The Savage Frontier

A somewhat post-apocalyptic Rp

1300x698_566_Lost_Road_2d_landscape_post_apocalyptic_picture_image_digital_artThibault_Fischer.jpg

Background:

The Apocalypse, that had happened was that the sun had moved closer to the earth due to a massive solar flare. The scenery is similar to that seen in the movie, The Book of Eli. As you'd guess with any apocalypse, many people died nearly eradicating humanity. But many pockets of people around the world survived and they confronted the "Wild West" like landscape that was presented to them. As you'd guess, again, that with any apocalypse, there has to be some kind of present danger. You got the Roaming Bandits, The crazies (Mutants, similar to those seen in The Hills Have Eyes), and some mutated animals.

Plot:

The plot takes place, nearly 2 hundred years after humanity had recovered from the solar flare. Towns have been established, some sort of order was made in some areas, and many "old world" relics were discovered. You, or your group starts of in the town originally called Jackson, Wyoming. Which is now called Jack's Town, ruled obviously by a man named Jack. There have been many posters or writings stating that a man is gathering a posse. This interests you, and you decide to go where the poster said to meet. At Jeff's Bar, at a table near the back.

Reeve had found his seat in the back of the bar and already grabbed his drink. He had taken off his mask, but his face was still hidden by the darkness of his hat and the way of the light. Taking a sip of the drink he had recently ordered, it had a tang to it, not to sweet, but not to spicy. He then leaned back in his chair, gas mask at his side, and watched the doorway, to see if any of his posters were successful.

Techy walked through the door Reeve was watching, looking around. She silently ordered bourbon, and walked over to Reeve, taking a seat next to him. "You... wouldn't happen to be the one that asked for people... would you?", she'd whisper.

The girl had an eerie feeling to her, but she seemed relatively kind. She sipped her drink as she looked up at Reeve's eyes, the kick already hitting her. There was an obvious expression of disgust on her face, but she didn't stop sipping. After a second of sipping she began coughing, away from Reeve's face, of course. The girl was well dressed in old-world military clothing, was bearing a large backpack, and on her side was a rare old-world device. In her pant's back pockets were sketches and blueprints, folded and stuffed.

Jared wandered through Jack's town until he saw a poster for someone getting a group together. "How much are you paying though?" He tore the poster down and walked towards the bar. Jared stopped outside the bar and slung his rifle over his arm. He pushed the door open and entered only to move towards the back and searching for the man that put up the posters. Jared set his eyes on two people at the back. "Excuse me... are you the man who set the posters up? And if so how much are you paying...i don't hunt for free."

Reeve looked at the small girl and laughed to himself. Obviously, this girl could not hold her liquor. "Yes, I'm the one who's looking for a 'posse'." He thrusts his right hand out to her as a gesture of a handshake, but is interrupted when another fellow comes through the door, obviously talking to him. He then put his hands down on the table and looked up to the man. "I was simply hoping that the adventure and the riches gained would be enough but." He reaches to his back pocket and grabs a small pouch of goodies, "Would you want ammo, scrap metal, coins, or..."

Leo rolled up in his stagecoach to Jack's Town "How barbaric of a name" He said as the guards waved him in and he stepped of the wagon. He found himself walking into the local tavern and saw a poster on the side of the bar. "Well, looks like I just found another way not to die" HE said as he walked in and located his employer. Leo noticed him speaking with someone, regardless he walked up and said "I saw your poster, I'm the guy for the job if you don't want every gun in a fifty mile radius pointed at your mercenaries." Leo held out his hand "You can call me" He waited for a moment. "Affliction" Leo stuck his hand out.

Jared pulls a small piece of paper out of his pocket. "Actually i work by contract." He tosses the paper and a pen at Reeve. "That says while i am in the group all profits are to be split evenly....if the contract is broken the signer is to be terminated." Jared smiles and leans onto a nearby wall. "So can i tag along....or are you going to just tear that piece of paper up?" Jared was testing the man to see how smart he really was. "So yes no maybe?"

Momo wandered through the streets, having just gotten off from her last job, she'd been stuck escorting some cattle baron's son to Jack's Town for the past two weeks, and the guy just didn't know how to shut up, he'd been talking her ear off the whole trip about his grand plans for the future, and he'd apparently taken a liking to her or something because the other 40 percent of the words that came out of his mouth were about how good an idea it would be for her to marry into the family after the job was done. But there was no amount of cash that could have convinced her to spend another minute with that guy, so the moment they'd arrived in Jack's Town she'd taken her money and wandered off on her own.

As she walked though, something caught her eye, a poster. Upon closer inspection her curiousity was piqued, it wasn't unusual to see these kinds of things floating around, but normally they were for escort jobs, with jobs being the keyword, this, on the other hand, had no mention of payment or compensation. A grin played across her lips, this could turn out to be something worth looking into...

