The Remnants Break (OPEN)

Death Korps of Krieg

Keeper of the Ruins
The Altaran Protectorate; a haven for the last survivors of the proud yet dying Altaran race. They once counted themselves as the solitary rulers of the stars and the emperors of the cosmos. Yet, their pride was to be their undoing. They fell, not in one fell swoop, but slowly and painfully. They died in droves as some suns imploded, consuming many systems. The old empire shrunk and shrunk, till all that was left was the homeworld and the surrounding systems. Once jewels gracing the black carpet of space, Alteria and its sisters were now like candles hidden away in a cave. It was the exiles, the wretched Rogues, the Naharlazem, that saved the skins of the imperials, otherwise known as the Khalai. From this alliance, the Protectorate was born. Later, the Purifiers and Tal’darun became part of this alliance. The Purifiers trusted their fleshly kin to uphold their promises. The Tal’darun, however, not so much. Suspicious eyes drew upon the Tal’darun as they became more and more isolated from the others. Little did they know that the Tal’darun plotted against them.

Kahz Hazi, Alteria

In Kahz Hazi, leaders from the different Altaran sub-factions meet to discuss matters of the state. The Quadrimvirate, it was called. Composed of Grand Exarch Tarven of the Khalai, Lord Commander Sakkad of the Purifiers, Matriarch Kahara of the Naharlazem, and First Ascendant Alartik of the Tal’darun. The leaders gathered around a round table, and waited as the Grand Exarch began.

“The Explorators continue their search as we speak.”, Tarven began. “But Alutroch Station in the Andromeda has been attacked, though it managed to warp away before too much damage was incurred. Our enemy there is yet to be known, but they possess advanced biotechnology.”

The First Ascendant scoffed. “So what if a dozen so space monsters from the anus of hell try to attack Alutroch? They are more pressing matters to discuss!”

“Like what, Alartik?”, Lord Commander Sakkad interjected. “Like the fact that you Tal’darun are selling dangerous psychoactive substances?”

“Watch what you say, machine.”, Alartik shot back.

“There you go again! That is so stupid of you!”, Kahara said, annoyed,

“Well, this will be the last time this will happen.”, Alartik nodded mockingly. “Because this day will be your last.”

Without warning, Alartik grabbed Grand Exarch Tarven and stabbed him with a psi-blade. “Wha... why....”, Tarven asked quietly as he saw his blood begin to drip to the floor. You are... outnumbered...”

“Well, maybe. But not now.”

Marching feet would soon be heard, and out of the four doorways Tal’darun assassins emerged with blades drawn. Sakkad was quick to disarm and kill four with his energy spear, but more were coming. “Damn it Alartik, you damn traitor.”, Kahara muttered as she and her retinue retreated to the shadows. Sakkad followed, leaving the dead Tarven and laughing Alartik behind.

“Today is the day that we take our rightful place... and take what is ours...”

As he spoke, Tal’darun fleet elements clashed with the unprepared forces of the other three factions. Tal’darun Eliminators clashed with Naharlazem Night Stalkers and Khalai Star Seekers in the darkness above Alteria. World Eaters fought against Star Crusaders and Dragonships in increasingly violently exchanges.

All over the Protectorate, the same message rang around.

We have been betrayed by the red pirates.

Andromeda

Unfortunately for the Altaran, the message found it's way into the wrong folk. The Stramstin Hive Fleet Nugaoth, meaning Death in their eldritch tongue, moved towards a lone Altaran Explorator Fleet. These shall be the first of these inferiors to perish in the Great Purge Offensive, specifically conceived by the Stramstin High Command when they received intel regarding the Altaran Civil War.

Commander Ish'Batar, the leader of this operation stood in front of the command center holding a cup of astradun. The fleet is moving unobstructed towards their objective. The Stramstin official was smirking as he took a sip of his beverage. "Death to the enemies of the Empire," said the official with a smile on his face.

In order to preserve the element of surprise, the Hive Fleet warped in approximately 0.2 light years away, far enough for the radiation to not be payed any attention, yet close enough for sublight travel to reach their destination fast enough. By the time the Stramstin fleet emerged from interstellar space, their targets are still busy scanning and probing the local planets.

"Light them up." said Ish'Batar moments before the Stramstin Fleet opened fire upon an unfortunate Altaran ship.

