The town of Ombreville, South Carolina, to some it’s just a regular town, but to others, there are rumors and mysteries to be uncovered in the town. About five years ago, an event kept reoccurring, involving people visiting, or lack there of, and people who left the town. The rumor goes that those who leave go missing, never to be seen or heard from again, and those who enter the town, get stuck living here. Since these events took place, the mayor decided to enforce special rules upon the town, leaving some to question what is going on, and leaving the others to not believe in these rules or what has been rumored to be going on. But who’s to say things aren’t happening in the town with certainty, and what other mysteries could be going on as well.......

Chapter One: Powers Abound!

It was the start of a brand new year. The children were heading back to school from winter vacation with brand new classes in the high school, and adults were heading back to work. The town seemed to be like it was every year since the events took place, but something seemed a tad different about this year. However, it was just the start of a brand new day, and what could possibly go wrong?

At the mayor’s house, Jaydin was seen to be waking up in his bed. He threw the covers off of him, and put his feet on the floor, as he stretched and yawned. His room was pretty big in size, but not too big, and he seemed to have everything a normal room would have, even a television and gaming consoles were in there. But as he got up, he looked at his huge window, and sighed. “Another year, another chance for people to go crazy.” Jaydin said as he got up and went to go get ready for the day.

(We are just starting out, so everyone should be waking up and getting ready for school, and whatnot. School hasn’t yet started, so just have everyone head on their way to it. :))

Leo rose slowly from her bed, rubbing the sleep from her eyes before turning to look out her window, smiling at the shapes formed in the frosted glass. She began her morning shortly after, making her way to the bathroom to brush her teeth before getting dressed, wondering to herself what she should have for breakfast. She was going to need the fuel to get back into the swing of highschool after being on winter break.

Evangeline Trust

Evangeline woke up from a deep slumber to the sound of birds chirping. Winter break is over, and that means it's time to go back to school. Sure, Eva is probably one of the... more intelligent teens, but really, she hates school. She despises it.

Sighing, she slowly got up from her bed, immediately feeling the cold wind hitting her face. "Great," she muttered, shuddering. She quickly raced to restroom, and once she arrived, she stopped. Huh, she thought. Was it just me, or did I just... Eva shrugged it off. She could've sworn that that trip took only a second... but it was probably her imagination.

She then grabbed her white toothbrush, smeared some toothpaste on the brush part, and started brushing her teeth. "Evaaaa~" a girl's voice shouted from outside the restroom. Oh, gosh. The girl's head poked in. "Can you help me with my homework?" Eva sighed, and while looking away, she shook her head, shyly. The girl pleaded, but Eva still refused. "Fine," the girl huffed. "I can see why your parents didn't want you anymore and brought you to this orphanage."

Eva’s heart dropped all the way to her stomach. A tear dropped from her face once the girl left. Why did she bring that up? Worthless b*tch. Eva then wiped her tears, and finished brushing her teeth, just in time when our supervisor called, "Breakfast~"

Caleb Hunt

Caleb flipped a page from his book, a lot of things tossing and turning in his thoughts. He woke up early, nervous to start his first day of school, since he's been homeschooled his whole life. If he goes to school, that means more time to get away from his father. Caleb hates learning, but if it means getting away from his father, then boy, he's in.

"Caleb," a maid knocked on the door, and then opened it. "Breakfast is ready." Caleb looked up at the maid, whose name is Aria, and nod. "I'll be right there, Aria." She nods as well, and walks out. Sighing, He puts away his book, and started to walk down the large marble steps of the mansion.

Caleb arrived at the dining room, and quietly sat in his seat. His father's already there, his posture straight and cutting his toast with a knife and fork. Seriously, who does that? "Good morning, father." He looks up at him. “Good morning, Caleb." Caleb then started to eat his food quietly, tension in the air. "Caleb. I expect you to be number one in that school. Got it? You must be an overachiever. You must be top. Number one. Did I make myself clear?" Caleb slumped his
shoulders and looked at him in his green eyes. "And straighten your posture." He straighten up, afraid what he might do to me if he doesn’t. "Yes, father." He nods. "Good." He gets up from his seat, and walks to his room to get ready for work. No "thank you" or "I love you son" takes place.

Taking a deep breath, Caleb turn to the maid who cooked our food and say, "Thanks for the food. It was good." He gets up from his seat, and starts walking to his room, once he’s in there, He plays on some music, hoping that it'll drown out his sobbing.

