Tradition had been holding the kingdom of Arcadia together for the past few centuries. Once the heir to the throne came of age, eligible young women throughout all corners of the country were summoned to court for a chance to secure the title of Queen Consort, competing in a Selection- in which the winner would get a crown and a prince for herself, televised for the whole country to see.
As the date for the current crown princeβs Selection rapidly approaches, inner tensions in the castle rise- though the royal family does all in their power to keep this away from the public. The heir apparent- charming, thoughtful and popular among the masses- seems to want nothing to do with the tradition, only going along with it due to his motherβs insistence, with no passion for his position. The King, whose relationship with his wife had very much deteriorated since his own Selection, seemed to favor the second son- bolder and wilder and set to inherit nothing. The royal family is divided, and the vultures at court can sense it.
With 20 strange women set to enter their lives, the plotting and scheming grows thicker. Everyone wants to end up in power, and they're willing to do whatever it takes to get it.

hi!!! thank you for reading this far! this is a plot loosely based off the series The Selection, with aspects inspired by a few other medias (Game of Thrones/ASOIAF, Mary & George, Succession). it would essentially follow the drama surrounding a complicated royal family as the heir to the throne is forced to choose his future Queen- in a very public spectacle.
for this story, iβm looking to write two different pairings- these can be either mxf + mxf OR mxf + mxm!
ROLES(bold=who iβd like to play!):
- the heir: the beloved crown prince, the eldest son set to inherit the throne. kind, diligent and charming, the prince hides behind this perfect mask to the fact that heβs become jaded and uninterested in his position.
- the spare: the second son, bolder and raised with much more freedom than his eldest brother. many in court believe he is the one that should ascend the throne.
- the lady: daughter of a wealthy noble family, beautiful, clever and talented, she would've been considered the βobviousβ choice for a future queen. the lady refuses to go back home empty-handed, and will stop at nothing to get herself up on that throne.
- the wildcard: unexpectedly, out of all his suitors, this is the person who truly catches the princeβs attention.