Venyron

In the capital world of humanity, in its orbit is a small station that serves as the embassy of the Altaran Protectorate to the Colonies. Protected at all times by two Starseekers, the embassy held almost 200 employees of various caliber, from lowly cleaners to the ambassador himself, Touren Hemati. Touren at this moment spoke with great distress with the remaining leadership of the Protectorate, Kahara and Sakkad. With Tarven dead, it falls to the Grand Exarch’s oldest child, the Explorator High Commander Aster Simfil to lead the Khalai in his father’s stead. Alteria itself is under siege. The Tal’darun struck at the moment when the majority of the Alteria defense fleet was comprised of Tal’darun units, and are thus slowly but surely bringing the civil war to the cities below. The Armada is unable to reinforce the defense fleet of Alteria as its forces are bogged down elsewhere in Protectorate territory, so Touren is to ask their allies, the Federated Colonies, for military aid in the face of the insurgency of their so called kindred. Touren looked down towards Venyron as Kahara and Sakkad said their pieces and bid their goodbyes.

“This is another time of testing.”, he thought as he walked down towards the docking bay in order to board one of the Starseekers. “They will listen, for sure.”

As the Starseeker moved down towards Venyron, Touren immediately began transmitting a message to the Central Command. “Permission to land and requesting an audience with the Central Command. This is a dire issue at hand.”

Andromeda

The first ship to fall was a drifting Night Stalker, blown to pieces as the entire Stramstin fleet sent their might to bear against the lone fleet. In unison, the Explorator Fleet began to move away, but it was all a feint. Suddenly stopping and making a sharp turn, the fleet retaliated with their own weapons: Jugsar beam guns and particle disruptors. The single Star Crusader acting as the command ship launched a litany of torpedoes that exploded in a bright flash of light, with then resulted in a temporary shield barrier that catched the second volley of the Stramstin fleet. Little did the Stramstin that this fleet was commanded by none other than the Explorator High Commander himself, Aster Nimfil. “Concentrate fire on the small ones first! Thin them out!”, he ordered as the Starseekers and Nightstalkers launched blasts of prismatic beams and Jugsar beam cannons. “That expedition did very well, after all...” he thought. “Send them a message! Tell them this... there is no greater void than the one between your ears!”

Thus, the insult was sent, and the fleet continued to fight.

Great Purge Offensive

Commander Ish'Batar continued to sip his beverage as the fleets began shooting at each other, The rather minuscule enemy force is packing quite a punch with a stronger variation of the fusion lances used by those who called themselves the 'New Han Empire'. The commander scoffed when he is reminded of the rather weak nation that dwells in the fourth quadrant of the galaxy. "Those inferiors dare to call themselves an empire, huh? We shall smash their dreams of even becoming half as glorious as ours." Ish'Batar's grip on his cup tightened to the point that his hand and the cup is slightly shaking, spilling some of his beverage onto the ground.

The sound of water splashing onto the ground shook the commander back into his senses, who shook his head and took a deep breath to calm himself down. "Not now, we have inferiors to slaughter." He turned his attention back to the battle. A lone soldier approached him and saluted.

"Sir, the Tau'gatha(Nightshade fighter) is down."

Ish'Batar's eyes narrowed and he slowly placed his cup of beverage onto his table. The screen hanging above said table showed chunks of chitin and flesh floated amongst the empty void of space, said chunks clearly belonging to a Nightshade Fighter. He turned his eyes to the soldier and asked:"Any other casualties?"

"No sir."

"Good. Tell the fleet to attack every enemy ship at once. We have the numerical and technological superiority, that should be more than enough."

"Yes sir." said the soldier before he leaves the commander's chambers.

The Stramstin Hive Fleet then spread into 29 groups of 20 to 21 ships, each targeting a different enemy ship. The signature purple beams of the Stramstin struck against their targets, with some ships bursting open into scrap metal almost instantaneously. The more fortunate ones survived the hit, only to be boarded by the Stramstin fighters. Hordes of horrifying constructs swarmed into those ships, screeching and shooting as they rushed the ship's defenders.

Moments after the order is issued, another soldier marched in and saluted.

"Sir, we have received a transmission from the inferiors."

"Gah, what can the uncivilized inferiors say except barbaric insults and uncultured grunting?" Ish'Batar waved away the soldier.

"Well, sir. I should take my leave."

"Yes, yes. Farewell, soldier."

Ish'Batar returned his attention to the battle and picked up his cup of astradun. He took a sip as his eyes slightly narrow in glee as he enjoyed the sight of the random chunks of metal flying throughout the battlefield.

"This ought to be a good fight. For the Empire."

The Federated Colonies
Die Föderierten Kolonien

"Einheit, Freiheit, und Gleichheit!"
"Unity, Freedom, and Equality!"

The Central High Command of the Colonial Armed Forces
Die Zentraloberkommando der Kolonialen Streitkräften

The Orbital Control of Venyron redirected the message of the Altaran ship to the Central High Command, and as the ship descended to the Colonial capital's atmosphere, a response was soon received.

Permission to land granted, please follow these coordinates. The Central High Command of the Colonial Armed Forces is honored to grant an audience to the ambassador of the Altarani Protectorate.

Long story short, the Altaran ship was escorted by two Colonial Wyvern VII fighters as soon as it entered the atmosphere, and it was led to land on a carefully hidden spaceport somewhere along the equator. Venyron was a stark contrast to the Xalion that the Colonial administration had abandoned. Although smaller than the Planet of the Black and the Gold, Venyron was filled with forests and lush greenery. Like in the planets of old, the cities were not scarring the surface of the planet, but they were created in harmony with the nature around them. But the population of this wonderful and ancient world was declining, the nature was getting out of control, and an observer that would simply look at the planet without any technical help from the orbit would have been unable to see any of the metropolises scattered throughout the surface and beneath the oceans.

Anyway, right near the platform where the ship had landed, the ambassador was expected by a group of Colonial soldiers, all in their usual battlesuits, but some of them were clearly not human. The officer saluted the foreign delegation, before they were led away. Eventually, they reached what seemed to be a really, really old building, made out of metal, stone, and steel, with an entrance and columns that would have reminded people of the Old Earth. A big plaque informed those who needed to know that this building belonged to Central High Command, with the blue-red-golden flags of the Colonies waving nearby. The building was clearly not a military secret, but even the High Commanded needed an administrative building.

Not before long, the delegation was introduced to a rather large hall, beneath a dome of glass. A large, round wooden table was present in the middle, with a hologram of the Milky Way hovering over the table's center. The hall shared a similar style to the exterior, glass, metal, and columns of what looked like stone. On the other side of the hall, opposite from the entrance through which the delegation had come, there was a statue, a highly stylized figure of a humanoid woman, with wings, holding a golden lance in her left hand, and a laurel crown in her right hand. Behind the statue, the golden stars of the Colonies were carved in a large slab of black stone, with the words "Dem Kolonialen Völkern" in Colonial Standard beneath them.

The attention of the delegation would however soon be attracted by the two persons that were waiting for them, both of them standing up when the foreigners entered. An old human was standing a little behind and to the side, wearing the classic dark blue-red uniform of the Colonial War Fleet, the entire left side of his uniform being literally filled with countless decorations, while his white hair and wrinkled skin attested his age. Those familiar with the Colonial rankings would immediately notice that he had the rank of a Sternenadmiral - Star Admiral.

The person in front of him was a little more interesting though. A young woman, at least from the looks of it, but while she looked human..She looked like a genetically engineered Genome user, but those who were familiar with Genome users could feel that something was different about her, though, they wouldn't know what. She was wearing the vermilion red uniform of the members of the Central High Command, with the rank of a Sternenmarschall - Star Marshal. The only decoration that she wore was a metallic gold twelve pointed star, simple, but incredibly important - the Kriegsstern Erste Klasse - First Class Star of War, awarded only to those officers and commanders who had nearly given their life away for the protection of the Federated Colonies. Her red uniform greatly contrasted with her really, really pale skin, and her eyes had a sickly yellowish color. Her long hair was also rather peculiar, being somewhere between gold and silver in terms of color, with some strands closer to the former, others to the latter.

The woman smiled as the foreigners entered, with both her and the man saluting in the way of the Colonial military, with their clenched fists on their chests. "Welcome, ambassador.", the woman said in a near perfect Galactic Standard, with only a vague Colonial accent. "I am Michaela Kaunitz-Rietberg, Star Marshal of the Colonial Armed Forces, and next to me is Karl Klenau, Star Admiral of the Colonial Fleet of War. We must apologize for this meager welcoming, but we tried to respond as quickly as possible. Please, take a seat.", she gestured, showing the ambassador the chairs on the other side of the table. "How can we help you?"

