This story takes place from two separate points of view.
Mankind.
Humanity has no knowledge of what really happened to the Atlantian nation,most assume it was nearly a myth. The massive city floating in the air above the Atlantic is both a source of fear and wonder. This is modern man, they posses advanced technology within reason and due to recent breakthroughs in genetics and robotics many have begun to transcend the limits of their human bodies.
(In otherwords genetic augmentation and cybernetics are acceptable)
Atlantians
The Atlantans left earth 6600 years ago in a massive city-ship.
They left in search of the source of their mystic powers. their society has returned triumphantly with the Mana Star only to find that the humans have scattered the Atlantian culture and broke it into the many ancient kingdoms, the Aztecs,the Egyptian, and the other ancient civilizations. The atlantians that were left begind to keep the planet in peace and prosperity while they awaited the return of their people had been worshiped as gods before the introduction of monotheism caused many to be slain and the rest to go into hiding.
The old Atlantian families are now rushing back to their home, there is a sense of urgency that seems to fill them all.
The Atlantian King has decreed that all human ties be severed
