The land of Skyrim, once a great and noble place, once a land of freedom, now taken by those who drive us into the dirt. Over the years we have watched this glorious land crumble, as The Legion submitted to The Aldmeri Dominion, and our ‘beloved emperor’ began to make changes that only impacted the way that we as the people of this great land lived. It changed the way we worked, the way we survived, the decisions we made, the businesses we ran. Things continued to change, and with the promises of compensation and positive results, of which were supposedly meant to be the rewards of our efforts and our ‘courageous work’ towards Skyrim itself. All this time later, and things still haven’t changed. Innocent people still die and more and more people suffer.
Some of us were forced into the life we lead now; the only chance of survival was to loot, steal, kill… As outcasts we worked towards one goal – Life. Life was what we wanted. They say it’s better to die on your feet than to live on your knees, and that’s what we decided to do. We made the decision that dying on our feet was a better option, to show that we stood for something, and to show that we were not a force to be reckoned with. Time flies no matter how old you get, and it just keeps on going, and going, and going. Before you know it, your life is over, and if you haven’t done anything about it. You died the way you lived. You died doing nothing.
It’s better to try today than do tomorrow.
Some of us decided that we didn’t want to die doing nothing, we wanted to die doing something, or die after something had been done. We weren’t the ones who decided to submit. We were the ones who wanted to make change, but we lived the life of striking fear into people’s hearts. The mention of The Resistance was, for some, an invitation, a way of proving that you were true to what you believed in, but for others, it was something that you had to fear, something you had to run from, something you had to avoid.
By no means were we the real people, or the good ones, or the right ones, and by no means did the land of Skyrim deserve us, but… Deep down, they needed us as much as we needed each other.
The end times were rumored to be when the dragons rose once again and enslaved mankind – The end times are far from that; the end times are when we give in to those that are tearing us to pieces, bit by bit.
But just because it’s happening, doesn’t mean it can’t be stopped.
For we are The Resistance.
And together, we are strong.