Venyron

Touren shifted his position on his seat as Michaela asked him how could they help. His blue eyes glowed dimmer as he began to speak.

“The Protectorate has been thrown into a civil war. Grand Exarch Tarven is dead, and the First Ascendant of the Tal’darun, Alartik, has began a rebellion. The battle rages as we speak. Alteria, our capital, is under siege as Alartik executed his plan at the time when the rotating shifts in our defense fleet ensured that the majority of the units in the Alteria Defense Fleet were Tal’darun ones. Matriarch Kahara and Lord Commander Sakkad have always been suspicious of Alartik, but the Grand Exarch always assured them that the Tal’darun are our allies and will not betray us. It appears he paid with his life.”

Touren clasped his hands together in distress. “It falls to the Explorator High Commander, Aster Nimfil, who is the Grand Exarch’s son to lead the disarrayed Khalai, but he is in the Andromeda Galaxy, so at the moment, High Admiral Urun will be the one in charge. As for now, the Armada is bogged down on many fronts is unable to reinforce the Alteria Defense Fleet, so it is here I ask for aid. In order to defeat the insurgents, we will have to deal with their forces besieging Alteria itself, for if they break the line, the civilian population in the cities below will suffer greatly. I request, in behalf of the entire Protectorate, for the Colonies to send a battlegroup to the Alteria System in order to help the defense fleet drive out the insurgents. After that, we will have to eliminate them in the rest of our territories. They may be our kin, but they are traitors to the highest order.”

He then spoke again. “There is another matter of dire concern. Some of our Explorator Fleets in the Andromeda have reported sightings of fleets of chitinous monsters, probably biomechanical ships. Three have already been attacked by said fleets, and one was almost wiped out to a ship. Alutroch Station, one of our research outposts, also came under attack. It barely managed to escape the assailants in time. Our archives do not appear to have records of this unknown enemy, so I and the other Altaran leadership is certain that this enemy poses a serious threat. They have demonstrated the ability to create hordes of biomechanical monsters, as we have determined that the initial hordes that boarded and murdered everyone aboard the explorator ships are most likely controlled by someone else based on the technology and behaviour of their fleets. We have to investigate.”

Andromeda

Aster watched as his fleet evaporated in face of overwhelming odds. Still, he was not willing to give up. The remaining fifteen ships of the fleet turned tail and ran at his command. They were, however, too fast, and many Stramstin weapons simply missed as the highly mobile Altaran ships evaded the purple beams of death. His Star Crusader was at the tail of the retreat, its mighty shields absorbing the blows that could have destroyed the smaller ships in just a few hits.

At this moment, he hoped that someone already recieved his distress call. Fortunately, someone just did...

Lost Fleet - Altron

Floating aimlessly through the void, the Lost Fleet of Altron shimmered in the light of a dying star, absorbing the energies released by its death throes. Altron was commanded by none other than Shud Krako, the legendary commander who held off the Keltakens in the Second Intergalactic War away from the world of Altron while the majority of the population fled to Shakuras. Now, he is a commander of a lost fleet, drifting without aim and without end until-

“Admiral, we have recieved a distress signal. It is from...”, the informations officer gasped. “Altarani. From a certain Aster Nimfil.”

“Hmm... I know him.”, Shud said emotionlessly. “What’s the situation?”

“He has fifteen ships remaining and he is being chased by a large enemy fleet. Response, sir?”

“We come to their aid. They are our brothers and sisters. We hide no more. Prepare for combat!”

The call ringed throughout the Altron Lost Fleet. The warships charged their ancient yet highly advanced shields and weapons to full power. At its head were three Antiga Class Ultraheavy Battleships, and six Auirga Class Super Carriers. Behind them were Star Crusaders, Night Stalkers, Star Seekers, and an assortment of others. They charged as one into the void, and disappeared into the darkness.

Andromeda

Just as the Stramstin thought that the explorators were now food for them, a potentially unpleasant surprise came in. The Lost Fleet of Altron warped in in a bright flash of light, and the first to attack were the Antiga Ultraheavies. Their EMP fields wreaked havoc in navigations, and their weapons laced through chitinous armor. Several Nightshades were destroyed almost instantly by the holacaust of fire that poured from the Ultraheavy Battleships, and behind came a host of warships from the empire’s golden age.

