no one was coming. He noticed that Ronen was on his way back to recharge his gun. That was when he had an idea. "Ronen-ah!" He called from kneeling position from his hiding spot. Guangli had the string of the balloon held down with his knee so that he could actually hide rather than the gigantic thing giving his spot away. The younger member looked over at him and came to crouch down beside him. "Let's go together. I'll cover you while to go over to their side. I'm pretty sure that Ryeo is still up there. If he pokes his head out maybe we can knock him off," He leader explained his game plan. He was rather tired of just standing in the back on his own. Here was to hoping this didn't backfire on them.

  • ana thinks...

haha but also prepare to die

ana

while ana herself would have much preferred to get another day of practice in, a single look at the other girls told her it was a much-needed break for the others. it wasn't all bad, she supposed, considering she'd be able to completely dunk on guangli in the process. it wasn't like she hated him, but ana had a feeling it would be a satisfying victory.

at this point though, ana had no clue how much closer they were to victory. she'd spent the past ten minutes or so wandering about the course as discreetly as possible, looking for anyone to jump, but it seemed like a ghost town in the areas she'd searched. it sounded unfortunate, but her ineptitude with shooting would've likely been her downfall if she'd run into anyone from the enemy team. ana'd passed sunny and hazel a few times, the former having already made several trips back and forth with balloons. she was scurrying about like a mouse, which wasn't far off from her usual demeanour, a trait that ana found both funny and endearing. sunny hurried off quickly after their brief conversation, and ana had carried on with her leisurely stroll, one hand curled around the string of her balloon and walking it around like a floating pet dog.

turning a corner, her eyes landed square on a familiar figure just ahead, and ana swiftly back-tracked and studied her from the safety of her corner, despite it being unlikely ava would be turning around anytime soon. the australian's gaze was elsewhere, though ana couldn't quite figure out what exactly her attention was on. she was fine not knowing, however, if it meant she'd be able to creep up and get a good shot on her. she'd need time to line it up properly, and with a quick check of both sides, she emerged from her hiding place and took aim. the finger resting on the trigger had just been about to press down hard when an almost too recognisable drawl came from somewhere behind her. ana whipped around quickly to catch cal's shadow approaching from a corridor a way's away, turning back just in time to catch the exact moment surprise and recognition crossed ava's features.
"ah. have you seen anyone?"
she quipped, in a half-hearted attempt to distract her, before firing. a moment's worth of bated breath, only for ava's headband to, sadly, remain very much turned off.

ava nodded. "good try."

"thanks."
there was a surreal moment of silence before ana broke off into a mad sprint through the field of obstacles on her right, leaping deftly over a shorter half-wall successfully but getting smacked in the face by her massive pet balloon in the process. she made a noise of irritation as she wound the string around her wrist with graceful ease, all the while still maintaining her pace. from behind her, ana could hear her groupmate's resounding cry for calum to give chase, a helpful auditory indicator of how close by she was. she didn't dare hazard a glance behind her, though, by the extra smattering of footsteps that was steadily growing louder, it seemed cal had listened obediently. was calum a fast runner? seemed so.

a brief survey of her current surroundings set her next action. lose them in the most maze-like part of the course that she'd thoroughly wandered through earlier, and if she was lucky, get a shot on ava and slip away untouched. on hindsight, it probably wasn't the brightest idea to head that far into enemy territory with the target she was carrying around on a string, but it was too late for that now. her thoughts were interrupted by ava's voice ringing through the course again. "go, boy, go!" was cal her dog? ana failed to stifle the laugh that came with the revelation, allowing her concentration to slip momentarily. the string of her balloon caught on the rough corner of a half-wall, and she stumbled, finally glancing back to find the american boy gaining on her quickly. well, there was no harm trying, right?

"stop!"
she barked, raising a single hand out. callum obeyed almost comically promptly, and ana had to make an effort to prevent herself from descending into a fit of giggles, managing to reduce it to a beaming smile as she stared at his confused, puppy-like expression. with a wave, she took off again, letting out a sharp laugh upon hearing an indignant "hey!" followed by what had to be ava chewing his ear off for being silly. it was enough playing around, though, as she finally entered the area littered with corners and obstacles. an extra burst of speed as she wound through the twisting corridors and ana was confident she'd get a moment to catch her breath. now, it was just a matter of waiting for them to catch up.

The only thing Ronen got out of this game was a reminder that he had spectacularly bad aim.

