A rock?
Name: Alex 'Sleipnir' Tennerman
Appearance:
Age: 26 or so
Personality: Alex is sort of what happens when the 'Dashing rogue' happens to be a girl. They're cocky, arrogant, and never even THINK about losing, but Alexa likes to think she's better than the cops and security, if for no reason other than that she refuses to kill. She barely even hurts people. Well, okay, a Jazzhand to the face really hurts but he didn't even look that bad after!... In any case, as the thief of the modern age, she prides herself on being the sneakiest, fastest, and generally flashiest little thief out there... But even she gets nervous. Under that facade of calm, cocky smirks and the occasional finger gun, she can be extremely focused, or scared out of her wits about trying to slip by that really tough guard. She's got a good poker face, but it's only because she needs it.
Skills: Infiltration 4, Hacking 2, Social 1, Melee 1, Medical 1, Technology 1, for a total of 10.
Hardware:
Cyberlegs X2 + Motoskates (High speed motorized roller skates built into one's cyberlegs. Capable of reaching up to 35 MPH normally, and capable of a brief boost to 50 MPH) (3 points?)
Enhanced senses (One eye and ear are cybernetically augmented, the others are not. This is to ensure that hacks and EMPs don't leave her completely senseless.) (1 point?)
Cyberarms X1 + Power surge (Referred to by its street name, the Jazzhand) (2 points?)
Wetware: Reflex Package (1 point?)
Nanoware: Oracles + Mental speed (2 points?)
Complications: Hated, Hunted, AND on a watchlist! Kind of comes with being a high-profile thief.
Backstory: Nobody but Alex knows how she got her start. There's records of her being an orphan shuffled around foster homes, and a few small dots on a criminal record but her cybersurgeries are off the books, and it's unclear where she learned her skills or how. A few law enforcement officials theorize that perhaps the records were falsified at some point, but the foster parents are anonymous, and the adoption agency itself recently merged with another, making finding records difficult. What is clear is that at some point, she started to steal things. And though most believe she'd been stealing for a while, the first heist attributed to her happened at a local museum, where, one night, a guard discovered that the main display piece, one of the earliest successful cyberlimbs still in existence, was missing. In its place was a 3D printed figurine of Sleipnir, the mythical eight-legged horse that served as Odin's personal steed. It wasn't long before corporate data, safety deposit boxes, and even a foreign dignitary's favorite hat were all replaced in a similar fashion. But a lack of on-site evidence combined with witness accounts of a helmeted figure put her real identity out of reach... Until a mob informant told the authorities that his boss had tried to hire her for a job, only for her to steal one of his prized paintings right out from under him for another client. Finally, they had their name, face, and old fingerprint records. None of which has helped them thus far. As for Alex, she likes seeing them try so hard to get to the bottom of her mystery. But now she has her own mystery to solve, in the form of a mysterious job offer mentioning serving her country. If she were a little less curious that would make her stay away. As is, she just can't resist it. Even if it'll end with her slapping someone with a jazzhand and making a run for it.
Equipment: Grapple gun (Standard thieving equipment, though it doesn't have a very fast motor) Lockpick kit (Some people DO still have physical locks.) Hackerphone (It's just a smartphone, but it's got a cool case, and a lot of hackerware on board.) Helmet and elbowpad (Standard motorcycle helmet and elbowpad, for the one elbow not currently made of metal.)
Other: The theme of, and inspiration for, Sleipnir:
