In a single instant, the fighting had begun. Ethan’s forces made the first move against them, sadly none made a move towards him. Good, it gave him just enough time to seek out weak points within their forces. Aseal watched as Ari had Ethan on the offensive with his throwing knives, he paid attention to the creature's movements trying to find his rhythm. 1…..2….. watching each step Ethan made was important and what was truly crucial was the next throw Ari made. ….3. At that exact moment, he would lob his shield with all his might to Ethan's side. His goal was to catch him at just the right moment as he was about to dodge Ari’s blade; catching him in the crossfire so to speak. The force he threw his shield at the creature would be enough to cause some damage to him, but the main goal was to knock the air out his lungs; the shield was aimed for his mid-section. However, if Ethan was nimble enough to sacrifice his rhythm to escape both attacks at from the front and side, he hoped it would throw him off balance giving Ari an opportunity to deliver a fatal blow.

After the tossing of his shield, he quickly dropped to his knees planting his hand on the ground, his attention still focused on the battle going on around him. The arrival of the Basilisk was brilliantly played by his handler. It had disrupted the formation of Ethan’s unit forcing them to scatter from their tactic. Hopefully, the snake's disruption was enough to break the concentration of the anti-magic unit to allow him to cast his own magic. Instinctively he knew he needed to get rid of both anti-magic and the mages from the field. ”Htrae ekips” he muttered, hopefully being able to conjure his spell. If successful spikes of earth would erupt from under Anti-magic units feet, impaling them and possibly silencing them for good.

Lucille Irebrook
She blinked, glancing over her shoulder half unsure if she heard someone talking to her as she was moving back a bit. She shook her head dismissing it shifting her attention back forward. She looked to Misty giving a light nod. She was shaking a little though it didn't seem to cause her resolve to falter. It would be foolish for her to lie that she was afraid. It was only further heightened as suddenly an arrow came whizzing by her head. She blinked, looking a bit dumbfounded form the shock before shaking her head. She suddenly darted further away attempting to take some form of cover.

"T...t.t....t..to close!" She spoke out nearly looking like she was about to have a heart attack breathing heavily. She glanced over keeping tucked away from any stray arrows hopefully. She was far from the type who could take an arrow and shrug it off. She breathed heavily trying to regain her breath and clam herself down a little.

"You can still run you know." Feir poke, his body pressed tighter against her as to minimize his own profile. He wouldn't admit it, but he was far from being the type who wanted to willingly take an arrow himself. He would protect Lucille but he had no plans on making himself an easy target if all possible. Lucille closed her eyes, starting to concentration using the cover she was behind to shield herself. Fortunately for her she didn't need to worry about aiming her magic to use it, so long as she had a general idea where she wanted her to be summoned. She should be clear of their range to stop her magic, and so long as as she could manage to summon her eidolon the only way she knew it could be stopped would be if she ran out of energy or somehow was knocked unconscious.

"I... I know... b... but I have to help..." She spoke as she touched her hand on the floor, a green circle forming on the ground as she began to channel, closing her eyes as she focused on the summoning ritual behind the vague safety of cover.

She could feel the magical presence of her wall fizzled out as the anti magic pulse struck through it. She grunted mentally, simply because she was betting that the Inquisitors would be doing a aimed burst of the anti magic towards the few that seemed to give resistance, and not just pulse it everywhere, since it would be just detrimental to their forces. Anyways, what's done is done, and she have been drawn into the fight. Simply because she was in the vicinity, and the inquisitors, Alreos Inquisitors have been a pain for her as well. First they started calling her the White Witch, and then they started to hunt her down like the rest of the healers that have left the Kingdom's service. There are more to that of course, but enough stories, time to help the other side.

Planting her staff on the ground in front of her again, she activated a spell using the inner magical reserves of the elderwood staff.

Spell : Anti-magic Ward

Not the fancies of Wards, but it will prevent those mages from disrupting her channel for the next phase, and at least two bolts of arrows before it dissipates. It certainly won't block any physical projectiles either, but seeing that she is still hidden in the shadows and quite a distance away from the fight, she gambled on the chances. Pulling her hood over her head, making sure her next spell will not draw attention in the darkness. Taking out two gems, and holding it each in each of her palms, she grasped them tightly, she drew her arms apart, as though ripping though a piece of invisible paper in front of her, before punching them down to her sides. Her punch is met with an invisible resistance, and her knees went for a slight bend, making her look as if she is trying to do a lifting of a heavy rod, in reverse.

The gems in her palms pass a soft glow as she grasped it and went on the action to tore it apart. Light did not leak from her palms, but the glow did make her fingers and palms look reddish, as though a bright light was shone through it. Her eyes too produced a soft whitish glow, but as her hood was down, it too was covered adequately.

In this stance she is quite vulnerable, but risks are far more exciting to take, than not.

Elaina Waesmor

Silence for about a minute. Then Elaina hugged Arabelle and tears could be felt falling on Arabelle's head and face. "I'm sorry..........." Elaina's voice was cracked and it took everything in her to not completely start sobbing. "I'm sorry you had to go through that torture. I can only imagine what you're going through." While Elaina was squeezing Arabelle's head close and sobbing, she could understand why Ari was so fierce about safety. People could be ruthless, merciless. That was why she wanted to fight. She wanted to fight against evil to, in a way, show her father that one didn't need to kill to win. Things like this only drove Ari's hardline stance on life and death deeper into her mind........but with it, drove the desire to fight and prove Ari was was driven deep into her heart. For now though, she was crying, sobbing hard over Arabelle's plight
P Paint The Wind

Keara was quiet through the exchange. She could feel the tension in the air, only speaking once a shy voice asked for a nonlethal resolution

“The time for peace is past. Only blood may sate the gods now.”

She said in an ominous tone. As she expected, the smqll squirrel charged forward at Ari. She began charging her dark magics, her claws radiating with a dark purple aura. However, as she noticed he large paladin, her attention diverted to him instead. She began backpedaling. Her survival instincts then kicked in, igniting the dark flame.

Pausing only for a moment, she stared directly at the paladin, linking minds with him. Her eyes became glazed over with a black film as she started to corrupt his thoughts

If succesful, the paladin would hear whispers scratching deeper into his pain, boring into his very soul

“Submit... Cower... Fear. Fall!”

She had hoped it would incapacitate the paladin long enough to deliver a killing strike with her magic.

Kylesar1 Kylesar1
The Paladin slammed his shield into her stomach and pushed, which would send her flying. The Anti-Magic spell made her attempt useless, leaving her completely open to attack. She'd have to charge and cast again before the next pulse of Anti-Magic. The Paladin reignited his sword with Holy Flame and swung it, sending a wave of flame at her, which would tell her that she COULD try and cast again, but she'd have to recover, charge and cast before the Paladin closed the gap as well

Beatrice was all to used to berserkers. After all she worked with them before. And just a fist against her was dangerous. She quickly rolled away from the where the fist was meant to go and slashed at the mans arm, hoping to chop his arm off. She was going to teach this man why he should've picked another target.
Kylesar1 Kylesar1
He pulled his arm back right after the punch and blocked it with what looked to be useless metal gauntlets. That was their use. Not getting an arm chopped off immediately. He grabbed the blade and pulled, ignoring it digging into his palms. His grip was iron and his intent was to bring her right in to a powerful Spartan Kick that would send her through every all of the Brick-made Prancing Pony. From the digging of the sword in his palm, his eyes flashed red. Rage was activating. As he took more damage and body got closer to death, he got stronger until he actually died.

Marianne Basil
"Oh yes, I'm a huge fun, so much so that I want to keep you for myself." Marianne said to Ari with a playful tone. "It's really too bad, I wished we could have met in a more peaceful circumstance."

As soon as the fight began, Marianne drew away. She wasn't one for close combat and is more used to supervising the battle from afar. Of course, when push comes to shove, she could fight with her dark magic and have Fredrick defend her, that was for the worst case scenario.

"Well then," she muttered, "who should I start with?"

Marianne briefly surveyed the ongoing fight that was close to becoming a chaotic melee with everyone doing their own thing and formations had been all but forgotten and quickly decided against summoning a large force to do battle. For one, it is to avoid friendly fire in the confusion of combat, and for two, she simply doesn't feel like going all out in this fight and the first reason will do well enough as an excuse to not put her all into this one battle.

With the course of action decided, Marianne reached out her hand and as if responding to her gesture, a tome appeared right atop f it, resting comfortable on her palm as it reveals its contents. Written within the tome, there are various dark spell and incantation along with a long list of names of the ones dominated by Marianne. By themselves, the pages turned to reveal the page with the names Marianne is looking for, and from within she called upon one specific follower.

And so, from thin air the follower appears, an armored knight armed with a spear, riding upon a flying beast, a griffon. This follower was a griffon knight from a certain foreign kingdom and he was found by Marianne after him and his griffon got lost in a storm and landed far away from home. Marianne took both him and his griffon under her care, nursing them both back in health. Then when he finally opens up to the Conquistador, darkness seeped into that opening, chocking him of his free will and though, till only loyalty to Marianne remains.

Now summoned, Marianne gave him but a single order: Strike down the god given familiar Autumn, A.K.A. Misty, for if nothing else, the familiar's air support could easily wipe out the rest while they're stuck in the midst of their melee. And so the knight had his griffon soppy down at the creature, the griffon striking with it's deadly talons and deadlier bestial precision whist the knight would try to stab the yet small familiar with his spear.

Misty
I'm the only griffin for these skies!

Misty, being small, easily dodged the initial attacks. She then turned big and growled, then roared at the Knight on the Griffon. The Griffon, being a flying creature, would be buffeted by the wind, keeping it from flying easily, definitely keeping it from getting anywhere near Misty. Misty was getting angry all of a sudden, her wind stronger. Griffins were FIERCELY territorial. These were THEIR (her and Ari's) skies, not some summon from some harlot who had a host of summons. Master, can you give me Slash Breath? I can't stand another griffin in YOUR SKIES!! She spoke this to his mind, their summoner bond keeping them from having to speak aloud. However, with those last thoughts, she roared even harder and she was struck with murderous intent towards the enemy griffin

Ari, amidst his onslaught, smirked. Can do, Ari replied and his eyes flashed red. Misty did as well and the wind from her roar got a lot more interesting as the knight and enemy griffon started getting slashed as if a knight were cutting it deep.

Kylesar1 Kylesar1

He got his wish...........partly. The Anti-Mage got his feet impaled, but that was about as far as it got before it dispersed. That kept him from moving effectively, as both feet now had holes in them. The Anti-Magic spell (the one he used just a bit earlier) didn't have a lasting effect. It was a quick wipe of the battlefield, so that allowed Aseal to get his spell off until it dispersed by being too close to the anti-mage.

A healer quickly ran over to the Anti-Mage and started healing him. While the Anti-Magic would slow the healing process, this was an elite healer. It would still heal fairly fast. The Anti-mage was resolute and trained to never falter. His anti-magic spell was much more powerful than the last, telling from the fact that he was currently charging it up. It was either stop him or he knocks out a good amount of firepower from the party

(Powerful Anti-Magic spell next post)

Ethan jumped, waiting for the guy to attack. It allowed him to dodge both the knife and the shield. "You thought I let my guard down? I-" He was suddenly shot by an arrow. Air was his weakness because you can't move effectively in the air. By jumping in the air, he had let his guard down. However, Ari missed his target by only a bit. The target was Ethan's heart. Ari shot him in the stomach and the moving armor kept it from penetrating deep enough to cause internal damage. "Tis rude to ignore your dance partner, Squirrel." Ari said as Ethan fell with a blood trail to follow.

