(Name: Darla Rae McCasey, Age: 16)

School. That one word make the young dark haired woman roll her sapphire eyes and let out a sigh. Parking the bike, Darla clambered off the leather seat and chained the bike to the bike rack, making sure it couldn't be stolen before standing full height and staring at the public school that was already crowded with students and teachers and other staff of Trials High School. Trials High School...How fitting for the name of the place, for most certainly getting through the day of school was a trial, and especially today, the first day of school, as a freshman, Darla, with all the other freshman's of her class this year, would certainly be tried and trailed in those hallways, at their lockers and in the classrooms.

Preparing herself for the nagging teachers and annoying classmates, sixteen year old Darla combed a hand through her long hair and made her way to the double glass doors, that were already littered and dirty with hundreds of handprints smeared and smudged everywhere. Thank you for immune systems. Darla thought as the young woman entered, instantly being hit with the smell of cologne, perfume, and mixture of the ones who didn't know a thing about body odor. Not to mention the chatter and laughter of friends seeing each other after their long Summer break of doing who knew what.

Somehow however, Darla made it through the school day, and as the young woman left, the backpack stuffed with books and other items in which the young woman needed, Darla headed back out to the bike racks, mindlessly unchaining her bike and clambering on, very aware that because of the Winter hours, despite it still being only September, the Sun was setting early, giving plenty in the way for darkness and its creatures to roam...

Name: "Velarx the spellshifter" As he's called.

Velarx was born a vampire, from vampire parents, a very rare thing indeed. He inherited his mom's crystal white hair with his dad's pale white skin and red eyes. Velarx inherited a combination of his parent's powers, he is able to charm a non vampiric girl into seduction, though he loathes that power. He also has the ability to cast certain death magic spells.

Now Velarx always admired the mortal women, swearing to feed only on his love, and other sleeping men. So he spent his time stalking this particular girl he fancied for the longest time. Until one day, he was sure. This day he stalked her starting at sunset, sneaking out as the usual. He had decided then that he would use his powers to lure her into a trance, then feed. He was also thirsty from blood lust and couldn't wait to find a man, so this must have been his motive for feeding on the poor innocent girl.

He stood in the shade then, activated his powers, and when she passed, gazed into her eyes.

Unknowingly, the freshman girl did the normal routine of heading home after clambering onto her bike. But yet, as Darla passed an everyday part of the route home, something felt...different, different enough even that it made Darla stop and look about herself, pausing when the young woman saw someone watching her, staring intently at her.

And yet, as the girl met eyes with the stranger, Darla suddenly felt a strong wave of...something...and held her breath for a few moments before suddenly toppling over like a doll, the girl landing on the blacktop road with a thump, unable to move, yet awake, feeling a bit of fear at this notion, not having a clue as to what was going on or why...

Velarx motioned for her to come into the shade, so she could be fed upon, but then, regretting what he did, vanished and lifted the spell, looking for some sleeping man to feed his bloodlust. Why did I do such a horrible thing to a women, and why did I feel so weird as she approached? He thought to himself the same question over and over.

He reappears at his home, a dark and hollow spot underground, away from his parents. with a standard twin bed to sleep in, not preferring the coffin like normal vampires, "I guess I will have to try again, tomorrow. Maybe catch her before she enters her home," He thought out loud, as is his custom for being alone.

"I will have her..." As he closed his eyes and went to sleep for the rest of the daylight.

Once under the trap, Darla stood slowly, and not bothering to fix the fallen bike, the young woman made her way over to the shadows in which the vampire was waiting for her, a blank look in the young woman's eyes as Darla stood before the stranger. But then, suddenly, just as Darla approached the man, the strange feeling vanished and Darla suddenly found herself repeatedly blinking and wondering why she was standing here instead of riding home on her bike.

But then, at school the next day, Darla felt rather puzzled and confused by last night's events, sure that they had happened. What in the world had that been all about...? Wondered the teenager, already piled high with homework on just her second day of school, having been unable to answer her parent's questions about why Darla had been a bit later then usual in her time to get home from school.

Still, at least by the time school once out for the second day that Tuesday, Darla hadn't forgotten the strange incident, but at least put it in the back of her mind for now, and this time, on the way home, the girl encountered nothing strange that evening, the Sun already setting so early thanks to the Winter hours that time was now set as.

Reaching home, Darla parked her bike by the door and leaned it against the house, pausing at the front door to fish out the key to unlock the front door, not realizing that a certain vampire would be waiting for her once again...

And there he was, standing behind her that night, having followed him, "Listen, I'm sorry for what I made you do mor- I mean uhh..." He paused, confused at his own words.

He stood there thinking, thinking that he would never meet his dream of never loving a mortal girl, but then, he realized he could win this way, "Anyways, my name is Velarx. I'm sorry to have disturbed you that morning." He eyed her nervously, knowing what a woman's reaction was for meeting a vampire.

Well, this was certainly unexpected. Letting out a surprised gasp, the young woman, dropped the keys to the front door and whirled around to face the one who had suddenly spoken to her, quite surprising Darla, the young woman's heart beat picking up to a fast pace in surprise, the young woman batting her long dark lashes at the man.

"Who are you?!?" Came the reply, the girl obviously startled by the sudden appearance of this total stranger, the young woman frowning when the man tried to apologize for last night while Darla had been on her way home from school, although Darla couldn't say for certain what this man was talking about.

"I told you my name is Velarx." He hesitated, "A... Uh... Special person who's come to have an... interest in you." He was getting to be nervous.

Yet when he looked into her eyes, he couldn't help but feel something. Something that he couldn't quite put his finger on because a mortal would never do anything involving love with a vampire, though he sensed this was different. He had followed her, he knew her, in a creepish way albeit, but he knew her. That's why his feelings were high for this moment of time.