Ronen had spent the entirety of the game so far huddled behind a structure, raising his gun and firing in the general range of any enemy team members that came into his vicinity. Ideally, he would've been an undetectable sniper, taking out the other team before they knew it; like high blood pressure or something -- a silent killer. But ideals were always impossible to achieve, and in reality, Ronen was fairly sure that he would barely be able to hit an unmoving target at point-blank, much less moving people. He wasn't too ashamed about it -- Ronen had accepted long ago that his hand-eye coordination was utter shit -- but it was pretty embarrassing to have his drastic failures filmed for all to see.

Calum's American -- maybe he's doing a better job. Ronen huffed out a dry laugh under his breath. He had caught sight of Guangli for a brief moment, and in terms of skill, the oldest member and Ronen were faint imitations of each other. He was pretty sure Ava was doing just fine. Ronen wasn't certain about Akari, but it wouldn't surprise him if she was somehow in the same boat as him.

Ronen had little desire to be in the sports arena, playing some strange hybrid of paintball and capture the flag. He was never one for activities that fell under the traditional definition of a sport (he sure as hell knew that dance didn't) and it showed. Ronen had also, once again, burnt the midnight oil the previous night at the studio -- there was a heavy layer of concealer swathed underneath his eyes -- and while he wasn't that drained, it wasn't pleasant to be hit with a vigorous activity right after a sleepless night. Nonetheless, the show was important to him -- it was perhaps the most important thing of his life -- and even if it pained him, Ronen tried to put his best foot forward and contribute in some way to everything the show made him do.

Some things were far more preferable than others, however.

Ronen shuffled back to recharge his gun, holding back a heavy sigh. There honestly didn't seem to be a point to his aimless shooting -- Ronen would probably only hit his target once in a blue moon, and that wasn't enough to send anyone from the opposite team back to their side.

"Ronen-ah!" Ronen glanced up when he heard Guangli call his name, his features relaxing into a faint smile. He liked Guangli -- the older man was kind and compassionate, even if he was a little overbearing at times. Guangli vaguely reminded Ronen of his brother, despite the fact that he and Aria were nothing alike.

"Let's go together. I'll cover you while you go over to their side. I'm pretty sure that Ryeo is still up there. If he pokes his head out maybe we can knock him off."

Ronen nodded in response, before pursing his lips. He didn't want to tell Guangli that he had seen how . . . not great the other man was at shooting, in between his own poor attempts at firing at the other team. It looked like the two of them had similar strengths and weaknesses, which probably wouldn't work out well if there was no one who could cover their glaringly poor (at least on Ronen's side) aim.

Nonetheless, it didn't really matter much to Ronen. It was true that he could be fairly competitive about the things he cared about, but this game was firmly not one of them. Besides, if there was even the slightest possibility of Guangli wanting to play the game, then Ronen would have no qualms about humoring him.

Ronen and Guangli dashed towards the opposing side simultaneously, hoping to distract the other team with two targets rather than one. Ronen wasn't the fastest runner, but years of dance experience did wonders for his stamina and agility, while years of spending hours every day with a quick-tempered man, confined in a small room full of metal awards, souvenirs, and knick-knacks, made Ronen no stranger to dodging.

By some miracle, Ronen managed to grab a balloon from the other team without a single shot hitting its mark on his form. Maybe Guangli managed to pull a miracle out of his ass and suddenly became the second Simo Hรคyhรค, or perhaps the other team had worse aim than Ronen expected. Nonetheless, reaching the balloons was only half the journey. As he turned around, Ronen made a mad dash back to his side of the arena, the string of the balloon gripped tightly in his fist. It would be rather anticlimactic if he failed during the final stretch, but Ronen had to admit that he wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

for ava, the laser game was a warm welcome after practically living inside the training rooms for the past few weeks. donโ€™t get her wrong -- this contestant was more than grateful for this opportunity and even more determined to beat the boys every single performance but at some given point - maybe when reality started to transcend into dreams in a way where sheโ€™d wake up midst performing a hand movement of last weekโ€™s performance โ€“ it was time for a well deserved break.

there was a minor dwindle in excitement, however, when ava discovered that this activity would be done in co-ed teams rather than boys versus girls. she didnโ€™t particularly mind the boys, having abandoned most of the inherent dislike towards her rivals once some friendships had blossomed over time, but she could not help but feel slightly disappointed upon having her fantasy of beating their asses alongside her girls crushed by this set up. it also did not help that guangli, anaโ€™s mortal enemy, picked her first, pitting her against her best friend.

