Personality:

Katja is a complicated woman, whom neither likes or dislikes people. She can be very unsure of herself due to ongoing issues with anxiety and depression; of course medication for this was now nowhere to be seen. Crowds can especially be an issue for her. When she can temporarily forget her worries, she loves spending time delving into books; both fiction and non-fiction. She even does some casual painting from time to time.

Biography:
When she was 12, Katja was diagnosed with Scoliosis of the spine. This severely disfigured her, with her spine leaning towards the left hand side. It equally left her with severe pain. She had to constantly wear a back brace in order to prevent the spine from curving any more. When she was 17 and stopped growing, the doctors were able to approve her for surgery. They straightened her spine using metal rods; screws; hooks; and wires. This procedure fused her spine, thus correcting the curve.

Her parents were always extremely supportive, with whatever she decided to do. Katja was smart enough to go to university. However, this was not what she wanted. Instead, she started a dog walking and training business. This was a success right up until the apocalypse.

Personality:
A bright young man, Aspen is jovial and trusting. He always sees the best in people, though before the apocalypse he spent more time with his plants and running a business than socializing with his fellow man. He has a heart full of love, and it often leaks out of him like air out of a balloon, and he gives affection easily and freely. Often contemplative, can zone out while reading or watering plants. A bit self depreciating.

Short biography:
Aspen was born to a lovely family in a small apartment in the downtown of a rather large city. His father owned a plant nursery, as well as a landscaping business, and his mother worked as a therapist for higher end clients. He and his brother grew up knowing that they would support each other in taking over the business, and in the end, Aspen and his older brother Cypress split the business into two businesses as their clientele base grew, one highly successful landscaping business, and the plant nursery. Cypress got the landscaping business, Aspen got the plant nursery and greenhouse. There were no hard feelings there, in fact, Aspen and Cypress got along quite well before the apocalypse.

They haven't seen each other since, and Aspen assumes that Cypress is no longer alive. Aspen also saw his mother turn into one of the undead, and therefore has a healthy apprehension towards the living dead.

Before the apocalypse, Aspen got along well with his three coworkers in the plant nursery, Cordelia, Zachary, and Mitch. Mitch and Aspen went on a few dates, but it never went anywhere. Aspen never really had any luck in the dating scene, simply because he was practically married to his work. He cared more about the plants within the greenhouse than the people he dated, and relationships never went anywhere.

As a kid, Aspen was always found with his nose in a book, and was occasionally the victim of bullying, due to his interest in plants and living off the land. Instead of letting that close him off, he went the opposite direction, assuming that his bullies had bad home lives and needed some sort of outlet for their negative feelings. He was a B average student, and was part of a few clubs, including the track team in high school.

He went to college and got a degree in accounting, to help his dad balance the books and do taxes. He was a good enough student in college, though he was more interested in his biology classes than his accounting classes. His mother was more proud of him than his father was, his father having wanted him to study what he wanted to in college. His father was always more supportive of his dreams than his mother, who wanted him as primed as possible to take over the business for his father.

Short personality (at your leisure): Liam seems to be polite and kind at first glance. In actuality, this is a disguise for his cold nature. He’s quite unfeeling towards most people, in part due to his poor upbringing. Liam isn’t completely emotionless, though. He’s loyal to those he cares about, rare as those are, and sticks with his friends. He’s still a very “fly or fall” person, and his friends are likely to be encouraged to solve their own problems. Liam is still working through a personal tragedy, and can seem listless and inattentive.

Short biography: Born the only child of Jason and Melonie Conner, Liam grew up in poor conditions. He became harsh, and developed a mask of sorts to hide his feelings. When he reached adulthood, he left his wretched life and never looked back.

Liam swiftly got a job as a factory worker, and was well on his way to success when he (fatally, as it turned out) stabbed his foreman and skipped town. He disappeared into the criminal world, serving as hired muscle, when he met James. James helped him get out, and Liam was well on his way to becoming a better person when James died in a car crash.

Shortly afterwards, the apocalypse hit.

Short biography: After the death of his father, Matthew (or Mate, as his trail name) began his thru hike. Due to this fact, He didn't actually know the zombie outbreak was happening to the rest of the world until several days after the major cities had fallen. His first encounter with the reanimated was when he came to a road to hitchhike to the nearest store for a resupply. Two spotted him and chased him into a nearby disabled car for hours. He heard a rumor from a like minded hiker heading in the opposite direction that there was a safe place in an air force base a few states away. He has been heading that way ever since.

He fought in both Gulf Wars (he got his nickname there) before retiring from the Army and living deep in the middle of a forest where barely anyone would come to disturb him save for a lost hitchhiker once in a while. He's spent over a decade living in near solitude and adapted to it. High school linebacker James was always wanting to help others. He got into a fight with the principals son and got kicked out of school. After high school James became an EMT for the fire department. He married the love of his life and had a son, sadly one day they were heading home when James nodded off at the wheel for just a second drifting into another lane and hitting another vehicle. Both his wife and son were killed i the accident that left James scarred. His injuries left him unable to keep going with his career and he resigned. When the outbreak started James was on his was home from a dinner at his old fire chiefs house.