Ethan stood up and pulled out the arrow. "Touche, Shadow Ranger. You're as good as they say."
"Damn right I am and you've lost this battle," Ari said with a cocky smile
"What makes you say that?" Ethan charged again to slash, but Ari blocked and, using his superior strength, pushed him back
"Kudos for your speed, Ethan, but I'm a step ahead of the game. You'll come to know that in the future." Ari summoned more throwing knives and kneeled
"Butterfly," Ethan muttered. His sword turned into twin butterfly swords. They were perfect for quick attacks. Ethan charged in and started dashing around, getting off quick attacks. Actually hitting some attacks after a couple of blocks from Ari. Ari just smirked and threw his knives in the air. "Cold and Calculated," Ari sighed but held his kneel. "You stop, you die," Ari said simply, dodging a stab attempt incredibly easy

The Basilisk had already eaten 2 of Ethan's troops and was facing down a few more. What bit of reinforcements Ethan had in waiting at the forest was focused on the big-ass snake beast that was Lexi. "You don't deserve to look AT ME!!" Lexi hissed aloud at the troops at the standoff. The one who looked at Lexi's eyes turned to stone immediately. Basilisk stare was a definite thing here.

An arrow pierced the cover close to her face. The sniper, set up pretty far away in the woods, adjusted his shot. 5 degrees left. The next would be in her head if she didn't move

She was immediately tripped and pushed to the ground, and a blade could be felt in her back. "You're a crafty one, I'll give ya that." The voice of a rogue emanated from behind her, a bit covered by a cloth over his mouth. The power of the rogue was in stealth. Why would a rogue take the high road? "You're one of the treason group........You can surrender now and I'll not drag you in paralyzed from the waist down." He ran another blade up her spine (not cutting her) before stopping in an area about 3/4 the way up her back. A chuckle. "Right here, eh?"

Arabelle wrapped her arms around Eliana and tried not to cry herself, though without her eyes it didn’t involve actual tears. She rubbed the young girl’s back. “You’re so sweet, Eliana,” she murmured. She kept holding her gently and trying to soothe her. The memories tortured her, she remembered hearing him scream and beg, she remembered seeing the life leave his eyes. She started to sob as well, holding Eliana gently as she did. She missed him so much.

Kylesar1 Kylesar1

Keara was completely taken off-guard by the shield bash. As she landed from the strike, she skid down on the ground. Her magic was being interrupted, she could feel it. Different tactics were required. Her claws ignited with a seething black hatred. Being a more simple magic, it would have some resistance to void. With an elegant sidestep, she dodged the flaming blade, waiting for the paladin to make the first move instead. If she could not use magic to her advantage, she would use agility, as she wasn't weighed down as much as the knight.

"Come closer..."

She said in a taunting tone. Her darker side was creeping closer as she visualized herself devouring this paladins brains.

Kylesar1 Kylesar1

Beatrice coughed as she got up from the rubble. She was pissed at this moment "You are so dead!" But she then had an idea as she looked over to the bar. A bar with Alchohol, and lots of it. Beatrice grabbed a chair and hurled it at the berserker. And once she did she made a dash to the bar.

Kylesar1 Kylesar1

Big mistake for not stabbing her. Not that she didn't know the rogue was already there. Prior to the first anti-magic pulse, she casted detect creature , obviously to know and see hidden things and creatures. Why would she be involved if she knew not ? The rogue, the small little squad in the forest, they're all seen. She knew and risked it. A dagger is a whole lot better, than a spear thrown at her. The Anti Magic ward would hold for a few bolts of arrows, and she isn't much afraid of the push by the rogue. But as he pushed her to the ground, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes. The spell came to completion as her face touched the ground, and she fell through the earth, like falling through the water.

Spell : Maximised Empowered Quagmire

Centering around her, in a 30 meter radius, the soil of the land became liquid, basically a swimming pool of soil. Imagine that, and know that anyone would sunk into the soil in less than a second. Its only 6 feet deep though, and creatures that are used to maneuver in such conditions, such as the basilisks, would not have issue with it. The rest, all the Inquisition, the healers, the anti-mages, the archers, the berserker, the paladin, the resistance (Ari and the gang) , everyone (NPC) that is in the tavern, the tables and chairs, and the bar. The earth became a sticky liquid, any orifice that is open, the soil will enter it. Open your mouth, the soil will get in. Open your eyes, the soil will rub against it, definitely not recommended. The fluffier you are, the more the liquid sticks to and slows you down, meaning that the squirrel would certainly receive more penalties than the one fighting it. Anna would also sink, in fact, she would sink to the 6 feet bottom of the soil, the rogue can join her too if he decides to stab her, or he could stay on the tree, the only thing that is not affected by the spell, as their roots support itself deeper than 6 feet. Also, movements would be restricted just as one move in water. Just for note, this is not quicksand ladies and gentleman, this is soil turning into water.

The only thing that wasn't affect by this, would be the two flying familiars battling in the air, until they land on the ground in the vicinity again.

Of course, the inquisitors could go ahead and cast their anti-magic spell. But let's just say, that the soil would simply harden, and trap everything that fell into it in a glimpse. You know what creature could take advantage of this situation when everyone is trapped solid in the ground ? Yep, the basilisks.

And she can hold her breath for 1 minute and 30 seconds.

”Shit! Still standing.”