Aaron sat bolt upright in his bed. Cold sweat dripping from his face, his heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest and his breathing shallow and rapid. It happened again. Every night he goes to bed and wakes up the next morning having no recollection of whatever nightmare that scares him so much. Is it that he can't remember or doesn't want to? He calms himself and sighs "another year". He looks around at the small shack he calls home, the mismatched wood and corrugated steel used as walls and a roof. It wasn't anything special, but had everything he needed and was his own place in this world. He slowly prepared himself for school, his movements full of lethargy. His breakfast consisted of a boiled cup of noodles and his lunch wasn't much better. As he sat on the poor excuse for a couch, it hit him. What felt like a hot dagger had been inserted into his skull. His ears pounded, his eyes focused and unfocused rapidly, nose burning, it was if his senses had been turned up to 11. He scrambled over to his bedside table and grabbed the orange bottle, ripping off the white cap with his teeth and quickly swallowing the pill. It was his medication for what the doctors called 'Sensory overload'. They didn't know why it kept occurring nor whether it could be cured, all they knew is that the medication he was taking was like a temporary numbing for him.

After what had been an average morning for him, Aaron finished getting ready, packed his bag and got on the rusty, but reliable, bike he used for transport and began his journey to school. Knowing nothing of what was about to occur in the town of Ombreville.

Beep. Beep. Beep. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

The incessant drone of a digital alarm went off, stirring Yuri from her sleep. She emits a light groan as she reaches over from the warmth of her sheets to shut the alarm off with a click. She had a mental dispute with herself, whether or not to just lay in bed for five more minutes or get up and go get breakfast. It was a ritual at this point, one she didn't like to indulge in much. After a few more seconds of internal debate, she sighs and pulls the covers away from her and getting out of bed. As she stands, she looks into the large mirror hanging on her wall, opposite the doorway. Her pink hair was frazzled with many stray hairs standing up or to the side of her head. Her pajamas, a blue and pink polka-dotted set, were slightly wrinkled for being used for eight hours of dormancy. After looking for a few seconds, she yawns and rubs her eyes, trying to get the gook out as she slowly trudged over to her dresser.

Opening the top drawer, she picks out a pair of underwear and matching stockings. White panties and black stockings are a combination that can't go wrong, she thinks. The next drawer she opens is the third from the top. Many skirts and various shorts were inside, including one that seemed to have a kitty emoticon on it. However, today was a school day: wearing a cute pair of shorts like that might get her in trouble. She instead opts for a simple, plaid red skirt, reminiscent of an actual school uniform. She had a soft spot for the pattern and color; how could she refuse? Finally, the second drawer opens and, without looking, Yuri pulls out a white dress shirt, short sleeved and with various buttons. She would normally change her bra, but she decided against it this morning. It isn't like anyone would notice or care, she thought. One quick turn around to the mirror reveals that the uniform is complete. A happy smile crosses her face, lighting her face up. With all's said and done, she heads out of her room and down the stairs to the kitchen.

Upon entering, she notices that it is barren. The vision of her father sitting and reading a newspaper, her mother cooking something on the stove, and her younger sister having trouble sitting still: it all appeared in her head. That's what she saw yesterday, but not today. Rather unusual, she ponders. Did she oversleep? A quick glance at the clock denies these suspicions. Today wasn't a day that her father went into work today and regardless of that, her mother would still be here, trying to keep a fussy four-year-old distracted as she cooked. Yet not a soul was in sight. Further prying after school would be necessary. For now, Yuri wanted toast. She couldn't think properly without food in her stomach.

Walking towards the breadbox, she takes a couple slices of rye bread and places them into the toaster nearby. It wouldn't take very long to pop, but she decided to go into the fridge to pick her spread for today. She didn't enjoy butter particularly well, unsalted or not. Jam would be for another day, and they were running low, anyways. Eventually, she settled on a small, already used tub of cream cheese. She knew it wasn't that great for her, but she needed to gain some weight as it was. Puberty was not kind to her and made her metabolism skyrocket.

DING!