alas, her competitive drive conquered the loyalty she held for her fellow group members, and soon enough, she was out there in the field on the offense with cal closely tailing behind her. they had all briefly discussed their strategy before the game commenced, eachโ€™s strengths being highlighted as well as their weaknesses. it quickly became evident that ava was better suited to roam around the site and capture balloons while their leader, being the most important target, ought to stay further back. probably knowing of avaโ€™s penchant for riding high on executing high risk stunts, it was proposed to have a second person watch her six and, if needed, reel her back before she manoeuvred right into someoneโ€™s line of fire. she picked call to fill in that position mainly because he was from the US and thus, from an admittedly stereotypical standpoint, expected him to have some experience in shooting targets.

treading carefully, the contestant trespassed into enemy territory, fingers firmly wrapped around the handle of her laser gun while one rested on the trigger in case a situation called for quick reaction time. her eyes scanned the area in front religiously, heart pounding against her ribcage in an adrenaline fuelled rhythm as the search for targets continued. to her feeling, everything was going pretty well for her team; sheโ€™d managed to seize one balloon and even caught akari channeling some inner power and taking down some opponents. nevertheless, it remained unknown how ronen and guangli were faring in the game, so the real tally remained beyond her knowledge.

avaโ€™s framed halted as a sudden darting movement caught her eyes, though before her vision could discern who it may be, another sound snatched her attention. she turned her head, only to be surprised as the figure of ana infiltrated her sight, gun pointed. her quip brought some humour to the confrontation but it was not enough to pause thought and ava promptly dodged to the side as her opponent fired her shot. it missed her and she nodded in respect of the attempt.

โ€œgood try,โ€ she told ana, who thanked her in return.

a few silence that could almost be dubbed as slightly comical passed between the two, before the leader took off as suddenly as she appeared. at the same time, ava caught sight of the person who was supposed to watch her six. she sent a glare into his way that could be translated into โ€˜you had only one jobโ€™ before issuing a command for him to chase ana alongside her.

โ€œcโ€™mon, go get her!โ€ she shouted as she broke into a sprint herself. it was not that hard to maintain a pace fast enough to keep their target in her field of vision, the built up stamina and agility from the years spent dancing aiding in the chase. nevertheless, knowing her best friend, ana probably had a few tricks up on her sleeve as well to gain the upper hand. it rang in the back of her mind, the thought of slowing down and adopting a different strategy to catch the leader instead of running blindly after her - but as stated before, ava was rarely the rational one in these type of games, and with the nigh-perpetual buzz of adrenaline, that thought was rapidly muffled.

โ€œgo boy, go!โ€
she ushered after cal, almost like an owner calling after her dog. the comparison was not very far from the truth, given the fact that his competence was stilted by a recurrent cluelessness, which in turn, resulted into ava needing to give him orders to be somewhat useful, but she doubted cal liked this portrayal of their roles โ€“ especially since it was to be broadcasted on national television. oh well, he couldnโ€™t argue that it made up for some amusing content. if only, it would boost his viewership right?

unfortunately, ana seemed to have caught onto their little gag, and utilized it as a weapon herself. cal stopped in his tracks as soon as the leader herself barked an order and ava, begrudgingly, respected her for the play. still, it annoyed her how well it worked, and as soon as she caught up to cal herself, flicked him across the forehead. โ€œwhy did you stop?? youโ€™re not a dog!โ€ she exclaimed, before letting out a huff. her fingers then pointed into the direction ana had disappeared into and she punched him in the shoulder for extra good measure.

โ€œnow go get her boy!โ€

the two resumed their chase quickly, though the speed was not enough to properly catch up with their opponent. ava slowed down as they entered another area, growing wary by the abundance of obstacles in the place. this was clearly designated to be a vantage point for ambushes and while she was known for rushing into scenes with head first and thinking later, she was not so stupid as to ignore the blatant warning signs. raising up her hand to signal her partner to dial back the speed, ava took a moment to sweep her surroundings. anaโ€™s figure had vanished but her gut told her that the leader couldnโ€™t be too far off either.