The girl blinked at him, clearly not buying any of this, and slowly began to inch away from this man, this stranger trying to convince Darla of some wild story. "Get off my yard creep." The girl demanded, swallowing hard, trying not to show any more fear towards this man, knowing that it would be a weakness, Darla planning on moving towards the hidden baseball bat that Darla knew her parents kept hidden under the bushes for the possible event such as this. Especially when this man admits that he has an "interest" in her.

"What do you want from me?" Came the next question, the girl still slowly inching away from this man, whom Darla didn't know from eve as far as she was considered, clearly not knowing what this man really was.

He had to put her under his spell, take her home, and that is exactly what he did. First to concentrate in her eyes, then to activate the spell. I will have her, he thought. Knowing that this mortal girl was his life to this point, at this moment he didn't know anything else but a one-sided love that he would have to force on the other participant.

Yet, as he did this, he felt guilty. He didn't want to do it, but what other choice would he have? "Come with me." He said, having her under his spell. The weak will of the mortal girl was surprising to him. Yet, he wished for more. Teleporting them back to his home, using some of the magic he had inherited, He released her. Wandering in curiosity what she would do next.

It was strange once again, and Darla suddenly felt out of control of her body, shuddering uncontrollably up and down her spine as the power took over her, the young woman closing her baby blue eyes for a few moments before opening them again, and upon hearing the command, the girl slowly walked towards the man, staring up into his eyes expectantly, as Darla had the first time upon being under the spell.

But then, suddenly, they were in a very different location, and Darla found herself snapping out of the spell, whatever it was, and blinked several times before looking around, not remembering how she had gotten here before her eyes landed on the man standing next to her, those blue eyes darkening like a thunderstorm that was building.

Uh oh. She was mad. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. However, what's done is done. Velarx sighed and explained, "I have been following you mortal... In search for the perfect girl. I think that you are it." Slowly mouthing the words so that she could understand, "Please don't be angry for we are together now."

He was a little nervous at stating his true intentions, but in the end he felt comfortable with it. He walked over to a chair and sat, motioning her to do the same next to him, "Now that we're here, would you like to talk?" He had never interacted with mortals before, but thought this was appropriate.

When the stranger finally said somewhat of what the man was wanting, Darla stared at him with wide angered blue eyes. Just what was this man getting at? 'Together now?' What the heck did Velarx mean by that? The young woman narrowed her eyes at him and pressed her lips into a thin hard line before crossing her arms over her chest, Darla's book bag still slung over her shoulder.

"Talk about what? You've kidnapped me!" The young woman snapped, clearly not pleased at all at the man now sitting before her, motioning for Darla to do the same.

He looked down, staring at his feet, "I know... But I'm so lonely here, and I have no choice. I'm so fascinated with you mortal women..." He ranted, "All I need is a friend."

Clearly a lie to himself, or was it? Clearly he's overdoing it, or was he? Maybe if he let the girl go, or get some revenge, or give her a gift, "Anything you want just name it." He was aiming to please her, as much as he could under the circumstances.

For a long while the girl was silent, but then, something the man said made Darla look up at him curiously. "What do you mean...'mortal women?'" The girl wondered, those blue eyes clearly angered with the man still.

"No. No never mind. You're crazy. And anything I want right now is to go home." The girl snapped, not wanting to play any more of the man's games that he seemed to be trying on her.

"I am a vampire, don't take that as a shock please, I mean you no harm though it may not seem like it." He sighed and put his feet up, "Anything besides going home? I could make your wishes come true in the night as it is now, as best I can."

He looked to the ceiling of his home, pondering, how am I going to make this work not that I have her?

When the man told Darla what he was, the girl blinked in surprise at him, opening her mouth as if to say something, but yet, no words came from the young woman before Darla closed her mouth, narrowing her eyes darkly at the man.

"I told you what I wanted. You didn't specify when you said anything." The girl growled, wiping at her eyes, feeling tears of fear and other emotions pool in her eyes, threatening to spill over.

He sighed and stood up, after placing his feet on the floor, "Keep in mind I will still be watching you, you cannot escape me, but I will grant your wish." He would be crying if he had a normal water supply in his body, but alas he was a vampire, and could not muster such things.

He stood there, delayed a moment from depression, but sent her home after a few moments of deliberate thinking, he would not go back on his word, and would not displease the mortal girl. Loneliness again. He would have to wait for another opportunity to capture her, and not make the same mistakes again.

The young woman gratefully returned home, surprised that the man actually did it, took Darla home. But still, the girl wasn't about to start complaining any time soon. Still, Darla knew that the girl faced a problem, seeing as the man had said that he would be watching her, a thought that made the young girl shudder.

During school, Darla was distracted from her studies. But then, during P.E. class, Darla put in a lot of pent up energy that day, enough to get a good grade from the teacher, although normally P.E. was not Darla's best class, the girl's thoughts centered on this man claiming to be a vampire, trying to find the man wherever Darla went about the school, wondering if the man really was watching her constantly...

Velarx sighed, not being able to follow the girl in broad daylight, but he tried. He was sitting in a tree, watching the girl assert herself inside her class. Getting slightly burnt by the tiny waves of sun, but it was worth it to see her. His body hurt, but he longed to fall in love with this mortal girl, and both participates.

He longed for her name. The name of beauty itself as far as mortals go, in his mind. He was hidden well, and stayed there until school was out. Now he had to get out of the sun, it was burning too much and soon he would turn to dust. He ported away just as the girls gaze met his, he wished he could have stayed longer.