The toast pops out from the hot irons of the toaster, appearing a delicious golden brown. Yuri grabs a paper plate from the counter and brings the cream cheese with her, picking up a butter knife along the way. She grabs the toast and nearby hits her finger on the scalding hot metal, which is definitely not something she enjoys. The toast, yes. The burns, not as much. She quickly tosses them onto the plate, a few crumbs splashing on the recyclable material. As expected, she then lathers the toast with a generous amount of cream cheese, enough to cover it, but not too much as to appear thick. She then retraces her steps backwards: putting the knife in the sink, picking up the paper plate, and then walking to the fridge and putting the tub back, sealed tight. Content with the decisions she has made thus far, she sits down at the table, placing the plate in front of her and grabbing a napkin from the convenient dispenser next to her. She takes a bite of the toast and makes a happy noise as the flavors touch her tongue. They were very delicious and in this moment, she felt like a culinary expert. Simply incredible flavors for two simple ingredients. She then finishes her delicious breakfast, she throws the plate and napkin away, left satisfied.

After her shenanigans in the kitchen, it was time to head to school. She goes into the foyer, slips on her shoes - which were tiny black dress shoes with two cute red ribbons on them - and grabs her knapsack. It was already full of supplies to endure the long day of school. Then she feels something strange. A peculiar sensation. The feeling of an itch about to be relieved a thousand times, building up inside of her. It was erupting and she couldn't hold back.

Achoo! ... THUD.

Yuri had sneezed and, in doing so, blinked into the wall. She was not used to the random teleportations her body caused when there was a sudden jerk or spasm. She rubbed her head slowly, moaning in pain. It wasn't the first time she sneezed and hurt herself. Shrugging this slight mishap off, she gets up and heads out of the door, but not before turning around one last time to see if her family was there. Still nothing. She sighs, walking out of the door and shutting it.

Click.

After he got ready for the day, Jaydin went downstairs and found his sister, Talia, eating breakfast in the kitchen at the kitchen table. Jaydin smiled at her, “Good morning, sleep well?” Jaydin asked in a caring voice. Talia looked up from her meal and smiled back, “Good morning, I slept pretty well, only just a bit nervous about the new year.” Talia said to her brother in response to his question. Jaydin then went to go get some breakfast of his own, and sat down across from Talia. It was true that it was nerve racking starting a brand new year and the second half of a school year. New classes, new people, new problems. But Jaydin just shook it off. Talia looked outside the nearby kitchen window, and noticed the weather. It seemed to be partly cloudy, but the sun was also bright already. Jaydin looked outside as well, and noticed that the evergreen trees in the backyard were still growing strong.

After they were both done eating their breakfasts, Jaydin went to wash up the dishes, as Talia help get everything ready for school. Even though they lived in a fancy mansion house, their father didn’t believe in house servants, and he believed that his children should do all of their own work around the house, for the fact that it teaches them how to live normal lives.

It didn’t take long for the two of them to finish up, and they walked to the front door together. Jaydin looked at Talia, “I take it that Hisoka will meet us at school. Shall we walk there, or have our driver take us?” Jaydin asked Talia. Talia thought, and it was still winter, so she decided to take the second option. “We should probably let Mr. Jones take us. It might be cold outside.” Talia said. Jaydin nodded, and went to go contact Mr. Jones, their car/limo driver, the only person their father hired for them, for they needed to get around when he was busy.

After a while, and a car ride later, Talia and Jaydin arrived at the school. It was a huge high school with three floors in the building, and it seemed to be in the upmost of care on the surface, Class hadn’t started yet, but Talia and Jaydin both went their separate ways for the time being and went to go find their lockers. Talia had her locker on the second floor, while Jaydin had his on the third floor. Each floor contained classes of all grades in the school, but the lockers mainly were organized with 9th grade being on the first floor with half of the 10th grade lockers, on the second floor was the rest of the 10th grade lockers and half of the 11th grade lockers, and the third floor contained the rest of 11th grade lockers and all the 12th grade lockers. Class would begin soon, but not too soon, Talia and Jaydin just liked getting to school a bit before class to get situated for the day, especially on the first days.

(You all should be arriving at the school now, just class has yet to start and won’t start until probably my next post or the post after that, depending on what everyone else does.)

Once Aaron was inside the school grounds he dismounted, adjusted the bag on his shoulder and raised his hood up over his head so that it partly covered his face. He didn’t chain the bike up as it was so rusty and old that it’s worth more as scrap than an actual bike.

As he walked towards the school he paused looking up at it, his hot breath rising on the cold winters morning. “Head down. Don’t stand out. Don’t draw attention” he says steeling himself for the year ahead. He knew people around the school and their names but there wasn’t really anyone he could call a friend bar a select few he spoke to occasionally but that was the way he liked it, for now at least.