โ€œshe has to be here somewhere..โ€ she muttered as her gaze travelled across the course. โ€œkeep your eyes open and gun ready.โ€ was the order that followed in a whisper, and ava began to cautiously traverse the different corridors.

upon turning around a corner, a new sense befell upon her โ€“ one palpable enough to captivate her attention and rest the breath in her throat. it was almost on instinct that her frame paused and in just that moment, a whirl of action transpired in the matter of seconds. first, a flicker of movement. then, a brief glimpse of an object being drawn from across the room. avaโ€™s heart stuttered, mind locking into a state of vacancy. her limbs moved on their own accord, hands grasping the fabric of her partnerโ€™s clothes as she pulled his body in front of her, and within a momentum, ava had shielded herself from the shot that echoed through the course. the light of calโ€™s headband prickled her eyes afterwards, signaling that anaโ€™s aim landed true.

oops.

โ€œuh, thanks.โ€ ava said sheepishly to her fallen comrade, before stepping aside and attempting a shot herself at the figure that was already on the move again. unfortunately, it didnโ€™t lit up any headbands, and she was left with a string of curses in her head and disappointment in her bones. giving up was not an option, though. ava was determined enough to win and in order to secure victory, anaโ€™s balloon had to go. they were still in their own territory, giving them an edge.

โ€œ go and reload, maybe see how the others are doing. iโ€™m going after her!โ€ she told him, before dashing forward again. โ€œmeet me back at the edge of our territory. oh, and donโ€™t get shot!โ€ the smile that she flashed over her shoulder probably didnโ€™t do much other than rub salt in the wound, but calumโ€™s feelings over being used as a human shield were not avaโ€™s greatest concerns at the moment.

she had a game to win after all.

. . . BENJI
Had Benji ever known a time when he didn't have sore muscles? A time when reaching for the very top shelf or putting his feet up on the table โ€“ which Guangli hated but Benji could usually get away with โ€“ didn't make his legs tremble from exertion? A time when he didn't wake up wondering if he'd dislocated his spine? It felt like he had been living with this chronic ailment his whole life. Benji was used to it, of course, but it had been months since training started, and he felt like he should have gotten over it by now. Wasn't the pain supposed to go away at some point? No way it had anything to do with his habit of hunching over his laptop like an evil crone or the way he slept on the uncomfortable loveseat in the studio more often than he slept on his bed in the dorm. Anyways, Benji was certain that the new dance he was learning was to blame; surely it was illegal for a choreography to contain so many squats and jumps. He was going to develop arthritis of the knees. Ronen had also spent the night at the studio, but the other boy seemed fine. Oh to be young again... Benji had thought that morning as he watched Ronen eat breakfast and basically function like a normal human being, the power of youth. Or maybe he's onto something about those superfood smoothies...

When their manager announced that everyone had a schedule for the show that was "a bit different from what you guys are used to" and to "wear comfortable clothes because you'll be doing a lot of moving around," Benji had not been thrilled. He'd watched snippets of the variety show channel his mom sometimes put on โ€“ he knew what Law of the Jungle was. Although he was supposed to be working with Ronen on a song that night, he couldn't focus and instead spent much of his time staring at the wall, wondering how he was going to get out of filming. Maybe the producers would let him off the hook if he told them he was allergic to trees, dirt, and, uh, wasps. He'd fallen asleep on the loveseat at some point.

Benji's attitude towards the whole affair flipped dramatically when they walked into the arena. "Check out the bouncy castle," he'd whispered to Calum. "Epic." There were colorful balloons everywhere and what looked like a little maze at the back. The vibes were 'elaborate birthday party for a five year old,' and Benji was pretty stoked. Then they handed him the gun and, well. Something changed. Ana must have seen something dark and dangerous in his eyes because she chose him (and not Cal) first.

Unbeknownst to many, Benjamin Joo was actually a laser tag god. The Totale Vernietiger ("total annihilator"), as he was called by his small group of friends in Belgium. In other words, he was the second best laser tag player in his small group of friends. When he had a gun in his hands, a switch flipped. He was no longer Benji; he was the Totale Vernietiger.

Ana apparently thought it would be best to let the Totale Vernietiger hold down the fort, which was why Benji was staking out nearby their team's cluster of balloons. He had moved some of the little half-walls around when no one was looking to create a perfect ambush spot. Sunny had returned quite a few times with balloons from the other team, and every time he gave her a little nod of solidarity. She only started returning the nods after the second balloon. Whenever the enemy team attempted to snatch one of his balloons, he would emerge from his hiding place like a wraith of death and make sure the casualties were heavy. His team had only lost two balloons so far, and each balloon lost was a heavy blow to the Totale Vernietiger's ego. That was why he was determined to not let it happen again.