“So they came...”, Aster thought as his fleet turned around to fight. “They are just scattered around, after all.”

Great Purge Offensive

A slight frown appeared on the face of Ish'Batar as enemy reinforcements poured in with a blinding flash of light. A few Nightshades were blasted apart before they could even react to the sudden change in events. Ish'Batar clenched his fist upon seeing the enemy reinforcements for himself.

"Regroup and fire on the enemy reinforcements, the fry can escape this time."

Streams of purple light coalesced into one single huge ray of purple which collided with the shields of an Ultraheavy, which flickered as it struggles to hold against the mass fire. Unfortunately for the Stramstin, it's not down yet, even after thje supposedly deadly strike

Ish'Batar's face twisted with shock and anger, the inferiors had advanced way beyond expectations.

"Another volley," was the only words sprouted by the shocked commander at the moment.

Andromeda

Seeing another volley incoming, Shud simply looked at it. “They’re shooting at empty space now.”, he smiled inwardly as the beams seemingly passed harmlessly through the Avenging Destroyer before the holofields flickered to reveal that the ship was in fact just a little to the left. “Those holofields Endorus gave us are very useful.”, Shud smirked as the three Ultraheavies activated their holofields, which flickered and danced, distorting the image of the ships. The distortions would cause chaos in enemy radars and sensors as the Altaran battleships either appeared slightly to the left of their true position, or vice versa. Shud ordered a transmission be sent to the enemies.

“I am Shud Krako, and you might all die. I crushed a thousand foes with a hundred of my own. Underestimating us will be the last mistake you will ever make.”

With the message sent, the forces of the legendary Shud Krako counterattacked with their own volley. Theirs was stronger than that of the Explorators, as they came from the glorious past of the Altaram Empire. The Avenging Destroyer rammed a Nightshade headlong at a fraction of c, breaking it in half just as it’s upper gun turrets fired a terrible hurricane of lasers and shells towards a Marrow Cruiser on top of it. The Super Carriers released swarms of robotic drone fighters, pressing against the enemy ships with their sheer numbers and collective firepower. However, was fate truly on their side? Or is Shud simply optimistic?

Great Purge Offensive

"Holofields, eh? Scatter fire." said Ish'Batar as the Altaran ships began flickering like a graphics glitch. Hundreds of beams once again were headed towards the previously hit Ultraheavy. This time, the shots are scattered so that regardless where it actually is, it will always be hit. Some aimed a bit higher than the ship's image, some lower, some slightly left, and some slightly right. While a lot of the beams missed, some found their way onto the ship.

"Sir, a cruiser is heavily damaged," A soldier approached Ish'Batar and saluted.

"Get it back here, we lost enough ships today."

"Yes,sir," The soldier turned to leave.

A few Battleships made their way to the damaged Cruiser and began covering it's retreat.

Andromeda - Lost Fleet of Altron Sector 6 and the 1st Explorator Fleet

“We are the symphony of annihilation!”, Shud Krako yelled as the scant enemy beams hit the Avenging Destroyer, but to little effect. Its shields absorbed the enemy fire much more easily now, as their scattered attacks rendered the process of dissipating the energy much less troublesome. Krako then ordered the unthinkable: his entire fleet put their engines on maximum output and dove into the enemy fleet, but they were not a pinprick foe to face. With centuries of experience and superior reflexes, the helmsmen of the Altaran warships made such erratic movements while mingling into the enemy formation that targeting proved a troublesome mess. Even worse ensued as the Stramstin ships started to hit each other due to the Altaran deep strikin tactics, using their superior speed and manoeuvrability to evade most of the enemy fire while dealing out their own devastating volleys. However, the strands of fate are not entirely in their favor. Even as they annihilated several Nightshades and two cruisers, three Starseekers were blown apart, their impressive and graceful forms trashed by a concentrated attack from several vessels.

“This is bad...”, Krako thought as his battleship sped alongside the larger Stramstin ships, firing upon them with great vengeance. “With no reinfocements and being outnumbered, I have to think this through...”

Great Purge Offensive

"Death to the inferiors! Fight on, my brave men!" The agile enemy fighters are surely a nuisance, but Ish'Batar realized that the Stramstin fleet is too slow to catch up as reality has made it quite clear. "Take it nice and slow, they will eventually fall to the bravery of our men!"

