The Martian Landscape

Post Bellum: Urban center of Mars (location of Red Adder syndicate headquarters)

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_04/57a8c20c04dc7_PostBellum.jpg.1fcbd4ee3408b279c38946c93e381272.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="47904" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_04/57a8c20c04dc7_PostBellum.jpg.1fcbd4ee3408b279c38946c93e381272.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Post Bellum is an island city with an artificial sea ringing around it. As the headquarters of the Red Adder it's said to be one of the most dangerous cities to live in on Mars, but it consequently also has an incredibly low crime rate.

The plans for the city are entirely based off a previous Martian metropolis, Ante Bellum.

Inner streets of Post Bellum (neighborhood location of Clementine's office)

The streets of Post Bellum are crowded and filthy, with street vendors hollering around every corner. Unemployment rates are also incredibly high in various sectors of the city, and likewise so is food. Clem's office is sandwiched between two other shabby buildings, and her flat is directly connected to the office.

"Titan" Bridge

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_04/57a8c20bd2e0e_TitanBridge.jpg.b044c98fc57cb86c3e6f872f7ab17b03.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="47894" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_04/57a8c20bd2e0e_TitanBridge.jpg.b044c98fc57cb86c3e6f872f7ab17b03.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Titan Bridge is the only link connecting the island city Post Bellum to the outside world. No other roads or paths lead to the city - you'd have to otherwise swim the sea or arrive by boat. Also, it's the largest bridge in recorded human history, able to support thousands of vehicles and people at a time with no stops.

The Red Adder has set up a checkpoint on either end of the bridge, using government workers and police to man the job.

Outskirts of settled Mars

One of the nicest areas to be found on the entire planet - only lightly touched and monitored by the Red Adder - this backwater town houses Mars' oldest inhabitants and features extremely slow growth. Even so, its location right beside one of Mars' three artificial seas makes it a beautiful place to live.

It's within close proximity of Ante Bellum.

Ante Bellum: failed "Utopia" city of Mars

singapore-wreck.jpg

Ante Bellum - an island city whose blueprints were entirely copied by Post Bellum - is still used as a resource center for other Martian cities. Its artificial lakes, plants, and trees are valuable and expensive resources to the planet's crumbling economy. However, because the city falls outside every organization's marked territory, it is often fought over by petty border wars. Much of Ante Bellum's remains have been tarnished further as a result, but currently cease fires have been called to preserve what's left.

It remains one of the largest political focal points on Mars.

Red Adder Guards, Hitman, and idle Scumbags

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_04/57a8c20bd79bb_SyndicateChaps.jpg.c2a9c90a7189c8e9a8bab58b2d858798.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="47895" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_04/57a8c20bd79bb_SyndicateChaps.jpg.c2a9c90a7189c8e9a8bab58b2d858798.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p> These are the most plentiful mob you'll see in Post Bellum, but not necessarily the most deadly. The Red Adder's "footmen" aren't the most capable sods on Mars, but they are some of the laziest. They're at the very bottom of the Syndicate's chain for a reason. They're used for practicalities such as guarding Syndicate institutes, executing basic hit and run jobs, spreading terror, and meat shields. And, outside of their jobs, they put on airs, act like they own the world, and get in everyone's way. Some of them can't even shoot to save their own lives - literally.

Nonetheless, they can kill, will kill, and it's trouble if you find a group of them.

Patrols

black-wolf-1.jpg

Syndicate patrols are everywhere in nearly every city. Regardless of the syndicate, they're to be looked out for and treated with caution. Without a moment's notice you could be killed, kidnapped, raped, or robbed in the name of the syndicate, and not even for any valid reason.

Gangs and Criminals

latest

Biker gangs, fugitives, and minor criminal institutes are everywhere like flies. Even if you're lucky and avoid getting caught up in their shootout at a restaurant, there's still a likely chance you'll find yourself tasting the shock of an explosion as bounty hunters come to pick them up.

Desert nomads and Religious fanatics

ninjascroll.jpg

Hatchigatsu - said to be the largest nicotine dealer on Mars but also an unknown wanderer of the Martian deserts. Whether he's alive, a drug lord, or just the stuff of legends is all a mystery.

ken2.jpg

Tenroir - a man of immense size thought to be leading the religious cult movement "Hecate". Nothing is known about him except that he's on the Red Adder's "top 10 most wanted" list.