He could hear Ava screaming and the squeak of sneakers slipping against the smooth concrete floors. Things had been pretty slow for the past ten minutes or so, slow enough that even the cameraman assigned to him had put his camera down. Benji was lost in thought, thinking about how nice it would be everyone had walkie-talkies. There was the sound of people running close by, which was not out of the ordinary. He whipped his head up and bolted upright when he realized that the footsteps were entirely too close for comfort. Goddammit! Ronen and Guangli!

"Stop right there, imbecile!" Benji shrieked in guttural French as he cleared the half-wall and hit the ground running. He slowed to a speedwalk to keep his arms steady and fired in quick succession at the two retreating figures. Ronen's headband lit up, and Ronen passed the balloon to Guangli. Big mistake. Benji forced his little chicken legs to pump a little faster. "Li-hyung!" he shouted, "stop, please!" He knew Guangli would be able to hear him pouting through his voice. "Hyungie, please give me the balloon!" Even as he said it, he kept his gun raised and ready.

Calum Lee

Cal would say he knew his way around a gun. One simply doesn't grow up in West Virginia and not, after all. Did that mean, however, that he expected any level of prowess from himself in this game? No. He has never won in FPS games aside from flukes and there was a reason why โ€” he sucked. Which was why he was absolutely terrified that he had been assigned the role of having Ava's back while she went out to shoot people. He couldn't believe that Li, his one protector in this team, his beloved hyung whose heart he blesses every day, abandoned him to this position. Cal would never forget his leader's cold, cold eyes staring back at his own best pleading expression and, yet agreeing to Ava's suggestion that she gets to drag him around. Father clearly didn't love him anymore.

Unfortunately, he didn't have much time to despair over this painful truth. Ava scoured the playing field like a hunter searching for prey and Cal found himself following rather mindlessly after her, still not having fully grasped the rules. Oh, well. Leave it for the smart people, he supposed. He'll just shoot when told so he can get back to his hard-earned bottle of soda. Barely any minutes into this, a shadow flitted across Cal's sights and he flinched, his steps stuttering despite himself. Ava, on the other hand, darted after the figure without hesitation.

His second of hesitation left only the final part of his partner and her target's interaction to be seen. From over her shoulder, he spotted the smiling face of Ana. A brief moment passed in which Cal considered shooting at her. Was it rude to shoot at a girl if it was for the sake of team victory? He wasn't prepared for this situation. Why did he have to be here? Why couldn't he be in the bouncy castle, rolling around instead? He didn't even get to see how high he could jump on- A shiver ran down his spine, suddenly. Cal noticed that the spot where Ana stood was empty now and, reluctantly, his gaze shifted toward his partner. Sure enough, there it was. The Glare. If he was a cartoon dog, Cal's ears might have quite promptly folded down. Maybe he should leave the philosophical lamenting for later. Or be less scared of shadows.

Rather than any nagging, though, what left Ava's lips was a command for him to chase after their fleeing target; great, he could at least do that much. He might not have been all that while playing soccer back in school, but he was always the fastest guy on the team. Long legs probably helped more than any kind of sprinting talent but, hey. A strength is a strength! It didn't take long for him to close in on Ana... close enough to shoot...

"Stop!" Her voice rung out, so suddenly and sharply that, in his surprise, the only course of action that came to Cal's mind as a response was to do exactly what she said. A spree of questions rushed into his head: Why? What is it? Is she okay? It was only when he spotted the smug satisfaction in Ana's eyes, reminiscent of that look his sister always gave him when he managed to con him into a chore, that Cal realized he'd been had.

"Hey!" Was his indignant response, though he couldn't keep the self-deprecation-induced amusement out of his voice, which Ana promptly ignored. Cal didn't have much room to care about her right then, though, because the scarier of the two As was back at his heels. He turned around, dread descending onto him, and only caught sight of her finger heading for him when it was about point three millimetres from his face. He shut his eyes just in time for the sting to take hold of his poor forehead, and he reopened them with a pitiful, wronged layer added on. First, Li abandoned him, then Ana cruelly tricks him and now, what? Violence? What a dastardly day to be Calum Lee.