Aaron makes his up the stairs to the third floor where his locker is. Ensuring his hood is up and not making eye contact. Once he finally reached his locker he opened it finding it nearly empty as always, the exceptions being a few tins of nonperishables and his notebook, the one containing all of his thoughts and events of his school life. Aaron removes the notebook and replaces it with the books he won’t need until later in the day.

Throwing his bag over his shoulder Aaron makes his way towards his class, slowly making his way through the increasing slew of other students and teachers, their faces a blur as he walks by. Before he knows it he’s there. He quickly finds his seat in the corner of the room next to the window, places his bag next to his seat and finally removes his hood. ‘Phew, another uneventful journey into school’ he thinks to himself as he removes his notebook and begins writing to pass the time.

Evangeline blinked as all of the children from the orphanage left for school, including herself. "Goodbye Charlie, Leo, Stephen, Turner, Chris, Emma, Emily, Ava, and--oh," the supervisor stopped to stare at Eva's large bluebell eyes. She stared back at her brown, chocolatey eyes. "Evangeline," she finally spat, looking at her outfit for school. It's her usual wear, since she doesn't really have much:

(Without ears and tail)

"What are you wearing," she said, looking at Eva. She looked down, shyly.
"My usual wear..." The supervisor snickered, rolled her eyes, and pushed her out the door. "That was rude," Eva muttered, carefully walking down the street to school. The beautiful morning smell of fresh rain and grass immediately attacked her nose. The air was a bit chilly and wet, as if it had been snowing.

When Eva arrived at the school, she stopped to stare at the wonderful building, a bit chilly, for she could not afford a coat or jacket. She shuddered, her backpack on her back. Here is goes, she thought. Another year of school.

Taking a deep breath, she opened the doors of the school, taking a few steps in, and immediately felt warmer.

Caleb Hunt

Caleb was still feeling a bit anxious and nervous about his first day when he was in a limousine that his father owns. He looked out the window at the beautiful sight. He has never been outside in the real world. He had only seen movies of it. The real thing looked so much better in his point of view. He casually fixed his black tie, rubbing his hand through his thick black hair. This could either go really well, or really bad.

Caleb wondered if there would be any stereotypical popular girls like the ones in movies. The ones that are cheerleaders, popular, rude, white, and blonde. He wondered if there would be jocks, Hippies, nerds, emos, etc. He nervously tapped his left foot gently on the ground, still staring at the window.

"We're here," the driver said, pulling up in front of the school. Caleb cringed, since it was very sudden.

Embarrassed, he got out the limo, and the driver took off. He looked at the school for a long moment, and noticed a boy with brown hair entered the building, and shortly after, a female with long white hair entered as well. Caleb held in his breath. His stormy gray eyes widened at the very sight of the school.

Alright, he thought. Here goes nothing. He held in his breath, and walked in the school.

The walk to school was rather eerie for Yuri. There weren't any other words to describe the feeling she felt in her gut besides such. It was a feeling of being unable to know what lies in store, but more sinister, more foggy - for lack of better words. The illusive nature of this feeling wrapped itself tightly around her mind, constricting all thought and making itself the center of attention. Yuri furrows her eyebrows, trying to make the feeling vanish, but to no avail. Paranoid thoughts entered her mind, like that of "Is my family dead?" and "Am I all alone?". The latter seemed likely, due to the empty streets leading to the main road of the school. Seldom she saw another person who wasn't related to her walking down these streets, and it never bothered her much until today. The former thought kept pressing itself into her conscious, invasive and sinister. Yuri speeds herself up, almost in a run, trying to distract herself. Being so skinny and small meant she had little stamina. Wearing herself out would help as then she wouldn't think, and her mind would calm.

What started as a power walk turned into a light run, and then into a full on sprint. Lactic acid spurred in her thighs and calves, burning at the tissue and muscle supporting her legs. It hurt a lot, but at least the thoughts stopped. She grinds to a halt, bending over forwards and trying to catch her breath. Sweat beads from her forehead and plops on the sidewalk in front of her. The sidewalk... there weren't any in full condition where she lived. Quickly, she looks up and spots the school in front of her. A half-tired smile curves on her lips. One of pride and satisfaction. Not only did she beat the evil thoughts, but she managed to actually run to the school today. Yuri begins her walk again, heading towards the main entrance of the brick and mortar building. She would be able to see her classmates again and maybe, just maybe, have a good day.