The Stramstin fleet continued to take out the enemy ships one by one, concentrating their fire at the enemy one at a time. After all, time is on their side....

Great Purge Offensive - Altron

“PATHETIC.”, Shud thought as his ultraheavy battleship rammed an enemy dreadnought. “Harden shields at our stern! Give her all we got! Clamp that bastard down!”

At his command, the stern of the Avenging Destroyer glowed a baleful light, a light so intense that it could burn a man’s eyes in their sockets. As the Avenging Destroyer gave a mighty push and fired every single thing it had at the dreadnought, three long “jaws” began to extend from its sides before clamping down firmly on the enemy ship. “No escape! Die!”

The Avenging Destroyer then charged the massive particle cannon on its stern, aimed at pointblank range at the enemy Tyrant. After 10 seconds, it blasted a hole into the enemy dreadnought, obliterating it as the volatile anti matter of the Avenging Destroyer annihilated the armor of the foe. “Oooohhh unteresting experi-“, Shud said just as a laser shot landed on the ship’s dorsal armor. “What was that?”

“It appears that using the particle cannon requires the ship to devote 80% of its energy...”, one of his crewmen said. “The shot did no consequence, though.”

“Very well. We should not do this again.”

“Alright, commander. Noted.”

At the same moment, a Night Stalker was blown apart by a massed fire from several cruisers. “They are massing their fire. Move closer to them and try to stick to them. As soon as enemy barrages come in, evade. They will be killing each other in no time.”

In the world of Alteria, a horrendous battle raged in its pristine skies as the Tal’darun insurgents attempted to break the blockade in the capital city of Gnosopolis. ADF (Alterian Defence Force) fighters fought with their Tal’darun counterparts over the plains surrounding Gnosopolis, just as a ground battle rumbled outside the city walls. Home to 17 million souls, Gnosopolis was the centre of the Altarani Imperium in the age of yore, and was still the capital of its successor, the Protectorate. However, Gnosopolis was not alone in the plains; it had seven satellite cities branching out, each being 15 miles away from the capital. These cities were Muspela, Jotur, Solani, Yakare, Nagire, Hayare, and Kazenuki. Muspela and Joture have been captured by the insurgents, and Solani and Yakare have been under siege. However, Solani held a dark cult within the deep underground tunnels underneath it… the Soldraan, the Cult of the Machine God. Living away from the rest of the civilization, the Soldraan ritualised mechanical enhancements. By the time they were old, they were no more than machines with the minds of sentients. However, the tremors of the earth now trouble them, for they know little of the outside world. When the Altarani reclaimed Alteria, the Soldraan were amongst the first to land, taking the deep dungeons of Solani for themselves. Few knew of their existence and fewer cared.

It was time, their Grandmaster said. He stood up, his mechadendrites slithering near him like the arms of an octopus. The red robed cultists all bowed, and hailed him. With a single binharic command, a full half of the cult armed themselves with their deadly weaponry. Energy swords, pulse rifles, plasma cannons, and beam lances. Several walkers, dubbed the Firedragon Frame, walked to battle alongside the cult’s devilish warriors. As the Tal’darun slave soldiers took over half of Solani, the ground split open as the drill engines of the Soldraan emerged, vomiting out the Mechanist Cohorts and their Firedragon Frames. Shouting war cries, the cohorts fought against the assailants; empty eyed servitors grown in the vats of Slayn. Prisoners and lab rats, these servitors have no mind of their own; their free will has been taken from them. But the warriors of the Machine God cared not, as they stabbed them with glowing energy blades and pierced their armored forms with beam lances and pulse fire. In but an hour, the Tal’darun slave army that had put Solani under siege has been wiped out by the cult’s forces.

“0001100111011010101.”, one of them said to another. “Let us drive the insurgents out of our holy soil!”

In the space above, the Defence Fleet fought a losing battle against an enemy that surrounded them. With the entire Great Fleet bogged down and unable to reinforce, Alteria will have to count on its foreign allies to help it...

Great Purge Offensive

"Curses." Ish clenched his fist as a Tyrant was destroyed right before his eyes, before pointing at the ship responsible for the incident."I want that ship dead."

