Fantasy The Titan

Gian frowned, shaking another large aquatic bug into the tank with the long spiked weapon. She angled her head down, running the still-mumbling bot's words over in her head. She cleared her throat.

"I do not know what a street is, but I apologize for thinking what I did of you. I have yet to become accustomed to speaking mechanics, let alone thinking ones." Gian looked thoughtfully through the waters they were fishing in. "If the others think of me as a trained savage, they are not wrong. It is a good assessment. I did not know what a computer was until I was well into my 19th year. My hammer is tipped with the skull of a beast I killed with sharpened stone. Savage is a good word."

She turned to the bot with her eyebrows raised, trying to soften her expression. "This is work I am accustomed to. I was born in nature like this. Perhaps Liz placed me doing this work because she doesn't trust me. Perhaps she placed me with you because she doesn't trust you. Perhaps she placed me here knowing the wilderness is what I am most comfortable with. One cannot gauge the thoughts of another. At least, I certainly have trouble doing so. You seem to be having less trouble than I if you understood my thoughts."

Gian turned her gaze back to the aquatic insects, scooping another one up with the weapon. The music the bot was playing seemed to fill the air with its dramatic rising and falling. "But I do not dislike Isek, and I don't think the others dislike him either. I also do not dislike you. I am wary of you, I can not lie, but I do not dislike you. Perhaps once I know more of you and your mechanic brethren, my caution will be lessened. Try to understand, I come from a land of deadly beasts and fighting for survival; wary is my default state."

Gian sighed, rubbing her throat. That was more than she had spoken in a long while, and her vocal chords expressed their irritation with her. "Perhaps you do not understand me. That is alright. I will do research and try to understand you. My apologies, again."

After the crustaceans are caught, Marin8 moves the skiff to a cliffside covered in trees. Half the Porter Robots exit and begin stripping the trees of fruit as the skiff moves over the ocean. Below shapes larger than a human are bobbing on the surface. Marin8 withdraws two harpoons and uses one to stab into the neck of one of them. The remaining Porter Robots drag it out of the water and begin butchering it for meat.

Gian was somewhat taken aback by the swiftness of the bot, observing as it hovered over the dark waters. She noticed the large aquatic creatures swimming under the platform. They looked similar to Reban, but they swam. On her planet, not many creatures swam- it was far too dangerous in its frigid waters. Gian realized as the smaller bots cut into the beast that it was larger than she. She wondered if, since they were going to take them in anyways...

"Marin8, I am going to touch one," Gian said, feeling like she should warn the bot out of courtesy because of her snub of it earlier. She immediately began shedding the heaviest of her armor, removing her chest plate and boots but leaving on her vambrace, greaves, and environmental suit. Her Fierhammer hit the ground with a thud, along with her communication device and the spiked weapon Marin8 had lent her, before she leaped into the water with a loud splash. Bubbles rushed around her ears as she pushed to the surface, taking a large gulp of air. Vaguely, she recalled Marin8 informing her that the aquatic insects had been poisonous, and hoped that these creatures wouldn't be. The Water-Rebans didn't seem to know how to react to her, confused by an aerial intruder, so Gian took advantage, diving again to wrap her arms around one of their thick necks, feeling an extremely hard substance covering its lower half.

Once again, the creature remained mostly calm. Gian wondered what kind of life it lived to not react to being put in a choke hold, but she supposed there couldn't be many creatures on this planet bigger than it. It whistled at her, low and bubbly, before rising to break the surface. Gian took another gulp of air and shook her soaked dreads out of her face, cinching her legs around the Water-Reban. It whistled again but remained near the surface, meaning Gian wasn't pulled underwater again.

She frowned. She may have been looking for a quick wrestle.

In all honesty, if you were ask the young captain what he thought of his Second Mate. He’d say exactly what the little service bot had said. He’d tell you that she was a savage hunter, however not in a derogatory or insulting aspect. It’s more his way of describing how she was able to fight and deal with combat. Ezro knee Gian to be able to sneakily and tactfully take down even the strongest of enemies on her own, but as well as this she could up front beat and brutalize her target into submission without a second thought. So yes, she was a savage hunter to him, but she was more than that especially considering her shining rank of Second Mate. She was a close friend and an ally that Ezro trusted dearly.

Before heading out Ezro nodded his head to the departing party, more specifically Gian, before turning and guiding the way toward the storage cache. All in all it was just himself, Don and the couple service droids they had brought along to help carry the loot. As well as this there was a hover skiff to make the transport of goods all the more easier. What was even better was that it functioned automatically which meant while they kept looting it would dash back and forth with the many loads.

Despite Ezro’s hard attempts to calm himself down he still couldn’t get rid of that uneasy feeling it was starting to show. His eyes were constantly moving side to side surveying the land almost as if trying to find some kind of danger or trouble. But there was nothing, only the grassy horizon to the left, the rocky horizon to the right, and the abandoned station right ahead of them. “All in all there’s two storage units, so I’ll take half of the droid and you take the others. Then we can split the load in two and make the work faster.”

With that said they pressed on, and with a little more time they eventually reached the station and Ezro had a couple of the bots hack into the two doors before there was a hiss of steam followed by the two doors rolling upward. With a pause, Ezro finally spoke up “let’s get to work. Make sure you take any and all items that are of worth to us in any way. I know you have excellent judgment when it comes to loot so ill not go into specifics.” Ezro said with a toothy grin before turning and beginning his work on the first storage cell.

As the young captain went along, he quickly activated his data pad and shot a message to the bridge. “How’s everything looking Liz?” While the message would be seen by both Ross and herself, he figured it best to address his First Mate as she had a better grasp on signals and warnings on the sensors.

Don saw the nervousness in Ezro and that kept him on guard, he had learned that if someone felt uncomfortable it was better safe than sorry. "Okay you rust buckets lets get to looting if it's high tech, expensive, or locked where taking it. Oh and I'll send you a list of certain items to prioritize." He quickly sent the list to his bots which included what he needed to repair the thermo regulator, build the gun the cap wanted, improve a few of the ships systems, and any alcohol or cigars. He walked through and helped load the skiff all the while keeping any eye out for anything.

Ezro went about doing the same process with his droids in updating them with a list of general ideas of what to look out for. Cooking material, ammunition, weapons, fuel cells, everything that a Pirate could need. While the bots went to work, Ezro went about scavenging for items he found interesting. There was several old and faded maps he thought would be useful for Ross to update the systems map considering Ezro didn’t recognize any of the charts. As well as this there was several random armor pieces strewn about the room that he loaded up. It looked like it could make a full set. Depending on the sizing one of the crewmates could make good use of it. There was several fire arms and melee weapons that would do them no good in the long run, but there were a small amount of more recent and advanced weaponry. Maybe Don will want to take a look at it later, they could have parts he’d need or he could simply improve and update them.

Ross Skye
"Aye aye." Ross absentmindedly responded, still in a cheery mood as Ezro headed out of the ship. He pulled a lollipop out of his pocket and began to suck on it, observing Gian attentively as she dove with Marin8. The crinkled wrapper shifted slightly in his hand as he tapped his foot. Times like these reminded him of when he was a kid, watching television mindlessly with suckers just like this one in his mouth.

Upon receiving the message from Ezro to stay sharp, Ross lazily turned his head to Liz in anticipation.
"I already did a scan. You can do another, if you want." he mumbled, rotating the stick in his mouth.