She opens the door and walks inside, practically hopping over to the water fountain nearby, and takes a long, well deserved drink of cool, refreshing water. It was a lot better than the tap water at home, that was for sure. She indulges herself a little longer, about twenty seconds worth, before finishing and wiping the excess dribble from her lips. With that horrific escapade out of the way, her school day could finally start. As she turns around, she notices another student enter the school.

Jaydin was seen at his locker on the third floor, as he was picking up everything he would need for his first two classes of the day. “Let’s see, notebooks, pencils, pens, note cards, et cetera, et cetera. Yep, looks like I got everything. Now the first class this semester for me looks to be pre-calculus. Shouldn’t be too hard, since I’ve been great with math thus far.” Jaydin said as he revealed his first class of the day. He then grab his backpack over his shoulders, and closed his locker and locked it. He then headed down the stairs to the first floor, where his class was located. It was a hassle to have a locker on the top floor to only go to the bottom floor, but that was why he just had to make sure he had time for both.

When he was downstairs, he noticed that people were still coming into the building, and noticed a girl with white hair, and a boy with brownish hair walking into the building. Jaydin wasn’t sure why he noticed them out of everyone else, but he didn’t question it. They seemed to be people who would, at the very least, have a nice nature to them. (;P) ( Emi Nebulas Emi Nebulas ) But Jaydin just started walking towards class again.

(I am going to start classes on the next post or the post after that, just to give everyone more time to get into the school and get situated with things. :))

Leo walked into the school and made a beeline for the stairs. Her locker was up on the top floor, so that had to be her first stop. She glanced at her schedule for what had to be the tenth time this morning. Pre-calculus. First floor. Go all the way up the stairs just to turn around and go back to the bottom. Whose idea was that, anyway?

(( WakingDawn96 WakingDawn96 I kinda just threw her in the same class because I wasn't sure what else to do... XD ))

Evangeline was walking ahead, with a lot on her mind. Everyone treats her like dirt for no reason... why? Why did the trip from her bed to the restroom only take her like a second? She quietly twirled a strand of her white hair as she was walking. Her boots clanking on the floor. The noise echoed in the halls.

A few seconds later, she bumped into a boy with brown hair and green eyes. Ouch!” She groaned, falling on her buttocks. All of her books fell onto the floor and the papers inside flew everywhere. Her white hair draped in front of her face, and the result of that is her vision is all white.

Eva whipped her hair back and immediately stood up, bowing apologetically since she is Japanese, but then again, this is the U.S. “I’m so sorry!” She kept saying. She bent down and started to pick her items up, embarrassed.

Caleb scratched his head, looking at his schedule that his maid gave him.Pre-Calculus,” he muttered, reading his first class.Where the hell is that?” He thought aloud, groaning.

He looked around for any clues. Maybe even a sign that says “Pre Calculus! Over here!” He sighed, looking around.

His green eyes fell on a beautiful girl with lively pink hair. She was near a water fountain. Caleb’s face lit up. Maybe she can tell him the directions? Then again, Caleb has never talked to girls and lovely women besides the maids in the mansion. This could be totally different.

Caleb bit his lip, wondering what to do. Finally, he decided to talk to her like she was a guy, and walked up to the girl. Hello...” he waved awkwardly. “Do you know where Pre-Calculus is?” He waited for an answer.

Yuri turns around, noticing a boy before her. Somebody wanted to speak to her? It wasn't unusual, but it was also rather early to engage in conversation, despite the question being very simple. In fact, she knew where it was.

"Yes, I do!" she chimes, her voice a bit louder than intended. Noticing this, she blushes and clears her throat. "Sorry... I didn't mean to shout... but I do know where that class is. I go by it on my way to lunch every day. Would you like me to show you?"

Before waiting for a response, she holds her hand out to the boy, an eager grin on her face.

“Yes, I do!” She said, her voice a bit loud. She blushed and cleared her throat. “Sorry... I didn’t mean to shout... but I know where that class is. I go by it lunch everyday. Would you like me to show you?” Caleb nodded, and at the same time, she holds out her hand, grinning.

Caleb smiled, nervously. “That’ll be great.” He took her hand, and shook it. “Caleb. Your name?”