The ward of the Anti-magic unit was still in effect when he cast his spell. It wasn’t strong enough to take its true form. Still, it did manage to wound the man and bring the healer to his aid. Perfect for him, two birds one stone he thought. Just then the familiar sound of an arrow humming through the wind caught his attention. His ears perked and his head now on a swivel. He spotted the arrow and its attended target. It had flown dangerously close to the little shy girls face, Shit! There was no doubt in his mind the archer had his sights on her. She must have been oblivious to her surroundings while casting her invocation. Even with his quick glance around, he could tell the others besides Ari were in a bit of disadvantage. The assassin, the paladin, and even the barbarian had caught his attention. The man gritted his teeth out of anger seeing all this, he wanted to shout and damn them all. Quickly he picked up a pair of hefty rocks with his free hand before rising to his feet. While rising he twisted the blade around in his hand, he maneuvered it to be resting the hilt and guard in the palm of his hand. He wanted to finish what he started. He hurled his sword with all his might like a javelin at Anti-Mage user. He would either kill the man with his blade from afar or smack the living daylights out of him, prolonging his invocation he was trying to conjure.

However, he would never know the outcome as he quickly pivoted around tossing one stone into his dominant hand. Quickly he took aim at the assassin who hovered over the down healer. He prayed his magic would aid him again as before, even if it was being diminished by the mage, he prayed with all his might. ”Edolpxe” With all his might he hurled the rock towards the Assassins face. Hopefully, upon impact the rock would explode causing damage, but if he had failed to slay the Anti-mage which his fate is unknown to him after turning his attention elsewhere. Perhaps, the rock would flare up instead stunning the man. Hell, he would be amazed by himself if the stone just killed him upon impact, like the good old days before man had swords and steel. But, what were the chances of that?

After hurling the stone he took off in a mad dash towards the shy girl. He reached for his scabbard ripping it from his belt, now his only weapon. If he learned anything from his Iaijutsu instructor. It was the scabbard should never be underestimated as a weapon. Aseal counted his blessing that the group wasn't terribly separated from one another, everyone was pretty much in shouting distance. His eye quickly fell on the arrows and the position they were around the girl; clear indication he was still lining his shots with those misses. Another blessing in disguise, judging by the way the arrows had landed he speculated on the Archer's position. As long as he was in the archer's line of sight, he wouldn’t care about being shot in the back; his armor was strong enough to take a hit. Reaching her and staying int he line of fire, he pivoted around on his foot with the scabbard lined adjacent across his body where the girls head would be. With his free arm curled over his chest to protect his heart and his hand over his face for additional protection; he waited. He knew the armor he dawn was strong enough to take a hit, but he wanted the added protection just encase. He didn’t want to underestimate these guys. Hell.. he wondered to himself if he could block the arrow with his scabbard. With only one way to find out, the man’s ears perked up trying to listen for that every so faint whistling sound.

When everything broke into a fight, Vale tilted her head sideway and took a step back, still hugging her chest. Never interfere a fight unless one was sure why they did. It would bring more harm than good! She might had helped someone who could harm herself greatly by chance. While she gazed vacantly at everything, waiting for it to end so she could ask the victors or survivors for direction, her feet suddenly lose their footing. Surprised, she let go off her chest and the iron container fell to the ground, not surfacing again. She quickly grabbed her pole before it met a similar fate.

"Ah, my treasure!" A stream of air escaped the sole of her boots, a trick that had let her escaped quicksand pit before, but on that sinking ground, she was not propelled even to the height of her own thigh. Her expression turned into one of panic. "What is this? A unique spell of Earth or Water? Could there be a Master Caster in this fight? "

Vale pursed her lips and emitted a high pitched, melodious whistle. An updraft suddenly lifted the body of the Elementalist free from the strange soil into the air, where she, finally able to move freely, hastily swung the pole in her hand upward, opening the wings of the glider. She stopped her whistle and grabbed the handle on her glider tightly before another updraft flew her higher into the sky, interest showing on her face, mixed with mourning for her fallen treasure.

The writings from the Valley had told her that powerful magic spells were not always the strongest one. Some of the most advance spells depended more heavily on subtleties of details, complex manipulations of small matters, and the creativity of the caster. Someone who could cast something unique like that was surely talented and knowledgable! Discussion with a fellow mage would be beneficial for parties involved. Maybe she should look for-

"Ah, look out, fellow flighters!" daydreaming, Vale had forgot to control the direction of her flight, and was flying directly toward a flying griffin. Vale tilted the glider to her left to avoid collision, but her reflex was a bit slow. Levitating herself without the assistance of a tool was harder than it simply look, and she needed to act at the spur of the moment because of her daydreaming.

Devastation ensued against Ethan's Forces. The Anti-Mage got his spell off before the sword impaled him and ended his life. The problem was that this was cast AFTER Anna cast the spell. In other words, it worked AGAINST his forces with the spell turning back to Earth while they were under. Ethan was saved as he was pretty close to the Anti-Mage, so it dispersed before sinking him. However, everyone else was not so lucky

The Berserker, Paladin, Rogue, and Archers all sunk and then was killed by the dispersal of the spell crushing them in the earth. Ari got out of danger via Lexi, who used her massive tail to sling him into the air, where Misty caught him. Perfect synchronization of Master and Familiar. The rogue, who could avoid the soil due to jumping off Anna's body and onto a tree, got hit by the rock head on, which knocked him unconscious when it exploded. It didn't kill, but I don't need to explain what happens when you fall unconscious underwater

The only one left standing out of his force was Ethan himself and his healer. Nothing left he could do. The Anti-Mage was too busy thinking of himself to actually direct his spells toward ENEMY mages, not just using it on the field. Ethan sighed and turned around. "Defeated, I have no choice but to leave. You'll see me again Shadow Ranger." Ethan got on all fours, then dashed off with is healer at a speed one could assume was teleportation and not be all that wrong. All Ethan's forces other than his healer didn't need to be buried. They already were.