A few moments later Momo found herself headed towards the bar designated on the poster, and was soon through the doors, and, spotting an already formed group at the back of the bar, she approached them, assuming they were the other parties interested in the offer.

"Hey there! You lot the ones looking to group up?"

Reeve looks at the other man who had just entered. This one was dressed up a bit, a diplomat? He shakes the fella's hand and says, "Yes, I'm the one who put up those posters. Nice to meet you affliction." He let go of the man's hand and looked down at the contract that was handed to him. He picked it up and tried reading it over, but he was having some trouble, which is odd, he usually has great eyesight. He then looks up at the man who gave him the contract, "Read it out to me, word by word, I don't want to be signing something I will regret later." At that he hands the contract to the man who had recently gave it to him. He then looks up to Affliction and asks, "Can you check to see if he is actually reading what it says, Like I said earlier, I don't want to sign something I will regret."

He heard the door open again, and this time another girl was walking up to his soon to be posse. "Ah, yes, and I'd be the one rounding the 'lot' up."

Techy was just watching, examining every other person wishing to join the group. She sipped again, and coughed louder then before, covering her mouth to prevent anything from coming out. It was a bad habit, she knew, but she couldn't help it. Techy looked back up at them all, and then refocused on Reeve, who seemed rather attractive.

She stopped herself on that thought and refocused on the entirety of the situation. She thought about pay, which for herself the adventure would satisfy her enough, but hopefully there was profit, money-wise or experience-wise...

Techy simply continued to sit and sip on the bourbon, which she coughed on every now and then.

"Not a problem my soon to b employer. Now, on to payment, I'd like to be paid in coins if possible." Leo said as he looked at everyone "Well, hello everyone, I look forward to you not killing me." Leo smiled and took out a bag of caramels, he began chewing them.

"Good to know." Reeve said as he saw the man took out caramels, "May I ask, but how were you able to obtain those, many of the old world sweets were melted, or had rotted. Only few people know how to make caramels. They are one of the rare pleasures this world offers. May I have one?" He thrusts out a hand in a cup form, waiting to see if he could acquire the delectable caramels.

"Well, found a group of bandits holed up in a Werther's Original plant, coerced them to fight somebody else, then picked from the ashes. You should see what it's like in Pennsylvania, if I don't die I'll take you up there, got some friends that way. Here catch" Affliction tossed Reeve a caramel wrapped in a golden covering. "So, what is it you need me to do, and how much will you offer for me to do it?" Affliction said chewing his caramel.

Reeve grabs the caramel out of the air and puts it in his pocket, saving it for later. "I'd like for a travelling group, one that goes on great adventures! Y'know like the ones in the Old World Books." He takes a sip of his drink, feeling more and more odd, "I'd pay ya with adventure and the riches earned. But for now, it'll be coins." He grabs 6 coins and hands 2 of those coins to everyone in the group. But then notes the one who had recently entered the bar and takes out 2 more coins. "Hopefully that'll be enough for now." He then sits back in his chair and looks to the man he had handed the contract back to. "Are you going to read it, I haven't got all day, I want to get out there." He says somewhat sarcastically, but then hears the girl cough again and again. "You know you really gotta learn how to hold your liquor."

Techy looked over at Reeve with a blush, "I'm sorry, I want to, but my body says no...", she'd reply. When she received the coins she simply would hand them back to Reeve, she didn't need them, as much as they would probably help. Techy would look down at her drink while she handed the coins back to Reeve, her blush growing just a little bit brighter.

She was a nice person, but shy nevertheless. She was still wondering whether or not to trust them, and was pressuring herself to stay quiet and simply just continue to sip her drink, which she did.

Techy coughed maybe only one more time, and the sips afterwards she was seemingly taking. Her mind felt satisfaction at the achievement, it had taken her a week.

Edward entered the conglomerate of rusted steel and broken concrete with equally trustful people building, a bar of some kind, Edward was never the one for drinking and just ordered a glass of water.

He scanned the building and deduced that the crown in the back were also here for the same reason.

Not wanting to interrupt any conversation he just leabed against the bar and sipped on his cup while looking over to the group and waited for their conversation to stop and join in

Momo took the coins, feeling the cool touch of the metal and playing them across her fingers for a moment, before dropping them into a small sack which hang haphazardly inside her jacket, taking a seat at the metal clinked with the coins already present in the bag. Taking a seat she looked the others over, the guy who was organizing the event looked to be competent enough, but the other girl and the fellow in the suit looked a tad... Off, so to say. They didn't particularly strike her as the type to interested in a venture like this, though she supposed at first glace, with the rabbit eared hood she always pranced about in, nor did she.

"What're ya talking about? She'll have a better time if she shys away from alcohol anyway. Waste of money if you ask me" She says, butting into the conversation the girl and organizer were partaking in, before continuing on to introduce herself. "Momo by the way, Momo Whitecastle, pleasure to meet you"