The Hive Fleet immediately begun firing at the enemy battleship, sending waves of purple at the enemy ship. A smile appeared on Ish's face as he watched his fleet in action .

"The enemy will be down in no time." He said to no one in particular. "Glory for the Empire."

Great Purge Offensive

“Too slow.”, Krako said as he stomped his staff on the cold metallic floor of the bridge of the Avenging Destroyer. “Short range warp! Plot course to the best position to attack the enemy flagship!”

“Aye Commander!”, the crewmen would yell before they rapidly began plotting the short range warp course. “Range at 150 kilometers. Commencing warp in 1....2...3, warp!”

The Avenging Destroyer disappeared in a blast of azure light, the beams that were heading towards it flying indefinitely towards empty space. It would appear 150 kilometers to the starboard side, and its weapons were primed as ever.

“Pffft, three charges left for that.”, Shud said as the battleship started firing a maelstrom of fire and death. “We will have to make the most out of it...”

The Federated Colonies
Die Föderierten Kolonien

"Einheit, Freiheit, und Gleichheit!"
"Unity, Freedom, and Equality!"

The Central High Command of the Colonial Armed Forces
Die Zentraloberkommando der Kolonialen Streitkräften

The smile on the face of the female Colonial officer quickly disappeared as the Altaran ambassador explained the situation that had forced him to present himself in front of the representatives of the Colonial Central High Command. The man standing behind her had remained constantly calm, but even he seemed to be affected by the news that they had just received. Managing a nation that stretched across countless parts of an entire galaxy wasn't easy - but the Altaran ambassador had seemingly arrived before the Colonials had been informed by the situation - but not by long. Before he even managed to finish talking, another officer entered the room, saluting his superiors in the Colonial way before giving Michaela a report - from the KOLSI, by the looks of it, probably including what the Colonial foreign intelligence service had just learned about the situation in the Protectorate.

The two Colonial officers remained quiet for a few moments, before the yellow eyed Star Marshal started to speak. "This is certainly a complicated situation, Ambassador. Our forces are already stretched thin, and we can't afford to move many forces away from our borders with the treacherous HCA.. but do not worry. Your nation is a protectorate of the Colonies after all, and we will do our duty of protecting it, even from internal enemies. We still need to receive a legal confirmation from the Federal Diet and the Federal Council, but you can be sure that the Colonies will consider these rebels to be their enemies too. Traitors must be punished after all.."

Michaela whispered something to Star Admiral Klenau, and after he saluted too, he and the KOLSI officer both left the room, leaving the Altaran ambassador alone with the golden-silver haired woman. "We will send a fully fledged battlegroup, led by the KMS Karl von Teschen, in order to help your forces to aid you in the defense of the Alteria system and to crush the insurgent forces in that system. We will try to mobilize as many forces of the Kriegsflotte as we will be able to in order to assist you in this conflict. We must strike boldly and fearlessly, before the HCA will be able to take advantage of the situation." The female officer then sighed. "As for the Andromeda.. this reminds me of the early contacts that we had with the Invaders.. but they are long gone, so this must be a new threat. We must certainly investigate, we can't be blind in front of such a big danger.. but this comes at a rather bad time.." She sighed again. "After diplomatic negotiations with other powers, the Federated Colonies have officially declared that since the Keltaken Empire no longer exists, the treaty with them is null and void, and because of that, our nation will try to reestablish its earlier position in the Andromeda galaxy. Several units of the Kriegsflotte have already been sent to the fringes of the galaxy in order to create a base that will serve as the core of all of our future operations in the galaxy, a mission codenamed Unternehmen Kugelblitz. Since this danger seems to be confined to the Andromeda for the time being, I believe that it would be for the best if the commander of your Andromedan forces would contact the Andromedan High Command of the Colonial forces there - to better coordinate our response. We will be cautious, but we need to find out whether this will represent a danger to the Colonies or not..."

“I thank you, Admiral.” Touren thanked as he made a respectful bow. “When this is over, I am sure that the Insurgents have been destroyed. And I thank you in advance, Sternenadmiral.”, he said as he shook the Sternenadmiral’s hand. Touren put his hands together again. “I will be relaying this to the Lord Commander and the Matriarch. For now, I will be returning-“,

A ring seemed to reverberate from the Ambassador’s head receiver. With a click, he would pick it up.

