- — tragedy of Nebecia
It's been nearly thirty years that Emperor Randolph has ruled over the Nebecia Empire. He was beloved by all, even by the five kingdoms that were part of the empire. Randolph kept peace between them with a treaty that they had all signed and if there were ever any sight of war, he'd squash it immediately.
The Nebecia Empire was a place of harmony and camaraderie, at least it was with Emperor Rudolph at the helm. Now, with his illness continuously getting worse, his wife, Empress Harriet has decided their eldest child must prepare themselves for the throne. Leila is the eldest of six children, at just twenty-six they are learning all they can to take over the Nebecia Empire once their father passes on. Of course, there's bound to be jealousy amongst the royal children, and there has been. Harriet has tried to calm her other children down, but some are just too far gone in their envy.
Eventually, the beloved Emperor does pass away, leaving his wife and children behind. The eldest is now up for the crowning and is to throw a week long party banquet in celebration. However, when Leila turns up dead in her bed the first night of the festival, suspicions rise and everyone turns against one another. Who killed the Empress to be? Why did they do it? Everyone is a suspect and no one is innocent.

It is tradition in Nebecia for all kingdoms to attend the crowning of anew Emperor or Empress. Once the Emperor passed and word was sent out, the royals of each kingdom packed up and were on their way to the main estate, which was known as Old Nebecia. The Kings and Queens of these lands brought along their children as well as their childrens' ladies in waiting and knights. It was the only way to remain protected.
The five kingdoms are as follows; Stavaria of the North, Metia of the East, Audirus of the West, Vinem of the South and Soryn of Central. Each kingdom has their own families and own dramas, however when the heir to empress is assassinated, their dramas fall to the back burner.
Stavaria of the North is ruled by King William and his wife, Queen Melinda. With their five children, they believe that all are equal, even the village people. Well, they like to think they believe that anyway. King William still has the rule in place that his children must marry royal or they'll have no chance at the crown. How do they earn the crown? By presenting their water powers to the royal court and being chosen as the most powerful.
Next we have Metia of the East, a more rustic land that has recently lost its king and therefore is ruled by Queen Ivanna, who is more well-known as Ivanna the Huntress. There are rumors floating about that she killed her husband, however no one is brave enough to accuse her. Many fear for whoever shall marry her eldest as she could end up assassinating them as well. No one knows what really happened to the King, but one thing is for sure, Ivanna is as cold as they come. This kingdom harnesses the power of fire from a gift given by the very first Emperor long ago, who claims it was gifted to him by the gods.
Audirus is the earth kingdom and is calmly ruled by the King and Queen equally, which may be why it's so prosperous in the agriculture department. Of course, the magic that flows from their elemental gem has to help too. King Dominic and Queen Reyna are what the Stavarian rulers wish they were when it comes to equality, they want their children to marry for love rather than status.
The Kingdom of Vinem is a bit stricter than the rest, even though you'd assume them to be like their element. They only allow their children to use magic to help their people rather than for fun, plus they've been known to do arranged marriages before the Emperor outlawed them a few years back.
Finally we come to the small kingdom of Soryn which is located almost directly in the center of the Emperor's land. This kingdom has the magic of the sun, moon and stars and are most powerful at night. Soryn's Queen, Elyssia, lost her husband last year and is still grieving his loss. Her children are as well, however they're just trying to keep their mother in good spirits.
Of course, there were other events that weren't so dim that were held in Old Nebecia. The Empress' Ball was one of them, in which all kingdoms eligible Princes and Princesses attended to mingle and meet with others of their stature. Most of the royalty knows each other and some even have history, but this story is far from a rom-com, instead it's a romantic drama that takes place over the course of a week.coded by natasha.aboutlorespotsrules - the star castWhile most characters will be royalty, there will also be a few spots for knights as well as ladies in waiting.

001 This will be a literate - adv.lit group so think at least 3 paragraphs per response, however you decide to divide it up in your writing. Along with this, a writing sample will be part of the application process.
002 Must be 17+ to join the group, it's just comfier for older members that way, nothing personal.
003 No one likes OOC drama, so if you can't keep it IC only, this is not the group for you. Nothing characters do are personal to the player behind them, at least they shouldn't be.
004 You must have and keep up with Discord as this is where all OOC convos and planning will take place.
005 Be kind to each other. I can't express this enough. You never know what people are going through and if roleplay is some sort of escape, so please, just be kind.
If anyone has any questions, suggestions or otherwise, please let me know! Each of the direct royals (princes & princesses) will have a power based on which kingdom they come from! Please pm me or comment below and I'll send you the discord ooc. Hope we have fun!