Caleb has never really been fond of sharing his last name in public. Since his family... no... his whole family tree is full of law enforcements and such. If he does share his last name, people would go ahead and have huge expectations of him, and probably even kiss up to him since he’s rich and all. It’s happened many times over.

The pink haired girl shakes his hand with enthusiasm, though confused why they weren't already walking. She supposes introductions would make more sense, given the fact she did just offer her hand.

"My name is Yuri Nakano," she responds, "and I'm the best chess player in my grade!"

She was quite fond of boasting her skills in chess, seeing as her father and older sister played together. Yuri didn't want to be excluded, so she asked how to play and soon, learned with great interest. If this situation were a play, it would be a pawn moving up two spaces.

"So, Caleb! What grade are you in?" Yuri inquires, beginning to walk down the foyer and into the main hall.

Caleb Hunt

“So, Caleb, what grade are you in?” She asked, beginning to walk down the foyer and into the main hall. Caleb quickly followed her. “Eleventh,” he replied, proudly. “What about you?” While waiting for an answer, he looked around the school.

There were many water fountains, classrooms, and such. Large groups of people talking to each other and hugging. Couples kissing. Seriously, get a damn room.

“So, how does... school work?” He paused for a long moment. “I’ve been homeschooled up until now. It’s been suffocating, actually. I barely go outside. I don’t really have many friends...” He looked up at her, her bubblegum hair is the first thing he notices. Then again, is bubblegum pink? Caleb doesn’t know, since he has never had bubblegum, let alone gum, in his life.

"I'm in tenth grade!" Yuri exclaims again. As Caleb mentions his predicament, she seems confused. There are people who have school at home? How had she not heard of such a concept? If that were the case, then maybe she would have been homeschooled. She enjoyed her life in her home much more than at school, simply due to it being a safe haven. The Nakano household was one of serenity and peace. Even though families do fight, seldom do they hold grudges for very long. The thought of being homeschooled by her loving mother made Yuri drift off into a fantasy as they walked, but shortly snaps herself out of it, physically shaking her head.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I was just imagining something." she apologizes, chuckling at her own hubris, "Well, this school is quite nice. There are plenty of people around and all the teachers seem knowledgeable." Yuri emphasized seem because she knew that one of her own teachers was not the brightest light on the Christmas tree. "Generally, you go to a classroom, sit in a desk, and learn what the teacher tells you about. Since you're going to pre-calculus, you'll be learning about... stuff before calculus? I don't know, honestly; I haven't taken that class yet. But I imagine it is really neat!"

Yuri had a soft spot for mathematics, though her report cards said otherwise. While not very versed in the numerical arts, she found the concept fascinating. As they walked together down the hall, she catches Caleb looking at her hair.

"...is there something in my hair?" she asks.

Coming out of nowhere, the girl with white hair bumped right into Jaydin. Jaydin was taken back in shock by this, and noticed how the girl kept apologizing and trying to pick up her things that fell to the floor. Jaydin just decided to help her pick up her things, and smiled at her. “Hey, it’s okay. First days of school can be overwhelming and you can easily get lost in thought about even the smaller details of the day.” Jaydin said helping to pick up the girl’s items and handed them to her. He then looked at her again, “My name is Jaydin, Jaydin Herbert. My father is the mayor of this town. As such, I like to look out for the people of this town, no matter who they may be.” Jaydin said introducing himself to the girl with the white hair with a kind hearted smile.

Evangeline bit her lip, her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. “Hey, it’s okay. First days of school can be pretty overwhelming and you can easily lost in thought about even the smaller details of the day.”

The boy started helping her with picking her items up. He handed some of her books and papers to her. “My name is Jaydin, Jaydin Herbert. My father is the mayor of this town. As such, I like to look out for the people of this town, no matter who they may be.” Eva blushed. She bumped into the mayor’s son on her first day? She timidly looked down.

“M-my name is Evangeline... m-my friends call me Eva...” she paused. “I lied. I don’t have any friends...” she muttered. She looked back up at him, embarrassed to show her face. She has barely talked to anyone, actually. Suddenly, a warm, mushy feeling inside of her grew. It felt like butterflies where in her stomach. What is this?

“I have to go to Mathematics, or else I’ll be late!” She exclaimed. Eva’s a person who enjoys learning... or informally... “a nerd”.