"VICTORY!" Misty bellowed. "Amazing as al- BAH!" Misty knocked someone clean out the air, too busy being happy that things were pretty much over to see Vale moving towards her. With her massive size, she didn't even stop moving. It was like a car hitting a dog. Felt, but no damage. Whether Vale was knocked upwards or downwards, the impact would hurt regardless. Misty landed, shaking her head at the surprise runover

Ari got down. He was sweaty, cut, bruised, and tired. He was smiling a genuine smile though. "Excellent work, people. You all have my thanks for helping me out. If either of you want to join us, you're free to. We're taking down Alreos, plain and simple." Ari had gauged enough of their skill to determine them more than worthy to come along with the group. Whether or not they had ulterior motives, Ari would definitely look into, but it couldn't be done unless they actually traveled together. He was bringing them around his daughter. He hoped they were all good.

Marianne Basil
The griffon and its knight had their share of run ins with wind magic, for those were the most effective against flying creatures. Being struck by the torrent of wind unleashed by Misty, the griffon spreads its wings wide and used the winds to ascend further up into the sky. There, the knight considers his next more. What he is up against is no mere beast, but a familiar given by a god. Nothing less than his utmost will do.

And so, the knight and his griffon continued to climb higher into the air, then looping back for a swift descent with fierce velocity. The loop was not only to accelerate their downward charge however, it also serves to drag out the time so that the griffon's approach will match the deployment of anti-magic, rending away Misty's wind and whatever magical display it may had in mind. It was a gamble, of course, the knight had no idea how the anti-mage would perform, if the mage was even a bit later or earlier than he expected, then it may as well be the end of him. However, if it is for Marianne, for the Commander, then such a risk was well worth it.

Then, both the knight as his griffon vanished. Why? For they have been summoned back to Marianne's side. The situation had changed, the battlefield changed. Someone, somewhere, had deployed tactical magic that had turned the entire ground into a swamp in an instant. Marianne had pulled her knight back in order to reorganize.

And where is Marianne within this quagmire? At the moment, she stood right above it, a dark hand risen from the ground, or rather, risen from her shadow, held her up and away from the liquid ground, Fredrick as well, stood with her, and the griffon knight hovered above ground just beside her.

"Looks like our fun will have to end here, not to mention Alreos had just ordered a crusade out of the blue. I suppose this is a good a time to pull back as any."

And with that, she disappeared, reverse summoning herself back to her fort where most of her follower resides. Though she calls it a fort, it's still just a camp with high fences on the outskirts of Toron at the moment. After Marianne, Fredrick and the griffon knight vanished as well, summoned by Marianne from the base camp.

Keara was surprised as the ground sunk, then subsequently hardened. Fortunately she got out of the quagmire safely before it hardened and crushed her opponent. Disappointed, her tentacles curved inward a bit as she pacified the dark magic on her hand.

“A pity...”

She muttered in a cold tone as she tried to remove the exposed helmet of the paladin, but to no avail. What a waste of a mind.

She turned around to her party. It seems in the fight several more had joined

“It looks like the merry band is assembled.”

She says in a dry sarcastic tone

“Anyways, that was a nice refresher. Are we going to introduce eachother or can we get a move on?"

The battle was won. Most of the enemy forces had succumbed to the magic of the Healer’s spell Quagmire. Drowning in the soil beneath them like quicksand, just to be entombed beneath the ground by the Anti-magic spell that took over reverting the terrain back into a solid element. He couldn’t help but marvel at the healer’s ability, as she was clearly a force to be reckoned with.

He returned to the field to retrieve his belongings, as he moved through the streets he attempted to fix the scabbard back to his side. After reclaiming his shield from where it had landed after hurling it at Ethan, he set his sights to his blade; which had indeed impaled the anti-mage.

After retrieving his blade from the anti-mages body, he began to Search the corpses of the Anti-Mage for anything of value; it wasn't coin that interested him. It was the knowledge of his enemies that compelled him to search,

“For the good of the world, I’m in. Now, where do we start?” He stated after hearing Ari words.

Anna Dwanne

She was glad that the rogue did not stab her as she sunk into the soil, and just as she anticipated the Anti-Magic pulse burst forth, hardening the soil immediately with everyone trapped in it. But she had a plan for this, and as simple as she got into the soil, she exited it when it hardens, with the one of the basic spells Shift Earth. She also anticipated for the rogue to get at her when she arose from the soil, the weakest time, as she braced for the pain. Feeling nothing however, she opened her eyes, and released her breath. Of course the rogue was knocked unconscious by something and fell into the liquid soil when it happened, but she couldn't feel, the double edged of the spell. Appearing on the ground on her belly, she pulled herself up.

The soil being everywhere, in her hair, a little bit in her nose, in her side pockets, and also in stuck inside of her clothes and inner garments. Dusting it off helps a little bit, but she definitely need to spend time to wash herself, and her hair again. Magic would only suffice to remove the bulk of it, but the smell, the small pieces of minerals, and stones, or bits of roots and so forth needs to be manually cleaned off. Tilting her head to the sides she tried to knock out the residue off her ears, as she recollected herself around her surroundings. Pulling her staff out of the ground with magic, as well as putting aside her gems for recharging later, she could hear a man talked out in to the open. She didn't catch a glimpse of the inquisitors leaving of course, but she assumed that they're not around anymore.

"Excellent work, people. You all have my thanks for helping me out. If either of you want to join us, you're free to. We're taking down Alreos, plain and simple." Kylesar1 Kylesar1

The words resonated with her. This Alreos that she once called the benevolent God, has turned against His people. People that practised 'White' magic used to be always be associated with him. And with Alreos changed, the image and reputation of 'white' mages too changed. And she secretly was glad that her expertise in 'Holy' magic wasn't tied to such a being. Getting herself next to the man who said that, she gave him (Ari) a look down.