“Yes, Communications?”, Touren asked over the line as he turned away for a little. “What is it that you want to tell me?”

“Ambassador,” the person on the side said. “It is about the sightings in the Andromeda… our envoy in the Commonwealth has received information on them. The Commonwealth Fourth Fleet and detachments of Confederate and Drathian forces engaged what seemed to the mysterious enemy. They were victorious with some losses. The Commonwealth is currently distributing footage and photos over the Net, though since our networks are different…”

“Very well then,”, Touren replied. “Contact the Lord Commander and Matriarch for me. Relay them the information that our envoy received, and relay it to me as well. Also, tell them that our friends are coming to help us out in Alteria.

One more thing. Relay to our Andromeda assets to coordinate with the Colonials with establishing their presence in that galaxy once they begin. That is all.”

“As you say, Ambassador.”, the voice said before hanging up.

Touren turned back around. “It appears we got some answers just as we were discussing them.”, he went on before pulling out what looked like to be the equivalent of Altarani smart phones. “Ah, so this is how they go.”, he said as he watched what transpired. “Advanced beam weapons and synchronous attacks. These are monsters.”

“Would you like to see as well, Sternenadmiral?”, he then offered. “I believe that our red studded friends have something useful to show…”

Alteria System

“Commander!”, the communications officer of the ADF said aboard the Mothership “Traitor’s Bane” to the commander of the ADF, Saderox Alkae. “The Ambassador has confirmed that the Colonials will send at least one full battlegroup to aid us!”

“Thank Lenurion, our prayers have been answered.”, Alkae sighed in relief. He then tensed up once again. “Again, at all costs, prevent the enemy from getting any closer! Keep the line intact!”

“Commander, the Daemonhost and the Genkarn have been destroyed.”, one of his men then queried, referring to the two Star Crusaders that were burning just a little distance from them before exploding. “Enemy forces have landed! Muspela and Joture have been conquered! Solani has repelled the attack.”

“They outnumber us three to one. If things don’t get better soon…”

“Commander, Time Warp signatures! Enemy ships. Counting 495 in total!”

“Damn insurgents!”, Saderox clenched his fist. “If we don’t turn things around soon, the planet will be lost and the fleet wiped out!”

Outside, the battle raged. Star Crusaders engaged each other in bloody close range combat, firing powerful broadsides at each other. Starseekesr and Exterminati chased each other through the void, their surroundings drenched in unholy litanies of fire and death. The Motherships supported their allies from behind, firing absolute hailstorms of lasers and shells unto each other. On the world below, the ADF and the Soldraan Cult held their ground.

Barely.

Great Purge Offensive

Noticing an enemy ship suddenly appearing next to his and firing wildly at the hull, Ish'Batar clenched his fists and ordered for his ship to return fire.

"Death to the inferior, take the interloper down!" He screeched at the top of his lungs, sounding like nails against cardboard, as he slammed his fist onto the table, sending his cup flying to the ground. Fortunately, no human is on board to cover their ears and wince at the high pitched noise.

"All ships move closer to each other, and board the enemy ships if at all possible!" yelled Ish'Batar before he returns to monitoring the battle.

Great Purge Offensive

“They are firing back, Commander!”, the tactical officer of the Avenging Destroyer noted as the Ish’batar fired back. Outside, the pulsating shields received the fury of a Tyrant Dreadnought, and it fired back in turn. The glow of purple ordinances slammed against the mighty ionized energies that comprised the Avenging Destroyer’s shield. Whilst it did so, the Avenging Destroyer directed its fire unto its target once more, bringing forth a firestorm of particle beams and kinetic shells. “All ships, data link with the Avenging Destroyer.”, Krako ordered as his strategy came to mind. “One by one, the entire fleet will slay the enemy! The Avenging Destroyer’s computers will do the targeting for you, so put full power to weapons! We must win, for the son of the Grand Exarch is the one we are protecting! En Taro Tarven!”

Due to the battle’s chaotic nature, it would take 5 minutes for the data linking to complete. Meanwhile, one of the Star Crusaders exploded, taking with it a Darkbane Battleship as they engaged in a duel of death. A dozen Starseekers were pierced as the beams tore through their graceful forms.

Noticing that the enemy is trying to board them, Shud issued another order.

“Evade enemy boarding actions at all costs, and purge contaminated quadrants if they are boarded.”