โ€œWhy did you stop? Youโ€™re not a dog!โ€ Ava scolded, pulling another act of violence against him โ€” this time a punch on his shoulder โ€” as she pointed toward where Ana had run off with a huff. A pout began to form on Cal's lips and he made to defend himself, only to be cut off with yet another command. "Now, go get her boy!โ€ The girl exclaimed, completely serious. Not a dog, she says? Was she sure she thought that? Really? Truly? Because he sure wasn't getting that vibe. If he didn't think it would get him hit again, he would have given her an incredulous stare for a second longer. But, alas, time was not on his side.

They resumed their chase after Ana immediately, yet the Thai girl was nowhere to be found, her trail lost in the winding maze-like structure. โ€œShe has to be here somewhere,โ€ his partner mumbled as they explored the space, her voice lowered in a whisper, โ€œkeep your eyes open and gun ready.โ€ He did. And that was why, this time, he spotted the incoming enemy faster than Ava did. Realizing that the figure was raising their gun, he dodged, belatedly remembering that he couldn't leave Ava to just die. At the same moment that his partner found their attacker herself, he reached out to pull her aside... only for her grip to land on his arm first.

Shocked. Dumbfounded. Speechless. None of those words were enough to portray the sheer betrayal he felt in that moment. As the light of his headband signaled his demise, Cal finally gave that stare that'd been building up to his treacherous teammate. โ€œUh, thanks,โ€ she remarked in response, showing barely a split second of remorse before her head got back into the game, firing a shot at the fleeing Ana. "You're welcome," he replied, his tone somehow relaying his despair despite its deadpan nature.

โ€œGo and reload, maybe see how the others are doing. Iโ€™m going after her! Meet me back at the edge of our territory,โ€ Ava continued. Come back, she says? Come? Back? Cal look at the face he once thought was pretty and saw the devil instead. Couldn't he just please frolic in the balloon castle now? Unfortunately, Ava did not wait to negotiate this with him as she began to head off toward the opposite direction. "Oh, and donโ€™t get shot!โ€ Came her parting words as she left him. And if she thought that smile she threw him over her shoulder would comfort him, she was wrong.

With a sigh, Cal left to carry out the orders from above yet again. A dastardly day to be him, indeed.

That' day for sure was unexpected, Akari didn't think they would have a day where they would play games together instead of spending all their time practicing. It was kind of refreshing to have a day where they could relax and mess around and just laugh without the stress of the competition to see who which team would debut at the end.

They were divided into teams and as she expected she wasn't picked first she even herself wouldn't consider herself good enough to be picked first, but at least she wasn't the last one so it was kind of a relief. Being in the middle was good maybe that way she wouldn't be a huge target, but she was kidding she was sure half of this people would go full as if their lives depend on it especially the boys and Ana and Ava... yeah it was going to be wild, but at least that would make it funnier and that's what mattered at the end of the day.

As the game started Akari realized that in fact, she was bad at the whole laser thing, well, not the level of bad as Li who somehow still think he was good or he was just doing it for the sake of looking cool, maybe she shouldn't be saying this when he was the team captain, but still Ana was their leader, where Akari's loyalty should be, she liked both of them even if they argue like cats and dogs she still believed she could become friends, but laser tag was not going to be the thing that united them. Going back to her abilities in laser tag she wasn't good either well not at the same level as Benji, did the guy got possessed by the spirits of laser tag? Or in his past life. He was a hero in the war and that's why he was so good at this game that implied shooting.

Just as she was making her way towards the opposite side she noticed a commotion. Since it seemed that Ava and Cal have noticed Ana be around there and they were trying to find her. She thought for a moment about joining them in the search of her leader, but she wasn't sure if it was the best idea for sure Ava was competitive and Ana wouldn't make it easy, and poor Cal was already treated like a dog, sure he had the energy of one and he was acting like one... maybe he was a puppy, after all, would he also like belly rubs and receive prices when he did something good? It sounded in character for him.

It didn't take long until she found out Ronen and Li it seemed they were planning to go towards Ryeo, just by the looks it seemed as is Li thought he had the best idea in the world while Ronen was just there for moral support maybe it would be better to join them after all while Li was more into being competitive it seemed that Ronen was more into the funsies of the game rather than ending with the enemy.

She rushed towards the pair hoping she would be able to join then "Let's go together I'm sure 3 is better than two!" she said with a smile.