"You'll need more than fancy words and fancy footwork for that." She said, looking at the man with a tired smile, before stretching her arm towards him from the distance of a feet across, as a greenish white aura enveloped her right hand. Projecting her palm towards the man's wounds, the aura shifted from her arm to her palms, as though travelling from her palm towards the man's wounds. The man's wounds would close up, pain would recede, as well as bruises will recover. Simple healing magic at its best.

“It looks like the merry band is assembled.” “Anyways, that was a nice refresher. Are we going to introduce each other or can we get a move on?" GreenEyedStranger GreenEyedStranger

"You can call me Anna Dwanne, or the White Witch " She replied into the open, her concentration not breaking from healing the man until he is at full health. Of course the man could still feel fatigue, both physical and mental fatigue. Binding Wounds does not reduce fatigue afterall. A good rest would take care of that, as she finishes up, and propped herself next to a portion of the slanted wall outside the tavern. She was abit beat too, from travelling half of the day, and then getting into such a big fight.

Ari Waesmor

Ari smiled at her and reveled in the Healing Magic, it serving as a bit of a muscle relaxer. "You have my thanks. Truly........anyways, of course we're not going in without a force to work with. We're not the only ones who are tired of Alreos and the Gods in general thinking they can toy with mortal life for their own entertainment. This is likely something much bigger than ourselves. The people have spoken. They just haven't acted yet, and who wouldn't call to arms if they're being led by the Ravinian Crusaders? We did take down his brother. I am Ari Waesmor of the Ravinian Crusaders, AKA the Shadow Ranger. Let's not discuss the Shadow part of Shadow Ranger." That was..........a shadier side to Ari
Allibi Allibi

Now to answer Keara's questions. He got everyone's attention and addressed everyone. "Introductions come in the morning to give you all time to sleep on it and process it. Let the adrenaline wear off. I'll just warn you all now though. If you're unbearable to be around, you'll be ejected. I'm not asking you to be fake, but we have to at least see you worth keeping around. How you are as a person is just as important as your skill, because we're not hiring you. Of course you'll get whatever loot you claim and get an equal cut of whatever rewards lie at the end of this, but you're coming on your own volition." Ari said. Considering how Ari acted, the bar wasn't set all that high. So long as they didn't have some ulterior motive and wanted to work with them (ACTUALLY work with them, not sit in the shadows and trudge behind never speaking and never helping, yet bitching), to Ari they were fine. He was planning on getting them introduced to the rest of the group tonight. However, it was night at the moment. What would end up happening was that they'd meet then they'd split for the night and meet up tomorrow morning. Why not just skip the middleman and do it a bit later. "Maybe I'll postpone introductions for tonight." Ari yawned. "I need a drink." He waved them off. "We meet up tomorrow morning outside the Prancing Pony, about 8:00am. If someone wants to come with me to the next town over to have a drink, you're free to. While I'll pay for drinks and discuss a few things with you, I'm not carrying you out if you choose to assault your kidney. Dismissed." The Prancing Pony was this town's bar, but it was destroyed and even though Ari could drink his brains out right now with whatever survived the attack, he preferred his bars intact.

"Come Lexi, Misty. Misty you get some cake and milk. Lexi, I'll rent out a pool tonight and turn it into a hot spring for you to soak in." Misty squealed in delight and rushed over to Ari and rubbed her face against his, purring loudly. Lexi slithered over to Ari, very happy at the thought of a hot spring. Due to her massive size, hot baths weren't common. At best was usually lukewarm pond/river water. Lexi, being a reptile, was vulnerable to the cold as it could send her into sleep. Any colder could put her into hibernation. She hissed happily. "Fantastic, especially if you soak with me, Master." Lexi said.
Ari started to walk off. "Of course. I could use a bath."

Keara grumbled, believing the words were directly at her. She was used to flak, however, whether it was her cold attitude or eldritch appearance confused her. Nevertheless, she quietly agreed to the terms.

"I'll spare you my presence for tonight."

She said in a half-sorrowful tone, clearing her throat as soon as she realized it

"Besides, dark magic takes a toll on me. I must recover in privacy."

In truth, she dreaded moments like these. Moments when she was alone. But it was necessary. From her teachings with her mentor, she must do her best to do good and shun the darkness, yet tonight she embraced it when fighting the paladin. She must atone.

"See you all there."

Keara says as she quickly turns to leave, hoping to find a quiet place to begin her punishment ritual. Maybe she may paint something afterwards, as a gift of good will to the rest of the party. As she turned to leave, she gave one final glance to all of them. What a ragtag bunch, she thought. Maybe her mentor will finally be brought back to the living...

...Oh! That curious man.

She immediately turned around, locking eyes with the strange man. She faced him directly, crossing her arms

"Impressive fighting. Something tells me you've seen Illithi before?"

She couldn't move out of the way. Seconds before the crash, Vale let go off her glider. Without her weight, the updraft blew the leathery wings of the glider higher than the griffon, away from the crash. Then the crash happened. To the huge creature, it was only like soft padded punch given by a bunny. To Vale, she felt like she hit the rocky mountain when she first practised flight again. She had let her left shoulder took the most impact. Her decision, though saving her from broken ribs and punctured organs, rendered her left arm useless. Vale fell from the sky.

Stunned, she wasn't able to make the melodious whistle needed to control the wind. With no other choice, Vale weakly pointed her left hand to the ground, and casted a simple spell.

Spell: Condense Air

The spell was a basic for numerous offensive Wind-based spell such as Air Blade and Air Shot. Vale instead used it to condensed the air below her, almost all the way to the ground. The air slowed down her fall, though it couldn't stop her completely. She fell. Tree branches grazed her arms and tore her clothes.

