In a world of magic and monsters, where one's magic inherent. This is a story about the exceptions to the rule.
In a world where ones magical ability is determined by the mana they are born with. Some people are suited to tasks more than others. Born with healing mana, instant doctor.
Born with ice mana, warrior/refrigerator for hire.
Born with dark mana, thief or assassin maybe. You get my gist. Most people are born with mana and they have to concentrate for their inherent magic to happen.
This tale is about those born "Executant" though in current days they are better known as "Performers." Why? Because their magic while versatile to the point of being potentially capable of anything... problem is it is done via a performance. Music, dance, acting, singing and many more methods some unique to the Performer/executant. Their magic is complex and powerful beyond imagination, but it is often mistaken as inefficient, ineffective, or useless in comparison to the common types of magic...
The difference between playing a drum as a catalyst for offensive magic vs a conjured ball of explosive fire being thrown at a target.
Performers had to be "good" at what they were doing and also needed live recognition that their skill was good, be it a audience or a single target.
It would look a tad like the examples below
the plot is about four or six performers forced into a band to save the world from a Executant whose magic is putting the world at risk. The Ringleader is able to manipulate and control anything within the stage he creates. Only other executants/performers have a chance at being able to resist the ringleader, only a terrific band has a chance of defeating the ringleader.
Hoping for four or five players able to write two paragraphs or more once a week.

Could be a jester using comedy and slapstick to break the concentration of others/make magic happen.
Could be a bard using a instrument, playing notes to make magic happen.
Could be a Singer whose rhymes become reality...
