Food The Weirdest And Most Exotic Foods You've Eaten

Yunn

<p>There's lots of strange and weird foods all over the world. You may have at one point eaten, force fed, or tricked to eating some at one point in life. Or, they might just be a special delicacy only found in your part of the world/culture. So I was wondering what foods strange foods this community has put in their mouths, and share the taste and experience, good or bad, with us. ^^ Well I guess I'll shall start with one of my favorites, congealed pig blood <3 Although I'm not if it's that weird, from where I live I get looks when I say pig blood is delish. Trust me, it's not as bad as it sounds. It tastes great by itself. </p>

I don't know if it's too weird of a food, but I only just recently discovered French Macarons. I had no idea what they were, but when I ate one I realized they're some sort of pastry/cookie. They're SO good, you all should have one at least once in your lifetime or else you'll be missing out! :) <p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_04/image.jpeg.4a26f403f4afc0f29edd87eb7796f288.jpeg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="121390" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_04/image.jpeg.4a26f403f4afc0f29edd87eb7796f288.jpeg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

I guess the most exotic thing I've eaten is probably moose. I've had it as a plain steak and in lasagna. It's pretty good; like very rich, gamey beef.

Personally, I prefer chocolate moose:

I haven't eaten anything particularly odd, but my mother, who's a chef, has eaten cow brains before.

Great. Now I'm hungry. ?_(?????)_
I used to work at a hot pot restaurant called Little Sheep, we served congealed pig blood and duck feet as well! It was a little strange because it's not stuff I would eat because I avoid red meats, poultry, and pork.... So yeah. :')

The weirdest food I've tried though....? It's not weird to me, but I guess it's weird for other cultures? I'm mixed, but I love me some modongo :')

Well...

One day, little old me was at the beach with a few others, and we got a fire going. And then I got curious. So, being the genius I am, I took a limpet, and fried it by the fire. Then I ate it. I was pretty ill afterwards. I would most definitely not recommend it. Eeyurgh. The most exotic food I like is, I guess, Calamari. Not very exotic, I know.

Well, probably the most unusual food I have ever eaten is Balut.

For those who don't know what Balut is, it's a developing bird embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell.

Edit: I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to food. I've eaten brain, heart, sheep head, live maggots, spiders, piranha, and so on and so forth. :P

A Durian, actually.

Yes, the spiky fucking fruit that smells like rotting flesh.

It tasted... Nice? The taste was overpowered by the smell, but i imagine it was rather sweet.

I haven't consumed as much odd food as I'd like to, but the strangest thing I've ever had was probably ostrich jerky.

Crickets, here. Down in southern Mexico they're a common snack; we call them chapulines. They're pretty good in my opinion! People are just really scared about trying them, heh.

I'm a girl who will try anything once. I have ate frog legs, crocodile meats, rocky mountain oysters (coated in cocktail sauce to mask the taste), octopus, and a bunch of other things.

The most nastiest thing I have ever ate though, is called Livermush. It's a loaf made of ground up pig liver, head parts of the pig, and cornmeal. You find it in the southern United States. My husband LOVES it, and just the smell of it repulses me. His family also ate pickled pig feet. Ugh.. No.

Dragonfruit? Anyone? I had a dragonfruit when I was in Hawaii...and let's say...it was interesting.

@Wavedream623

Macaroons are great c; at least the ones that aren't flower flavored /bleh. Who thought that was a good idea.

@Etihw @Mordecai

Yea Balut's pretty weird. I like eating the yolk and all, but trying to eat the bird a couple of times I never really enjoyed eatying it with all the bones in the way. ._.

@Demonhunter

I kind of regretting looking those up.

Well after introducing one of the things I love, I'll put out something I don't like which is...chicken feet. Idk I don't understand what's good about them, you literally just chew on fat on the feet. It has a weird gelatinous texture which I don't like Dx.

Another unofficial fruit of my motherland ayeeeee

For me, I've eaten buffalo and crocodile meat. Some of the food mentioned here are what people in my culture eat every day so I feel proud ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I would have to say the most exotic foods I have eaten are snails, squid/octopus, liver, different types of Vietnamese food (which is super tasty), and I have eaten different types of raw fish and sushi (I think it is called shushimi? Correct me please).

There aren't many foods I shy away from.