“So sorry again!” Eva wanted to run, but she stopped, because a wonderful fragrance hit her nose. She’s took a large sniff. “Is that... lasagna from the lunchroom?” She asked. But... that’s impossible. The lunchroom is no where near this floor...

Eva shook her head, apologized to Jaydin for like the hundredth time, and fled the scene.

“...is there something wrong with my hair?” Yuri asked, noticing Caleb staring at her pink hair. Caleb quickly threw his arms up and replied, “N-no! I was just in deep thought.” Technically, he wasn’t lying.

Caleb bit his lip. “What subject do you fancy?” Caleb smiled. “I fancy art...” his smile quickly turned into a frown. “Though my father was never fond of it. Thinking it was a waste of time...” he muttered. He shook his head, trying to get rid of the memory, but it kept coming back to him.

"Art? Caleb, don't waste your time with that nonsense," Father called out at Caleb one day. "I expect you to do your very best in any other subject besides art. It's not even useful. You won't become successful by doing... art!" Caleb frowned. "I'm doing perfectly well, father. Ask Aria--"

"Aria said that you got a ninety-eight percent on your exam that she gave you." Caleb's cheeks flushed. "And that you missed a note while playing Beethoven's song." Caleb looked down. "Father, I'm only eight... you don't expect me to know chemistry yet--"

"You must be an overachiever!"

"But father--"

"No buts!" There was a loud smack, and Caleb was facing the other way, his cheek red and swollen. Father fixed his tie, and left the room without even a look of pity.

Caleb blinked, and he was back into the present. He looked at Yuri, and apologized. "Sorry, I was in my own world..."

Yuri senses something off about Caleb. She can't put her finger on it. It wasn't that he was a bad person or if he did bad things, but something about him didn't feel... right. Regardless, Yuri has met sketchier people, and they ended up hurting someone. She felt Caleb wouldn't wish to hurt someone intentionally. Finally, she returns to the question he had asked.

"Fancy, eh?" she teases, "I quite fancy a good ol' spot of tea, guv'na!" She attempted a Cockney accent, but sounded more like someone who was Japanese trying to imitate an Englishman, despite never hearing of England in their life. She then blushed, feeling embarrassed for him. Sometimes she just blurted things out without thinking.

"But in all seriousness, I do like history. It's very interesting to learn of what happened in the past, before you or I were born." Yuri responds. "My family comes from Japan and apparently, my ancestors served under emperors! Isn't that cool?"

Yuri looks at Caleb, hoping to get a positive response. She was quite proud of her heritage.

“Fancy eh?” She teased. "I quite fancy a good ol' spot of tea, guv'na!" She attempted a Cockney accent, but sounded more like someone who was Japanese trying to imitate an Englishman, despite never hearing of England in their life. She then blushed. Caleb laughed. He had never laughed like this since years.

"But in all seriousness, I do like history. It's very interesting to learn of what happened in the past, before you or I were born."
Yuri responds. "My family comes from Japan and apparently, my ancestors served under emperors! Isn't that cool?"

Caleb whistles. "That really is cool." He smiles. "I've also been fascinated with history. I've taken a liking to Ancient Greece." He started to laugh again. "I've actually had a phase. I used to be obsessed with Ancient Egypt." He ran his hand through his coal black, reminiscing those times. He looked back at Yuri, with a cute smile. "Do you like music? My favorite song is 'Romance De Amour', but the piano version."

"I love music!" she gleefully exclaims, smiling back. "I like piano music, but only when I'm studying. It helps me concentrate. I really enjoy waltz, though. My father has really old records from his father's father and he used to play them a lot." Yuri seems impassioned in this discussion about music. Her finger starts to sway like a conductor's wand to the tempo of a waltz. One two three, one two three, one two three. "My favorite waltz is called Waltz No. 2 from Dmitri... Sho...Shota...Shoza... uhh..." she stutters, struggling to remember the name of the composer. "Something Russian." Little to her knowledge, she began stepping as if dancing to a waltz, walking two steps normally, but with a slight lunge on the third. She heard is subconsciously and she very much enjoyed it.

