Here is the Out of Character Chat section for the Red String roleplay, otherwise called OoC. Here is where members may chat freely amongst themselves about anything they so desire. Here is also where the results of The Random Relationship Assignment will be displayed, so please read through the RRA description in the Overview section to better prepare yourselves!

All members are welcome here, new and old. All I ask is that everyone has fun and gets along with each other. As such, welcome to The Red String!

While it isn't time yet, I thought I'd ask is there anyone that doesn't want their character(s) included in the RRA? In addition to that, does anyone have any questions or parts that they'd like for me to clarify for them?
 
@Kore If we choose not to participate in the RRA, how do we get the relationships up? Do we just ask the roleplayer and then write them down?
 
@TheCandyEmo If I am understanding correctly, I believe the answer is yes. The RRA is great for people who want pre-established relationships for their characters, but are either too shy or don't know who to ask or what said relationship should be. However, if there's already a past relationship you have in mind for your character then so long as you get permission from any involved parties then you are free to add it to your character's profile.
 
@Kore Hmm....I did read about the RRA. It sounds pretty cool actually but I don't wanna screw anything up if I did decide to do it that way. Is it easier than it sounds?
 
@TheCandyEmo The RRA is a lot easier than it sounds! Kore makes a list of all the characters, their ages/gender/sexual orientations, and she'll go down the list of character, rolling dice to determine the number of relationships, the type of relationships, and who those relationships are with. All you really have to do is say if you're ok with the way the character's relationships are. There are some safety nets that allow you to reroll if you don't like an option you got, or to make it so a particular character won't be on your list. But you mostly just get to watch how the RRA progresses. It's actually quite fun :3 Kore does all the actual work *snickers* X3

If it makes you feel better, I also don't think you're likely to screw anything up if you decide not to. Dante and Edel already of a pre-established relationship (sort of), but it won't really affect the RRA once it begins :3


There's also the chance of relationships changing (gaining new friends/lovers, or leaving old ones, like in any RP, or in real life :3) while the actual RP is progressing, so you're not necessarily stuck with any give relationship. I was trying to edit that into my post when you responded ^-^

@TheCandyEmo I believe so, yes. I try to handle all the hard aspects of it to make it easier for everyone else. Also if it helps, the RRA only decides the type of relationship, you and whoever else involved get to decide the actual details of it so that it fits in well with your characters. I don't want to force anyone to accept character relations they don't like either, so if at the end of the RRA process you decide it simple doesn't feel right then you're free to remove your character from the RRA and they won't have to keep any of the rolled up relationships.

Hi! Glad to be here- I'll admit I have yet to master HTML coding, but I'm super excited to join- is there any current list that indicates the ratio of boy/girls ans ay possible LGBT characters? I have a couple of characters I've been looking to use!

@The Succubi Queen Haha, I personally just use font colors and images to achieve some level of prettiness. I believe PaddieCake uses microsoft word/google docs for hers. TheCandyEmo does use HTML though I believe. Though, as long as the profiles appear organized and are relatively easy for me to find the important information then that's all that really matters. ^_^


And current ratios are done! :)