She crashed. Vale could feel her vision glowed blurry. Her body screamed in pain, but she had no energy to scream for it. Through her blurry vision, she could see a figure, his hand emitting a greenish white aura, sitting next to a man.

"White Magic Caster," mumbling those words, Vale fell unconscious with a smile.

Aseal listen to the those around him as he finished looting the corpse. He found nothing of interest on his person, except for the coin purse he was going to offer to the tavern for the damages. He crossed the arms of his fallen enemy giving him his last respects, ”Wollahs evarg”. The words he whispered cause the ground beneath the corpse to open dragging the body into the earth, leaving no traces of his existence.

As he rose from the ground after laying his foe to rest with his comrades, the cloaked flayer spoke to him. He stared at her for a moment with his good eye and merely shrugged, “I’ve seen many things in my life but a Illithi is not one of them. I’ve read many books and tomes since my childhood and only came across them in stories and lore. In truth, I'm actually impressed I’ve got the opportunity to meet and chat with you. Much more pleasant than a talking squirrel. ” With a gentle wave, he moved forward to the Prancing Pony with coin in hand. "Till tomorrow morning take care. I'm going back to the tavern to nurse my thoughts in ale."
GreenEyedStranger GreenEyedStranger

Ari’s offer to head to the next town over to consume alcohol on his coin was tempting, but he was in no mode to travel more then he had too. He paused for a moment to gaze at the woman who introduced herself as Anna Dwanne, The White Witch. Interesting, such a curious title. Even though she looked fragile to him, he could sense a greater power of strength in her, “Thank you for the assistance.” He paused for a moment trying to think of something else, but nothing “Please, get some rest, my l...."

His words were cut short with the sudden emergence of a woman who descended from the sky. His eye widened in bewilderment at the event, “To seven hells it's raining women now.” He glanced at the sky searching for any more signs of fallen maidens; truly he a foreigner to these lands. His attention was pulled back to the woman as she mumbled something about ”White Magic Caster” just before falling unconscious, “Hey don’t fall asleep on us.” He rushed over to check on her, but notice the lady had a bit of a smile on her face, “She seems fine a bit banged up on her landing. Is she a friend of yours um… Anne was it? ”

"Heed each word in quietus, cease your interactions and behold."
note; interaction thru telepathy
She was caressed with presence. It had steadily embraced her with a familiar sonority, which ultimately surmount into a comfortable overwhelming. One that seemed to resonate with her individual being. Was this an effect of her prior use of dark magic? No, no - surely not. Though it certainly held the same energies. She was vigilant still. Yet, more the presence grew, the less things were in motion. Was she falling unconscious? No, she was still upright, still conscious. She pondered on her thoughts in trance, oblivious to those around her. Time seemed convoluted, she was locked in haze.
Until it spoke.

"I am Molyoz, consumed of hunger and nourished by enigma."
She was possessed with shock.
Each word was spoken in some ancient dialect, carved in rhythm of morbid cadence; it was almost musical. Yet what romance was existent in melody was suddenly parched by profound discomfort. Every utterance was met with pain. Not enough to hurt - yet noticeable. She could not understand its unfathomable contortions by ear, but definitely by mind. The being was telepathic.

"Allow your torment to shine your pity to its sharpest gleam, for you swell with heartbreak and desolation."
The more it spoke, the more she noticed how detached words seemed to struggle through strangulated screams.
What was this entity?

"Wield your nature! Then with it, I shall mentor you in the grandness of your power."
Were these words weaved by the fabric of deceit, or were they brandished in truth?

"You have no place in their stead, so come; I shall shatter the burdens of prophecy, feast on distress and resurrect my disciples in the gilds of their greatest temptations. My word is sacred vow, to marble heaven and hollow hell."
Could he really appease the contract of these bounds?

"You must only submit."
There was some brief respite, allowing her to charter the wonderment.

"Spread this word to worthy dead then embark to my shrine."
With that, the quintessence vanished, yet its mark did not.

Anna Dawnne
"See you in the morning then." Kylesar1 Kylesar1

"Anna." Jenzo Jenzo

She replied, as she got up from her leaning of the slanted wall of the tavern. The lady that fell next to her surely did surprise her, and she thought she was all done to be tucked in peacefully too. Forgetting to answer the man's (Aseal) question, she motioned herself towards the lady, laying her on her back, before kneeling down next to her. A fracture in several points of her left arm, followed by a dislocation at her left elbow was the worst she had with her. A concussion, damage to the mind would also be a worry, but not life threatening. And then there are cuts that have torn her clothes in many places, and minor bruises generally around. She (Vale) seemed fine enough to be carried to a room to be treated, away from opportunistic privy eyes.

After carefully examining her with just her eyes for a few moments, she looked herself towards the innkeeper, a man who seemed to survived the ordeal. Obviously he survived by running to the back of the Prancing Pony, into the rooms.

"Is the rooms behind still available ?" She voiced to the man afar, the innkeeper was stuck for words, but simply nodded in response. "Could you get one for me please ?" She responded to the innkeeper before turning to face the man (Aseal) that have popped her the question.

"Ser, I'll need your help to carry her to the room." She referred him as ser, as she have not yet known his name. But regardless of whether he helped or not, she would still have her brought into the room. Jenzo Jenzo

Laying the lady on one of the bed, she would make sure that they're alone. Locking the door would be her next step, before she stripped the lady off her clothes, even the inner garments and begin the elaborate healing process.
She begins by Lady the lady on her back, and putting her arms to the side, with her back supported by a rolled up towel, and her head by a pillow. Using the anaesthetic spell, she used her fingers to expertly shift the bones on her left arm. The least thing she needs is the bones joint together weirdly when she applied the healing. Popping her elbow back into its socket, she made sure that her fingers are alright, before checking the other spots of her body for any wounds she missed earlier. Also that the strands of cloths will not be stuck or interfere onto the wounds as they close up, becoming stuck inside her flesh, a common occurrence for healing in the middle of battles.

