There are a few aspect to characters you need to know. The first thing is there are skills on different levels. Each character has the base skills they start with and then the ones they learn and improve. The different skill levels are master expert skilled novice. The different levels determine what you have to role to make the skill work. master you don't have to role, it will always work, expert must role higher than a 2, skilled role higher than 3, novice role higher than a 4. Your character starts off with 1 master and expert, 2 skilled and 3 novice skills. Skills are utility only, no combat. Through out the game you can learn more skills and improve ones you already have but can only have 2 mastered skills and 2 skilled.
Next on the need to know is that your character has martial. Martial is like skills but for weapon. Your character starts off with one martial which means they know how to use one weapon type. If you don't have a martial in a weapon type you can't use it. characters can learn up to three martials. The different types are: pistols, rifles, clubs, small blades, bow, long blades, polearms, explosives, traps, duel small blades, duel pistols. If you land a hit depends on the stats of the weapon you are using. If you have a weapon that takes ammo make sure you keep track of how much ammo you have.
On to the third part of this list. Everyone has basic stats. These stats determinant different things about your character. There are four stats: strength, will, health, and agility. Strength is the physical strength of your character, the higher your strength the more you can lift and harder you can punch. Will is mental stability, the better your will the less likely it is you will get scared or surprised. Health is how much damage you can take before you say goodbye to the world. Agility is your ability to land a punch or dodge one. If you are attacked you get a dodge role unless its a situation that you can't dodge, such as a bullet hitting your face. Each stat starts at 5 and you get 8 points to distribute throughout your stats. When you have to role for your stats I will give you a number you have to hit or get higher than and you do your role and add that number and the number of your stat together. With the health stat if it reaches 1 you pass out and heal while you are down, or if someone heals you. If you get it below 1 or get hit when you are down then you die.
When you post a character put a number between 1 and 20 next to name, try to get close to the right number to go first. Those closest go first those farthest go last.
This is the character sheet