Soon a vision entered her head. A stunning ballroom lay before her as the lights from the chandelier gently flickered above. Couples from all walks of life were dancing to this slow, melodic song. Handsome, dashing men in tuxedos with corsages and women wearing flowing cocktail dresses and gowns. Yuri saw herself in a dress similar to her hair color and heels that made her seem taller, but not much. Then Caleb entered her mind, strikingly beautiful with his ebony hair and gorgeous complexion, warming her presence with a sincere smile. He mouthed "Would you like to dance?" to her and she simply nodded. In tandem, they waltzed together through the ballroom as the music picked up in a crescendo. In the real world, Yuri's heart began to pound hard. Her eyes dilated whenever she looked at him, and she didn't even notice.Yuri continues to fantasize until she forgets to focus and smacks dead center into a pillar, being taken aback as the music stopped abruptly. The fantasy ended and the realty sunk in. She rubs her nose gently and looks away, embarrassed once again.

"I'm sorry... I'm really off center this morning."

“Just one more little adjustm- Ow! Son of a -“ The young teen yelled out as he grinned his fingers noticing a little cut across his finger. Daniel had a routine of getting to school before pretty much anyone else as he was constantly working on projects in his robotics class. The teacher often unlocked the door early for Daniel knowing he was eager to get to work so that he could show off the any college scouters that would come across his creations. Recently he had been working on making a miniature robotic dog at of parts he got out of junkyard to show that he could work with any sort of material, however, while attempting to fix a small problem within his little robotic friend he ended up cutting his finger on a sharp piece of metal that he forgot to smooth out.

Hearing other students in the hallway he realized the time for class had been arrived sooner then he thought. While it was a small cut and he wasn’t bleeding much he wrapped his finger up in a paper towel as he left the room to go his next class. A bunch of students began to wave at the young lad which to keep his finger covered simply gave a simple nod followed by a warm smile as he made haste towards his classroom. Quickly entering he noticed that several students had already gotten quite comfortable despite it being the first day which brought a smile to his face. Most often dreaded the first day especially since most would have gotten complacent over the summer and not keep up their studies as they should, so it gave Daniel a warm fuzzy feeling to see some were actually enjoying themselves. Keeping pressure on his cut finger Daniel took his seat among his peers as he began to look at his finger to see if the bleeding had stopped.

First day back at school baby! Bob swaggered through the halls staring down anybody who happened to glance at him the same time he glanced at them. As usual he didn't go to his locker because that took too much time and went straight to his first class of the day. His ears heard a small ping and hsi eyes locked onto a nickel that must have fallen from someone's pocket start to roll down a stairwell. Bob sprung into action shoving people out of the way in hot pursuit, catching it with his foot before picking it up. "Score" Bob whispered to himself as he turned around and went back upstairs.

Upon entering the classroom, Bob looked to the back row, and upon seeing some seats were open he plopped down in a seat putting his bag beside him. Makes it much easier to go on your phone during class when you sit in the back. "Hell yeah dudes" Bob mumbled to himself as he flattened out his flannel shirt and glanced around. Seeing some kid in a hoodie sitting in the window seat next to him, Bob leaned over saying "Hey my man, the names Bob. We're going to be seat buddieeeees!" extending a fist towards the kid for a tight fist bump.

Jaydin watched as Eva left him. Suddenly, a voice was heard behind him, “Wow, not even the first class back yet, and already you are a hit with the ladies. That’s my younger bro right there.” Hisoka said appearing from out of nowhere behind Jaydin. Jaydin turned around in shock and in embarrassment. “I don’t think I will ever understand how you can just appear out of nowhere like that. And the girl just bumped into me, and I just helped her grab her things, nothing more and nothing less.” Jaydin said informing Hisoka what really happened. Hisoka gave a cocky smile, “Whatever you say, bro. But that girl was cute, if you don’t take a chance here, maybe I will.” Hisoka said with a playful laugh. Jaydin rolled his eyes, “Oh please. Remember the last girl you asked out? She turned you down faster than anybody else’s business.” Jaydin said reminding Hisoka of a past experience. Hisoka looked at Jaydin, “Well hey, it was her lost.” Hisoka said with a smile. Jaydin then looked at Hisoka, “Well enough of that, let’s just get to class. You wouldn’t want to be late on the first day and hear from father, would you?” Jaydin said as he began to walk to class. Hisoka rolled his eyes and followe after Jaydin.

After a while. Jaydin and Hisoka made it to class. Jaydin sat down at the center front seat, and Hisoka sat down behind him. Jaydin noticed the time on the clock and class would be starting very shortly. He also wondered when the other students would finally all arrive in the classroom, and if anyone would seriously take a chance on being late already.