When those are done, she proceeded to channel healing magic from her palms, placing them to the side of the lady's head, putting her head injuries as a number one priority. After feeling the completeness of health, she motioned her palms to her chest, before travelling down to her legs. Watching as her palms travelling down her body, the bruises and cuts closes up near perfectly.

Lastly, she worked back towards her left arm. Slowly moving from her collar bone to the shoulder caps, and then sending ti down towards her fingers, she watched the swells from her arm receded, as well as somewhat been able to see the bones coming together. Massaging her arm, feeling the position of her muscles and tendons, as well as its full motions with its grip and fingers, she is satisfied that the lady before her is now in full health.
Damafaud Damafaud

When she is done, she covered the lady with a light bed sheet, before slumping herself onto the only chair across the room. The entire process took at least an hour, and nearly all of her magical reserves, and physical fatigue. Resting her staff right beside her, and covering herself with a spare bedsheet, she shuts her eyes, and let fatigue led her to her sleep. (ready for timeskip)

Aseal nodded in agreeance to Anna’s request. Carefully he lifted the unconscious sky maiden into his arms and carried her off to the room the healer had procured. Laying the unconscious woman on the bed, he quickly ushered himself out to allow the healer to work. The man would remain in the tavern for the night and consume his fill of Ale till it was time to lay down for rest.

Allibi Allibi @Damafaud

However, sleep wouldn’t come so easily for him. He found himself plagued by the nightmares of past battles long fought. The screams of those fallen soldiers forever burned within his mind. With only a few hours of rest, he would entertain himself through the night till the groups gathering. His activates consisted of playing chess by himself, to sword fighting with his shadow like a child and reading books that were around the tavern halls. Until finally he sat down and wrote letters to his fallen comrades. Each letter address to one member that served under his command. He wrote about his day and how each of their families were doing. He continued to write until the time of the meeting was upon him. Before meeting with the others in the morning, he would cast the stack of letters he wrote to his fallen brethren into the fireplace. Hoping his letters would reach them.

Alreos
South of the Palace of Pestilence

As people of the village looked up, they saw a raging image in the sky. A brown dot, far away, leaving behind a trail of white smoke that lingered behind for several seconds before dissipating. A mechanical construct that was called an airship.

"Alreos, master," Sammaster called his master's name without heed. The god already said it was alright, so Sammaster didn't fear to do so. "I've noticed something odd."

"Odd?" Standing on the bridge, the golden knight was looking forward. He didn't look back as he spoke with Sammaster. The bloodthirsty knight didn't understand emotions properly, so he found many things odd. Amos compared Sammaster to a glorified child that throws tantrums, except this one has the power to make them dangerous. But despite that, a child needs his authority figure and obeys orders from them, especially if that authority figure is very harsh.

"You're kind of like a trickster."

Going on about me, again? Alreos thought, disappointed. "A trickster? What's that and why is it so interesting and odd that you would point it out?" During his stay in this new world, Alreos hadn't heard this term yet. It was fresh. But he still didn't turn to face Sammaster.

"A rogue deity that uses their powers for fun, by tricking people."

"I am in no way a trickster. I prefer direct confrontation."

"That's why I said 'kind of.' Unlike other gods, you don't have much pride. You could not care less about the opinions of mortals."

Alreos nodded. "True."

A dwarven navigator approached them. "My lord. We're nearing the--"

"Excellent!" Alreos, without warning, turned to the left and took a running start, leaping above the safety railing and over the edge of the airship. Sammaster stood, slightly surprised, then followed in the same manner. They drifted downward for several hundred meters until they were close again.

"My lord, can you remind me the purpose of this crusade?"

"For fun, but also to determine what manner of freakish, eldritch evil is tormenting this land. I'm really curious!"

They fell another hundred meters until Sammaster spoke up. "How are we going to land?"

"I'll take care of it - don't worry for even a moment!"

Alreos snapped his fingers. Suddenly, a set of ghostlike, orange wings appeared on his back. Same went for Sammaster, but his wings were black with red veins visible throughout them, reflecting his spiritual state. Both of them began flapping their spectral appendages. Despite what the laws of physics said about force, the flapping of the wings managed to slow their descent to the point where they hit the ground softly with barely a sound. At that point, their wings disappeared.

Sammaster moved to a forest clearing to scout, while Alreos was looking around the landing site.

Half a minute passed and the two were followed by a squad of Ravinian paratroopers.

Alreos felt the source of energy and started moving in its direction. Molyoz would vaguely feel an extremely ancient and powerful presence not far away suddenly pop into existence, trying to establish contact through telepathy. "Hello."

Keara eyed the man oddly before walking away. Just as soon as she walked out of vision, she immediately fell to her knees. What was happening?! Her head felt as if it was splitting open. She knew she hadn't started the punishment ritual yet. This was something else.

She started screeching before hearing the voice, her tentacles curled upwards in pain. Though in great pain, she could hear the words. It wanted her to serve it.

Pain, suffering, anguish. Words she was all too familiar with. How easy it would be to give in and follow this strange voice... Though painful, some part of it comforted her.

She looked up before shaking her head

"Mentor..." She muttered out through the pain.

She was tempted, but not fully convinced yet, trying to respond with telepathy

'I will find you... Soon.'

She tried to contact the entity back. The temptation was strong... Perhaps this entity had the secrets to reviving her mentor... But for now, she would remain on the current path. Until this entity showed more power.

Feeling this was enough punishment, Keara decided to head back and find a secluded place to sleep. She would meet with the group in the morning.
