Character's History

History:

The Oligarch of the Arcane, Cayle Dereck Milburn, is the descendant of one of the most prodigal sorcerers in the Oligarchy's history. He was raised well, in the noble class of the Oligarchy. He found himself at home in the lecture halls of other sorcerers and the forums discussing morality and philosophy with the greatest minds available.

However, his interests spanned far beyond merely discussing things. He wanted to learn beyond what yapping in the forums could teach him. He found solace in tomes and scrolls that taught him whatever he wanted to know. Experience was given to him in the streets, where he found truth in the things he had read on swordsmanship. Dueling his rival mages taught him a thing or two about magic, to which he found great joy in. As the schools of magic developed and their uses became more apparent, he found himself exploring all of their possibilities to the furthest his devices would let him.

As his talents expanded, he was moving up in the political scene of the Oligarchy. As if it were a blur, he found himself debating with another candidate for the position of Oligarch of the Arcane. After he had one the debate, the customary duel started. In the spell-slinging that followed, Cayle had forced his opponent to submit that he was the better mage. The glory was won, and Cayle found himself in the position of Oligarch of the Arcane. Although his reign as Oligarch was troubled at first by Zeke's completely different set of ideas, the two came to terms that they both represented the sides of the same coin. Cayle made an allusion to the fact that a battle is won by a combination of complex thought and raw strength, and Zeke respected that. The two have balanced each other's views out, working to be wise and strong.
